The governor of uber-liberal Massachusetts has called-up the national guard to cope with the massive influx of several dozen illegal aliens sent to Martha’s Vineyard.
According to local reports 125 soldiers have been dispatched to deal with 50 arriving illegal aliens. The unlawful migrants will be moved to a military base until the state can figure out what to do.
MASSACHUSETTS – The governor of Massachusetts plans to activate the National Guard as part of the effort to deal with migrants who were flown to Martha’s Vineyard. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent two planes of immigrants to the Massachusetts island on Wednesday.
Gov. Charlie Baker says the state will transport the migrants to a military base on Cape Cod. He says a new shelter will be set up at Joint Base Cape Cod for approximately 50 migrants.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency will coordinate efforts among state and local officials to provide food, shelter, and essential services. Baker also plans to activate up to 125 members of the Massachusetts National Guard as part of the relief effort. (read more)

Our country is really screwed. The Constitution is clear (Article 4 Section 4) that the federal govt has a job to ensure that no state is invaded. It doesn’t say anything about it having to be a “military” invasion….only invasion. Our Founders knew that an invasion is detrimental to our country. Texas already has the Texas State Guard. It is one of the 3 branches of the Texas Military Department along with the Texas Army and Air National Guard. Never forget the The Texas Rangers and I’m not talking about the woke ball club.

I live about five minutes from JBCC.
It is an active base but largely empty; it is primarily used for training and as an USCG air station. There are almost no services or amenities and I do not believe there is any remaining housing.
The illegals will be shunted into a tent city until media attention dies down. They will then be released into the local communities and provided with access to “affordable housing,” of which there is a supposed crisis. For any that want to actually find work, there is likely to be none available until the spring when the restaurants and landscaping businesses which have survived the next wave of inflation begin opening for the summer season. They will be competing with the existing illegal population for these jobs as well as with the imported foreign serfs which arrive every summer.
That is the position the good progressives of Martha’s Vineyard have placed these Dreamer’s in.
On the bright side I seriously thought JBCC was going to be the destination of last year’s Afghan “refugees” but the Commonwealth chose to dump them on Worcester’s doorstep, several hours away. While we shouldn’t have to choose between Venezuelan migrants and Afghan refugees my preference will always be for Caracas over Kabul.
