“Gaslighting” is essentially a term used to describe an abuser continually lying to victim in order to make the victim misbelieve reality.
Economic “gaslighting” is a process of lying about the nature of true cause in order to continue advancing the abusive policy.
Combine the economic gaslighting with the historic leftist approach of pretending not to know things, and you get this dynamic on CBS Face the Nation today. In this brief segment describing inflation, we see all the classic strategies deployed by ideological media.
First, notice they blame: (1) the pandemic recovery, (2) consumer demand, (3) Ukraine, and (4) a supply chain ‘muddle’. Not only are these issues ridiculous, but none of them are the cause of supply side inflation. Blaming “consumer demand,” which has transparently collapsed for the last year, is beyond nonsense. WATCH, and also pay attention to the graphics they use to manipulate the audience:
The true cause of inflation, and yes that includes ‘global inflation‘, is the collective western economy jump into climate change energy policy known as “build back better.” Stopping the use of oil, gas and coal as the source for cheap energy, has resulted in every element of the inflation they outline.
As an outcome of their ideology, the central banks of the western economies are now trying desperately to lower economic activity to reduce energy consumption. The goal is to lower human activity to the point where windmills and solar farms can sustain it. Everything else is pretending.

Notice the synergy between the western economies who are following the Build Back Better climate change instructions from the World Economic Forum (yellow map) to the actions of the central banks who are trying to support the political agenda (blue map).
Coming out of the pandemic, western oil, coal and gas energy development was blocked. Immediately energy prices skyrocketed, driving up the costs of everything. Using the justification of “too much demand” the central banks (including the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank) are raising interest rates to lower the need for energy.
Western political leaders are pretending this is not a collective intention.
This is all being done by specific design.
Controlling a global population; controlling human activity; is the collective goal.

Prices don’t simply rise of their own accord, but I think you have to include rampant federal spending and the creation of currency and credit that make it possible, for completeness.
Other things equal (or as economists say, ceteris paribus), yes, these things can increase inflation, but that’s not what is happening here. Sundance is right that the inflation we are experiencing now is entirely supply driven, specifically, by western economies desiring to reduce fossil fuel consumption. Money growth figures have been normal for a while now since the pandemic, so there is absolutely no need for the Fed to try to crush consumer demand, and thereby cause job losses and economic turmoil for the working class.
An additional $8 trillion was dumped in the economy over the last 2 years. I don’t think that’s insignificant.
It, however, is indeed dwarfed by deliberate energy supply cutbacks in all Western nations.

Given that it is now OBVIOUS that they are trying to shut down oil production, I think past actions need to be viewed in a new light.
For instance, the Maiden revolution set up what has followed in Ukraine, which is obviously intendex to shut down oil production in Russia.

Here is one to watch to examine these same kinds of global market making: crypto and mining. Now that proof of stake is the de facto means to “prove” block chain, means the milllions of GPU chips are now unnecessary. About 99 percent of the GPU market was sold to crypto mining farms. This created a “bubble” were prices for even entry level chips went sky high and even unavailable. Now that this market has shifted away from that “mode”, we should expect to see GPU chips fall in prices. But will they?
why would major GPU chip markers drop prices now, and what will their global investors think about that?
prediction: GPU’s are now a threat to global climate change. scarcity will happen and prices will remain at least as high as before and probably get even higher.

When the wife later told her husband about seeing the gas lights flickering, he denied she had seen anything and used it as further proof she was crazy.

Over the last ten years I have frequently mulled over if certain people are pure evil or just stupid. I think it’s a combination. I have encountered many in recent years who are not liberals/elites that fall into this category.

If there is hyper-inflation, how do they increase the debt that an individual owes on a fixed debt with a fixed interest rate? Do they just say, inflation is 1000 percent and so your mortgage debt goes up 1000 percent, regardless of your contract.
Your debt will not increase but the $ that you pay it with will be worth about 10-cents so it will take many many more $ to pay your mortgage debt. If you do not have it, you will be out of luck & in the street!
