Much has been made of comments by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell in his brief explanation of what the Fed got wrong. Last week Powell made comments during a European Central Bank forum on bank policy, implying the absence of unvaccinated workers returning to the labor force is part of the US inflation problem.
Powell’s comments seem to align with the government vaccine mandate position which ignored the rights of the worker. Considering the responsibility of the Fed to anticipate price and labor issues, Powell’s sense of credulity toward those workers who dropped out of the labor force rather than inject an untested vaccine into their body is quite remarkable. Inartful and arrogant are soft terms for his commentary.
However, there’s a bigger “tell” in the segment of what the Fed got wrong, when you listen to Powell talk about the supply side issues and how the Fed Reserve had no model to predict the mandated lockdowns, economic activity stoppages and consequences. Notice how Powell completely dismisses the structural energy policy, the Build Back Better agenda, that lies at the heart of the current supply side inflation issue. Video Prompted to 01:03:34, WATCH:
.
Throughout the discussion the primary focus to control inflation is reliant on a demand side cause. The goal to reduce demand is seen as a way to mitigate and reduce inflation. Thus, this worldview, as mistaken as it was/is, explains the justification for why the Fed waited to increase interest rates. They never saw the radical energy policy as a structural driver of supply side inflation.
According to Powell, they thought the supply side issues would moderate quickly, without giving any consideration at all to how a radically new energy policy would embed. He just ignores the issue completely; again, pretending not to know. But perhaps it’s actually worse. Perhaps he really doesn’t see a radical new energy policy as a driving force behind current inflation. If that’s true, and he genuinely does not see it, then Fed policy in the future is going to make the recession much worse.
If you ignore massive energy price impacts, the FED will keep interest rates high despite demand dropping, and then eventually get to a place where demand has dropped so low the recession is deep, while turning toward each other and asking why are prices still so high?
Keep that disconnect in mind.
Powell is an idiot…or Powell is evil. But wait! Why the dialectic?
Powell is an evil idiot, acting in lockstep with a massive cadre of evil idiots.
They’re all in on it; they’re all complicit. (D), (DS) and (R with only a few exceptions), they’re ALL in on it. Evil idiots. Why do they think they’ll escape the same fate they design for the rest of us?
Beside that, the Fed was Woodrow Wilson’s baby, the same progressive Woodrow Wilson who forced the US into WW1 and was instrumental in the formation of the League of Nations.
Central bankers are notoriously myopic. They’re completely out of touch. Worse, macroeconomists are more ideologues than scientists. I know from experience.
Wilson’s leftist agenda was soundly defeated by Harding’s conservative policies (60%) in 1920 realizing the biggest economic gains and prosperity in the US ushering in the roaring 20’s until Hoover abandoned that and went left causing the Depression.
Given a Conservative R candidate in ’24…think we are at the same spot in history…
Except now the election vote tabulation is rigged. Do you really think these people are going to let themselves be voted out?
The League of Nations and then kick the cab down the road United Nations we’re and are just failures!! Idocracy at its best!!
“Out of touch”? I’m not sure of the context. Their policies and results are not by random chance. It’s intentional to accomplish a certain end. Total enslavement.
I’m a macro-economist and I’m no ideologue.
“ I’m a macro-economist…”
Oh, no! There goes the neighborhood. 😫
“Powell is an idiot”
Indeed
Meanwhile male breastfeeder Butty-Gig is a “Star”

That’s what makes you a star these days, apparently – shoveling taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars out into the waste-o-sphere

Now it’s the reimbursement of airline tickets. It’s the latest rage. Why he even benefitted from it. Shucks.
Because their boss Satan, knows he’s toast soon.
They’re warped but not idiots. Evil…yes! To the core. And they always have been. For centuries
Bingo.
They’re getting the outcome they want. This doesn’t make them idiots.
Feature not bug.
