The good news is that gasoline prices have dropped in the past several weeks to an average of $4.13/gal. However, the bad news is that most of the drop in price is related to gasoline demand dropping to the same level as July 2020 during the pandemic lockdown phase.
Obviously, $4.13/gal is still a very high price for gasoline, and that is leading to fewer people purchasing gasoline.
(Via Fox) – […] New data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) shows that gas demand dropped from 9.25 million barrels per day to 8.54 million per day last week. That’s 1.24 million barrels per day lower than last year and “in line with demand at the end of July 2020,” when there were widespread virus-related restrictions and fewer people were hitting the road, according to AAA.
The latest demand figures bolster a recent AAA survey that revealed 64% of drivers had changed their driving habits or lifestyle since March to offset the high prices at the pump. (read more)
If you think about the position of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC or OPEC+), it makes sense for them to recognize the intentions of the western leaders to shrink the western industrial economies and respond accordingly.
OPEC knows North American and European leaders are intentionally reducing economic activity in an effort to lower the economy to match the lower level of energy production. This is the “managing the transition phase” of the Build Back Better agenda, the intentional shrinking of the economy through energy and monetary policy.
Knowing that, it makes sense that OPEC would not produce additional oil into a globally shrinking economic system. Producing more oil would be against their own economic interests.
OPEN The XL Pipeline Brandon !
And stop demonizing oil companies, stop restricting or canceling leases, and stop pushing that awful ethanol crap on us. Ditto for electric vehicles, that cause more pollution overall from the mining of the materials that go into them, the energy needed to produce them, and the difficulty of disposing of the batteries at the end of their useful life.
Child slave labor in the Congo digs up the Cobalt for the batteries.
This will be a marketing nightmare as people learn about it.
I can see the ads now ; ” You feel good driving your electric car , knowing this model has the fewest child DEATHS of any other EV maker. You can feel proud as you virtue signal to you neighbors whose car caused many more child DEATHS …… ”
Lets not forget about the downstream mining runoff poisoning the next village.
“Feel good driving your electric car”.
That is, when you are allowed to drive it.
Which I am guessing will be very little in the not too distant future.
Yep EV’s are easily controlled over the internet.
Lithium, copper, rare earth metals, manganese, magnesium, iron ore, bauxite, petroleum for the composites and plastics, etc.
And China controls much of it. Digging deeper, the Fabian Socialists outlined a plan by a cousin of Liberal icon Charles Darwin to let China take over Africa. Looking at how the “West” backed communist terrorists against Christian governments in Africa to overthrow and destroy them, and looking at China’s moves in Africa, it is shaking out that way.
On another note, Much of Central & Southern Africa was better under Christian rule for the people there than now
Its their motto — ” Destabilization and regime change …. for a better tomorrow ( for us ) “

Indeed Marnie,
The other issue I have is when our wonderful Treepers put up multiple links to those stinkin lyin censoring social media Satanists on here. And don’t get me started when links to googlie are posted – some of us have standards!
Rant over.
Democrats and the idiots that support them NEED to learn the nightmares this insane Communism inspired “transition” is bringing into their lives and realities. Between fear and hoax techniques, most of these world events have absolutely no justification. Al Gore’s worn out global-warming hoax was a combination of HAARP technologies and rigged ocean temperatures; but has been juiced up even more by the Obama cultists. The inflation tsunami is a piece of work by Klaus Schwab and his WEF, and will bring hunger, illnesses and misery to billions of people around the world. On close examination, a few people cause most of this world’s problems and some education about them is the best way to fight back. They are criminally insane billionaires out to destroy mankind.
And CHEM-trails atmosphere spraying , no longer a sceptic.
Geo-Engineering Watch . org
Here we go again with the chemtrail nonsense.
Good grief.
They are CONTRAILS.
STOP WITH THE LIES. You make our side look silly.
Do your homework , no excuses now.
geo_
geo- engineering is real, wake up!
You have not done your homework. Chem trails are real and have been for several decades.
