Part of the successful negotiations amid the 21 congressional holdouts to the McCarthy speakership, was a pledge to create a subcommittee styled after the Frank Church committee. The purpose of the subcommittee would be to investigate the intelligence apparatus of the U.S. government and the conflicting intersections created by the unconstitutional surveillance state.
It appears from a review of the 6-page framework [See Proposal HERE], the subcommittee will fall under the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee which will likely be chaired by Jim Jordan (R-OH). The framework of the committee as it is surfacing would be structured to have investigative authorities into U.S. intelligence operations, Homeland Security, FBI and DOJ-NSD activity. Thomas Massie will likely be a member of the committee and appeared with Tucker Carlson to discuss. {Direct Rumble Link} – WATCH:
Readers here are very familiar with how the intelligence and national security interests have risen to control almost every institution of government. CTH has deeply outlined how these intelligence departments and homeland security systems have enmeshed to control the executive, legislative and judicial branch of government.
What this committee appears to be motivated toward, and what Massie is outlining in that interview, is the process of going into each of the purposefully created information silos (CIA, DHS, ODNI, FBI, DOJ-NSD etc), reviewing their operational missions, extracting the evidence of their activity and then cross-referencing with unconstitutional outcomes.
The subcommittee has a noble goal; however, the success or lack thereof will ultimately come down to the personnel choices on and in the committee itself. Additionally, and this is a major hurdle, the subcommittee is going to run head-first into the Senate Intelligence Committee obstruction and disinformation system.
The operational mission of the current Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), is entirely to stop any government action that might impede, investigate or attempt to remove the Fourth Branch of Government the Senate has created. The SSCI, the U.S. Intelligence Community and the Dept of Homeland Security will target this House Subcommittee, the members, the staffers and their families, with extreme prejudice.
WASHINGTON DC – A proposed subcommittee to investigate “weaponization” of the federal government — a key demand of House conservatives who delivered Speaker Kevin McCarthy the gavel — would be given sweeping investigatory powers that include explicit authority to review “ongoing criminal investigations.”
The language of the proposed “select subcommittee,” which would operate under the Judiciary Committee expected to be chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), also gives the panel power to access any information shared with the House Intelligence Committee. That panel typically receives the highest-level classified intelligence and briefings of any committee in Congress.
Both provisions appear to have been added during final negotiations between McCarthy and a band of hardline detractors that briefly denied him the speakership. An earlier version of the proposal made no mention of ongoing criminal investigations or the Intelligence Committee and limited the probe to the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice. I’m not sure, heck, check that… I’m absolutely certain the House members putting this committee together have no clue the scale of opposition they are about to run into. The institutions of the United States intelligence apparatus, both foreign and domestic, will destroy anyone who attempts to confront them.
Hopefully the committee will consist of unmarried men or unmarried women, without families, and without attachment to any lifestyle they would wish to retain. The more progress any subcommittee would make, the more they would be at risk.
Last point, knowing the stakes involved, I have no trust whatsoever in the motives of Thomas Massie.

The country and this new committee would be well served if Sundance could be retained as an anonymous contributer.
Unlikely to remain anonymous as Sundance had received at least one subpoena from the Jan 6th Committee (would call it a commission myself) for prior research.
SD can point out doors to the silos.
he knows where they are.
And if you could swap in a more intelligent species for most Americans.
That is assuming that TPTB want it fixed.
Given the ominous warning towards the yet to be chosen members….
And the look of hate on McCarthy’s face in that video last night.
A journey of a 1000 miles…..
This is a massive first step. The very acknowledgement of this pernicious disease is a leap, not a step.
No it is not. It is more evil spreading kabuki theater.
‘When once a Republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.’ – Thomas Jefferson
What “powers of authority” have once again been usurped by the LIMITED legal powers of authority allowed by their CONTRACT, the US Constitution.
“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” – Abraham Lincoln
“A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” – George Washington
At the moment this is better than nothing.
If anything actually is done or comes of it Maybe.
Did you read and understand the George Washington quote from Libby?
Yes, however the difference in armaments between the armies and civilians was very small. Both had muskets, pistols, and swords. The army had cannon and mortars. Some but very few civilians had cannon; virtually none had mortars.
The difference today is vast. Few civilians have arms much beyond rifles, shotguns and handguns. The military, in stark contrast, has everything from aircraft to satellites, comms technology, guided missiles, high altitude armed , drones etc etc etc.
It all sounded great when we were paying taxes to let the DOD build up with billions upon billions of dollars’ worth of high tech weaponry to defend the U.S. against foreign adversaries, but now they appear to have no qualms turning it all inward against us if we “get unruly.”
Therefore I don’t think GW quotes about citizen’s armed opposition to the government in the 18th century have much meaning nowadays.
Our founding fathers knew of what they spoke. The evil European bankers were their real nemesis and that remains so today. The sad thing is very few people are aware of the monstrosity that has us in their talons. The solution is what Jefferson called for long ago -independent citizens raising their own food, providing for themselves, trading with other independent souls for mutual sustenance. This calls for mutual aid societies on a local basis and grow into regional then perhaps statewide. When the jackboots get into your local area you will have the advantage. Be smart play to your strengths. 2023 will be a critical year.