Actually, I see more contrition in Powell’s manner than most others do. It’s somewhat painful to watch him eat crow in this vid, because he really doesn’t understand that the thing around which everything turns, i.e., money, is something that does not have a fixed value (how elementary can you get?). All would be golden if it did, but the fact remains that a value for money can only be assigned by buyers and sellers and by no one else, and least of all by sanctified government proclamations, or the Fed spinning its wheels.
Secondly, buyers and sellers act in accordance with the reality at hand, namely the wasteland that is the highly destructive prevailing fiscal and monetary policies. When that cold-hearted verdict is rendered in the marketplace, money’s value will either increase or decrease purchasing power, and all of this is beyond the purview of either the Fed, the Oval Office, or the halls of Congress.
An overhaul of Fed policy is so utterly overdue it’s comical. The dual mandate was an underhanded leftist Trojan Horse, and the 2 percent inflation target cannot be justified on any economic basis, other than the protection of vested interests. The fact is that without counterproductive government policy, the value of money would likely grow each year, not diminish. But there’s the rub, lax and lazy businesses would disappear as newer ones are created. This is where the EVIL really enters, because vested interests buy off political influence to keep a 2 percent inflation rate policy instead of a more natural and organic 2 percent appreciation rate (if, at all costs, one must micromanage what doesn’t need micromanagement!). In essence, fat cats don’t want to face competition. Therein lies the true EVIL.
When Trump nominated him I wanted the other guy whose name I can’t recall.
Yes, the demented politicians and government bureaucrats have to pretend the big steaming pile of dung they dropped in the middle of the living room isn’t there.

It’s hard not to entertain the idea that all these guys like Powell do is collect big paychecks while taking phone calls from Klaus Schwab or whatever Rothschild telling them what their policy is GOING to be.
I think that idea is worth more than merely entertaining. I would give it a job and try to find it a girlfriend.
These bastards are responsible for both World Wars…and others. History talks about the terror of despots, but none as evil as the bankers. They have a front row seat in hell
Let them carry on. There is only so much…
It’s too bad govt workers can’t be held responsible for not meeting even the most basic key performance indicators (KPIs) and fired when they don’t.
This ‘Oops’ reaction is simply not acceptable when the results affect the entire nation and nations beyond.
Biden would have been gone in 90 days
Of his first term as senator.
Bush actually tried. Obama made it all go away.
Trumps Schedule F would have solved that problem
So true!
The most nonsensical thing Powell said in his weak defense of himself was along the lines of ‘we’ve learned from this experience that we really don’t understand inflation.’
It’s extremely difficult to imagine a Fed Chairman being allowed to remain in his position after making such a flabbergasting statement.
A financial man cannot comprehend 150% increase in energy cost impacts the economy.
Why is this man still sucking our air is beyond my ability to endure.
I am imaging something a bit like this:
After the end of the recording with the mics off, he is receiving a text message from his broker. The message stating that his short position is up double digits since November on his investment.
Whoever’s making decisions about appointments in DC is either the most incompetent group of people in the universe, or deliberately picking the worst of the worst for these positions. And laughing at us as they do it…
The Senate is the gate, McConnell is the gatekeeper, no matter whether a red or blue flag is flying.
HE dictated to PDJT his cabinet and sub cabinet ‘officers’, and then arranged to lose the Senate, so as to be in the minority so every one of Brandons horrible appointees would be approved.
Yes, the Ryan manuevers to “lose the House” (with Ryan in charge ‘we’ never HAD the House, can’t lose what you never had) anyway, Ryan was obvious, but the leadership has controlled which party is minority/majority in the Senate, House and WH for many years.
Paul Ryan was the worst “Speaker of the House” ever. He can stay retired.
I’ll take Deliberate Moves for $100, Alex.
🤣 Thank you! 🤣
I think Jerome Powell wants to keep his job. I think he is a smart man who is determined he will not be the fall guy for Brian Deese and the Biden crowd. He is a well paid pretender.