Watch this:
Easy hang Klaus Schwab there I fixed it
It’s a nightmare period end. Can’t wait for it to come out bigtime.
I’m waiting to feel the impact sooner than later, justice needs to be done now!!!
These kids are working very hard to please Greta the Green Energy Idol!
How soon will rare earth materials be exhausted if EV vehicles become common?
Lower unemployment for minorities….thanks Brandon!
You would think so, but NIMBY is strong in the liberal-environmentalist demographic. Don’t see a lot of push back on the sweat shops of Asia making their shoes etc ….
That picture Sundance ran a few weeks pack of the androginous liberal sitting in the chair while the minorities worked summed it up nicely.
They are not going to market that information. These elitists are racists. It will take an Alex Jones to broadcast this info and thus it will be defined as a conspiracy.
So lets put it out there everybody. They have no regard for the chidren, the unborn only for themselves.Jesus said don t harm the children or they willsuffer the consequences of their actions
Greenland WAS green, once upon a time, hence the name.
It was back when CO2 was 5000 parts per billion, rather than the mere 400 parts per billion we have now.
“Make Greenland Green Again!”
Save a tree, drive a polluter!
And Iceland used to be ice. Not anymore. Went there last year and there was no ice and no snow. Flew over Greenland and saw nothing but snow and ice covered everywhere.
I blame ….. um , the Sun
It should be outlawed!
Bill Gates floated a plan to block out the sun with various methods.
This is open source.
It is…. um, the Sun. Always has been. The rest is details.
The soft, self-imposed lockdowns of the Green New Deal/Great Reset have begun.
You are right on the mark. I stay home way more these days because leaving the house means spending money. Not really my “choice”. I am indeed locked down and doing it to myself.
Don’t tell them, but I must say that I am learning just how much I’ve been over-consuming all these years. I can’t imagine ever going back to spending as carelessly as I did. One of the many ways this will come back to bite them!
Support your local grocery stores and small businesses that you know are good people
Indeed yes! Hair wash at Supercuts down the street. Pedicure next door to Supercuts. All those ladies need the income and the tips.
Local people made sure to buy takeout food from a small local Barbecue/convenience store run by a local husband & wife who live in the neighborhood during the Covid coup. Made sure they got through it fine by patronizing. I suggest we all do the same to the good people around as as best we can. Some of the good people running restaurants like a German Beer Garden restaurant that is mainly a travel stop are going to get hit real hard with this Watermelon criminal conspiracy. I’m going to try and visit them soon and see how their business is going. Nice people and German Beer Gardens are pretty cool, especially if they have great food like this one has
It won’t bite them because these racist elitists want the economy smaller.
If the US lasts in its current form until Jan 2025, will there be a process ready to go to rapidly open US energy production back up? Just the damage the WEF demons have done since Jan 2021, hard to believe we’ll ever be able to return to 2020 production (price) levels.
I’m betting the entrenched socialist enemy within the gates hopes to Nationalize everything by then.
Can’t let that happen.
Trying to think of something he did do/does well. Treason comes to mind in the form of Bowe Bergdahl among others. Illegal arms sales vis a vis Fast and Furious. Spying on political opponents presidential campaigns. Creating false flag operations with falsified reports based on perjured testimony and submitting all of this to a patently politicized DOJ and FBI (FIB) to take down his political opponents. And this is just a sampling.
If the US lasts in its current form until Jan 2025, will there be a process ready to go to rapidly open US energy production back up?
Short answer; no. It would take extra-Constitutional authoritarian measures to do what must be done. In the absence of that kind of leadership, the left / Ruling Class / establishment will pull out the stops to prevent any reversal of the current nightmare regime’s Build Back Better progress.
Remember the Summer of 2020? What the left will do would make those riots seem like a day at the beach if Trump or DeSantis won. Not so sure what would happen if the RINO’s snuck one of theirs in, but I’m guessing we’re so far down the road to tyranny that NO Republican will be accepted.