I’m skeptical of any real progress, but I also think the more times we try to stop the corruptocrats, the more chance we have of someday succeeding.
As Admiral Yamamoto said in ‘Tora Tora Tora!’, TPTB are terrified of awakening a sleeping giant, and filling him with a terrible resolve.
We are that sleeping giant.
A vote for evil is still evil. The whole system is evil, so I don’t believe there’s much hope when evil rules. Hope, in humans that is. Of course there’s hope in Jesus, but unless God steps in with some divine intervention, there’s not 1 human or humans that can right this sinking, evil, corrupt ship.
Point taken. Believe me, I am the most cynical person on Earth. However, any exposure of the deep state is welcome. If I had my way, I would rapidly depopulate the US, starting at DC and the suburbs of VA. Let me leave it there.
Be difficult to see what the hell they’re going to accomplish when any criminal referral is going to get shot down by Merrick Garland
Let’s start with cutting the budgets of any governmental institutions that have violated the Constitution.
Can’t; the previous Congress dealt with that, with the Omnibus; this House can not excercise the Power of the Purse against this administration, until NEXT year.
All they COULD do, is shut down the Govt. when it comes time to raise the debt cieling, and now with Kevin installed, that will be handled just like always, although I expect the MAGA contingent to put up a fight, they will lose in the end.
Or expose indisputable corruption.
Much if not most of the federal government corruption has already been exposed, repeatedly. Problem is, the Establishment has and will dispute everything, with impunity, since the Establishment appears to control or have the support of most of the Judiciary.
The power of the purse is their only weapon!
or by any DC jury.
Impeach Garland! Even if you can’t convict him your going to stain his reputation for ever. The only AG to face impeachment!
The House also can impeach Senators.
Impeachment Mayorkas!
Sunlight on the issue and participants is a major step forward. This is DC and prosecutions don’t happen unless you are a conservative. I never thought that the holdout of 20 votes would bring this much progress if it does allow the Light to shine. These participants on this committee have a great burden and unseen risks. The country needs to back them 100%
That’s right. Let’s not worry about prosecutions at this stage. Exposure and sunlight would be a great start and consequences can come later. Baby steps.
This committee could be especially important when it comes to involvement with news and social media companies. Many of the lies spouted by the media like “5 officers killed J6” or “George Floyd murdered” or “Ashli Babbit was dangerous” could very well be government officials telling the media what to say or at a minimum sly manipulation.
I believe that most of the problems we see with government are a direct result of complicity with the corporate media. If half of existing media actually dug in to things like they should and reported facts, much of the swamp would get drained, lies get exposed, prosecutions result, and people just know they might get caught. Right now the corrupt bureaucracy knows there is a very good chance they will get away with anything.
Wouldn’t it be great again to have newsies comepeting with each other to see who can expose the most corruption or let we the people know what is happening out there? TNN Trump News Network?
They would never grant him a license.
Not only will Garland refuse to cooperate the mainstream media will refuse to report on the lack of cooperation and the findings of the committee.
They were always going to get a new headquarters anyway, regardless of Mitch. This was talked about quite a bit when Trump was president, and inevitable since 9/11 and even as far back as the Oklahoma City bombing, because the Hoover Building in many different ways fails to meet current government building code. It’s the ultimate white elephant.
Before it even gets to that, the Speaker has to sign off on any subpoenas or court filings on behalf of Congress.
If Kevin ‘stonewalls’ like Ryan did Nunes, no investigation has subpoena power, OR the ability to take any court action against the Executive.
We will still learn a lot of stuff we wouldn’t otherwise know.
Garland should be one of the referrals. Who has that power, to arrest the AG?
All one has to look at is the J6 committee to see where this is going. No confidence is an understatement.
Meaning that, because no one believes the J6 committee is anything but a kangaroo court, that it had to disband?
The J6 committee was mostly theater aimed at smearing Trump and MAGA and disqualifying Trump from being able to run again. There was some collateral damage but Trump was the target.
Thanks in part to the J6 committee, we now have a Republican majority in the House and a new subcommittee on the way to investigate the people who tried to shape the message on J6 as an insurrection.
Strong work, guys. /s
Hard to believe that McCarthy wouldn’t have agreed to it unless he already had a plan to thwart it.
This is still essentially the same body that refused to allocate $5 Billion for a southern wall during PDJT’s reign.
Zelensky probably spends more than that on tee shirts.
That Paul Ryan is cheering the McCarthy Speakership on is a huge warning flag.
Any observations from Rand Paul?
Rand Paul has been relatively silent to my knowledge, as have been most Senators on the GOP side, other than the usual warmongering money launderers (Lady G, etc.).
I thought Z had only one t-shirt and wears it everywhere no matter the occasion.
He has only one. He just has 10,000 copies of it in his Miami mansion closet.
The suit he reserves for meetings with his boss, Klaus.
Actually, 55 percent of the House got elected since 2016, and most of those were elected with PDJT’S endorsement.
So no, not “essentially the same body” but the price paid for endorsing those who WEREN’T MAGA, is what we saw in the recent fight over the Speakership, and will see going forward.
And how many voted for Kevin McCarthy all last week?
And that 55 percent includes a lot of flipped and lost seats. I know, because I am now trapped in one of those Districts.