The whole world is ready to erupt!
“The most recent rivalry is between Fathi Bashaga, the Prime Minister appointed by the parliament earlier this year, and Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, who was appointed last year through a process backed by the United Nations. Dbeibah refuses to cede power. Bashaga, backed by the east-based Parliament, is now based in Sirte in the east of Libya, while Dbeibah is based in Tripoli.”

It has gotten beyond ridiculous, them calling destroying , building.
Even more ridiculous are their minions who think this is just great and are waiting anxiously for their utopia to be ushered in. Boy will they be surprised.
I think Publix is enriching the O2 content of the air in it’s supermarkets like a casino to give folks a giddy buzz as they are being fleeced. I cannot think of the last time I bought something for “funsies”..
I went to a movie today. By myself. No grandkids. I watched a horror film called Black Phone starring Ethan Hawke. I smuggled in my own drink and some beef jerky. I spent $6 to sit in a dark air conditioned theater and not think about anything except the movie. It was self indulgent and not in the budget but I needed a break.
Sounds awesome. How was the movie?
Really good. It was set in 1978 and very authentic to the era. I like Ethan Hawke, who played the villain. It’s a very dark movie about young boys disappearing but it was well done. It was definitely worth the $6.
I’ve taken the grandson to see Maverick Top Gun twice. We both really liked it and have since watched the original Top Gun on Prime.
I love going to movies. During the summer I will go watch movies that don’t appeal to my taste just to get out of the heat and noise.
Saw the trailer for that and it looks pretty scary.
It’s well done. Not too graphic, but dark subject matter. The movie relies on ‘what’s written between the lines’ to scare the audience.
Nor have we spent on “funsies”, CR.
But I must say at our age, we have discovered the peace in not desiring any. And that for us is a very valuable possession that costs absolutely nothing.
Come to think of it I’m always in a pretty good mood when in Publix. I don’t get frustrated like some other stores. They have said “Not on our watch” when it comes to vaccinating young children with the unquestionably safe and effective. Therefore I will continue to smile while I am parted from my money in Publix.
Ditto. Love Publix
agree. I go there basically everyday. Walk around smiling and happy.
I may not be the sharpest tack in the box, but it sure seems like 99% of the people in DC must have been force fed stupid pills at some point in their pathetic worthless lives.
It’s called college, most get infected…very few are immune.
There should be a vaccine for it……………
The disconnect is that this is all by design…not “unexpected”.
The goal of the leftists is to run the country into the ground…asking for more trillions from Congress for supposedly the minorities to see them through the pain of which all the “big guys” get their cut and then “Build Back Better”…in their vision of how the World should be.
Raising rates is required, there is no other way to pull money out of the system, and the trillions of new money printed in the last 6 years has to be pulled back out.
Restricting energy supplies is going to make doing that much more painful, of course, which is why Biden SHOULD be doing the exact opposite, but the prime rate must go up, or inflation continues.
Actually i was thinking just the other day – 10 bucks a gallon gas is going to suck a lot of money out of the economy.
Suck a lot if money out if leftists too!! WOOHOO
The leftists can ride the bus.
2020 nd 2021 saw the creation of 40% of all fed funny money in existence since its inception in 1913. I agree there is supply issue…. supply of goods AND supply of money.
With that said, that 40% was them throwing the kitchen sink trying to stop the debt deflation spiral upon us (not price deflation, at least not initially but that part will absolutely come). You cannot, ever ever ever ever, taper a ponzi. There must always be new money creation. In this system money is only created via debt. That only works as long innovation, manufacturing, and productivity grows faster then the debt. Then they move to extend and pretend. Then hyper inflation. Then debt deflation. Then….well I’m not sure any of us can truly envisage what comes after that
“…there is no other way to pull money out of the system.”