All of the truly smart conservatives on our side despair at the thought of a Caesar or a Pinochet-a patriotic authoritarian who viscerally despises the left / Ruling Class and is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to defeat them.
Maybe I’m not smart, but I disagree. We need a patriot who loves this country, detests its domestic enemies, and is prepared to do WHATEVER it takes to win.
Yep, Trump 2024! A lame duck with a flamethrower could clear out a lot of swamp in 4 years, leaving Desantis (or someone like him) 8 years to actually govern for the people.
I think the swamp might get cleaned out by all the illegal aliens currently being bussed there. After all, what will they do when the are no longer receiving free housing, phone and food?
We pulled or travel trailer from Metro Atlanta area to St. Augustine for the month of July. Filled up pre-trip @ $4.29 a gal. Return trip was aprox. a dollar less per gallon. Still probably spent $425 for round trip. Can’t do THAT too often! FJB! 😉
$3.66 for regular, here in Melbourne, Florida.
For real gas, or that ethanol crap? 🙂
Hey there. I’m in Melbourne. Costco is $3.45
You’re lucky, $5.59 at Costco here in Santa Maria, CA.
Ugh. My sympathies.
$3.89 at Costco in Indy
Wile Coyote: Our CA gas prices are larded up with exhorbitant taxes.
Ah, but havevyou seen any reduction in DIESEL?
In most areas I suspect NOT.
Yep, diesel is still over six bucks a gallon in my neck of the woods in Oregon.
The truck holds 40 gallons or so and I haven’t filled it since May.
Say thanks to Putin!
Sarcasm, I hope!
“Demand for Gasoline plummets to pandemic era levels.”
Of course…who can afford the gas?
They closed all of the clamming beds around here because the boats cannot afford the gas to go out to deep water to dump their septic.
“Labor Report, 528,000 Jobs Gained in July, Large Gains in Restaurants and Services.”
These are Temporary Visa Jobs.
They are filled by Foreigners working temporarily in the US.
They will go back home to their countries in a few months.
“A few days ago, we were discussing the disconnect within the economy as it relates to corporate valuations.”
“Something is profoundly disconnected, or else the corporations would be raising hell with the politicians.”
It’s probably a combination of things:
1. With regard to Corporations:
The boards are being replaced by liberal activists who won’t complain.
Many board members don’t own stocks in the company (Twitter…for example).
So, they don’t care if the company crashes.
They collect a paycheck as long as they keep their mouths shut.
Why would they complain to the politicians?
2. With regard to the stock market:
The fund managers can buy the losing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)
stocks with funds from pension funds and individual 401K or IRA investments.
The largest loss ratio compared to portfolio size for this past year has been to Main Street portfolios…
not Wall Street Big League portfolios.
As long as they can keep transferring the losses to Main Street portfolios, why would Wall Street care?
This action is a break of their fiduciary trust to their clients and is illegal.
They certainly aren’t going to complain to the politicians.
DC is like the mafia. Businesses have to pay up and shut up or politicians target them. As I recall, Hillary was all over Walmart for a while, accusing them of the usual greedy corporation, exploiting their workers crap until they put her on their board. Suddenly, she stopped attacking them. This is SOP in DC. Lobbyists are there mainly to pay protection money, and that is why so many big businesses contribute to pols of both parties. It’s a racket.
She still has a lot of clout at WMT, she often places people from the DOJ, FBI senior positions into cushy jobs in corporate for Walmart. It’s almost like she is paying them off in that manner.
In California I am still paying over $6.50 a gallon for diesel. Since most goods are transported by diesel, the modest decline in gasoline prices offer little relief from inflation.
I just paid $5.14 for diesel in Central FL today – still cost me $228 to fill up the truck 😱
MrsJones: We Californians are hosed with extremely high fuel taxes. Thus, our fuel prices will always exceed most other locations across the U.S.
So true. I’m a California native, born on an oil lease. Most of my family and friends worked in energy production, including my father, husband and Father-In-Law.