That Paul Ryan (Trump) is cheering the McCarthy Speakership on is a huge warning flag.
What’s the difference?
I don’t get the feeling he has a plan for anything. His whip couldn’t even COUNT RIGHT.
“a noble goal”, but…
lives at risk
This is what our government has become.
Our government intelligence apparatus is a crime organization.
RICO
Interesting comment Paul F.
The vicious nasty drug war lords who control our southern border have nothing on our countries “elected” leaders in the DC swamp.
Or at least most of them.
My comment isn’t inclusive enough. I think the Cartels, Mexican govt, and our govt, work together. The occasional seizure and arrest is mostly for show. Our govt is the largest trafficker of misery and death in the whole world. Add in the WEF and EU… I don’t want to leave any group or body out of my comment, but to include all would take more space than a post.
The best short description would include words like Beast, Mystery Babylon, and the Great Whore from Revelation. Normal isn’t coming back. Jesus is.
I suspect we will be shocked, appalled, and exasperated at the findings of the commission.
I suspect that any committee referrals to DOJ will be promptly dismissed.
I suspect that our enthusiastic committee people will call for donations to help them begin the next phase of investigative committees.
I may be a glass half full type, but in this case I think I’m just stating the obvious.
The key, then, will be for the House committee to expose any “Senate Intelligence Committee obstruction and disinformation” and prosecute threats, pressure, etc to block the investigation as “obstruction”.
I pray there is an avalanche of whistleblowers as this investigation unfolds.
Expose to who?
The MSM won’t cover it, as it’s non-coverage of the Twitter files is the latest example.
Tucker wants the story and he has high viewership.
I won’t say the name of the other talking head who ought to find this drama to be interesting.
And we would all be much less informed if it were not for our host THANK YOU SUNDANCE for shining a lite where there was once only darkness and lies prayers for you and your’s
R.D.
Sundances’ dedication and tenacity for telling truth and investigating criminal and unethical actions IS and will go down as the most powerful seminal investigation journalism of our time. This I have no doubt.
Penetration to a larger scope audience is ENTIRELY OUR TASK>
that is OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
the truth is indeed a lion…and it will defend itself. But it must be let free!
that works involves each and every single one of us.
when is now?
God Bless America
This is just tossing a bouquet of flowers on a mountain of dung. Blah, blah, blah.
When I was in the Military, there was an unwritten rule that Government and Military employees were not to participate in politics. That needs to come back.
Look at what the Democrats tried to do the the Clerk of the House and two other of the unelected (except by the House), nonpartisan officials last night. The Democrats tried to replace the people who politely ran the proceedings.
Vicious.
wait what?
Yep. Just a few minutes before adjournment.
It didn’t go anywhere. They will lie to your face under oath that they are not political.
I thought it WAS written – at least that’s the way I remember it.
I agree to a point. And I want to be careful how I frame this.
imagine IF a military commander is given orders from a President (or advised poorly from his own advisers) that is immoral and dangerous for national security.
THEN THAT MILITARY OFFICER HAS A SACRED OATH>>>ONE HE HAS PLEDGED TO DEFEND..to speak out.
therein lies the quandry about political influence.
Some might say, well, simply resign..But that doesn’t solve the problem.
I believe that yes, civilian congressional and presidential control over the military is a good foundational principal.
but what happens when DC begins to start wars that make no sense…charge the military with responsibilities to spy on it’s own citizens?
indoctrinate troops with CRT and allow sexual perverts to ride free.
we have seen what happens when military leadership refuses to engage a political debate. it folds like a cheap lawn chair.
In my day, having served in uniform, it was well understood that our military commanders had a responsibility so awesome that there would be a necessity to push back against policies that were broken and campaigns that were fraught with bad ideas. This IS the ultimate duty of a military commander..Not to simply TAKE ORDERS…but to be responsible for ensuring those orders are correct with results that have moral meaning.
this current military regime has broken that promise and ignored this responsibility. At least there are so few willing to have the courage to say: NO, this is not the right way to do it.
When LTGEN Flynn was persecuted, and not a single other flag officer stood up and have the spine to use their special status to defend him and to push back on this awful persecution of a military officer with an exemplary record, with real combat awards was the moment I realized that the military flag officers had relegated to becoming nothing more than banana republic embecile, stooges. It’s been the most frustrating experience for people who served this country to see this cowardice.
of what use is a moral line, if you don’t stand on it? defend it.
there is no gray area on this subject in my view. While I will never agree that military commanders should have uncontrolled political influence, as they are not elected by the people, THEY DO HAVE A ROLE TO MAKE WHAT OUGHT TO BE< WHAT IS.
a coined axiom, stated by a 4 star flag officer whom I had the honor to serve. he understood the necessity to get in the fight and use his position in matters of politics. He understood this, because it was HIS DUTY. And he swore a sacred oath to perform that duty. Anything less is unacceptable and is simply cowardice.
God Bless America
I’ll believe it when they pass it.
They now have all weekend to media spin the narrative into “demands of extremists”, to give the RINOs a cover for voting it all down on Monday.
I’ll remain hopeful.
