The “Producer Price Index” (PPI) is essentially the tracking of wholesale prices at three stages: Origination (commodity), Intermediate (processing), and then Final (to wholesale). Today, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) released the May 2022 price data [Available Here] showing another 10.8% increase year-over-year in Final Demand products at the wholesale level.
The inflation within the total goods supply chain continues to accumulate at a more significant rate than the finished goods on the store shelves. This means replacement goods will continue arriving with higher prices than current. Final demand goods in May were 1.4% higher than April (16.8% annualized). And the May year-over-year prices show a 10.8% increase [See Table A]. However, there’s more trouble ahead:
More troubling than the final demand price increases (wholesale finished goods), are the price increases in the intermediate goods and unprocessed raw materials.
Intermediate processed goods increased 2.3% in May (27.6% annualized). The intermediate unprocessed goods, raw materials, jumped even higher in price at 6.3% for May (that’s a whopping 75.6% annualized increase). It would appear the raw materials coming into the goods sector are coming in with even higher built-in energy costs than most people anticipated.
Once those intermediate products reach the final demand stage (wholesale), the cumulative price increase will mean even higher consumer prices.
(VIA ABC) – WASHINGTON — U.S. producer prices surged 10.8% in May from a year earlier, underscoring the ongoing threat to the economy from inflation that shows no sign of slowing.
Tuesday’s report from the Labor Department showed that the producer price index — which measures inflation before it reaches consumers — rose at slightly slower pace last month than in April, when it jumped 10.9% from a year earlier, and is down from an 11.5% yearly gain in March.
On a monthly basis, producer prices climbed 0.8% in May from April, above the previous month, when they increased 0.4%.
Energy prices, led by gas, rose 5% just in May from April. Another big driver of the price gains last month was a sharp 2.9% increase in the cost of truck freight hauling, a sign that supply chain problems still aren’t fully resolved. Food costs were unchanged.
The figures indicate that rising prices will continue to erode Americans’ paychecks and wreak havoc on household budgets in the coming months. Inflation has created major political headaches for President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats and has forced the Federal Reserve into a series of rapid interest rate hikes intended to slow the economy and cool price increases. Retired Magistrate here: Thank you Sundance for giving us a “heads up” for the last year about what was coming so that we could prepare. We are as prepared as we can be. Thank you again.
The warnings to prepare were a real boon.
I second that…..
Among other things…
Thanks to sundance I have a cupboard full of my favorite ground coffee good until the middle of next year. Bought most of it before the price jumped. From here on I can keep an eye on sales of it. It’s a small local coffee company, so seems pretty safe from supply chain madness.
I think of CTH every morning while it’s brewing!
Would you really throw coffee away after only a year? So many expiration dates are arbitrarily set at a year.
I’m beginning to have a feeling that inflation is a world-wide phenomenon (causing larger input prices) and that the Fed is pulling levers on a runaway machine that is now very much outside of their control.
Trade protectionism in the 1920’s led to the Great Depression. I fear that the Fed attempting to softly land this spiraling economy will ultimately make things exponentially worse.
It IS a worldwide problem. For an example check the UK. It’s grinding people into the ground…not the toffs and politicos of course.
Welcome to GLOBALISM.
Just one of the many ‘downsides’ to Globalisation and a Global economy. Just not in any time supply chain woes, is another.
Recall, its only around 30 years old, this rush to Globalisation,…and the downsides that HAVE appeared, have been painted over.
Now, the paint is peeling, and the rot underneath is starting to really show.
BoJo and his wife, both aficionados of the WEF, of depopulationist Gates, and the Green Cult, account for the UK’s rabid and unseemly rush to bow at the feet of Schwab.
It was clear from the beginning of the worldwide supply chain issues, as well as the worldwide adoption of vaxx passports and lock downs that the long planned globalist agenda had been given the starting gun.
Huh? Trade protectionism had very little to do with bringing on the Depression. It was Fed tightening after credit excesses that brought on the Depression, and tighter than necessary monetary policies that kept it going for so long.
If you want a good economics education look at the mini depression of 1920-21. Credit crashed, banks went under, the Fed and gov did nothing, and it was over within 18 months. Contrast that with 1929, where the Fed and gov tried to prop up everything end kept it going for over 10 years.
Spare us the straw man argument, please. Protectionism may not have brought on the Great Depression but it *did* deepen it.
Retaliation against the Smoot-Harley Tariff Act of 1930 produced bank failures in mining states, agricultural states and industrial states alike, deepening and extending the recession brought on by the 1929 stock market crash.
The day Herbert Hoover signed the act into law, the stock market lost a billion dollars in value.
https://fee.org/articles/the-smoot-hawley-tariff-and-the-great-depression/
Jerome has not begun to chase yet:
Trade protectionism leading to the great depression is a myth. A downright falsehood spread by the WEF types. When Grant wanted to rebuild the US economy after the civil war – he raised tariffs and the US economy boomed. Read Amity Shales book “The forgotten man” it was the Fed actions, FDR removing the gold peg, and all the other crap the new dealers did that took a recession into a depression. We might get some of the same from Biden*
What have you done to prepare? I’m late to the game… 🙁
Stocking up on non-perishable food and other necessities. To be frank I haven’t done much prep, either, other than make sure I have emergency cash on hand. I don’t know if we’re really going to hit the stage of empty grocery stores and government enforced food rationing.
Its not just food. Assuming you will still be able to afford fuel costs, and drive your vehicle, making sure you have fresh tires, and even stocking up on brake pads/shoes, oil and trans filters, oil and trans fluids, etc. both because they may not be available when you need them (supply chain issues) or because you may not be able to AFFORD them wgen you need them,..certainly they will cost more later, than now.
If dire things don’t happen and you’ve stocked food, you haven’t lost anything because you can always eat the food.
Buy what you will use, and will ~need. … I’m guessing you’re a man with the FJB in your Moniker, as most women don’t go around shouting F- Joe B. … (Though, that might become a common occurrence a year from now.)
A wife can tell her husband ~what can be stored, and in the necessary quantities for your home.
People that have gone though hard times, always recommend having some food available. (Buy the food you like that can be stored.)
The best advice I’ve seen at TheConservativeTreehouse is to get involved with politics at the local level. …… America works when America is allowed to work as designed.
I’m definitely not one of those kind of women! FJB!!!!
Sorry, not sorry.😁
I’m a woman (a real bio woman) and my pronouns are FJB/LGB so don’t assume us womenfolk aren’t just as pissed off at everything happening as the men are.
I’m sure there are others that have done more, but I have loaded up on canned goods, dry goods (rice, etc), and meat. Purchased a large freezer and 1/2 steer and whole hog – way cheaper than from the store. Also loaded up on the barter items; booze, ammo and smokes. Make sure I have gas on hand for vehicles and generator.
Retired Magistrate here: Bought non perishable food on sale and still buying it when it is on sale. Ran out of room in my basement cupboards so will put it in plastic containers in the basement. Got out of the stock market. Have cash on hand. We heat with home heating oil, got our 550 tank topped off several weeks ago at $4.62 per gallon. The price is only going to go up and it may be rationed come Fall.
We have a generator and will do the electrical hook up this Summer. I purchased insulated drapes for the house to keep it cool in Summer and warm in Winter to cut down on the electric bill and fuel oil bill. We bought a lot of charcoal when it was on sale so if we lose electricity we can grill out. Several months ago got new tires for my 2012 Jeep while we could still afford the tires. Am now buying Winter sweaters, etc. at yard sales. You can pick up some really nice clothes cheap.
Don’t want to go into details, but we have the ability to protect ourselves from those who try to take what we have. If we choose to share it that is one thing; to have it taken from us forcibly is another. Thankfully, we live in the country at the top of a winding hill and can see who is coming up the hill.
We have diversified our assets and everything is paid for; it isn’t fancy, but I will take debt free over fancy any day.
We surround ourselves with those who think like we do and can help us if we need it and vice versa.
Finally, we pray that GOD will protect us and see us through the upcoming storm.
Especially will He be there when we are in the eye of it, Marcia.
I’m finding yard sales and resale shops to be great sources to bulk up supplies. I haven’t paid full price for shirts in decades.
The Mormon church, of which I am NOT a member, says that every household should have enough food to keep family members fed for one year. The Mormon absolute basic stockpile list for an adult (I think they say that is anyone over 14 years old) per year is —
Grains — 400 pounds
Legumes/beans — 60 pounds
Oils — 20 pounds
Sugar/honey — 60 pounds
Salt — 8 pounds
Powdered milk — 16 pounds
And one gallon of water per day per person. (Get a Berkey water filter. They are the best — they test far above any competitor and can keep you alive when the only water you may have to drink is what’s in a local swamp, or what’s going down the city gutter. My husband and I live in the country and have excellent well water, but have been drinking Lake Superior water, or melted snow, or captured rain filtered through our Berkey for over two years now. We want to make sure we’ll be OK with water when everything goes crazy. Because if the power goes out, so does the pump to our well and water supply.)
They say that is the minimum everyone should have to survive, and encourage people to add to that list once complete with things that will taste good.i

