McDonalds has announced they are dropping their program testing plant-based meats because people didn’t like it.
As noted by the Washington Times, “other trials at Panda Express and Yum! Brands (KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut) have also ended without a subsequent product launch. Beyond Meat products at Dunkin’, Hardee’s, and A&W have been discontinued after launching.”
Apparently, American consumers do not want to eat fake meat; at least not fake meat made from plants.
Next up…. Bug meat.
So, what ? They running out of soilent green ?
My kind of people… so said Bender.
just be patient and real, real nice to the staff until your plate hits the table
well, you can be nice after that too
but just sayin’
After they milk the aborted babies blood for Adrenochrome, they could sell the meat to MacDonalds.
Ya know, if the bug meat don’t fly.
dark, Ray … dark
Food for thought:
Just the odd finger and half rats I’m sure!/s
I’ll take my GreenHouse Burger, thank you very much.
Don’t forget to tease any libtard friends/relatives about this.
“Well, fine, if you want to get the munchies every time you sit on the porch and hear crickets chirp”
Improvise. Have fun.
Thanks for the coffee out my nose my friend!
I’d lose my appetite over that.
No way would I eat that sloop with insects too.
I am a meat eater. I like most standard things – beef, chicken, fish, and more. But from time to time I have meals that are vegetarian. If sensible, you can have a fairly well balanced meal if you put a bit of thought and include beans, legumes, etc.
I have never understood why you would choose fake chemical meat. And now crickets and bugs. It’s insane, and I’m guessing also quite bad for you.
The human digestive tract cannot digest chitin which is a component of the hard shells encasing insects’ wings and the shells of shrimp.
More work, to eat!
Wouldn’t that be classified as “fibre?” In other words, to “get things moving!” Seriously though, I’m not eating bugs and no one can make me!
Sure, if you leave out the parasites insects carry, and you’re not allergic to shellfish.
I wonder how that experiment is going in Wales, where they are giving the option of bug meat to children in some elementary schools. It will be easier to get children accustomed to eating bugs…they’ll think it’s pretty cool to be eating this. Indoctrination, once again.
One suspects these kids will have their bodies and immune systems weakened by such a diet … making them easier prey for a series of those safe and effective vaccines.
The children will eventually wise up once the sun goes down and they experience an overpowering urge to rub their ankles together.
I feel bad I laughed loudly at this! 🤣
I don’t think any vegetarian would go to McDonald’s or any fast food joint.
Right. Vegetarians can be identified by their walkers and wheelchairs.
Ronald the clown is obviously running things.
No thanks.
What I saw last week that about made me spew was the story about “cockroach milk”! Seriously. Of course it isn’t milk but is being tested to be the next “not really milk” beverage.
You will own nothing and be happy.
But first, you will digest nothing and be happy.
WEF must be shut down.
According to Clif High, crickets have parasites and you cannot heat them to a high enough temperature to kill the parasites so people will get parasites if they eat them. And he says the parasites will kill you over several years.
It’s a feature, not a bug.
According to a study of farmed bugs for human food, 80% of the farmed bugs had a variety of parasites.
In people, this would lead to a whole new cause of weakness, sickness and, in some cases, death.
Just say, ‘no,’ to eating insects.
Many people keep reptiles and even they get infected by the parasites in their insect food.
Not for nothing, you probably should look into detoxing yourself from the parasites that ALREADY live inside you. According to many doctors, parasites are a main source of human “disease”. It’s recommended that you regularly de-worm your dog, your cat, your horse, pig and goat, even chickens. But it’s NOT a thing to regularly de-worm HUMANS?? 🤔🤔 Another good use for ivm and fenben.
The use of edible insects at fast food restaurants kills two birds with one stone. If someone comes back with french fries with a cockroach in them, they can say, ” Oh, that’s not a cockroach! That’s one of our tasty fried crickets that must have gotten left in the fryer basket. Try it, it’s really crunchy!” So they no longer have to worry about failing a health inspection due to insect infestations, and they can give out free samples to gullible Sheeple …
Have not been in any of the fast food places in 30 years or so. The effects of this type of diet on the American populace is painfully obvious. Wake up parents, you are killing your children slowly but surely with terrible food.
It’s not really “food”.
I keep telling people this is happening and people still don’t believe it. Nevertheless I continue to send this information out. Tell them about the remote auto kill switch mandated in the Infrastructure Bill and watch their faces. People simply cannot process the evil that is behind the people who dress up, run commercials and lie for votes.
