Apparently, the Biden administration planned to go hat in hand to the Middle East for help with oil production. However, Saudi Arabia and the UAE refused to even take Joe Biden’s calls.

There is no “body” with sufficient authority to fix this mess.

I doubt the Biden administration will spend much effort enforcing a Russian oil embargo. Probably just give the illusion of enforcement, and take the oil. The Venezuelans had success evading restrictions by using the names of scrapped vessels.
Still, there are hobbyists who track vessel movements, so it will be interesting to see if the Whitehouse will be interested in tips regarding suspected transshipments of Russian crude.

Looking back over the last 2-3 weeks, we have observed representatives of 6 different foreign governments take actions that evidence their lack of respect for Biden and his Administration.
Prior to Russia’s Invasion, France and Germany setup a last ditch meeting with Russia to thwart a possible invasion WITHOUT inviting or consulting with the US. This would have been unthinkable up to Biden’s assumption of Office. Secondly, Poland’s response to SoS Blinken’s proposal was very publicly rejected without even a heads up to the US. Notwithstanding the fact the US publicly AND unilaterally began trying to encourage Poland into a potential “act of war” against a very angry and increasingly desperate Russia, the Polish response back to the US, the leader of the Free World, is quite remarkable. Viewed within a diplomatic context, this is clearly a non-rebuke, rebuke. Finally, UAE’s and Saudi Arabia’s refusal to take a call from the so-called “most powerful man on Earth” is nothing less than jaw-dropping. Frankly, I can’t imagine this happening to any other President, certainly not in my lifetime.
World leaders are conveying, by their actions, that they have little, if any, respect of this President and his Administration. Worse yet, they’re not wrong for doing so.