We will see what happens tomorrow at 2 pm with the Fed announcement.
Interviewer: If we get rid of the Fed, what do we replace it with?
Dr Thomas Sowell: If you remove a cancer, what do you replace it with?
Exactly.
about right..
appreciate your comments
Dr Sowell has a gift of using few words in such a way that he makes his point perfectly. He is a national treasure, and I do not label many that way.
While I can’t link, this is an exceptionally good article on THE UNZ REVIEW, dated June 13, 2022.

🤗 (one of many reasons…)
Thanks, Gramps, for posting it and Betsy, for bringing it to our attention.
I’ve read similar foreboding syndications and I both understand and agree with them.
My feeling is something big will happen this year and we will all know there will never be a turning back. Whether that is the economic collapse or a major military loss or some combination, it is all coming to a head. Sooner, not later.
Which is also why I wrote the other day, there are places to invest money today but if the intent is the destruction of the country then, in the end, it doesn’t really matter.
Thanks, excellent read.

Indeed!
What an incredible entertainer called out above.
Yep…incoming.
I wanted to take my medicine in 2008….
Comments on it were interesting as well I thought, Levi.
If the cancer is replaced – it is replaced with life! freedom to live one’s best life ever!
Love this! Thank you! And jail these criminals
Love it Betsy! I love Tom Sowell – a jewel 💎
A man who was so far left, I’m surprised he didn’t fall over…who was willing to examine his beliefs when faced with realities. There are very, very few who are willing to do that. Egos and arrogance get in the way. Justice Thomas is another.
And I admire them both more than I can say, based on that alone.