Yep, same here, first real job was working in the Kettleman, Avenal, Coalinga and King City fields. My own shop grew out of oilfield service work. Tough, gritty life back in the 70’s.
Addressing something in the other member’s post about taxes, I wonder out loud if Newscum has given CA a tax holiday on fuel, eliminating the state taxes.
I mention it because, right now, diesel in Oregon is within ten to twenty cents a gallon of that in California at the fuel stations I historically have used. In the past, Oregon diesel, remember this is at far lower gross prices, was a dollar to 1.20 less per gallon than in CA.
Hmm…
We paid $4.85 yesterday in N. Idaho.
$4.93 in NorCal today
After Old Joe and his gang deliberately ran the economy into the ditch causing demand for gas to plummet, I guess he can stumble in front of the cameras and take credit for the lower gas prices.
The problem I have is the skyrocketing price of electricity.
it is not so much OUR declining economy but PRC’s economy is on the verge of collapse
A lot of companies who called back employees to corporate offices after the Pandemic are now letting employees go back to working at home because of the fuel costs. The people who get hit the hardest are low income wage earners like those who work in warehousing or production facilities who have to be at work and are paying throuhg the nose for gas.
When people realize their dollars spent on high gasoline are after the Biden Regime taxed the income…. the shit should really hit the fan, but most don’t think about that. You know the good old after tax dollars…. where $1000 at the pump is really $1200-$1300… with Biden getting the extra $200-$300 before you see it…. so you can then work more hours to recoup it. (The process repeats again and again.)
People are gonna starve and lose their assets, but as long as Joe Stalin and Company get their money it doesn’t seem to matter.
Boil the frog …… turns up heat , consumers scream , price goes down a little , the people are pissed still , but have put down the pitchforks ………
Rinse + Repeat , we are being played
General Strike
Some of us have already been doing that, the general strike thing. Civil disobedience, economic warfare, poking the tyrants to get their foot soldiers to engage to take the war hot. Jobs going unfilled, work slowdowns, logistical disruptions, ignoring authority, accidents, unsold products on shelves, some of that is us.
I was ‘pissed’ 40 years ago. Today it’s just a steely-eyed missile man cold stare. This tyranny has been going on a long, long time.
It went from slow boil to we have to “go now” and are they ever. We must defeat them.
I will never consider gas prices to be dropping until they go under $3 a gallon.
As I keep telling people don’t worry we are in hurricane season. The first time refineries are shut down this season prices will soar like eagles.
Do we thank Putin for the lower gas prices?
I haven’t even bought 2 full tanks of gas since Joe Stalin was installed. Sold the vehicles, etc.
Under Obama I was forced to spend almost $14,000 per year on his inflated gasoline because I worked 7 days a week year round. This time I decided to pass on all that BS.
The lowest gas price in the Reno, NV area is 5.25 a gallon; was just reading that FJB has sold so much of our supply from the strategic petroleum reserve that we are back to 1985 levels.
If gas was averaging just under $3.00 a gallon when President Trump left office, and it went up to $6.20 a gallon this spring and now back down to $5.25 a gallon – it’s still $2.25 a gallon more than when FJB came into office.
Not really an improvement is it?
https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/us-strategic-petroleum-reserve-lowest-level-1985
No need to wonder why Pelosi visited Taiwan. It only took two days for the reason to be revealed. I suspected she visited to set up her graft payments. Now we know for certain.
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/sen-menendez-pushes-bill-designate-taiwan-major-non-nato-ally
My guess is her billionaire donors are short the Chip stocks she was long, she tried to stir up a conflict which would crash the companies.
$4.5 billion over 4 years. Nancy will get her cut along with Graham and Menendez. That is why she was there. She had to direct which NGO gets the money to guarantee that her “foundation/institute” gets the proper “donation”.
Waylan McAnnally: Yup.
Wrong.
TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING SPON ADS ( TSM )
Back the truck up on this one.
Cause it worked out so well in Ukraine?
Saw THAT one coming, lol.
And, they don’t actually HAVE to “designate Taiwan anything” again just like Ukraine.