There are at least two other ways:
1.) Increase reserve requirements
2.) reduce balance sheet assets
The way to solve all this mess and the commonsense solution is to put Trump back in the Oval Office. The oval office is where Trump is legally supposed to be in the first place.
Lololol….that struck me funny. Just think many of us have been waiting for that moment when the masses either smartened up or learned that the system being completely rigged. In the end they may just want someone who can fix shit lol. Not so sure Trump can at this point. I would prefer to take my chances with him tho. Maybe he can encourage BRICS to pave us a soft landing into their system. I suspect they will want to see our enemies brought to justice. I believe we have a commonality with the BRICS countries in that we share the same enemy. I will not place too much hope in this theory. However something similar to this miracle (YES it would be) might be the only thing that saves our collective asses. I hate that word “collective.”
Don’t sell yourself short. I think you are on to something. Trump is running the greatest “sting” operation ever in the history of the World. This started when Trump came down the escalator.
Remember Trump never wanted to be President. The Presidency was just a necessary tool to “Drain the Swamp”. It is draining the Swamp which saves America and not Trump being President. Do you think any of what we now know would have been known if Trump was serving his 2nd term right now?
Here’s to you being right but best not to rely on it though. For some it may be the only option unfortunately. But something like that is about the only event that can keep things from getting extremely ugly IMHO.
Let me second your opinion that relying on that is unwise at this juncture. The enemy’s jackals surround us. We must act to defend ourselves and our own. We do not know when the good lord will return, albeit, soon. But the speed of deterioration of our country is shocking. The veneer of civilization is thin, when hunger strikes. Many Christians have been martyrs for the cause and many have fed/harbored/protected other innocents. We are called to take care of our brothers/his flock.
“He just ignores the issue completely; again, pretending not to know. But perhaps it’s actually worse. Perhaps he really doesn’t see a radical new energy policy as a driving force behind current inflation. If that’s true, and he genuinely does not see it, then Fed policy in the future is going to make the recession much worse.“
In the end it doesn’t matter how much is ignorance and how much is evil since the outcome is the same: destruction of the greatest country ever conceived.
If its unintentional due to ignorance, there is at least a theoretical possibility of enlightenment, an emily lattella moment, and coarse correction.
If its intentional (evil) there is no such chance.
Good point. Unfortunately it is difficult, if not impossible to know what is in another person’s heart.
It is hard to believe how quickly our country is going down.
It was going down anyway. Can you imagine where we would be right now had Hillary been elected?
I’m still shaking my head in disbelief. What the hell did Democrats think installing this stupid man for President?
He doesn’t have any green infrastructure to support his vaulted green revolution and even if installed, it cannot supply the energy needs to America.
People are going to die this winter if he keeps turning off fossil fuel generating power plants.
Stupid.
The whole plan is a twoofer. Reduce population and bring the rest to their knees.
Or, push just a little too far, past the tipping point, and see them RISE UP off of their knees,..and start kicking crotches.
I look forward to that.
Winner !
Steel-toed work boots are going to really hurt, just saying.
Reducing population would be awesome because it will shorten my drive to work.
Oh, wait. I’ll be unable to drive because there will be no gasoline. Never mind.
Installing the Occupant was a smart play on their part.
Given his mental capacity, he is the figure head of which “they” can push hard the leftist agenda while the big guy gets the blame. The occupant has no idea what is going on.
As such, given his age, he won’t be around much longer and many of their policies will be implemented knowing the R’s with the media against them won’t have the stomach to change the policies.
D’s play the long game while we work, attend church and raise families. They don’t….it’s all about power for them.
NOPE
☠️👿 wickedly stupid and stupidly wicked ✅️
Obama is running the show. Biden is just the stooge at the teleprompter.
Angry gay ignorant stooge leading angry pedo ignorant stooge. What could go wrong?
Obamao couldn’t run a hotdog stand. He was a figurehead, too.