Buckets of sand for all!
Please explain.
Before the editing function expired, I was trying to find that obscure Ken Kesey (Cuckoo’s Nest) quote about being in prison and freeing yourself instead of shouting epithets at the warden.
I have to go mow the lawn. Please excuse me.
Sundance has always said we need to put sand in the gears of those who are our oppressors. Thus we all, every one of us, need to do exactly that where we can.
I believe that comes from a Polish underground effort, during WW2.
Germany had a tank production, in occupied Poland and using Polish workers with Nazi overseers.
The tanks were SUPPOSED to get 100,000 miles on an engine, but the engines were failing at 20,000.
The Germans quality tested and couldn’t figure out how the Polish workers were sabatoguing the tanks.
A handful of SAND in the oil pans, is all it took.
Something I did not know. Thank you for that, Dutchman.
When you remove a cancer it hopefully leads to a healthy full life.
The last thing in the Pandora’s box which has been flung wide open, all the evil flying out of it, is hope. And we must MUST never lose that.🙏
I miss that Dr. Thomas sowell, we really need more like him
A massive understatement, which I have been guilty of saying myself so many times, Patrick.
He’s still around, just retired. Walter Williams, however, passed. I miss his words.
The politicians will want to replace the fed with a committe of their own making.
“Energy prices, led by gas, rose 5% just in May from April. Another big driver of the price gains last month was a sharp 2.9% increase in the cost of truck freight hauling, a sign that supply chain problems still aren’t fully resolved. Food costs were unchanged.”
Obviously all goods and services are increasing due to the constant rise in energy prices. Maybe I’m missing something, but based on my personal observation it seems the cost of food increased month over month.
North American Oil Drilling Rig Count surged from 463 a year ago to 733 drilling rigs last week. If we are drilling almost twice the amount of oil than last year why have oil prices increased? Where is all the oil going!
Good question. My friends in the refining industry say there is no shortage of feedstock to refine.
You can buy all you want at the asking price.
We had no shortage of oil with only 436 drilling rigs operating a year ago but oil prices are soaring with 733 oil rigs drilling? That doesn’t make sense. Where is all the oil going?
Dont know. I know that a lot of LNG is being exported to Europe. Dont know about crude.
Pounding pipe into the ground and pulling something up through the pipe are two different things.
It can take years for a permit to translate to a rig and hopefully translate into oil production (no guarantee there).
Manpower and materials to meet the workload are not keeping up.
Biden regime signaled before the election they would throttle oil.
So why would the oil companies go all in to ramp up as fast as they can?
733 = oil AND gas rigs
574 = Oil rigs
Pandemic
Oil rig count March 13 – 2020 – 683
Oil rig count June 5 – 2020 – 206
Oil rig count Jan 22 – 2021 – 289
Oil rig count July 2021 – 359
Oil rig count Jan 1, 2022 – 480
Oil rig count June 1, 2022 – 574
Oil production peaked at 13 million BPD just prior to the pandemic.
By May 2020, that dropped to 9.7 million BPD due to demand falling.
Demand came back, but production is slow to come back.
Biden regime’s actions and rhetoric from the start suppressed the investment and the production development.
Current production is up to 11.6 million BPD. Still 1.4 million BPD short of pre-pandemic.
It will take years in a favorable environment to return to pre-pandemic levels. In the current, I doubt we ever will.
Rig count rise does not equate to equivalent rise in production.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2022/03/11/what-is-holding-back-us-oil-production/?sh=48e54e016b6f
The Energy Information Administration published their Short-term Energy Outlook on May 10th.
“Key take-aways from the report are the forecast of US crude production to be 11.9 million b/d in 2022, up 700,000 b/d from 2021.
And a revised forecast of a production increase to 12.8 million b/d in 2023.”
Looks like we may drill our way out of high oil prices sooner than expected!
Oil rig count is an indication of future wells. They do take time to drill and convert to a producing well. The price of oil is high right now because of the sanctions against Russia. The west is shunning Russian oil creating a synthetic shortage. Europe and China are bidding up the price of what is not Russian. The price of oil is market based. The US is swimming in oil in some places. We can’t move it to the market efficiently because of the pipeline fights. Our strategic reserve and tank farms are all running down and being depleted of supply so that it can be sent to Europe.
So, we are suffering because Biden is back filling Europe with our oil?
Drilling is the first step… if it’s a production well infrastructure will be needed to move the crude to processing. It’s not a light switch process.
Understand! But aren’t these existing oil rigs that were shut down last year or so and are now back in service?
According to the IEA these stats are oil producing wells!
Yours is the most lucid and succinct answer that is posted here.
Where did you get your numbers? I don’t believe the rig count last year was that low. It’s usually closer to 1000-1200 rigs.
It was 1,400 rigs in 2014 but dropped off big when oil hit $20. This is the oil rig count last week from Baker-Hughes excluding natural gas rigs:
US Oil Rig Count – YCharts
US Oil Rig Count is at a current level of 574.00, unchanged from 574.00 last week and up from 359.00 one year ago.
Change from 1 Year Ago: 59.89%
Value from 1 Year Ago: 359.00
We must be shipping a lot of our oil to Europe!
It is going to the refineries, which lack the capacity to expand production.
You could ask the EPA why they are reluctant to permit additional refinery capacity but you are not very likely to be satisfied by their explanation.
Europe!
I don’t doubt what you are saying about that particular company. I live in an oil region of California. Production is way down here. Massive lay-offs. Leases shutting down. It’s driven by New Green Deal policies in this state.
The lying SOBs think we are to efffing stupid to see food prices when we shop. I go to the grocery store weekly. And every dang week prices have either increased or packaging size decreased by 25%.
The SOBs know we all require food to live, so they play us for idiots by saying food prices did not increase.
I remember not so long ago that dog food was packaged in 20 lbs. bags! Now we get 14lbs.
” . . . I came to the conclusion that the purpose of [communist] propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