A huge 6’3″ Black Capitol Police Officer shoots an unarmed young White woman who was 15′ away from while two Capitol Police Officers stood next to her completely unconcerned is 1st Degree Murder! The DOJ and FBI are totally corrupt and need to be defunded and the murderer needs to be indicted and sent to the electric chair!
^^^
This.
If George Floyd was murdered then so was Ashli Babbit! If AB’s death was a tragic mistake by an incompetent cop then so was GF’s. How can any sane person disagree with this?
I
Sadly, Sorry to Say the Same –
“ Last point, knowing the stakes involved I have no trust whatsoever in the motives of Thomas Massie “
It Will take a Person with Nothing to Lose and Nothing to Gain.
I have no worries about Thomas Massie and his family.
I vote for Elise to be included as well.
(833) Rep. Elise Stefanik asks questions at Comey hearing – YouTube
Stefanik is WEF and votes with the Dems three quarters of the time.
I think we will win this war not by elected goobers but by men and women who have everything to lose and everything to gain.
When they finally realize that their children and grandchildren will be bound by chains so strong and so fierce they will never be Free, then things will change all over the world.
God Bless America.
Many sound good, but since Massey voted consistently for McCarthy, I sure wouldn’t hold my breathe.
Thomas Massie seems to me to be a top shelf man of integrity. He was the first to bring up Ray Epps and the FBI involvement in the J6, I think.
Massie is also an Engineer by trade – not another lawyer Congress Critter. Not being a lawyer combined with his strong libertarian streak are huge strong points.
Interesting, but with each wall they hit, the alphabets become more exposed. So many are asleep, this may be a wake up call. Some still believe the police are there to protect them.
I think many on OUR side mis-interpret the “blateness” of our enemies actions, always saying “THEY don’t CARE what WE think” despite MOUNTAINS of evidence to the contrary.
They didn’t have 80 FBI agents, plus many ‘former’ FBI agents working with twitter, and other big tech firms, to censor, because “they don’t CARE what we think”.
Likewise, their total control of MSM.
Likewise, their constant creation/dissemination of false narrative after false narrative.
ALL of that effort is precisely because they DO “CARE” what we think.
And, in order for anyone to be intimidated, they have to “get the message”.
So, they set up the ‘intel op’ of creating the fiasco at the Capital bldg on J6, in order to push thru the false certification, and to create the “Insurrection” narrative.
But the mistreatment of j6 prisoners, AND it “coming out” to US, that they set it up, was to discourage us from ever trying such large, organised “protests” again, or “organising”.
That letter requested by the FBI, from the School board association was INTENTIONALLY leaked, to threaten any parents from organising, it was INTENTIONALLY “Blatant”.
They are blatant when circumstances FORCE them to be, and when they want to INTIMIDATE.
They have been FORCED to take these actions, to DEFEND themselves, and when you FORCE your enemy to do something, you are controlling the battlefield.
Excellent points.
Look how the 5th Gen War battlefield has changed in just the last 4 years, especially the last 2.
We now have many, many more infowars weapons than we used to, while theirs are running out of ammunition. It is now shaping up to be a sustained crossfire from our side, with the DS pinned down.
We have:
– House investigations about to launch (and I predict, that with President Trump basically running the House by proxy and MTG serving as McCarthy’s handler to ensure he doesn’t wriggle off the hook, we will see real flows of information)
– Missouri v. Biden, which is continually revealing new information about government censorship (The latest revelation is the WH emails going after Tucker for telling the truth about the jabs)
– TwitterFiles ongoing releases revealing the recipient end of the pressure, not to mention the architecture and the construction history of the Ministry of Truth (we are waiting for both the Fauci files and the MSM files to be spilled at the right time)
– Each of these flows will feed off each other. The Missouri v. Biden documents will provide fodder for Judiciary Committee hearings and vice versa for more discovery requests and depositions.
The dam holding back th he reality outside the Matrix has sprung several major leaks.
Add on to that, we now have methods and platforms for increasing dissemination of the revelations. Tucker is the most effective in reaching a larger audience, and we all love the Treehouse, but we also now have:
– Truth Social
– Key voices restored to Twitter (Gen. Flynn, CarpeDonktum, DC Draino, many others)
– Bannon War Room
– Revolver News
– Tablet
– RSBN
More alternative edge media too, like
– X22 Report
– Ninoscorner
– Badlands Media
Plus
– Substacks (Robert Malone, Igor Chudov, Steve Kirsch, Burning Bright, Patel Patriot, and many others)
In the meantime, CNN is dying, Cuomo is gone, Lemon is gone, Ellen is gone, the NYT is losing money and subscribers, the WaPo is in a similar decline, and the Covid money that supported a flow of lies through smaller local media is about to dry up.
We are winning.
I disagree. Their control mechanisms are simply part of their war plan, not defense. They know they’re winning which is why their actions become more and more blatant and visible. What better way to win easily than to have the other side willingly beg to get on the train cars.
Endless investigations are like the endless persecution/investigations/prosecution of Trump. They are an end in themselves. The Hive mind of the 4th branch cannot be reformed by any ”investigation”.How many John Durham faux investigations must we endure??
Who would have ever thought 3 years ago when SD showed us the Strings on these institutions and their Silo ways that we would be at the point now that we not only know of the 4th branch but can see that it exposure to light is helping. Twitter releases along with the Speaker holdout patriots have us playing on a ball field in the Sunlight.
