One of the greatest losses of 2022 was the assassination of former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, a man beloved for his dedication to his country. At the time of his murder Abe was leading a movement within government to reform the Japanese constitution and permit the assembly of a modern military as a bulwark against the rising influence of China.
During a rally to support reform candidates, Abe was assassinated by a young man named Yamagami Tetsuya. Tetsuya was a former member of the maritime defense forces where he served for three years; he used a homemade black powder shotgun to kill Abe. After his capture Tetsuya was put through a psychological evaluation to determine his competency to stand trial. After an evaluation investigators and prosecutors have determined Yamagami Tetsuya will face indictment for the murder of Shinzo Abe.
Japan – Investigative sources say Japanese prosecutors have decided to indict the suspect in the shooting death of former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, based on the results of psychiatric evaluation.
Public prosecutors in Nara, western Japan, sent Yamagami Tetsuya to a detention house to determine whether he can be held criminally responsible, following his arrest in July. The evaluation was conducted by interviewing the suspect about his family environment, his relationship with his mother and other matters.
Investigative sources say the prosecutors also determined that Yamagami is mentally fit to be tried, as he built handmade guns and carefully prepared for the attack by checking Abe’s campaign schedule.
The period of the suspect’s detention for mental evaluation will expire on January 10, and the prosecutors are expected to indict him by January 13, when his period of detention ends.
Yamagami fatally shot the former prime minister on July 8 during an election campaign speech in Nara. The suspect reportedly told police that he was motivated by a grudge against the religious group widely known as the Unification Church. He says he shot Abe because he believed the former prime minister had close ties with the group. He also claimed his mother’s huge donations to the group left his family in financial ruin. (more)
Shinzo Abe’s leadership and influence in Japan is sorely missed.
1954 – 2022
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was a transformative figure in Japanese politics. A devout nationalist with a humble demeanor, Abe shifted the national sentiment from post war apology toward an outlook of pride in Japanese culture, work ethic and traditional value. He was beloved by conservatives and patriots in Japan and disliked by leftists and globalists.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President Donald Trump were friends before Mr. Trump entered politics. First lady Melania Trump and Mrs Akie Abe were also friends, and the two couples spent a great deal of time together before and during President Trump’s term in office.
Abe was a great leader, patriot to his people; and tireless leader. Loved by the honest; despised by totalitarian wannabes. Pray, and be faithful; all will die, but truth cannot die. It’s not easy — never will be — but we shall prevail.
THEY can not possibly win.
They are Godless, attempting to make themselves Gods; that never works out well, for ANY who try.
They are trying to establish something which has NEVER existed, in the history of humanity; a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.
And, they ‘admire’ the CCP system’ because they admire the CONTROL CCP exerts over the population; but such control is never, and can never be”enough”.
They WILL fail, only question is how many will die prematurely, before their failure is universally recognised?
To the Abe family, please accept my humble condolences for such loss of a son, brother, father, husband and quiet thoughtful leader of Japan.
This man was one of a very few. We will never forget.
Good Photo of a Good Man
Yes. I love this one. Very sunny…in a Japanese way.
Amen.
The only other politician I really admired besides President Trump. He had a servant’s heart – serving the people – just like President Trump. No wonder they were close friends and their wives. A true loss.
The explanation of the motive of the shooter, reminds me of the Silicon Valley “nutjob shooter”, a woman who they said was motivated because she developed some sort of internet dependant business, and then got bumped off social media?
Don’t recall the details, but with what we now know ABOUT “Social media”,…makes me say “Hmmmm,…”
Maybe the same group responsible for political killings around the world and in this country removed Abe
Yes. Sundance points the finger when he points out that Abe was a nationalist and hated by globalists and leftists. Can’t have Japan running off the Trilateral Commission reservation any more than we can be allowed Trump or Brexit.
I’m thinking the same thing. Japan is very nationalistic and they can’t have that. Definitely not with a powerful military. The Japanese are still blamed for a sneak attack when FDR and our govt. knew it was coming. Japan was at war with China and we had soldiers in China. The U.S oil embargo being the main reason Japan attacked. FDR was trying desperately to get into the war against Germany. He baited Germany in the Atlantic constantly, but they wouldn’t take the bait. So he took action against the Japanese to get into the war. Japan would have been ruined with this oil embargo. You would wonder why FDR would want to go to war with Germany so badly when the entire country wanted nothing to do with another European war. After the attack on pearl harbor we give Japan “token pressure” and focus on Germany. Seems odd until you look at who makes up FDR’s cabinet. I’ll give you a hint. It looks almost identical to Bidens, and most U.S. presidents since after the war.
