One of our nieces is getting married in Florida the first week in December. Although we were looking forward to going, we have now changed our minds. We would only go if we drove, and the idea of getting stuck without fuel is something we need to take seriously. Getting stuck somewhere between Florida and northern Minnesota in December and having no way to get home would not be good.

I went ahead and got off-road diesel today not because it was cheap, but because I needed it. I figured the $5/gal was about the best I could expect for a while. The 100 gallons will last me well into next year. I have already treated it for storage. My dealer said that for now there is no shortage here in Kentucky. It is tight, but they have been able to get what they need and supplies seemed to be loosening rather than tightening.

Just finished a book by Baldacci, titled “The Whole Truth”. Amazing the similarities in what is coming out of this WH…. and this particular book was published in 2008! It referenced “Perception Management” big time!

Apparently Baron Trump’s life and Barron Trump’s life have a lot of similarities.
Ingersoll Lockwood was born in 1841 and died in 1918, and people were saying he was a time traveler, or that President Trump was a time traveler who met Ingersoll, or that Barron Trump ends up being a time traveler who meets Ingersoll — just because of the things he wrote.
I didn’t read any of the Baron Trump stories, but before the 2020 election I decided to go online (I think the National Archive) and read the very short book, ‘The Last President’ by Ingersoll Lockwood.
It was very depressing to read, and very much reminded me of what was happening in our country at the time. As the book ends it tells the story of how our country ends, too.

Regular Unleaded gasoline here was fixed at $2.35/ gal. for months before Brandon took office. It changed almost immediately afterward- maybe 2-3 weeks later at most.

He maligned the poor man who was involved in the accident in which his first wife died by insinuating that it was his fault when it was clear that she was the one who caused the accident. I hate to say this, but I believe Joe knew exactly what he was saying when he claimed gas was over $5/gallon before he took office. This lying sack believes that all a Democrat has to do is show plausible deniability and his version of the facts is correct. He was basically careful to say “before I took office”. Indeed, several years before he took office, gasoline did rise above $5/gallon in California. This is the kind of lying Biden specializes in. He always has told these lies because it makes him feel like he is smarter than his detractors when he can plausibly deny that his comment was a lie. Biden has been doing this stunt for his entire life.
Obama learned this behavior from old Joe. Other than being the best life insurance policy Obama could get, Biden could help him by coming up with these little jewels every now and then. Plausible deniability quickly became Obama’s game and it was very disheartening to watch the media start howling at his opponents for suggesting he was telling lies.

What has me really freaked is that my 18 pound bag of middle of the road cat food is now $31.99 a bag! When I first started purchasing it around nine years ago it was $14.99, slowly over the years it creeped up in price but nothing that bothered me. Paying $64.00 for two bags of cat food bothers me greatly. Catteroos might have to start eating rice, or mice.
Thing is I had a stockpile of it and haven’t had to purchase any for almost two years. I would replenish a bag here and there as I went along, but it has been a while since I purchased any. Last I paid for it was $21.99. The cashier said they had just raised the prices, w/a “Crazy, Right?”

Can’t remember the year off the top of my head right now, but around 2010-2012 I drove out to Seattle with two of my sisters to visit another sister who was dying of cancer. Not only did we go there during one of the worst heat waves the north pacific had seen, but at one point I was paying close to $5 a gallon for gas.
I thought the price was crazy high, was glad to get back to crazy Minnesota, but thought I’d never seen gas in the $2.00 range again.