Just hint at it, dance around around it.
Japan used Tiawan, ascan armed fortress, from which it attacked CHINA, during WW2.
Taiwan is the China, what Ukraine is to Russia; a gateway to invasion.
You don’t mess with a countries vulnerability with impunity.
They’d better find a way to lower electricity prices as well
Gas in CA still $6.99…but everyone is moving, so that is cool.
(It got really crowded here.)
“Oh, NOBODY goes to that restaurant any more,…its too crowded! lol.
9.25 million dropping to 8.54 million is a 1.24 million decrease? Is this common core math? In good ol’ American math its a 0.71 million decrease
‘shows that gas demand dropped from 9.25 million barrels per day to 8.54 million per day last week. That’s 1.24 million barrels per day lower than last year and “in line with demand at the end of July 2020,”
The key to the math is this sentence, “That’s 1.24 million barrels per day lower than last year and “
OPEC+ must realise ultimately THEY are all in the crosshairs of WEF.
WEF already tried to destabilise the ME, thru wars, color revolutions and supporting Iran, the major destabilising influence in the ME (REMEMBER the ‘pallets of cash’?)
And the attack against Russia, via Ukraine.
These people (Russia, Saudis etc) are not STUPID, and WEF are not subtle.
Is there really any difference between OPEC+ and BRICS+?
This is an existencial war, and given the backgrounds of people like Putin and Saudi Prince, they live their lives by their wits, with fighting for their existence every day just
“the way it is”.
I really think WEF are fighting an opponent above their weight class, and they don’t have the skill or stones for it, and are guaranteed to lose.
I’m seeing more cars stranded on the side of the road…and I would hazard a guess that a good number of them are simply out of gas.
I’ve noticed on my daily commute on I-95.
Seems I see at least a few every day.
I will have to keep note of any changes in frequency going forward.
Probably not attending to maintenance schedules or problems.
WHY are no Republicans / GOP doing all they can to PREVENT draining the SPR – Strategic Petroleum Reserve ?
Crickets …. not the eating kind.
Not an emotional issue that media can exploit.
no gas = no campaign donations
Mean while were draining the strategic oil reserve & heard today energy dept signed a contract for $90. a barrel to refill.Trump filled it for $60.00 a barrell.
Looks like it is being treasonously depleted. Take some guesses why
Oh well….maybe they can replenish the Strategic Reserves w/ all that un-sold stuff, since Biden shipped it off to other countries.
They will wait until they have to pay at least double the original cost to pad the Big Guy’s 10%
Whoopeee! Gasoline prices rise by $2+/gal and recently drop by 40 cents or so per gallon!
Lets ride!
https://www.theepochtimes.com/biden-epa-announces-flyovers-of-key-us-oil-and-gas-producing-region_4646109.html
Bad word…bad word…bad word! That’s what I think!
I’m tired of the price of everything being manipulated by politicians to fit their agendas.
I have some difficulty seeing why a drop in demand for gasoline by itself is bad news. The second paragraph of this article is (probably unintentionally) misleading. If there’s a drop in demand it is NOT because there are “fewer people purchasing gasoline”. The same number of people are purchasing as before. The difference is that they are choosing to purchase LESS of it, because they need less fuel to meet the most common goals of commuting to work/school, shopping and travel.
Working/education from home has expanded enormously. Online shopping with delivery has expanded exponentially. I have hope these will become permanent changes to our culture. Long-distance travel regulations and costs are currently unpleasant enough that fewer people are doing it. That can be improved.
The first two reasons I offered for lowered demand represent systemic innovations meeting market desires in response to rising prices, which I don’t see as a bad thing. Regulations and costs of long-distance travel are a drag, but that always varies with who is in power at the moment, and what conditions currently are at your destination. It’s a sometimes bad, sometimes better thing.