This applies to everything. There’s a lost young woman down at the local big supermarket, who is now at the periphery of management. You are not required. I will not let any person dictate my beliefs or vocabulary. It is not my problem if what I believe or say offends someone. Besides, if someone uses the woke dictionary, I probably don’t want to have a conversation with them.
At present, we are suffering through the “demoralization” stage.
We go back and forth to St Augustine, there is a coffee shop called “Kukaburro” on A1A, right down from Jacks. I went one day and there was a WTF taking my order. A guy with filthy hair, filthy loooong fingernails, a 4 day stubble, frilly halter top and a short skirt. I took this all in, before my first cup. Said, no coffee, thanks. Have not been back. Take your money elsewhere
Yup, went to buy some coleslaw & literally all that was in the bag were two little handfuls.
This is maybe the 4th time in my lifetime that energy has spiked to the point where it is driving up costs of so many other consumer necessities, especially food. In every previous case I distinctly remember the news media almost united in quickly blaming abnormally high price increases of food and other necessities on the rising cost of oil.
But never before in my lifetime do I recall any reporting of so many suspicious fires and sudden destruction of livestock herds as in the past 18 months. The shortages / scarcity cause by that steady destruction of food growing, storage, and processing HAS to be a significant contributor to price increases.
This article notes the most recent destructive incident at a food producer facility, and it also lists the OTHER 96 incidents that have damaged or destroyed food facilities in the country since Jan 2021. This amount of destruction is NOT “chance” or “coincidence” by any reasonable standard.

FACT: The time proven remedy for high oil prices is ALWAYS…HIGH OIL PRICES!
Meat prices are out of sight.
I know it did. The price of specialty lettuce is up almost 100% over the last year, up .35 for May alone.
very good reporting…the news sucks, but I’ll take truth everyday and twice on Sunday.
God Bless America
The vast majority of the public deserves the beating they are taking for their stupidity in going along with the COVID/Ukraine debacles as well as the illegitimate installation of the Biden regime.
It’s good that virtually all of Trump’s predictions about the disaster of the regime have now come to pass.
None of this could possibly be happening if it wasn’t for so many dumb and stupid people. This means all Democrat Libtards and half Republicans.
So does everyone who believes in the need for .gov and voting for a “change” in masters every few years. NONE of this continues without mass compliance – which is why they endlessly manufacture consent of the governed. STOP COMPLYING.
RESIDSTANCE IS NOT FUTILE. IT IS ESSENTIAL.
And you think we all comply because there is no election fraud.
I wonder about some of the people on this site.
Voting changes nothing, fraud or no fraud. The system never changes. The owners own the voting. You fall for it every time. The CONstitution itself was a coup d’etat – in 1787. Thomas Jefferson said we’d already gone so totalitarian by the 1700s that he referred to his election as the revolution of 1800.
There is no such thing as a government of, by, and for the people. Government always comes down to men with guns, badges, and cages – and arbitrary, whimsical, capricious, egomaniacal rules. Conservatives and liberals both pave the road to hell with their intentions, good or bad.

Helping people get off the plantation doesn’t start with denigrating them.
this makes little or no sense
Good, in a bad way or good way?
Take your pick, comrade. the End RESULT is the Same. but of course we should have a “choice”.
I do support a two tiered system in one respect.
You voted for xiden you pay xiden prices.
You voted for VSGDJT you pay his prices.
This crap would stop really quickly if people were held accountable for their actions!
….and that would include all the people who voted for obama, because biden would never have been installed if he hadn’t been obama’s veep.