Those twitter releases were planned. As I understand from what I was reading is that one of those controlled narrative get in front of the issue is the the Whitey cover-upper Bill Barr who is always running cover for the criminal federal agencies.
Where is the Durham investigation and prosecution
From what I understand Thomas Massie and family live essentially off-grid with independent power supply and weapons. If we can’t trust him, who can we trust.
And who did Tom Massie vote for, every single time?
Amazing how these reveals seemingly get completely forgotten, in about twelve hours.
For whom was Massie supposed to vote if he thought Kevin was his best shot for support for this committee?
How about standing with those 20, and forcing out McCarthy to begin with.
I’m not going to rehash last week, and knock down all the lame RINO reasons to elect Kevin McCarthy, the head swamp alligator, again.
I have no doubt — none at all — that Massie and the 20 are and were aligned.
Is that why he voted for McCarthy, fifteen times?
Probably.
Jim Jordan didn’t want to be nominated. Jordan is supposed to be nominated to chair the Judiciary Committee of which this new committee will be a part. Also, Jim Jordan might not have been able to get the votes to become Speaker.
Realistically, who else then that could have won the vote? Don Bacon had already threatened to use the nuclear option of crossing over to vote for Jeffries.
Reining in the IC and the corrupt processes that have become the norm would be a big win. Even an incremental but solid step in that direction would be an accomplishment.
For whom did you want him to vote
I keep asking. Sometimes reality is harsh.
Jordan? No, he’s too important to the judiciary committee and exposing truths you and I know but which the country as a whole does not.
Scalise? Much more a masculine type presence than McCarty, frat boy appearance, yet STeve Scalise, from the Deep South, is NO conservative. He couldn’t even bring himself to publicly go against Lizzie Cheney and he refused to back her challenger.
Talk about Establishment! That’s Scalise. Supposedly, his one great point is he is “perceived to be” against Big Tech’s powers . Those are my scare quotes.
So, of all the others you have to come up with someone whom you trust AND….this is the hard part….someone who could have actually WON the Speakership.
Chances are, if you liked the guy or gal, he/she is Maga. Guess what? Maga candidate had no possible choice of winning.
As for the floating of Trump’s name? Are you kidding me, Bannon? That would have undercut Trump’s power, which is, if not waning, at least “in danger” of waning. A public rebuke of Donald Trump would have occurred if his name had been seriously entered and he knew above all of us. The “no” votes would have seriously impaired Trump’s candidacy, which he has been working on improving what with the whole of the media screaming, “DeSantis, DeSantis.”
This way, Trump has a victory: it is MAGA folks who held up that planned coronation.
We’ll see when the votes for the rules’ package comes up, just how much we were, in reality, able to get.
The battle is on-going.
and he is independently wealthy along with a big brain and 3 MIT degrees. His district is jus across the Ohio River from me and he has been a patriot since before the tea party days. I trust him wholeheartedly. Look up his 2021 family Christmas card – drove leftys crazy
Trust, like respect, is earned. Massie has a chance to earn both. Time will tell.
this is the best policy to consider.
a person is only as good as their last action..this is ESPECIALLY TRUE for elected officials who represents literally HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS. IT’s a special verification litmus.
I could make several bone headed mistakes and no one cares because no one else has to live with my hot mess.
this is NOT TRUE for members in DC.
every single thing they do, votes, back door deals, compromises impact us all.
it’s not a perfect system was never a good excuse for having a clean consistent record.
this is why I admire gaetz and boebert. They showed that holding a line is worthy any political risks and blowback.
the fact is that if those other 18 who had earlier blocked mccarthy had committed themselves to match their political rhetoric, mccarthy would NOT BE SPEAKER.
but they did not hold principal.
I was especially bothered by my representatives here in Louisiana. They caved because they were fearful.
Being afraid is the origin of every single bad/wrong decision a human can make.
being afraid is a signal that a person cannot resist against the most petty of emotions.
it indicates weakness in character.
Last night I prayed a special prayer: God remove all power from these imbeciles. They have not earned the privilege of power. Remove them and break them.
God Bless America
I was disappointed that Higgins, who claims to be AF, voted for McCarthy every time.
I was as well and I have planned a meeting to discuss this and debate higgins at the next townhall meeting in my area. His staff asked me to forward a letter first, and I stated I would rather he be prepared FOR ANY QUESTIONS in a public setting and not get advance intentions. After all, he most certainly did not give his voters any advance indications of his agenda wrt to the scumbag mccarthy.
Here is the first question I plan to ask:
clay, what agreement did YOU SECURE with your votes for mccarthy that benefit your consitutuents. Specifically name the agreements and what we can expect from your support to this moron?
I want to squeeze Higgins in public, but I also want to give him to opportunity to explain his vote and what it means to me and others who voted for him.
I admire Higgins on many issues, but his vote for mccarthy was unacceptable. I can also voice the same disappointment toward President Trump for his rubber stamp of mccarthy too.