I don’t see quite why the emphasis on OPEC and their motives is in the article either. That producer/sellers act in their own self-interest is a given, but we only get a small percentage of our oil from OPEC. We import millions more barrels from Canada alone, compared to the total from all OPEC members. OPEC and the Persian Gulf states do not have the same level of influence as in the ‘70s. The US loves to sell them weapons, so we probably have to buy SOME oil from them, but our government is going to be more generally concerned with keeping Canada and Mexico (our current big oil suppliers) happy.
https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/oil-and-petroleum-products/imports-and-exports.php#:~:text=In%202021%2C%20OPEC's%20share%20of,of%20U.S.%20crude%20oil%20imports.
Mysterious forces working to lower gas prices 3 months before the mid-terms, just another political coincidence; $3.30/gal today almost seemed cheap, another FJB miracle.
So the federal gas tax collections go down…..next up, the mileage tax….
Bastards!
On Trump’s last day in office, I paid $1.689/gal. of gas. And we were not beholden to increasingly hostile nations thanks to Biden et al. It pretty much encapsulates the last 18 months.
Today, there are stories about the EIA cooking the numbers…
https://ca.news.yahoo.com/gasoline-demand-dip-spooked-market-205412111.html
Back in the end of June, there were stories of the EIA shutting down their servers while they cooked the numbers…
https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2022/06/28/voltage-irregularity-brings-down-energy-agencys-servers-leaving-it-unable-to-update-gas-price-data/
I’m thinking Dick Cheney is pulling out all the stops to get democrats elected…
While talking about numbers, here is an interesting article explaining how the 2% inflation target was created.
https://mises.org/power-market/origins-2-percent-inflation-target
Remember, trust the science…
I have two motorcycles, a BMW 1200GS and a KTM 500 EXC-F. I have been riding my BMW (50 mpg avg) whenever practical. The KTM is good for 60-70 mpg. It has saved me a ton of money even though I run premium in each. My F250 with 6.2L gas engine gets 14 mpg going down hill with a tail wind. I live nowhere close to any town or city, so these modes permit me to do tasks that don’t require a large vehicle.
I don’t know how people who are in the lower economic strata are coping. These evil bastards don’t care who they hurt or kill with their greed for money and power.
Is it true that gas also went down due to the increased percent of ethanol in it?
I live on a farm, and it costs me $45 round trip to shop at my preferred farm store. I have since begun shopping at store nearer where I live… $10 round trip. Used to cost me $4 round trip to that same store. I’m livid. I don’t drive near as much. Fuel to mow my property makes my bp skyrocket while I’m at the pump, and I’m cursing while mowing. Biden, “I did that!” stickers are everywhere. The idea that people would vote for him a second time (or any dem) boggles the mind.
Biden voters are pretty much as senile as he is.
We thought that with obama, too.
$1 less per gallon in VA than NJ?
That needs some kind of explanation no NJ?
Jobs are up because retired people now have to get a job to pay for gas and heating. My 288 electric bill is now 698!
Prices get too high people will only buy what they need. No extra bucks for the luxury spending on gas just to go for a drive or a vacation.
I can hear the choirs across America singing their praises for Brandon fighting the evil forces of the dark side and lowering the cost of gasoline. Oh what a saviour he is, thank you for lowering the cost of gas, thank you thank you. Good grief who falls for this stuff? A full tank of gas under President Trump was at least $25 to $30 less than it is today. Wake up America!
I bought a tank of gas here in N.CA for $4.99/gal. yesterday … sub $5.00/gal. (barely) for the first time since PDJT was in office. And I actually felt as though I was getting a GREAT DEAL!! But that’s what the eco fraud Global Warmists WANT me feel … Right?
While China Joe is out bragging about a 30 cent drop in the price of gas, it’s still up over $1.40 here from last year.
The solution to high prices,
is high prices.
Gasoline prices dropping because the demand is shrinking with the extorsionist policies and sky high prices. People are driving less. The liberal new world order slap themselves on the back like they made prices drop.
Diesel has not dropped because the majority of it is used in business, agricultural and construction. Demand is still there.
Gas dropped a 1.40 , diesel .30
