Russia is willing to share grain and food and fertilizer with the world, but the West’s sanctions were preventing shipments to Europe and the US. Putin told that Ukraine has many ways to ship grain. The cheapest way is through Belarus and that Russia would not do anything to prevent or slow shipments of grain through Belarus. They could ship grain through Romania (which is what Ukraine is doing). They could de-mine Odessa where Ukraine has put tens of thousands of mines which are keeping ships from safely leaving Odessa.
The Ukrainians burned a warehouse in Mariupol where there were 50,000 tons of grain which is ruined, done for spite. The Russians have de-mined Mariupol and ships are leaving from there with grain.
It’s interesting that Zelensky invited 55 members of the African Union to view a speech he was making virtually to them. Only 4 accepted. Among some reasons -Ukraine’s racist mistreatment of African students and the attempts to recruit Senegalese mercenaries for Ukraine, but I’m sure one of the biggest is that African countries know that Russia is sitting on one of the biggest grain harvests this year and has the ability to assure food to their countries. Plus it is a rejection of the West who have interfered to the detriment of other countries.