To the PEOPLE of LOUISIANA, none of any of this makes any sense. There is an obvious breakdown in trust. We need answers..and now. If Higgins cannot explain himself, I will make it my mission that calcasieu parish citizens never vote for him again. I have my eye on another better candidate anyway as there are many other issues namely with a complete lack of attention to the TWIN hurricane recovery funds promised that have never materialized. People have been broken here. Severely broken. A political leader has the ultimate responsibility to help those in need…not free lunches, but the means to put their lives back together. In the last two years post recovery most just left, and those that stayed are handing by a thread. It’s personal!
God Bless America
I’m cautiously hopeful. I wish them the best. This committee is something that we should strongly keep our eyes. Hopefully it will lead to tighter oversight, tough as that may be, but it is needed.
SD – with your knowledge and exceptional ability to connect the dots, coupled with your high level of integrity and passionate desire to save our country, please try your best to somehow get on this committee!
And then Massie says… “You’re gonna have to trust the members on the committee!” I looked in my “trust” bucket – It’s empty!
so what is your backup plan?
Not real sure what your point is here but… I’m going to observe the actions/results. Trust has to be earned not handed out freely which renders “Trust” worthless. It’s up to them to fill my bucket back up – not me.
Since it has been a long time in the planning, forming & implementation of the “compartmentalization” of the intel community, at what point do these investigations start in that timeline?
NDAA? Patriot Act? Prior to 9/11? Last Decade? The Obamination years? etc… Somewhere else.
The “scope” of what they plan to uncover/investigate is pretty large from how I see it.
Investigating what has taken years to develop & implement is gonna likely take years to uncover/investigate.
Trying to get to the bottom of a huge pile of crap one teaspoon at a time while at the same time the intel community is throwing more crap on top while the digging goes on, seems like an exercise in futility.
I will be surprised if this committee ever gets anything done to fix anything.
I would hope that they do succeed in showing folks what has been going on for a long time, just to make more folks aware of it, but that anything will be done to stop & prevent it from continuing, doesn’t seem all that likely to me at this time.
That last part is a bummer.
I saw clip of Gosar voting for McCarthy in the last round.
He looked very reluctant by his posture and like he wanted to vomit afterwards.
Made a beeline out right afterwards.
Good! McCarthy is speaker after 15 rounds of wheeling and dealing with Trump finally coming in and telling everyone, basically, take the win and move forward. I’m hoping the 20 grows to 30 grows to 100 house members that see through the fog of politics as usual and decide to roll up thier sleeves and work to save our Republic.
ONLY WAY to Get the Leverage Away from the Leader is to CUT OFF THEIR CONTROL of THE MONEY for The NRCC .
Has Someone Compiled a List of the Promises that the 20 received ?
… the subcommittee is going to run head-first into the Senate Intelligence Committee obstruction and disinformation system.
If only the subcommittee would call out the SSCI as a big part of the problem.
“If only the subcommittee would call out the SSCI as a big part of the problem.”
That has to be a Day-One exercise. Otherwise it’s just more shoveling shit here and there.
“Last point, knowing the stakes involved I have no trust whatsoever in the motives of Thomas Massie.”
Me neither. He wanted McCarthy to win on the first vote.
Sundance:
The motives of Thomas Massie are pure; however, when the entire deep state comes down on you and your family’s head, it can be quite daunting. This is especially true as the FBI has a history of planting evidence.
There was a lot of discussion over the last few days about a written agreement being developed between Team McCarthy and Team America. If there is such and agreement, it needs to be made public right away.
It is essentially public now.
But it is only an un-voted on piece of paper today.
Just two more days. Tick, tock. Then we’ll see if this was a bucket of smoke or not.
I’ve read comments from media talking heads and claims from politicians. I’ve seen nothing with signatures on it.
Signatures mean nothing. Can’t even enforce them, as they bind non-signatories who have yet to consent or assent to them.
Unless passed by a vote, they are not the Rules.
One RINO from TX has already said he is voting against it.
A signed document will confirm who is lying and who is telling the truth when the agreement is broken.
So? Then what do you do about it?
I think the truthfulness of Kevin McCarthy and most members of Congress is no mystery at this point.
Go ask Joe Manchin if you don’t believe me.
And I’ll add this. If the RINOs under McCarthy vote that Rules package down, he will just ‘blame’ its failure on the others.
”I was for it, but the Caucus felt differently”.
This guy took 15 votes just to get in. And he needed PDJT to torpedo the opposition. His ‘whipping’ skills look like a strand of angel hair.
This article lays out seven of the key points.

They can pick up where Senator Church left off in 1975 –
That capability at any time could be turned around on the American people, and no American would have any privacy left, such is the capability to monitor everything: telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesn’t matter. There would be no place to hide ….
I don’t want to see this country ever go across the bridge… I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that this agency and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision, so that we never cross over that abyss. That is the abyss from which there is no return.
I think the entire Meet the Press (?) interview is still available on YouTube.
I printed out a copy of what you posted when I first saw it years ago because I thought it so prescient. And so it has proved to be.
Yeah, just ask Devon Nunes how it all worked out for him confronted the 4th Branch.
He is alive and running Truth Social. Still in the battle.
“I’m absolutely certain the House members putting this committee together have no clue the scale of opposition they are about to run into.”
This ^ is the quote of the month.
It’s been experienced, witnessed and eye witnessed since the early 1960’s
and the inflictors have miss used a system for diplomatic immunity – which needs to be revoked, in many cases.