Vincent James just did a good video on bitchute about Kennedy:
The Unspoken and Forbidden Truth About Who Was Really Behind the Kennedy Assassination (bitchute.com)
IMHO the “elephant in the room” question is – how and why did Abe’s security detail allow the assassin to get as close as he did? That was the one question I never heard adequately addressed in the aftermath.
you really don’t want to get arrested in japan. I mean you really really really don’t want to ever have the police arrest you. For anything. If you kill someone, it is even far worse. If you kill the prime minister, your life as you know it, is over.
While I do admire Prime Minister Abe, it is also important to note that Abe did nothing to reform the civil rights and police state issues that exist in Japan.
Japan has a 99 percent conviction rate. Let that sink in.
you can be held for 23 days in detention without any formal charges. Detention and the place of jail is subject to a decision of the police. During this time, you may or may not be allowed to seek legal counsel or even speak to family members.
the japanese legal system is what you would never want to happen in America.
One of the biggest travesties in my view is that with all the influence from the US and the west, post ww2, Japan remains one of the most hardcore police nation states.
There are very few advocacy groups who has access to courts to argue for release of those wrongfully charged or sentenced.
And I am not talking about serious violent crimes either. Nope. You are accused by someone and that is enough to get your immediately arrested, detained, charged in secret, confessions forces, and then that is used against you for a conviction and sentencing.
Frankly, I do not have a high regard for Prime Minister Abe. He certainly held power long enough to make some headway into a proper and more fair and equal use of police power. And I also recognize that he cannot make law from an edict.
But clearly he has never made a single public statement or any political action to advances changes or even get the debate going. For that alone, I consider the man to have been dangerous to Japanese people and foreign travelers.
I know three people who were arrested in Japan in the late 90’s. Two were military people on active duty. The two on active duty were released from detention only after the CO demanded their release under SOFA terms. The other a civilian was detained for almost 2 years, charged for obstruction (he would not confess), and spent another 5 months in jail.
nearly every single case goes to trial in japan. with few exceptions.
that is the modern Japan. And it hasn’t changed significantly in any way since post ww2.
99 percent conviction rate. You can’t read that and not understand what that means.
Abe was many things, but due process and basic legal protections under the basic tenants of innocent until proven guilty was not a top priority under his lengthy watche(S).
to put this in perspective, china has a conviction rate of around 98 percent.
the US has a conviction rate around 90 percent. However and this is important to understand:
if you took away the number of illegal entry cases that go to trial (illegal migrants, mostly from South America and Mexico), that conviction rate goes way way way down. closer to 50 percent.
it is also true that unlike japan, and china, most cases never go to trial. Meaning, many cases are dismissed/thrown out, and or a guilt plea is made. This is not true in Japan or china. nearly ALL cases go to trial, few are dismissed and thrown out and the methods of forcing confessions is the means to get a trial, conviction and sentence.
I admire Abe for many things, but the police state in Japan is very real. Archaic and brutal.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe that the US ought to arrest and charge and convict a vast number of crimes but I would rather live in a society where some scumbags get lucky and walk, rather than lock every single person up that gets arrested. That’s not what I would want here in the US.
I loved Japan..visited many times. spent almost 14 months in chiba and shinjuku. But I was very aware and was briefed to understand how the police operate. It’s not a great place to be if someone accuses you of a crime I can tell you that. And that’s all it takes. Just an accusation. Any. they will sweep you up faster than you can say “I want my phone call”…which they will and do ignore. It has not meaning in Japan. Sure, there are certain niceties and customs to present the illusion of proper policing..all the etiquette in the world doesn’t disguise that reality though.
Is this Abe’s fault….nope..but he had the power and the political influence to reform. And he ignored it.
I hope the guy who shot him will also get a chance to actually tell his side of the story about what actually happened to his mother and why it matters that Abe was a strong supporter of a fraudulent cult!