Yes, today’s Libtard Democrats are stupid “Useful Idiots”, but they are feeling pain as are the rest of us. Some are starting to realize their folly.
I keep waiting for just ONE lefty minion to ask why this admin hasn’t thrown obscene amounts of money to install solar panels, build wind farms.
Alas, nothing. Like the good little subjects they are, they watch everything falling apart and call it good.
I agree with Sundance……I think these people really don’t know. That’s a nice way to call them ignorant fools! From the Top on down!
They’re certainly trying very hard to please someone.
I don’t think Sundance said that. He says they pretend not to know. They know everything we know.
Yep!!! Like my mother-in-law.
REPOST from earlier thread:
You’ve heard nothing but the echo chamber’s relentless cry that
”DEMAND DESTRUCTION” will tame Inflation.
It’s the Biden Administration’s pervasive and unrelenting
”SUPPLY DESTRUCTION” that’s lit our Inflation Forest Fire.
NOTHING short of Regime Change will extinguish the FOUR FOREST FIRES of Demo☭rat Inflation:
• Energy Supply Destruction
• Fuel Supply Destruction
• Food Supply Destruction
• Housing Supply Destruction
They’ll continue to consume Wages, Handouts and Bailouts.
They’ll continue to destroy Jobs, Profits and Businesses.
They’ll bury America with Inflation, Stagnation and Recession.
And let’s not forget another plandemic and new round of vaccine and lockdowns.
My zinc and apple habit have become my armor.
Excellent–Consider adding quercitin, and /or ECGC (green tea) to facilitate that zinc’s absorption-with thanks and remembrance to Dr. Zev. Zelenko.
The SUPPLY DESTRUCTION above involves our SURVIVAL ESSENTIALS.
Our Globalist UniParty Regime has emaciated our NATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY ESSENTIALS:
• Workforce Capability Destruction
• Workforce Supply Destruction
• Industrial Supply Destruction
• Military Supply Destruction
Actually it’s probably about right, if you cut the population in half…
Pretending not to know the truth is not a plan. In dire economic times like this they need to repeal crippling regulations on the trucking industry particularly in California. Open up more areas for oil and gas leases particularly where we have huge deposits. Make easier to expand and build new refineries. Finnish the pipelines from the oil fields to refineries and allow new pipelines to be installed. The deliberate destruction of the US economy has to stop. If you don’t know how to lead and you don’t just get the hell out of the way.
By the way I believe the price oil, gas and most commodities is determined by the futures market not by the producers.
Speculators working on low margins can easily run up prices. If you want slow down price increases just raise the margins. The higher the margins the less likely the speculators will take risks on huge quantities because they have more skin in the game.
On deaf ears I’m afraid.
Ain’t nothin’ built.
Ain’t nothin’ back.
Ain’t nothin’ better.
This clown show administration needs to be neutered of power in November or we are all screwed.
The entire current administration is an abject failure in defending, supporting, maintaining, improving, or advancing America. Everyone in it needs to be unemployed as soon as possible.
And that sums it up perfectly..
Ain’t nothin’……
👏
That would be a great bumper sticker or t- shirt!
Jeff Bezos, of all people, has thrown a Twitter dart that may help deflate the never-ending Big Lie Narrative. Responding to Biden’s tweeted “directive” to gas station owners to lower gas prices NOW, because, you know Ukraine, he waited till the long weekend to tweet: “Ouch. Inflation is far too important a problem for the White House to keep making statements like this. It’s either straight ahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics.”
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/07/boom-even-leftist-jeff-bezos-goes-joe-biden-spreading-lies-not-understanding-cause-failing-economy/
It’s both another excuse to avoid blame and an illustration of the cluelessness about “how things work” of both Biden and his handlers.
It may have deeper significance, coming as it does from the current owner of the Washington Post, with its long history of ties to the Deep State. Coming 10 days late, it was not spontaneous, but timed to impact conversations around the BBQ grill, and fireworks preparations.