The world would be better, more accountable for miss actions, if the revocation occurred in all cases – in real time (not 20 years post-haste).
(easier said, than done.
Meanwhile the evidence(s) continually get wiped, diverted, miss framed on someone else, or dc obfuscated ….
That’s way, way old.
People know…)
Re: Manchin, I agree Sundance. I was just looking at the photo of him you posted and after maybe three seconds, I said “No.”
This is an absolute waste of pandering political time.
Just defund and disbanded the damned lot of them already.
Republicans have Stockholm syndrome and are like Pavlov’s friggin dogs for falling for this crap.
STOP PRETENDING A GOVERNMENT CAN REGULATE IT’S SELF!!!
I wish. Sundance would have explained that last sentence a bit further…..
Massie is a Republican that’s only going to protect the system Republicans are a part of… He’ll basically be Devin Nunes, Jim Jordan, MTG, Ted Cruz, (take your pick of any Republican name) version 2.0.
The entire idea of a committee with no means of anything beyond theatrical performances is a joke beyond jokes. For Massie to even go on TV and PRETEND this holds meaning tells you everything you need to know about him.
Lots could be said here, what can’t be said is that there is ANY semblance of the possibility of change.
Be prepared for a rash of sudden death in the congress at least the ones that can’t be be blackmailed. Of course it will be Russia, Russia,Russia’s fault.
It looks like MTG indeed did get her goal of subpoena power into the framework.
That was a big problem Devin Nunes / Kash Patel ran into during their Russiagate investigation. Paul Ryan would not give them subpoena power and Rod Rosenstein would not accept criminal referrals.
Shall we congratulate her on her bandaid for cancer? Even with absolute subpoena power a committee can do or change absolutely positively nothing.
That whole subject was a false or cover for what every person on Nunes’ committee already knew. Their only real power would have been to tell Congress in reply to disband or defund the agencies… You don’t need a subpoena to do that. A committee only needs a subpoena to drag out political dirt.
At some point we really have to stop pretending and lying to ourselves about how this is going to play out.
The govt gets bigger, you get smaller… And not one .001 of an inch of that moves in the other direction.
And that’s not me harping at you, we are only this lost because we absolutely refuse to be honest. I personally don’t need MTG to have a better ammo in a $hit throwing contest… I need this government to be cut by >90%.
Brava!
You spelled the second creep’s name wrong, it is Rat Rodentstain.
No doubt not just the 6, but the 20 have already BEEN/are being targeted by the I/C, for elimination.
Their efforts in the “Battle for the Speakership” guarantees it, and the I/C won’t make ANY distiction between the 6 and the 14; they will want to “make an example of them” to “send a message”, just like the J6 prisoners.
The challenge to McCarthy, was a challenge to the Uniparty, it was an attack on McConnell by proxie.
From the cabals point of view, they MUST “make them pay” to “send a message” that “THIS is what happens to those who defy us”, and not just withholding Committee assignments and perks.
Sundance maintains the 4th branch, created BY the Congress, is Independant of Congress,,I see it differently..
Yes, its disdainful of CONGRESS, as a whole.
However, so am I. I think Congress isn’t a deliberative body of 535, its a cabal of FOUR, with a lesser group of maybe 50.
The four are the R and D majority and minority leaders in both Houses, and their toadies.
I think the DOJ/FBI cabal were created/installed with their willing co-operation, and they work to protect that creation because IT DOES THEIR BIDDING.
To quote LOTR; McConnell and the CCP-USA (Uniparty) do NOT share POWER.
Yes, Obama and Holder created this mess, although actually BUSH set it up, but it is McConnell, thru the SSCI, that pulls the strings.
At least, thats what I think.
The Investigative Sub-Committee will also be limited to maybe threatening budgets of the various silos investigated as well as adding as much sunlight as their personnel preferences will permit via findings and hearings.
One MAJOR option of this committee is the REFERRAL of materials and findings to the DoJ. nowt he DoJ will NOT act or will dismiss the referrals but it would be worth the effort to publicly make the referrals along with publicizing the findings in the referrals. This would be a major blast of sunlight…both the referrals as well as the democrat DoJ NOT acting.
Forgive me if I’m underwhelmed and not at all impressed that Massie will be doing some lame investigation. I’ve been paying attention too long to know nothing will come of it. Even if he revealed everything I know enough Americans to know they are too stupid to be moved. They are too into their Instagram and Netflix to care.
The strategy of MAGA must be to be relentless. Start local where we can assemble face to face with the communities in which we live and are able to differentiate actors from real people. Where we have the right of true assembly.
Nationally, we have become lazy and dependent on media, social media, internet, social isolation “distancing” (a tool that is increasingly recognized as a tool of evil. Locally, we can have real relationships and interactions, training, and efforts to fix our local communities — as well as see the effects of national policies to effectively send and monitor our national representatives.
But if we are relentless and incessant in exponentially growing numbers, that are exponentially becoming more aware and able to ask effective questions, and able to assess more accurately and quickly — we can quickly outnumber the weaponized money making Uniparty organizations (Dims and RINOs). MAGA is about making a government effective at serving the people.
