Many people were caught off guard by the rather humous slight, aka a shot across the bow as subtle as a brick through a window; however, it’s likely President Trump was responding to the latest, well, rather cringy campaign ad from the Florida governor’s campaign, “Ron is God.” WATCH:
$200 million in Wall Street and corporate donations buys a lot of hubris. Add that money to the echo-chambered DeSantis campaign branding group, mix in a few detached billionaires amid the cocktail circuit, and what you get is a cringeworthy ad in the same theme as the Ted Cruz campaign in 2016. I was one of them. I have made a half a dozen trips from NC to FL in the past year or so, to look for property and to find medical care I was denied because I would not wear a mask.
I had convinced myself that de Santis was the first nullification governor I’d seen. Nullification is IMO the only way out of this totalitarian federal system
We were closing in on a few properties to build a home. My first surgery was arranged this summer – no mask for the exams and testing. Just before the trip back for the surgery, the surgical center called to make sure I would be wearing a mask (only to have it immediately removed). I told them about de Santis’ nullification, and they told me they followed CDC not Florida policy. I refused and they cancelled the surgery. Once i asked the hard questions., all hospitals, most surgical centers and most surgeons admitted the same would happen because of federal insurance regulations.
Still, I eventually found another private surgical center that did not require masks. I realized the feds were still controlling things but, de Santis had paved the way for some freedom. So by end of summer the surgery was complete and we were ready to buy some land..
Then came the Mar-a-Lago raid. de Santis had stabbed Trump in the back and I knew there was no other way to look at it. It was not de Santis the fighter. It was de Santis the Manchurian.

Think I recall Trump asking to open back up but it was mostly democrat governors who refused…kept schools closed…..You can blame Trump for being fooled initially about the severity I think we all were…but many quickly figured it out. According to the Constitution/States rights …Trump could not step in and take control of state governments. If on the other hand he had declared Insurrection act or maybe Marshall law, Trump could have over ruled the communist Governors. Think I recall Kemp being the first Governor to open back up but that doesn’t change my mind that he is a crook. DeSantis is not a crook nor is he gods gift to man. I consider the things he did as governor should have been a minimum requirement and just plain common sense. We have been so deprived that his actions seemed above and beyond…..they were not. First, Trump has a wicked sense of humor. The guy is genuinely funny and knows how to lighten the moment, no matter what the moment is.
Second, Trump’s timing on this is questionable. Just as throwing the Leftists out of office in 2024 is a critical goal, so is defeating them in 2022 – thoroughly, decisively, overcoming the baked in cheat with everything we have. That’s the immediate priority. Nothing short of an existential threat to the Republic manifesting itself in two days should preclude us from this immediate political priority, and mocking a governor who, no matter his associations or support, is currently on the front lines in the culture wars against rampant Marxism, and facing re-election in two days, is bad timing. Trump himself supported McConnell and Graham for re-election becasue, tactically, he thought it was important to his administration, not because he didn’t know the kind of snakes they were.
Everything that’s been said about DeSantis on this site is correct. If that offends anyone for me to type that, just know that I’ve never put any politician on a pedestal, including Trump. We err in treating any of them like celebrities. I’m not going to “fangirl” over any of these people. They serve and warrant support during good behavior. So when I see people who’ve worked to tear down the Republic supporting and lauding DeSantis, and when I see him EMBRACING such support…let’s just say my “Lucy with the football” moments are few and far between. DeSantis needs to remain in Florida and continue under ‘good behavior’ to do what he has been doing. His opportunism, and willingness to embrace the statist cohort of the Republican party, should disturb you. If they elect him to the presidency, they will own him, despite what he, or you, hope.
But Trump’s timing here stinks. It’s not all about him. He will tack a poll with the “fake” moniker in a moment if it doesn’t flatter his ego, but proudly proclaim it if does, even one that shows his chief political rival in a distant second. Because as much as he loves this country, and he does, apparently, it’s about him, and he can’t get out of the way of his own ego. DeSantis is positioning himself as the Uniparty darling, to save the country from the revanche of the Great Unwashed, and Trump knows that and seeing himself as our protector, he naturally goes on the attack because that’s his personality. But two days before a critical election is not the time. It’s a good shot, especially given that horrible campaign commercial that dares to present DeSantis as some divine gift. But there is no reason in the world it could not have waited until Wednesday, except that Trump’s ego would not allow it. And that’s a problem.