He targets the WH, so may be calling for some radical staff changes. Or is he signaling that it’s time for the establishment to turn on Biden in a big way.
The former would be my guess.
If you go after gas station owners, blaming them for high prices, who’s next?
Grocery store chains, for high food prices?
Amazon and online retailers, for high non disposable item price increases,…
SEE where this goes,….
If Brandon were to tweet the same way about Grocery stores, he could incite food riots,…
“Blame the seller for high prices” is stupid AND irresponsible.
“The police acted stupidly”
~started a fire
Dutchman: Blame the kulaks.
Blazing ignorance and casual arrogance oozes from him. I have almost no understanding of such international/national economic things, but the body language, the tone, the evasion of specifics spills it all out.
They’re all leaning back in their fat cat chairs with their fat bodies just relaxing into wider and wider- – – arrogant and casual and very comfortable. They are wise and they know all., even though they repeatedly express, “Well. We got that wrong. We’re not sure why.”
Oh, that’s just great. The question “….so (since you didn’t know this was going to happen and you don’t how to fix it) how do you direct your staff in working toward a solution?”……………………..and then they all laugh merrily, knowing there’s nothing anybody can do because they are large and in charge, and they’ll come up with a possible, untested, uninformed solution when they are ready.
Please remember they ALL ascribe to “Modern Monetary Theory” that the Government makes (prints) the $, and they can print as much as they want, without limit and it will have no adverse effect on the economy.
This lame brain “theory” gives them carte blanche, which is why they all LOVE it, despite it being pure bullshirt.
Thanks, Dutchman – sometimes it seems that things are complicated (when it comes to duplicity and vile things) when, in fact, there is such a lame brain theory under which they operate–with impunity–and it’s not so complicated. Just vile.
MMT is yet another item that can be added to the what they got wrong list
How in the world did such a bunch of nitwits get to be in power around the world? I can’t imagine how they managed to amass such money and power that has elevated them (in their own estimation) to positions where they do not deserve to be.
These people are arrogant.
Washington, DC = Washington, District of Clowns. Now performing in the center ring, Jerome the Clown!
Don’t you just love it – how they ignore and pretend not to know things – even the obvious elephant in the room. Meh, narrative ! Must be pushed by everyone on the same song book.
The obvious elephant in the room, just 3 words they can not, will not say, or even think;
“Trump was right”
Economic Security IS NationalSecurity.
Energy independance,
Seal border,
Fair trade deals
Bring manufacturing back home.
Hey, Germany if you don’t wean of Russian energy, well heres a white flag fer ya.
Nata countries, yer delinquent!
Hey, FED (2 years ago) ‘yer doing it all wrong!’
Trump was right and they can’t admit what everyone sees, thats the elephant in the room.
The challenge of applying the Mamet principle;
HOW do you conclusively differentiate between PRETENDING not to know things, and REALLY not knowing things?
There is what you know.
There is what you know you don’t know.
There is what you don’t know, that you don’t know.
There is what you KNOW, but don’t see the relevance of.
There is what you KNOW, that is absolutely false.
Personally, I don’t think any of the Insane Idiots In Charge have ANY IDEA what they are doing, and haven’t for a long time.
Not much a surprise when they are promoted past their level of competence and selected based on conformity to the agenda.
It’s called the Peter Principle. A concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter.
Is that akin to petering out? (Lets hope so)
I h8 rumsfeld
You just got it all wrong – period you sniveling little deep state tratorious weasel!!
You and yelled are incompetent boobs!!
President Trump was right about you you spineless jellyfish!! No insult towards jellyfish as they serve a purpose whereas Powell Andy Ellen and joebama’s economic advisor do not!!
I particularly liked the comment when he said there was nothing wrong with their model as the model did not have the negative issues in it which brought us to this point
Well NOW i feel better. Good grief.