As we find more effective ways of witholding our money to: Taxes, the medical cabal, media, domineering monopoly corporations, we will find we have far more power that those we have given control now.
We can make it so they are force to resort to direct enslavement blatantly and lose the financial production capacity of the middle class.
I’ve noted very little discussion of economic warfare here. Comments like yours are dismissed or ignored. I find that odd for purported supporters of peaceful, lawful sand in the machinery.
Identifying the problems garners great support. Reminds me of the water cooler in the oilfields and why I decided to leave the workforce after the late 70’s. I got tired of the complaining and went out on my own to solve problems without all the lip flapping. IDK, maybe complaining is what bonds people.
Here’s another real life solution. Silence. Do not respond. Do not comply. Ignore Communist collaborators at all levels of civilian and government life. They hate being ignored. Eventually they go sideways and we can get to the real meat and potatoes of battle.
Just imagine if no one went to Minneapolis for shopping, sports, conventions, or even work, what would happen to the radical government. I will not even drive through the city at the risk of a breakdown and have to fork over my money to a Minneapolis tow truck. Starve them out with the power of the purse. Boycott anywhere and everything you can that is leftist liberal democrat.
We need a thread dedicated to helping us identify all the wokies.
I live in the south east corner of Washington state.(tri-cities) It’s been over ten years since I been to Seattle.
After so much sound and fury, many would welcome peace and quiet. However, that is not how most people operate.
Silence creates a void that will be recognized as an opportunity.
Yeah the social isolation. Here in Washington state when Inslee shut down the bars. Us regulars of a bar reconvened in a friends garage to continue our socialization.
I love your grit.
Yeah, let’s get to the bottom of that.
Where have we heard this before?!!!
If there was even a remote chance of anything coming about from these committees, the apparatus would have made sure republicans didn’t win the house. How anyone can celebrate the Kevin McCarthy, oh look we zip tied his hands behind his back while putting scissors in his back pocket, victory as SOH is beyond me. We might as well have Durham and Barr back doing the investigations. There is just no way out of this perpetual nightmare on Pennsylvania Avenue sh*t show we’re in.
If Branch 4 was a smoking hole and the earth salted, then investigate how the Republic allowed humans to go so wrong in the pursuit of absolute power.
Else, it’s simply more theater.
As for the democrat Senate SSCI countering the actions of this sub-committee … that did not work so well at least in terms of public opinion and actual veracity of the dueling reports published in 2018 …. the only thing saving the Senate was Paul Ryan sinking the report authored by Devin Nunes and then punishing Devin Nunes.
It will be telling to see how Speaker McCarthy acts if somebody like Jim Jordon (as House Judiciary Chair) and a feisty Sub-Committee lead writes a a really revealing findings as well as submits referrals to DoJ. [Note: the new House Rules to be voted upon Monday will also define the limits of the sub-committees actions.]
So Thomas Massie is the new Devin Nunes? Hire Kash Patel then and anyone else he says he needs.
People expect someone to give their lives to the cause? Some will give as much as they are able and fight until they cannot give anymore. It is not up to one person.
I wonder if a lot of this came about because conservatives always have spoken of smaller government. Which would mean a lot of people lose their cushy jobs and pensions. Remember what Reagan did with PATCO? Is this them trying save their positions in government? What would the reason be the earthly to rail against conservatives so much? My go to answer is always we fight against principalities not of this world.
Just writing out loud so to speak.
Because the original Church Committee was obviously so successful…
There Is No Oversight: The NSA Withheld Documents From Intelligence Committee Heads
Mar 28th 2014
https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20140327/08140826708/there-is-no-oversight-nsa-withheld-documents-intelligence-committee-heads.shtml
There has never been effective oversight of the NSA’s bulk collections programs, or indeed, intelligence agencies in general. There’s been a lot of noise made about this vaunted oversight in defense of programs revealed by leaked documents, but this is nothing more than a talking point.
At The Big Picture, a clip of Sen. John D. Rockefeller (then Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence) discussing how oversight actually works has been posted. It’s from an interview given in 2007, about the time the FISA Amendments Act was being put together to replace the expiring Protect America Act. The amendments act, among other things, extended the length of warrantless surveillance and gave telecoms retroactive immunity for their participation in the NSA’s bulk collections.
Here’s Sen. John D. Rockefeller explaining why, even back in 2007, intelligence agency oversight was a joke.
DAVIS: Reports quote administration officials as saying this is going on and it’s being done in a way to avoid oversight of the Intelligence Committee. Is there any way—
ROCKEFELLER: They’ll go to any lengths to do that, as we’ve seen in the last two days [during hearings on FISA].
DAVIS: Is there anything you could do in your position as Chairman of the Intelligence Committee to find answers about this, if it is in fact going on?
ROCKEFELLER: Don’t you understand the way Intelligence works? Do you think that because I’m Chairman of the Intelligence Committee that I just say I want it, and they give it to me? They control it. All of it. ALL of it. ALL THE TIME. I only get – and my committee only gets – what they WANT to give me.
Methinks the Rockefeller protested too much.
He was probably Mark Warner 1.0. Hell, he probably helped set up the whole shebang.
Rich people protecting their thugs and henchmen. This has been going on for centuries. Only Patriots will succeed in removing the jackboot from We the People’s throat.