When Inaugurated, President Trump said that it was not about transferring power from one party to another. Instead it marked the transfer of power from DC so it returns to the American people where it belongs.
President Trump wasn’t just saying words. He meant it. However many listeners didnt understand the implications of what they heard.
With power comes responsibilities; responsibilities citizens weren’t used to.
For example, securing elections is the responsibility of every citizen and their state legislators. President Trump did NOT have the Constitutional authority to do that job and didnt.
However, he began warning Americans of existing election problems in 2017, including inaccurate voter rolls.
By 2020 he began issuing regular warnings around changes being made Democrats that would increase the chances of fraud in November.
Obviously, his warnings weren’t heeded by those who could have handled the problems he was pointing out.
Consequently Americans had to go through this near death experience; A series of national near death experiences that hit thats finally getting people to wake up, realize the grave danger they’re in, grow up and finally find the will/ motivation to fix the rampant problems including corrupt elections.

While both have done good things for Americans, Trump for the country and DeSantis for the residents of Florida, both in certain actions and words have messed up, like all people do.
Both these men share an appreciation for energy independence, for secure borders and well managed immigration, for strict drug enforcment, for the bulk of responsiblity to be in state and not central government hands, for promoting small businesses, for proper law and order, for the importance of normal families and more.
It will be sad if either or both of these men hurt the establishment of a government that enables citizens to live a “peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” This is why Christians should be praying for all in authority for this and for God to give their leaders wisdom and compassion.

As much as Trump has done, I’d like someone to tell me why Donald Trump doesn’t bear a large degree of responsibility for the massive failure of inflicting the ineffective, poorly tested COVID jabs on the public. From all appearances, Operation Warp Speed was his idea. It’s now clear that it wasn’t thought through, and especially that the progress towards creating genuine vaccines that are genuinely safe was not adequately monitored.
Granted, the Biden admin turned it into an authoritarian nightmare, but the Trump admin clearly waved it through.
Trump didn’t inflict the vaccines on anyone. The drug companies didn’t even announce that they had developed a vaccine until after the election.
Trump could not be expected to be a doctor or be able to check the vaccine’s effectiveness. And he didn’t pretend to be. He did develop Operation Warp Speed to help with the development of a vaccine to HELP PEOPLE. Do you remember how everyone was saying Trump isn’t doing enough, how the media was ramping the fear, when he was doing everything he could to mitigate Covid?

Operation Warp Speed was his idea. The press and a lot of others said an effective vaccine couldn’t be developed in 12 months or less. In this instance, they were sadly right (and they remind us of all of this if Trump is the nominee). The vaccine is clearly ineffective and really isn’t even a genuine vaccine, despite all the CDC/Biden admin play-acting and wordsmithing.
How can it be that Trump, who clearly had to understand by early 2020 that the Deep State, including the medical/scientific establishment, could not be presumptively trusted, is not accountable for any of this?

I wonder if Pence, if he had been truly discerning, would have recognized the value of certain people that could have given Trump good advice and help him see through people like Fauci and Birx. I was surprised by the choice of Pence for VP but had high hopes that I would be proved wrong in my doubts. While Trump is responsible for a number of bad decisions, I suspect he was used to getting better advice in the business world and placed too much trust in people he gave great responsibilities. Several days ago, Palm Beach County Chairman Micheal Barnett told local Palm Beach Media that if Donald Trump declares for 2024, he will be first to endorse. Although he was speaking for himself, the statement was made at PB Republican HQ on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. I witnessed this. I do not know who is trying to drive a wedge between Trump and DeSantis but it is, in my opinion, to give those remarks any credence. I have heard from donors myself that DeSantis will not challenge Trump.
Here is another “anonymous sources” telling the the less than reliable Gabriel Sherman that DeSantis will NOT challenge Trump. This is, however, consistent with what I am hearing.

I do not know the purpose of making this an issue, that DeSantis will challenge Trump. There is no evidence that I know of that DeSantis intends to challenge Trump and, if he did, he would lose in Palm Beach County which any Republican would need to win Florida.