What are you talking about? The vast majority deserve this? No way, no how. You are clearly part of the problem.
Energy drives everything, from the seeds in the ground thru the trucks that deliver products, to the electricity that illuminates the store signs. So, who is kidding who?
Or rather, who is trying to kid who? That answer is rather simple, our politicians are trying (more like lying!) to kid every American. Now you know how the slogan “Throw the bums out!” came into being.
Which means, have we secured our voting systems for this November’s elections? I seriously doubt it, which means this evil game will continue, sadly. Liars are now everywhere…
Some of us are working on securing it. But what is needed is all of “we the people” to stand up together and say, “We have a right to free and fair election and we demand that right. Get rid of the machines and the ballot boxes or get out of our way.”
and, its being pursued in Az., Georgia, and even New Mexico.
Adjust and adapt to the New Green Deal Wealth Redistribution sh$t show.
We are just along for the ride and cannot get off.
I work in the industrial sector. We sell almost anything a manufacturer would need to maintain the production machinery they use to produce their end products. As our suppliers have had price increases due to increased materials costs and supply chain issues, we pass those increases along to them.
In a normal year, our suppliers have one or two increases, but so far this year, many of them have had 4 to 5 increases already. A friend of mine who owns a machine shop says his steel and aluminum supplier quotes are only good for a few hours, or a day at the most.
Tell me, how is that good for what little USA based manufacturing companies left here? It’s not.
But Biden won fair and square in the most honest and secure election in history, evah!
Uh-huh…
One step closer to owning nothing and being happy about it. 🙄
How long until the government has to step in and offer food lines and rationing to those who can’t afford life living necessities? Most that will require the government intervention don’t realize they’re just going to be lining up for their demise, willingly. Just like with the clot shot. Govern me harder.
Scary biblical and historical times we are living through. If only most people would have paid closer attention in history class.
The government might step in eventually to offer food assistance for the needy but it will not be able to help everyone and there might be rationing as well. A church I formerly attended had an outreach program for elderly, sick, and shut-ins to deliver food to them and check on their welfare back when the economy was still normal. Churches will need to rise to the challenge of doing what government cannot to meet the needs of senior citizens who might require additional financial assistance in this worsening economy and feel overwhelmed by the swift changes, and might not have family members to whom they can turn for help.
Churches will need to help other individuals as well who cannot, even with financial assistance from the government, make up the shortfall. All people during these troubling times can find comfort and support by joining and becoming active in Christ-centered churches where they can form bonds with caring members of their community and not risk feeling isolated and alone and so that they can assist others. But mostly they can find hope in God who is an ever-present help in times of trouble.
P.S. A Christ-centered church is one that teaches that Jesus Christ is the living son of God who died for the sins of the world and who offers salvation to those who believe in Him and follow His teachings. Not all churches, regardless of what they call themselves, adhere to this principle. Question what a particular church believes before committing to attending so that you do not waste your time and energy.
Our Salvation Army in my town stresses….all funds received when they have a yard sale or fundraiser stays in our town.
The Last yard sale they had of donated items raised over 4K.
Majority of that was earmarked to help seniors with paying utility bills.
Same with our St. Vincent DePaul. They stress all sales from their thrift stores stay in our town.
Both organizations assist the homeless.. food boxes and clothing, etc.
We also have a woman’s safe house.
Pretty proud of my community!
I pray they will be able to maintain their efforts once really bad times hit. More people will be needing their help…and less people will be able to maintain the amount of donations they have been giving.
I though we already had food stamps, etc. which more than 50% of Americans continually use, while the rest of us pay for their food and ours.
If oil and natural gas prices keep rising peak inflation will only continue to get worse…Two more years of this crap at the least. Ugh
If the Federal Reserve Bank is kept in service, inflation will continue. Inflation is nothing more or less than the devaluation of Constitutionally-mandated silver and gold money by replacement with counterfeit paper and/or digitally-imagined money/value.
“How did you go bankrupt?
“Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.”
― Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises
“The real damage is done by those millions who want to ‘survive.’ The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves—or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the bogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn.”
― Sophie Scholl
“How can we expect fate to let a righteous cause prevail when there is hardly anyone who will give himself up undividedly to a righteous cause?” ― Sophie Scholl
“An end in terror is preferable to terror without end.”
― Sophie Scholl
What a complete and utter disaster! All these for their big green fantasy.
Isn’t there anyone on the planet who can point out to them that renewable energy consumes more fossil fuel than at present, and erodes the soil, kills fish, and birds!
Keep praying for the clot shot to finish the morons!

If they were in fact real and true “environmentalists ” they would be questioning…quite loudly..the environmental impact this will create.
When I was young…DDT was killing our birds. Especially our Eagles. We fought hard to bring them back from extinction.
And now these “greenies” look the other way when the wind mills shred our birds.
Or the amount of land being raped in the mining process for EV batteries.
Or even question the impact of disposal of batteries and broken solar panels.
These “greenies ” are ruining our environment.
They are pushing what many of us refuse to buy.
I look at them as disgusting charlatans.
I think a commercial showing the dead eagles would wake a few up! Or pictures of broken solar panels and dead batteries…..Maybe.
Anybody see this performance yet?

No one in the MSM will call him out. They are gutless.
It really chaps my butt that this idiot in chief touts the role of unions as the bedrock of the American economy. I admit that at one point unions righted some wrongs, but along the way also destroyed the American steel industry, the America automobile industry, the American railroad shipping industry and were the primary driver of American industrial manufacturing jobs in leaving the country…. The lessons that should have been learned are that your hourly wage means nothing if you don’t have a job, or if your bloated wages drive inflation even higher. Ever seen the Rust Belt?
In spite of Biden’s claims to the contrary his energy policies, instituted on DAY ONE started this out of control death spiral and his COVID mandates and relief efforts only served to tighten the spiral. You cannot borrow your way out of debt nor spend your way to prosperity. Our government is beyond repair.
Shelves close to being bare at Grocery Outlet in Ontario Oregon
Yikes.
Used to love shopping there when I lived in PNW.
Wasn’t most of the stuff things that had “fallen off the truck”? So they were priced low even tho they were in fine condition?
Maybe they’re just shipping ’em to “real” grocery stores now.
OK, so the “obvious” is energy price increases due to Enforced Feral Gov Reductions. But we were on thin cracking ice before JoBama, though the democRats did drive the SUV’s onto the cracked ice. But the ice was going to go anyway, just a matter of timing.

