Macgregor Makes Sense!
My spidey senses tell me that Col Douglas Macgregor will not be welcomed back on Fox News after he gave a rather different take on what is happening amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict that does not toe the common media line. [SEGMENT HERE] Jennifer Griffin was furious.
The first presentation was during a segment with Fox Host Dan Bongino (below). The second presentation of essentially the same analysis was with Trey Gowdy [SEGMENT HERE]. In both discussions Macgregor’s perspective reconciles the disparity between what the U.S. government, State Dept, and corporate media are saying -vs- what is visible.
Essentially, Macgregor is saying that Russia does not want to engage a civilian population and is making every effort to avoid civilian conflict in those population centers. In part this is because Putin knows the Western approach is a propaganda war that would be fueled by what it would look like if population carnage took place. However, if Ukraine President Zelenskyy does not acquiesce to terms, Putin could easily crush those centers with artillery and rockets. WATCH:
What Macgregor outlines would explain why these skirmishes always seem ‘off in the distance’.
The western government and media perspective is to make it seem like Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the rebellious civilian misfits are beating the Russian army because that frames a better story. However, what Macgregor outlines is Putin not wanting to fuel the United Nations, NATO and State Dept narrative engineering, thus the absence of visible fighting.

When the Macgregor interview ends, youtube shows several boxes. One of themis for a talk entitled, “Why Ukraine is the West’s Fault”.
It’s a talk from the University of Chicago by professor John Mearsheimer. This lecture was given in 2015, a year after Russia took over Crimea. It explains that Putin was reacting against the Western threat of NATO expansion to Russia’s border. ; Mearsheimer said that Putin proposed allowing Ukraine to be a neutral buffer. He said, “Leave Ukraine alone, or I will demolish it. If you try to take it, you will only get rubble.”
Professor Mearsheimer was prescient. It’s worthwhile to spend an hour, if you have the time.
He said that Ukraine is of no strategic interest to the United States.
He felt that conflict with China was a far greater problem than Russia.
He lumped neoconservatives and “liberal imperialists” together as incompetents who have the “reverse Midas touch”.
The West, particularly the U.S. State Dept, mishandled the end of the cold war, terribly.
Treated Russia and Russians horribly, boorishly and yet another in a long list of things they have done, for which we Americans should be ashamed, cause they did these things in our names.
The us state dept is a dumpster fire of a clown show.
It has been overseen by a combination of out of touch dreamy one worlder neocon lunatics and airheads for decades. Not sure where the thinking comes from that Russia and the US can be “friends” were it not for (fill in the blanks). It was something I wondered about when Trump took office. This is actually a “no, duh” moment. Of course this is why the Russians are conducting the war the way they are. They’re deliberately trying to avoid civilian casualties. They have air superiority, and they could be using it to demolish the Ukrainian Army just like we used our Airforce to annihilate the Iraqi Army (twice), and they don’t even appear to be doing that. This is because they aren’t trying to conquer to obliterate Ukraine. They want a neutralized Ukraine that will trade freely with Russia and the rest of Europe, just like the Russian government has been saying they want for 15+ years, and they’re smart enough to know that won’t happen if the Ukrainian people hate them for inflicting mass death and destruction on them.
By the way, the 1999-2000 Battle of Grozy is what the Russians are capable of when they don’t care about optics or what feelings of good will remain among their enemies after the conflict. In that battle, the Russians surrounded the city and pummeled it with artillery and rockets until it was a pile of rubble, such that in 2003, it was still the UN’s “most destroyed city”. Contrast this with what we see in Ukraine: they still have electricity, they still have running water, their internet is still up and running, they still have cell phone coverage… Russia is obviously not waging Total War.

I would agree with MacGregor’s take, if I had to guess. I am quite amazed by otherwise conservative viewers so quickly buying into the narratives being fed them by the MSM, including by Fox News. I mean, ok, Putin is no saint. How much of a Communist vs. Nationalist he is can be debated, though I side more with the latter view. But my goodness, was it not Zelenski who authorized repeated attacks on those eastern Ukranian provinces of Donetsk and Lugansk which border Russia? Is not Ukraine a playground for the shady dealings of Western nations, including the US? Again, I’m not saying Putin is a saint. But at very least, I would have thought after the past 3 years of lack of Media credibility on so many issues, people would wise up to not so quickly and unreservedly buy in to what the Media is feeding them, including by Fox News. The narrative about Ukrainian citizens being handed guns to defend their city is custom-made propaganda to get 2A conservatives behind the Ukrainians (who were led into this war by swamp rats). These propagandists know that 2A conservatives are going to be suckers for a story about regular citizens fighting a government with their guns, so much so that lots of them are going to forget about how the MSM and the DNC-Security State-Military Industrial Complex lied to them about Russiagate and Ukrainegate for 4 years.
It is a real pity that the idiot deep state so maligned Russia to get at Trump. If Putin wanted to recreate the Russian Empire why did he only annex Ossetia from Georgia rather than invade the entire tiny country? Because all he wants is the non Islamic ethnic cultural Russians. There are 30 million Muslims in Russia and by 2030 some estimate 30% of Russia will be Islamic.
With low fertility rates amongst ethnic Russians and high fertility rate amongst Muslims we could see Russia become a majority Islamic country around mid century. Now think about that. In what universe is it in any Western country’s interest to have Russia become an Islamic country. It has the most nuclear weapons on the planet, a space program, advanced military technological and manufacturing base.
Putin has desperately been trying to get ethnic Russians to have more children and repopulate Russia. In the short term he keeps capturing ethnic Russian population in areas contiguous to Russia. Ukraine could net him as many as 7 million more ethnic Russians. That probably buys him 15 years to slow down the Islamification of Russia.
For Putin this is an existential battle for Russia. Economic sanctions are irrelevant. He needs the Russians, not the resources or strategic location, although they are nice side benefits.
For almost all of Russia’s history it’s strategic culture has been to trade space for time, practice denial operations in withdraw whilst building up a huge army to bludgeon its way to victory. In Russia’s current situation it can’t do the last part. It can’t waste manpower. Hence Putin isn’t getting bogged down in urban warfare and nor can he sustain a prolonged occupation of all of Ukraine let alone go to Poland. The Army he has fielded to go into Ukrainian is probably the total available for an expeditionary operation. And he can’t sustain that for many months let alone years.
A sensible US led West would have negotiated a solution to help Russia avoid demographic destruction because it is in our strategic interest to do so. Instead, the deep state and Democrats think in terms of undermining Trump and winning the next election. They don’t have a foreign policy, they play domestic politics overseas. Unfortunately Russia is important and in serious trouble. We could help, but instead decided to try and save the washing machine called Ukraine where the deep state launders it’s ill gotten corrupt cash.
The only upside to this is that Zelensky has done well and strengthened his position whilst realising Biden, the Democrats and Deep State will screw him over hard and not help. In fact, I wonder if this war was partly helped by the Deep State to try to get rid of Zelensky because he might really be a corruption fighter as he portrayed himself to be. I mean why offer Zelensky a rescue flight out before things were super dire? My hope out of all of this are three fold:

