The logic within the research outline is silly. Unvaccinated people have a 72% higher rate of severe vehicle accidents than vaccinated drivers according to the study.
Could it be the difference between rural vs metropolitan populations; one drives frequently, for longer durations and distances, while the other does not?
Apparently, that type of commonsense possibility did not make it into the analysis. However, the authors of the study do suggest insurance companies should start considering insurance risk hikes based on vaccination status.

Or at least those are the findings of a new study published this month in The American Journal of Medicine. During the summer of 2021, Canadian researchers examined the encrypted government-held records of more than 11 million adults, 16% of whom hadn’t received the COVID vaccine.
They found that the unvaccinated people were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crash—in which at least one person was transported to the hospital—than those who were vaccinated. That’s similar to the increased risk of car crashes for people with sleep apnea, though only about half that of people who abuse alcohol, researchers found.
The excess risk of car crash posed by unvaccinated drivers “exceeds the safety gains from modern automobile engineering advances and also imposes risks on other road users,” the authors wrote.
Of course, skipping a COVID vaccine does not mean that someone will get into a car crash. Instead, the authors theorize that people who resist public health recommendations might also “neglect basic road safety guidelines.”
Why would they ignore the rules of the road? Distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, “faith in natural protection,” “antipathy toward regulation,” poverty, misinformation, a lack of resources, and personal beliefs are potential reasons proposed by the authors.
The findings are significant enough that primary care doctors should consider counseling unvaccinated patients on traffic safety—and insurance companies might base changes to insurance policies on vaccination data, the authors suggest. (read more)

I don’t doubt their interpretation of the “data”, obtained from patient medical bills, reflects that. I do strongly doubt the accuracy of the interpretation of the ICD-10 codes on the bills, however, since the code V89.2XXA is for “person injured in unspecified motor vehicle accident, traffic”, and does not specify if the unvaccinated person was the driver or a passenger in a public bus. They conveniently proceed to conflate “unvaccinated people” with “unvaccinated drivers.”

It’s more likely they analyzed scores of correlations and this one happened to stand out as adverse to the unvaxxed.
I’d be interested to see the long list of correlations associated with being vaxxed that they ignored in their pursuit to find this one thing they could pin on the unvaxxed.

The one and only factor to remember in all of these studies and research is the government pays for a specific result to be arrived at by groups of scientists that live or die from the money received from the government. If they want to continue to receive funding for their projects, they better come up with the result the government is looking for or they will be working second and third jobs or standing in the welfare line. I do not trust studies and research that has been funded by the government because manipulation of the results is guaranteed for political reasons.

Did the study look at vaxx’d people were more likely to stay home and off the roads? This is a Canadian study, I don’t remember the facts about the ages of those being mandated to vaxx. What ages were required? Teens have more vehicle accidents.

Just read the original research. The unvaccinated cohort that are crashing are young adults in rural area’s involving alcohol. They’re drinking and taking drugs because of depression brought on by government lockdowns.

Patience. The insurance companies will raise rates if the government coerces or entices them to do so, but then ask them why they are not lowering rates for the vaccinated, and since these companies rely on accurate cause and effect to avoid going flat broke, they will show you what the real causes are. From what I have heard from the insurance folks is that small plane and single vehicle automobile crashes are up 300% since the jab was introduced. That is the only variable that has changed, jabbed = more crashes. I know I am seeing more single vehicle crashes out here, and so are my other truck driving friends. It is getting ridiculous out here with all of these crashes, there are that many.

According to the study, there is no statistical significance between rural and non-rural, so that can be ruled out.
It is interesting that the study doesn’t distinguish if the crash victim was the driver, passenger, or pedestrian.
Aside from not being vaccinated and alcohol misuse, the biggest drivers are being young, male, and depressed.
A lower economic standing and previously having Covid increases the risks moderately.

There is no increased risk in refusing to take a medicine that itself carries a risk for not having been properly clinically tested.

If this is true, how does it compare to the risk of driving while vaccinated? I know single and multicar wrecks have increased significantly due to sudden heart attacks and strokes. I saw one just the other day. A person in the left turn lane got a green arrow, passed out mid-turn, and plowed straight into the oncoming lane. As we were passing, another passerby pulled out the driver and started chest compressions.