I posted that Whitney article from Unz yesterday somewhere here. Everyone should read it, and his next one today. In fact all of his. The dollar has very little time left. It’s like that scene with Gordon Gekko talking about perception of value:
“The Fed Isn’t Fighting Inflation, It’s Fueling It” – MIKE WHITNEY • JUNE 13, 2022

This is ALL intentional. Every time I hear a pundit out there claiming this is stupidity or bad management or some other sort of “human flaw” it kind of makes me angry.
The fact that it is widely accepted that this will absolutely doom the Democrat party combined with the fact that they are not slowing down and are in some was accelerating tells me they don’t expect to have to worry about any “next election.” Cheating again is not their strategy. Their strategy appears to be that their end game will be reached on or before the 2024 election.
Here we are. Powerless to stop what is coming because the guys hired to carry guns for the government think WE are the enemy. The intentional destruction of this country is the highest treason imaginable and seems like 1/4th to 1/3rd of the country is happy to see it going on.
Do the useful idiots really believe they will be granted position and power after we’ve lost the country? History says they will be among the first of which to be disposed.
Add to this that those we once considered to be “controlled opposition” are now just “opposition.” They aren’t even trying to hide it any longer.
No, its “those we once considered “controlled opposition” are now just CONTROLLED, and aren’t even pretending to offer any opposition.
I THINK.
Could not agree more my brother, but we’re not totally powerless. I mean we’ve got that piece of paper that says U.S. Constitution on it that we can wave around at them and say “hey! you can’t do any of this” while they are actively doing everything that they are doing, unabated. So we’ve that going for us. Which is nice.
We HAVE “the consent of the governed”, and THAT not the Constitution, is the true source of our Power, as it long predates the Constitution.
Which is a CONTRACT.
The other party in the contract, has voided the contract. (Fraud vicciates EVERYTHING!
Ergo, the consent to be governed by the Insane Idiots In Charge, is withdrawn.
NO Government, no matter how tyranical and brutal, and regardless how much CONTROL they have, or “tech” abilities, can survive or function, without the consent of the governed, cause “they can’t kill us all!”
THEY need us, far more than WE need THEM.
Every so often, both the People and the Leaders need to be reminded of this eternal truth.
The time is NOW, and the reminding is occuring, apace.
B-B-B-Biden is the cabals murder weapon as President Trump was for We The People, who will win in the long run…we’ll see. As for me and mine we march in the army of light, God will lead our way.
Stay alert, be prepared and pray.
Amazing how predictable the Left is, no? Another amazing stat is how do they (the Left) keep getting re-elected without running on anything except the GOP is bad! Trump tweets mean? Give me a break! When has the Left tweeted anything positive?
But other than that? – – Karine Jean-Pierre
Every couple of weeks I have been buying canned goods off the ‘Zon (soups, chili, beef stews, etc). I find their prices are about 2/3rds to 1/2 the cost of what Safeway down the street is charging for the same canned products. I encourage everyone to do the same as prices are only going to continue to increase from here. Might not be the greatest or healthiest food for you but at least you’ll have something in the pantry when gas hits $10/gallon nationwide.
I’ve been reading about people ordering canned goods online and getting dented cans, or cans with VERY short expiration dates. The Vons (Safeway) in my area is now higher priced than everyone else, including Krogers. So, I have been going to a couple of stores that are parts of regional chains that have much better prices than Safeway. Not as cheap as ordering online, but at least I can see the can quality and exp dates before I buy.
I have some old cans of food, that are so old they don’t have expiration dates, but the food is FINE.
You know why?
Cause the cans don’t have expiration dates, THATS why!
lol, seriously undented may be good for 20 years or more, properly stored.
Our Safeway is THE most expensive of the four grocery chains in our town.
One of my staples is organic black beans. I have nearly 200 cans saved. They’ve been 99 cents for years, with an occasional 89 cent sale. A couple of weeks ago, I went to collect a dozen more to store: $1.39 now . . . a 40% increase in one swell foop – on a 15-oz can of beans. 40%. They are planning on starving us and rationing to force compliance. WATCH.
Trying buying them in dry form; MUCH less expensive, and propetly stored a decent shelf life.
I’ve been stocking up on 8 can cases of organic black beans for $7.79 at Costco, that’s .97 a can.
The reality of what we have here is an administration AND a congress which includes most of the GOP who are A OK with inflicting intentional, incredible pain and hardship on the people they say they serve.
Have you ever seen a more evil group of politicians than the ones we have in place today?
The level of hate they must have for their fellow man and this country all at the sake of personal power, money and control.
IMO almost ALL of them must go and be voted out of politics for life. Then and only then can we have real justice with real honest investigations to expose their corruption and possible crimes.
Banana Joe and his gang are setting us up for a big economic crash. This is all by design. They will not quit until they have destroyed our Constitutional Republic.
Back in 68 when I took economics 101 the instructor stated that when the US economy sneezed the world economy caught a cold. That was then this is now. Has anything changed?
Went to the supermarket this afternoon. Price for chicken drumsticks was $2.79 per pound! Sign above the poultry section told customers to limit purchase of chicken to two packages because of shortages. Expensive AND in short supply. Biden did that. /spit/
Here’s 96 Examples of Food Shortages Being CREATED in Past Year:
https://thinkamericana.com/heres-96-examples-that-the-food-shortages-are-being-created-not-predicted/
…sounds like a set up for…
…another emergency declaration..
…and hence, a created excuse to implement more controls. ( rationing, reduced mobility, etc. i.e. less freedom,
except for
the double standard elite – so that they can plan / create another manufactured crisis that they would not waste,
so as to insatiably garner more money, control…
…while simultaneously obfuscating responsibility the harms to others etc.)
Learn from it in a good way so as to help others to learn.
( apparently, nefariously, some learned from Carter, Buchanon,… )