I’ve been grateful to live in Florida for the pandemic compared to most states. Gov. DeSantis pushed back, albeit belatedly, on the mandates and restrictions that had been imposed on the citizens that had no business ever being imposed in the first place. And his push back was largely ignored in the D-controlled parts of the state like Broward county until he suspended the fines that were being assessed by local jurisdictions. In Florida we had to play hide-and-seek from LEO in boats and on shorelines chasing us from beaches for a time. Point being, the first six months were only marginally better in much of Florida than other states. And, like other states, the worst infringements on liberty were in the urban areas. Even under the worst D governors the rural areas of states like NY, MI, CA, etc largely ignored the mandates, as much as the urban areas under the best R governors largely ignored the lifting of emergency state powers and continued with their tyranny. This is the reality check of the pandemic. The worst offenders against liberty were the local governments, not states. Though state leadership set the tone and tenor of the local debates.
DeSantis, while I’ve appreciated his tone and tenor of the debates favoring freedom and his Surgeon General pick being the best in the nation, has led with a lot of bark but very little bite to back it up. His orders for schools to return to in-class instruction and lift mandatory masking were ignored for a year or so, until all legal challenges were exhausted and local officials relented. Funny how legal challenges to the restrictions were never heard or dismissed by courts within days, but removal of the restrictions took courts months and years to resolve.
Under Gov. DeSantis, Florida passed a comprehensive vaccine registry bill in 2020-2021 that violates medical privacy and opens citizens up to harassment and government sanctions if not in compliance. Which means that during the pandemic, as DeSantis was championing individual liberty, freedom and choice, he secured passage of new laws that gave MORE power to state officials to restrict said individual liberty, freedom and choice. Actions. Not words.
Also, Florida already has the most draconian public health emergency powers laws on the books of any other state in the nation. More authoritarian, dictatorial powers than even health officials in NY, CA, MI have. Passed under Jeb Bush, following 9-11. In anticipation of a bioterror attack. That Bush-led effort was ultimately softened in the rest of the states when they passed model health emergency power legislation created after Florida’s draconian measures were passed, many of the most stringent Florida powers lacking broad support. Meanwhile, Florida’s terrible laws remain on the books. Citizens only protected by the discretion of elected officials.
Which leads us to discuss the successor to DeSantis, be it in 2024 or 2026. His Lt. Gov. is Jeannette Nunez. Nunez’s background is in Big Medical, bigly. She was the Government Affairs and Policy Director for one of the largest health systems in the nation, Jackson Memorial Health, based in Miami-Dade county. She’s also worked for and served on the boards of several other large hospitals in south Florida. She’s been in the Big Medical industry before and during her time as state representative, where she became a part of the real GOP political machine in Tallahassee. From where she was tapped by DeSantis as his Lt. Gov. running mate.
Something is very foul about that link. Big Medical supports genitally mutilating children, wants DOJ to arrest Americans questioning the procedures. Supports other related medical harm like puberty blockers, chemical castration, etc. The medical industry that no longer recognizes gender on birth certificates, signs off on men competing as women in athletic competitions, officially designating men as women on official medical records. Supports giving medically unnecessary poison jabs to children for “protection” from diseases that pose no threat to them. Supports masking children and adults, even those with respiratory ailments, knowing they are harmful both medically and socially while only providing placebo “comfort” to the germophobes and frightened…knowing masks only heighten general fear in society, chosen for the desired NPI effect of scaring people from normal interactions. That Big Medical industry is who Florida Lt. Gov. Jeannette Nunez represents.
So Floridians are in a very precarious situation and at a crossroads with Gov. DeSantis in office, likely reelected, with ambitions to be somewhere else in two years. Floridians MUST make health freedom the focus of the upcoming legislative session in Tallahassee. The draconian Jeb Bush-led medical emergency powers from the early 2000’s must be repealed. Especially the involuntary removal and quarantining in camps of those deemed public health threats by health officials and the mandatory vaccination authority laws. And the vaccine registry laws just passed and signed by DeSantis in 2020-2021. DeSantis must lead these efforts. Floridians need to make him back up his rhetoric about health freedom and put bite into his bark about it. Actions, not just words. Necessary to bind his successor. To bind his Lt. Governor. A shill for Big Medical tyranny. Lurking in the shadows.
CTH has a lot of Floridians who read it, including Sundance. Health freedom an independent, but related issue to the Trump-DeSantis 2024 contest. Because at the end of the day, it’s all about protecting our individual liberty and freedom we are endowed by our creator with. And we’ve seen that those most precious rights are taken away from us most at the local and state level, not federal. This is where the battle closest to home is.