I don’t believe the useful idiots who actually really voted for biden were voting for this green new deal or BBB. This is all being don’t against the will of the American people. It is so disgusting to have such sleazy greedy insiders making big changes to suit themselves. I hope there is a Reckoning for all of them someday soon.
I can’t imagine that someone as economically intelligent as he is doesn’t see that supply inputs due to rising petroleum prices is firing up this inflation.
But I’m wondering – what if he is being told to continue to raise interest rates? What if this will play into the “blaming Putin”, middle and working class destruction, digital money (with digital ID), and Blackrock purchasing of homes? All while pretending to people who don’t understand that the Fed is doing everything it can to slow inflation. Sounds like that is what the aim of this regime is. And it makes me furious!
Artificially escalating energy prices accomplished both hyper inflation and reduced demand on fuel plus every other product and service. One strategic wrecking ball is smashing the economy, industrial base, middle class, small business and national security.
Once the dollar is displaced as the world standard, the capacity to leverage debt at large global scale will end.
Energy policy can be changed, but the status of the dollar will be irretrievable.
I think they are working towards a super-duper depression and then world war where all is against all.
There is to much wealth held by to few people and combined with that the division in the country is worse than the civil war. History teaches, economic wealth and political power go hand in hand as one.
So, what I do is, avoid risk and seek safety personally and financially. In other words prepare for the worse and expect the worse and keep on keeping on! Because these half baked Satan worshiping fools are in the process of destroying everything. Whether they know they are doing it or not.
I think they intended the inflation to deal with our dept. They then intended a collapse to pick winners and losers, but it has gotten out of control with the world economic cleavage.
We are in uncharted territory with leaders that no one trusts and an economic model that did not plan for contingencies
Powell knows. Not knowing would be better because that would mean there is a chance he could still figure it out and do something about it. The guy thats being blamed for everything knows too. Thats why he (Putin) agreed to the fake invasion of Ukraine. USA last achieved.
Didn’t President Trump want to get rid of Powell and that little gnome Yoda Yellen? I recall something like that..
He screwed up pretty bad when he didn’t spout the party line about Putin causing inflation so the must have made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
when you live in a country where law enforment and justice have both become political weapons and the media is 100% propaganda and lies every minute of the day, you really can’t expect any of these people to be honest about anything. Why should they?
They are always lying about everything. Assume everything is a lie until proven true.
Cost to construct and deliver demand side products will grow for two reasons. The cost of construction will require energy, and reduce qtys will raise the cost per piece or energy per piece. To say this differently, I can not construct and deliver the 50 widgets at the same price as the 5 widgets without raising the price per piece or the energy per piece, if you wish. The 5 widgets will cost more to construct. The more complex the product, the more apparent this will become. Complete shutdowns of any product line will result in start up cost. To say this differently, the 5 widgets can cost even more with startups.
Cost is inversely proportional to the quantity. Reduce the quantity, and you will end up paying more.
Supply side issues can not always be moderated quickly with higher demand cost. I could offer you ten times more to produce the same part and still see a long delivery time. Just in time delivery was always a fantasy. Yet the west coast delivers are dependent upon this approach.
Oh they have reduced demand, all right, by way of high costs and blaming everything but the real cause..
‘
Target profits’ will explain some of the higher prices within certain companies and product lines….especially for durable goods as Americans sit at their kitchen tables and try to establish priority household spending. Target profits mean the company, whoever they are, will not lose money. You the consumer, will. These companies are also seeing a chance to charge more and get away with it, if one excludes any shipping costs….
Big banker economics is so disconnected towards kitchen table economies and the bottom line, which IS the bottom line.
“We the People” have become too uppity and must be brought “into line”.
How dare we have hopes and dreams that are achievable for our children and grandchildren let alone ourselves.
How dare we aspire to a life/lives of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”?
Again, the disconnect between the insanely affluent and the average American.