I buy chicken leg quarters 10 pounds for $7 or less. I got two bags this week that were short dated and they were 40 cents a pound. I freeze them 2 or 3 to a bag for use later.
Leg quarters are pretty generic chicken and often has a part of the back attached. I save all the bones in the freezer to make stock.
If I want to be fancy I spend ten minutes cutting them into 3 pieces leg, thigh and back. It took me a bit to learn exactly where to cut to do it quickly and neatly, but now I enjoy showing off.
The government’s war on America and Americans resisting their power grab. Where do we go to find an effective defense against the relentless, surreptitious destruction of our society/sovereignty?
We go to ourselves. Abolish the state. Be in charge of yourself.
“Society is a joint-stock company, in which the members agree, for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and culture of the eater. The virtue in most request is conformity. Self-reliance is its aversion. It loves not realities and creators, but names and customs.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
It seems unless we care about Jan 6th, the prices will continue to go up. In other words, unless everyone turns on their Conservative neighbors inflation won’t stop. The catch is it won’t stop anyway.

Amazing illogical bs from Summers. Essentially worship the government, trust the government, believe the government else inflation will increase.
Gonna take more than one port manipulating import numbers to cover this. Call in Stacey Abrams to post false CPI data!

Might I suggest the culinary delights of pinto beans?
Seriously though, I’m on a mission to learn to cook things up that I’m not used to into a tasty meal. I don’t *need* to right now, but I need the skills so when the time comes I’m not curled up in a ball crying about beans and rice.
The thing is, it’s not just food. It’s Everything that is either impossible to find or now unaffordable. The public is at a boiling point. I keep waiting for bombs to fly in the sky because that’s always their last resort – war.
#Maranatha!
I’m growing jalapeno peppers for the purpose of adding to pinto beans from my pantry. Slice the jalapenos and sear them in olive oil, add canned pintos, simmer a while, mash the beans somewhat in the pot, season . . . delicious and filling.
First…soak your beans overnight.
It lessens cooking time and I agree with many that it helps with digestion …flatulence.
Other than that…sky is the limit! Lots of recipes online.
I guess I am lucky…I have always liked beans! And I have actually been to restaurants here close to the border where pinto beans are offered for breakfast!!
South has their grits….Southwest has beans. I like both!
nothing better than slow cooked ham hocks and beans…
“Might I suggest the culinary delights of pinto beans?”
I once ate a steady diet of pinto beans for two weeks—breakfast lunch and dinner. At age 18 you may well imagine yourself living as a Spartan.
After two weeks your guts will disagree with that assessment.
Make sure to keep some canned or frozen fruit on hand if you plan a steady diet of beans.
The illegitimate president’s economy sucks. FJB

