Bay Area CA here. LOL, the day Newsom announced that gas powered cars have been banned in CA commencing in 2035 was the same day an “emergency alert” was issued for everyone to conserve electricity due to high temps here ( 101-106 degrees),especially during “peak hours”: 4-9pm) or the CA energy grid was in peril. CA citizens were asked to not charge your EV, keep your thermostat at 78, turn off all non-essential lights, and not use major appliances. Sure enough, right about dusk we lost power in our city for 4 hours Sunday night. It was an “unplanned” outage according to PG&E. Happy Labor Day holiday weekend from Gavin Newsom and the Democrat Supermajority! LOL, we now know “Peak energy hours” is code for “after the sun goes down”. Apparently Liberals have just figured out that when the sun goes down, solar energy won’t power the grid when it is hot out. On Sunday, there was also no wind. I’m not sure if they have figured out yet whether the lack of wind also contributed to the wind mills not generating enough energy to prevent a blackout.
The positive thing about the weekend and the ongoing “energy emergency” due to the heat wave here, is there has been very little traffic. Because everyone who was told to not charge their EV cars stayed at home and were off the roads? Is that the point of forcing everyone to buy an EV?
Unfortunately if Newsom ever becomes POTUS, this is coming to your state also. Don’t expect it to remain “voluntary” to limit electricity use. They are plugging “Free” SMART Thermostats with energy discounts like crazy here and we all saw how that worked out for the poor saps in CO who bought into this scheme.
The Democrats banned natural gas appliances being built into new homes in our city. When we have a power outage, which is fairly regular, in our older house we are still able to cook and have hot water due to the natural gas fixtures. The hot water is especially nice in the winter since there is no heat during an outage. We can also cook food in the fridge/freezer that is in danger of spoiling when the power goes out. PG&E takes no responsibility for these expensive food losses and tells customers to “go to a food pantry” if you have an issue with this. Wood burning fireplaces/stoves are also banned from new homes in our city.
Democrats would like us all to suffer. They would like to take away every modern convenience that has been developed in the past 200 years that allows us to be able to feed ourselves and stay warm/cool despite the elements. Their “climate” ruse is all BS. These are Communists who want the US to be reduced to a poverty stricken third world country. They want our economy to come to a grinding halt. Do you notice how Japan is not buying into this Biden/EU malarky and their inflation remains at 2%?