This is why extremely wealthy, Far Left nutjobs like George Soros and Bill Gates have to be dealt with when it is realized their disproportionate monetary influence is forcing the ideas of an extremist 10% on the rest of the population. Gates and Richard Branson appear to be the elites bankrolling the meat substitute business. Say what you want about Putin, but he banned Soros’s meddling from Russia long ago. Ron DeSantis has shown a little bit of that fighting spirit by going after the insane AG in Tampa who is openly refusing to enforce laws he doesn’t like.
Is it even 10%? ? 1% is more like it, and even more outrageous.
Do you think the bug meat will contaminate a “healthy” hamburger.
Jiminy Cricket, Mickey Dee! That was quick!
Bring your Lefturd friends to these places and watch them enjoy these insects. LOL.
I say make all politicians eat them three times a day.
Something many people miss- late night hosts relentlessly bashed McDonald’s in partcular as driving the obesity epidemic.
We KNEW from the start that this was not likely to be the case because 1) McDonald’s restaurants predated the obesity issue; 2) McDonald’s customers are no fatter on average than the general population; and 3) the McDonald’s “frequent fliers” may be overweight, but I’ve yet to see an obese one.
The film that many are basing their opinions on was made by a performance artist. It was in fact more of a critique of Americans who stuffed themselves silly, and the name of the film reflected that phenomenon.
Not all McDonald’s or other fast food customers overeat. One of the slimmest and trimmest mothers of three I know, frequents Burger King. She always orders the kid’s meal.
I give you all this background to illustrate my point- that the government was deliberately smearing a major corporation that was known for serving meat, because they do not want us eating meat.
I watched Food Inc years ago. It’s all the processed food, mainly from CORN (ie, high fructose corn syrup) that’s the main cause of obesity. The human body is not built to process it correctly or at all. Point at McDonald’s instead. Distraction. Although, I have recently heard some fairly gross things about fast food “meat” – along the soylent green line.
I wish they would stop with the greenhouse gasses that cows emit. What about the great herds of buffalos that used to roam all over before they were over hunted? Or all the other mammals running around in open spaces? These people need to shut up.
The solution for the future is simple. Growing meat, real meat, in the lab. It is possible now, just too expensive and imperfect (not juicy). Over time, it is apparent that the quality will go up, and price will go down.
Eventually, whole beef processing plants will be turned into beef growing plants. People become trained in how to do it, and you have an all new meat supply process that doesn’t kill animals. Think of a New York steak that is ALWAYS perfect. I believe this is the future.
Until then, normal people are not going to eat insects and things that taste gross.
Gee, Americans don’t like so-called “plant meat” and insect food. Go figure. Lefties ARE nuts.
See, the problem is bad marketing. “Beyond Meat” just doesn’t provide the motivation for anyone to give it a try. Now if they changed the name to “Trans Meat,” everyone in the cities would jump on it. So what if it tastes like fried turds–anything’s better than being transphobic.
People dont want t o be forced to go Vegan over totaly fake crisis we dont need a bunch of long nosed food freaks forcing some unhealthy plant based junk down our throats and we dont want some idiots from PETA trying to unfluance the kids with their mindless ideas
Everyone should demand their local grocery stores move the fake meat to the vegetable section and stop calling it meat.
And someone please tell me why fake meat is marketed as “tastes just like meat” to people who don’t like meat?
Some people love the taste of a great burger but don’t want to kill an animal to get it. Some people love the taste of a great burger but think ranching is too big of a waste of land to raise livestock.
Myself, personally, I was a carnivore dating a vegetarian and rather than ask her to do more work in the kitchen preparing meat, I decided to try some of her veggie fakey meats. I thought they were delicious and kept on eating them. I have always been a seafood lover so giving up beef, poultry and pork is no sacrifice. I love hot and spicy foods so my choices are anything but medicinal.
Hypocrites.
They like the taste of meat, but they don’t want to eat icky meat.
The same sort who wear fake fur to look fashionable.
I remember my boss brought in a plant burger for lunch to show us and I had one comment, “I eat cow, I am not a cow” and no one had anything to say including my boss after that. No bug eating for me and if a restaurant goes to that they will not be in business for long.
I’m NOT eating BUGS! And NO ONE can make me.
A race that will eat haggis, bubble and squeak and mushy peas will probably eat crickets, too.
I checked Cricket flour; it’s very expensive. Can buy it from Amazon.