The price increases I saw at Costco this morning are nowhere near the “inflation rates” being published these days. The increases range from 25% to over 60%,on a wide variety of items that I have purchased for years.
En route, I passed 2 large truck stops. Gas prices ranged from $5.69 to near $7. (Central Oregon)
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/06/real-inflation-vast-majority-americans-far-higher-reported-steve-cortes-breaks-massive-25-increase-necessities-like-gas-food-utilities-video/
At LEAST 25%
yes I am a frequent Costco shopper.. 4 of the main items I always buy have gone up $24, just for those 4 items, which include Kirkland dark roast canned coffee, Kirkland 6 pack canned chicken breast chunks, Amy’s frozen organic burritos, 6 pack frozen Cornish game hens ( I cut them in half and eat one half one night, the other the next, quite economical that way)
Kitchen trash bag liners up $3, dog food I buy there up $6 a bag, cases of corn and green beans up $2…nearly everything has gone up, I am well versed in their prices
“Real Inflation for the Vast Majority of Americans is Far Higher” Than What’s Being Reported: Steve Cortes Breaks Down Massive 25% Increase in “Necessities” Like Gas, Food and Utilities (VIDEO)
And you can see on that chart – it goes all the way back to the 1960s – we are at a high since 1980. 25% percent inflation…That chart right there reflects the pain, unfortunately, of the American people.”
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/06/real-inflation-vast-majority-americans-far-higher-reported-steve-cortes-breaks-massive-25-increase-necessities-like-gas-food-utilities-video/
Yes. 25% is the rock bottom reality….
I just bought a 100 ft ext cord at Walmart, to have a second dedicated cord for the generator; and, also a 1-gallon gas can, to improve the gas-on-hand situation. Each of those items was $15.
PPI: Smoking (AGAIN)
2022-06-14
https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=246120
Excerpt:
The really nasty is that the 12 month trend is unbroken and, as I noted, it all started right after Biden was inaugurated. He said he was going to do this during the campaign and he has. It takes time for the PPI to reflect down into the final shelf price and it has. But the 12 month final demand number, less food, energy and trade from 12 months prior stands at 6% which it has run at or above since August of last year.
Shut it off now and it will be next summer before that has all worked its way through and there’s nothing you can do about the time requirement.
What’s even worse is this table, which portends an inflationary detonation of your pocketbook:
They are doing their best to do as much damage as quickly as they can to this country on all fronts. There is no other way to describe the communists behind this fake white house occupier, than to call this treasonous. An active, willful, and intentional destruction of this country is nothing but.
yes the Kamikaze strategy
“Another big driver of the price gains last month was a sharp 2.9% increase in the cost of truck freight hauling, a sign that supply chain problems still aren’t fully resolved. “
How about “The increase in truck freight hauling cost indicated the increased cost of fuel is continuing to drive inflation throughout the supply chain.”
“Intermediate processed goods increased 2.3% in May (27.6% annualized). The intermediate unprocessed goods, raw materials, jumped even higher in price at 6.3% for May (that’s a whopping 75.6% annualized increase). It would appear the raw materials coming into the goods sector are coming in with even higher built-in energy costs than most people anticipated.”
These are the kind of numbers I see in the wholesale supply chain markets I work in.
Just remember though, it’s all TrumPutins fault. Creepy Joe had nothing to do with it.
So much for the year over year rate going lower after June. Wow. This is going to hurt.
But inflation peaked in March, er…. I mean April…
Ugh May?
Ah whatever, this is the greatest economy ever in the history of the world I was told!!!
Will bevinteresting to see what COLA they come up with, in Dec 2022.
LAST year, BEFORE inflation really took off, they dithered, and then came up with 5.9, so 6 percent.
Hard to see how they can go less than 10 percent, and of coarse REAL Cost of living will have gone up 25-30 percent.
I would love to know how many people regret helping push President Trump out of office. Surely all those arrogant poll workers and ballot counters who assisted Joe in the steal of the century must have some misgivings.
Don’t kid yourself; they are still arrogant and stupid, probably blaming everything still on President Trump
or Russia, Russia, Russia!
I agree with Amjean, the ones who helped the steal don’t care, they are still happy.
The ones who did vote for Branden and fell for their lies and are feeling remorse are still happy that Trump is gone, but wish Branden wasn’t so bad.
I haven’t met a single Biden voter who says I (or anyone) was right.
https://babylonbee.com/news/biden-says-the-economy-is-as-vibrant-and-healthy-as-he-is/
Its not just the price of diesel fuel, its the availability of it along with DEF, or lack thereof both, that will also cripple the trucking industry. It’s all a completely manufactured shortage….the Hegelian dialectic. These morons that push electric vehicles are clueless to the fact that coal is what really is providing the energy used by their “green” cars. When it all falls apart, then and only then will the sheeples see the lies/propaganda they’ve willing accepted.
Over 65% of the Country’s perishable crops are produced within a 100-mile radius from where I live (California). We are in a severe drought. This shortage of water is being exasperated by the mis-management by California democrats who control the State of California.
There could be a critical food shortage. However, IMO It would be the result of a political inspired food shortage.
There are those folks who believe that the U.S. government has used the spraying of chemicals to manipulate the climate. Its a large portion of the western U.S. that is in a drought. Add to it, the cash incentives used to get farmers not to plant crops, the manufactured fertilizer shortage, the fires in food processing plants…it all adds up to food shortages…not just here but globally via the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine. How will the masses react when the grocery store shelves are empty? A look back at antif/blm actions will provide the answer….IMHO.
I am one of those who think the “spraying of chemicals to manipulate the climate” is a bunch of Libtard bullshit. Now cloud-seeding is real to induce rainfall, but that is very local and has absolutely nothing to do with the overall climate.
I used to feel that way. However the last few years have really expanded my definition of “possible”
The NorCal city I’m in just a week ago declared we have so much excess water they are sending some to SoCal, yet we are being told to ration watering our yards !! BS
Libtards are mental cases. Normal thinking people need to get themselves in control of things. We have people who should be in insane asylums running and controlling our lives with nothing but cockamamie.
A nationwide system of water pipelines would ensure enough water for every crop in every state, every year.
Thank you Sundance for the important data that most people don’t hear about unless they’re tuned in to financial channels like CNBC. I like to listen to Rick Santelli, he’s been around the block a few times. Your explanations and concise data embedded in the statistics.
Nothing like being a slave to government monetary policies… At least it’s equal taxation for all.
Yeah, there is something about equal misery which makes misery acceptable for some people’s way of thinking.
Just read this. Seems to echo SD in many ways…
I wanted to share it-
https://news.gab.com/2022/06/10/the-price-of-gas-and-friend-enemy-distinction/
As long as there is artificially constrained energy production the inflation will continue until there is a collapse.
The only question question is will it be a recession, depression or total economic collapse bringing us a new authoritarian government and currency?
