Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee used an arcane law, well over 100 years old that permits the Chairman Committee, Chair Richard Neal (D-Mass.), to review the personal tax filings of any American, in order to obtain Donald Trump’s personal tax filings from the IRS.
However, even in the hands of the committee, strict privacy laws still applied to the tax filings unless the committee interceded and voted to make them public. That’s exactly what the Democrats in the committee did today with a party-line vote.
The Democrats have set a new precedent in congress for any party in power to demand the tax filings of any individual American and then release them to the public. When the Republicans take control of the committee in January 2023, will they demand the Tax returns of Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden, or Mark Zuckerberg, or Chuck Schumer, or Jeffrey Epstein, or Nancy & Paul Pelosi and then make them public?
WASHINGTON DC – House Democrats said they will release several years worth of former President Donald Trump’s tax returns in the coming days after a party-line vote Tuesday night to make the long-hidden filings public.

That is better but still not good enough. We need to have them release ALL the tax filings of every senator and congressman (current or former) as well as president and vice president as well as every family, charity, and/or company that they work for or have a vested interest in since Bush senior took office in the 80s. The corruption goes back more than 40 years but this will let everyone see a broader picture of the corruption as well as the world actors as a whole.

The new Republican House Tax Committee needs to make public the tax returns of every living President and their immediate family, every living current and former Senator and Representative and their immediate families, every federal bureaucrat, every head of every union, every current and former cabinet member and their immediate families, and every state and local elected official and their immediate families.
Also, every person who qualifies to run for any federal, state, and local election.
I thought they got the returns by using a law that allows congress to audit how the irs audits a president’s tax returns.
So, if that is the case, it is only a precedent about doing this with a president’s tax returns.