What “made Putin think he could move into a sovereign country like Ukraine” is Biden throwing away the economic advantage we had over Russia by closing down our energy industry in his first week in office. I’m so chuffed to hear Col. MacGregor say what I have been saying on another site.
It is there for all to see, yet never have I seen so many people that are apparently deaf & blind – yet not dumb, prognosticating upon everything under the sun, all from a false base perpetrated by the media et al – very little of which is based upon fact & observation.
MacGregor is correct. There are live feeds and analysis of what is actually going on in Ukraine (if interested, check out TheDuran on Bitchute). One of the men is in curfew in a hotel in Kiev. The electricity is still on, the sewage system is still running, and even the internet (contrary to tweets yesterday) is still intact, as well as cellphone transmitters, etc. The Russians are basically surrounding the city. And waiting. They are not indulging in the military ways of the US…..bomb everything and rebuild later. There is also some interesting info about bombing areas overlapping US bio labs in Ukraine. Do NOT believe any of the info you are getting on MSM, and fully research the info on the internet. It’s all filled with propaganda. By the way, it appears that te west has (stupidly) sanctioned the largest state bank in Russia, along with other economic sanctions. Even the Fed and Wall Street told them not to do this, but they did. Be totally prepared for SERIOUS increases in your electricity, fuel, etc. The West is being led by politicians who do not understand global politics, apparently.

Methinks Gowdy getting a bit of a bad rap… he asks questions that helped clarify things for those less knowledgeable people (like myself). He also deserves credit for vacating DC and going to work in the private sector.

Day 5
Couple observations:
– Looking at info sights who are on our side, I notice a very “pro-Putin/ Russian” or “anti-Ukraine/West” bias that has crept into the analysis/commentary.
– The emotional response when pointing out this pro-Russian/anti-Ukraine bias from these supposed “analysts” is a tell. We need to all step back and start looking at the facts. They are out there and Twitter is by far the best source.
Next, just as with the Covid “pandemic”, what has turned out to be the case is that people were forced to become “epidemiologist” in order to navigate through all the Covid mandates and emergency measures, now have to become “military analysts” to navigate through the Ukrainian reporting.
It’s as sad state of affairs, but it is what it is.
Another observation. The Generals are only good for general observations. They are retired (i.e. not following the war in real time) or work for Military Industrial Complex (i.e. administrative work takes up their time.) The best source is the independent analysts who must be accurate otherwise they will stop being read. This is where the real information is contained.
Which leads me to why I am writing this: I am not a “military analyst” although I am not far from the latter. The manner in which I have approached viewing the Ukraine invasion is by searching out proper military analysts, watching their work product and then reconciling it with twitter feeds of other military analysts who are looking at the situation on the ground in real time.
Therefore, if Analyst 1 makes a prediction of an event (youtube), and that event is confirmed by other analysts on the ground (twitter feeds) at a later time, one can be certain that he is at least on the right track/ cutting through the fog of war/chaff and countermeasures/propaganda.
So from where I am sitting, the two military analysts who have been by far the best at predicting say day 3 and 4 on day 1 and 2 are both Polish. They are Jaroslaw Wolski and Jacek Bartosiak. They mostly produce their work product in Polish, but with youtube translation function, one can follow along in the conversation.
Of note, Jarosław Wolski was on a youtube video that was time stamped during day 2 of the Russian invasion. His observations have been spot on and have been confirmed by other non-Polish analysts (on twitter) in day 3 and day 4.
E.g.: JW observed that the Russian columns were traveling with 3-4 day supplies of food, ammo, fuel. He predicted that by Sunday, the Russians (1st wave) -were to run out of fuel and food because they did not control the territory over which they would run the supply lines.
And what did we start seeing on Sunday: Russians foraging for food, abandoned vehicles, ect…