Not advocating violence and murder, but there is a real story here and there is no doubt that Abe was a creepy asshole like so many Japanese leaders around him and before him and certainly to follow.
Not a fan
God Bless America
What did you get arrested for?
Japan is not the West…….regardless of the finer and artistic aspects of its culture. Yes, there is beauty. But the Japanese still consider us Westerners to be barbarians and outsiders. That will never change.
heh
I was never arrested and never made that claim. As you sundance I am often in a position to help others who are uniformed, or weak or at the serious end of a unfair legal system, and corruption. I meant no disrespect to your article. But I cannot resist the need to register my own views wrt to ABE. we all find ourselves the outcomes of our own world real experiences. Japan is not a free society. it IS a police state. Not the worst, but among “westernized” south asian nation states, it continues to cling to a culture that is ambivalent to the hardcore practice of jackboots. jmho.
if you want to observe what happens in japan, just to illustrate a point, go protest against mrna vaccines in public.
if you think it’s bad here in the USA, you will get your eyes opened..spend lots of time rotting in jail, not charged until you cough up a “confession”.
japan has a long history and culture of obedience to the state. The individual, the freedom to exercise your voice, written or oral, comes at a price. it usually follows that you are fired from whatever job that you have. People conform in Japan because of this constant awareness to keep your head low.
if YOU sundance, lived in japan and published some of the same kinds of journalism that showed evidence of corruption or even suspicion of it…you would be arrested…your website removed and banned from any public access.
that is the reality in japan. No one speaks up because the threat it real.
God Bless America
“you can be held for 23 days without formal charges” Tell that to the J6 political prisoners.
now you begin to understand the vast scope of the PROBLEM. right? right
Can you believe this hater left that out like all dems and rinos do?
That’s a long explanation for “I like it here but I want to follow the rules as I see fit.” If you were well informed of these conditions beforehand, you don’t have reason to complain about how the legal system works there. Just a polite observation.
I don’t see his explanation as a mere complaint about Japan’s legal system, but rather just a stating of the facts of Japanese law from someone who lived there. My husband also lived there, for six years, when he was in the Navy, and he attests to what the poster said is true. And no, my husband never got in trouble there. He loves Japan.
Japan is a very old culture, and it is not a Western culture. The Japanese think differently than Westerners. So do the Chinese. And all their advanced technology and interest in all things American, their love for touring America, for example, isn’t going to turn it into a Western culture, and certainly not a Christian one. And as far as that is concerned, Christian missionaries will tell you that Japan is a very, very difficult mission field.
Abe’s assassination was tragic, and his murderer should be brought to justice. That is a separate issue from Japan’s legal system.
Which is completely off topic. Which our benevolent hosts ask us not to do here.
Sundance wrote an update specifically about the late Shinzo Abe. You are free to Japan-bash anywhere else, however.
Nowhere did I “Japan-bash”, and guess what, Alleycats? I’m not going “anywhere else’ to do that either. And furthermore, I’m not off topic.
I followed all laws in every country that I have ever traveled and visited. That does not mean that I am comfortable and agreeable to those terms. Same is true here in the USA. to be clear
“I would rather live in a society where some scumbags get lucky and walk, rather than lock every single person up that gets arrested.”
I wouldn’t. I want all scumbags locked up so they can’t harm other people.
Maybe the Japanese don’t bring cases to court that can’t be won.
Blackstone’s Ratio: Is it more important to protect innocence or punish guilt? | Cato Institute
“The American system, grounded in the British Common Law, has long erred on the side of protecting innocence. Thus we presume an accused person’s innocence until they are proven guilty. As the preeminent English jurist William Blackstone wrote,”[B]etter that ten guilty persons escape, than that one innocent suffer.” This principle can also be found in religious texts and in the writings of the American Founders. Benjamin Franklin went further arguing “it is better a hundred guilty persons should escape than one innocent person should suffer.”
Other notable historical figures have worried more about punishing the guilty. For instance German chancellor Otto von Bismarck is believed to have remarked: “it is better that ten innocent men suffer than one guilty man escape.” Che Guevara and 20th century communist movements in China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, also employed similar reasoning.”…….