We the People are entitled to economies that are stable without interventional governments taking our money for unstudied and unplanned for ideological dreams that place many in the poor house.
This guy’s gotta go!
Navarro and Steve Cortes called this scenario on Bannon’s War Room in January 2021.
Who re-approved the FED in 2013?
“If that’s true, and he genuinely does not see it, then Fed policy in the future is going to make the recession much worse.”
If he does not see it, then the damn fool is too economically illiterate to handle anything beyond lemonade stand financing.
Planned demise of the republic through policy not market conditions.
They are all to smart to not know. Its simple keep printing money you make it worth less until it becomes worthless.
I see this is a transition to nothing. Imagine the “transition” of Wile E. Coyote from walking along the cliff face to open air. A short scrabble in midair followed by an accelerated plummet. So we go from a modern industrialized first world society dependent upon machines which are dependent upon energy derived from the dreaded “fossil” fuels to…no energy at all and all machines come to a halt. The amount of solar and wind here and everywhere is a pittance that could not run an ordinary office building. No heat or AC, no lights, no elevators, no microwaves or refrigerators or vending machines in the break room. Now towels to dry your hands in the restroom. No lunch because the same stagnation at the local restaurant. No gas to drive to the office, no traffic lights. I’ll leave it to you to contemplate the rest.
This is a transition that can never happen, and so it won’t. So far our foray into imbecility is merely making life unaffordable. To transition to no modern machinery is to terminate technology. Pitchforks would come out at that point, or at least mass rejection of authorities. Little worry there, absent fuel for tanks and aircraft, their murder gangs too are reduced to symmetrical warfare at odds of millions to one. This is a future that does not seem likely to me. Not that they are not stupid enough to try.
Can we vote for Putin as President? Write in maybe? He seems to be among the very few officials who has not lost his damned mind.
The entire entourage of elites babbling parasites in Washington DC are the Domestic Enemies Of The American Citizens .
We cannot name one thing this band of feral cats have done to benefit the American Citizens or the nation !
All that is done by these cats is a finely tuned dance of scurrying about covering each other’s shit while they become wealthy by destroying the economic stability of average Americans and piling debt on the backs of people they have tossed under the bus 50 years ago !
This party train is headed for a wall at full speed .
The only thing these evil DC Assholes want to assure now is during this devastating train wreck they keep the boot on citizens necks or citizens heads on their crosshairs !
The Plandemic vaccine has proven if they cannot have total control over us they will kill us .
Remember the public servants wearing a badge and gun will force your compliance or kill you !
They have their excuses memorized : Just Doing My Job , Just Following Orders !
Like most weak minded people they want to be told what to do thinking that absolves them of their actions .
NUREMBERG TIME FOR THOSE IN GOVERNMENT AT ALL LEVELS !
He works for the families that make up the central bank mafia. For many years the banksters would portray the Sicilian goombahs as the bad guys but all along it has been the educated, refined and genteel sitting on the top of the food chain that enslave women and children for sex, push narcotics, gambling, pornography and use every human weakness to prey upon the weak. When the destroy society remember who these people are a seek them out for retribution.
joe stole a record breaking country from the elected President Donald J. Trump and the “theme” is “build back better ???”
Sometimes you get what you deserve not what you voted for. The dem forces have been hard at work for a long time, and nothing was done to stop them.
So here they are……
“The goal to reduce demand is seen as a way to mitigate and reduce inflation. Thus, this worldview, as mistaken as it was/is, explains the justification for why the Fed waited to increase interest rates.”
When interest rates increase, money holders show a greater willingness to increase their savings.
This tends to reduce demand for consumer goods.
Why would the Fed delay raising the discount rate if demand reduction was their goal?
A better explanation is that rising interest rates threaten to collapse the overheated housing market, which would bring on the next 2008 housing crash.
This explains why the discount rate has lagged behind the Consumer Price Index. The Fed is not serious about ending inflation. If they were, they would turn off their printing press.