Then there’s the Hillary Clinton-model: “Better to gun down the innocent on a DC sidewalk at 3 am than to convict me.”
This country is done, put a fork in it.
that is the reality of our constitution and bill of right applied correctly. In that system, it is better than a bad man walk free than an innocent man be convicted for a crime he is innocent. This might strike “some” as weird, but numerous founding fathers (and ancient biblical and thus english law), were very aware of the dangers of radical justice gone amok. This is one of the many reasons so many Americans (and westerners) denounce the legal practices (and abomination) of islamic justice. Throw a sexual pervert off a roof? throw stones until dead a worman WHO HUSBAND committed adulterty simply because she dared to speak out about the cheating?
in japan, it is just as bad. No stones…no sexual perverts getting thrown from tall (or short) buildings, but the fact remains that japan is a police state. Whether we notice or not and pay attention to legal cases that take place each and every day. When you are convicted in Japan, there is not redemption…not way to restore your life. You are an outcast and remain that way for the rest of your life. You want to see obedient lemmings …look at japan. It’s become an etched society.
protip: the real reason why a maga type of tea party political effort has never mobilized in japan to overthrow the nepotism, corruption and fraud is because of the police state. Make one “wrong” remark, and they will find a crime you have violated. And quickly. it’s just a fact of how things are in Japan.
God Bless America
To regitiger–Briefer posts are more appreciated.
The Japanese are not tedious or prolix. Try to do the same.
and there lies the issue (s0me of it).. shallow might be quaint…but it is never accurate
For all the anti gun folks…
This assassin built an armament of wood, pipe, electrical trigger, tape, black powder, home made slugs, to murder a politician and former leader of a nation.
Aha! If only they would outlaw ghost guns, as we have….. Not. Nor did the assassin “build” it. That is an untraceable weapon issued to the agent by his clown handlers. That’s all.
Yes he built it, and others in his apartment. The point here is a determined man, for whatever reason completed his task..
But he had to get very close to Abe to shoot the man; videos made that clear. So the weapon was not accurate at any distance.
Only because he didn’t do any rifling to the barrel.
Rifling does nothing for shot.
At close range you don’t need to be accurate…and I believe one design consideration the assassin took to account.
Thats my point. Why was he allowed to get so close to Abe? Seems like someone in his security detail had aided the setup……
Security over time suffers lapses. Conspiracy is often a convenient excuse for incompetence.
Speaking of friends of Trump, in addition to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Brazil’s president Bolsonaro is not going to attend the inauguration of Lula. He is going to accept the invitation offered by President Trump to visit Mar-a-Lago.
Lots of main stream media coverage about President Bolsonaro leavin on a scheduled flight Wednesday on the Presidential plane to Orlando and that he was going to spend some time at Mar-a-Lago.
But apparently President Bolsonaro denied this. He reached out to CNN Brasil (their spelling is w “s” not “z”)
Translation:
Bolsonaro Denies Trip to the United States
Published 1 day ago on 12/28/22
The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, in a note sent to CNN Brasil, denied the rumors that he will travel to the United States.
“Farewell meeting? Fake. I’m not leving tomorrow either. Fake”, said the representative.
On Tuesday (27), the traditional press repeatedly reported that Bolsonaro would travel to Florida and stay at the fomer president’s residents (Mar-a-Lago)

Brave man.
Set up? No way of knowing but the Chinese / American motive is there. It is also an observed technique to identify an emotionally disturbed actor and then coach him to turn his resentment into assassination. That way the agency can claim separation form the plot, and the patsy is pre-provided. Lone gunman all day long.
CHY-NA.
I wonder if the raid on Mar-a-Lago confiscated the golden Honma driver Trump was given to by Shinzo.
Would not be surprised
Trump and Abe–both great men. A rarity.
cia….
or k mafia….????
A strong Trump ally/supporter; his assassination was just another coincidence.
He and Trump were good friends, so of course he had to be eliminated. Putin has much better security then poor Abe did.
A big loss in Japan. It was pretty shocking to me considering that he wasn’t even running the country. Says a lot about our politics when they fear monger about the “far-right” over here, when in other countries that contingent can go so far as killing an ex-leader. We are probably not as bad as people say we are.
Hit man paid for by the CIA.
