Thus, what the police will be ordered to do and not do is highly (variably so across districts) related to the political sensitivities of the mayor, council, and police management. I agree 100% with that sentiment, BUT the ONLY way these days that governments will fear their people … when governments are willing to ignore (and/or violate) laws, willing to ignore (and/or fabricate) public opinion, willing to ignore common sense, willing to ignore science, willing to ignore right and wrong, willing to manipulate elections, and willing to prevent all efforts to make them trustworthy, is for the people to stand up in mass, guns in hand, and tell the government NO and threaten to throw them out of power if they don’t stop whatever the people don’t like.

It was truly heartwarming.

I can’t imagine being arrested and then IF eventually released finding out your beloved pet had been killed by the Marxist monsters.
I’m praying that a group of animal lovers is able to rescue and hold the pets until they can be reunited with their owners.
“Pets” are of the least of your worries when it is your very life as you have known it is being destroyed.
Pets are a big part of some peoples’s lives, otherwise they wouldn’t have brought them along to the protests.
I would hardly call that the LEAST of someone’s worries. They are PART of peoples’s lives.
Of course human’s lives are being destroyed, but PEOPLE have a way of surviving, rebounding, fighting back.
Domesticated animals are OUR responsibility. They are helpless for the most part without humans taking care of them. I don’t have a pet but I would be devastated if I survived that ordeal only to find out I would never see my pet again because it had been put down or given away. THIS is an incredibly low and evil thing to do and demonstrates the depravity of Trudeaus’s gang.
In response to Pirapoi: If the goons break your truck window and haul you off to jail, what exactly do you think happens to those animals that were living in the vehicle with the protester? They either are left alone in horror as their master is hauled off, or more than likely, Animal Control takes possession of the pet so that the city can’t be blamed for animals running wild in the streets. Or they escape to deal with freezing temperatures, trampling horses, and crowds of unknown strangers. MAYBE they get scooped up by a caring person.
It’s jut ONE MORE example of these elites’s out of control behavior ON TOP of the mandates, senseless “laws”, and violence towards peaceful citizens.
If you care about your Pet instead of its all about Me, you wouldn’t selfishly put your pet in a possible dangerous situation in the first place. There is a time and place for everything and having enough commonsense to know the difference is a responsibility one owes their Pet.

I honestly don’t believe any pets were confiscated.
Just like the threatened taking of children I think it was just a scare tactic.
I thought both were rather weird as a scare tactic. The only effect I can think of is it makes enemies out of a certain relative of mine who hasn’t had much problem with anything the government is doing, but if you talk about doing anything to a pet, you have just switched your status to “totally evil” in her mind.

Here in Canada, long before the freedom rallies a group of wonderful truckers organized and ran a rescue site for dogs that were to be culled.
These dogs come primarily from Native Reservations in the Prairies.
Our older son has one such “ Mutt” that was “ piggy backed” by truckers out West to here in British Columbia from Northern Manitoba.
The guys asked for only $40.00
Of course the donation was increased. Two weeks later the trucker called our son to ask how she was doing.
She is awesome..sweet and gentle as can be.
Our son lives next door, and the “ Mutt” was just at my window softly barking for her nite nite treats.
Nobody touches that dog.

Haven’t seen or heard of any. There were quite a few idiots today w/dogs, to me it is just too cold for them to out for long periods of time, and then there is the threat of tear gas, rubber bullets, and arrest. No dog or child should be in the mix in my opine. All the truckers and street people have left, so the only w/ones w/dogs were regular citizens deliberately bringing their dogs w/them.
I know, Canadians are used to the cold, but I don’t care, it isn’t fair to the animal. Humans are bundled up and I am seeing short haired dogs like Boxers being dragged along.

We have real dogs here in Canada..( not our Bichon) but our sons wants to sleep outside.
Same as our Border Collies in Scotland. They were always outside. Rain, snow or shine.
They actually got anxious indoors..

Just skimmed it and look forward to reading it thoroughly tomorrow. Thank you for posting that. It appears to be a really thoughtful and incredibly well researched and timely piece. One thing that I often think about when people reference prior times in history as part of their argument (as Kirsch does in this piece) is that we are in a very unique situation now because of, among other things, the powerful influence of tech and tech censorship. But I suppose back in the day they had their challenges as well, so perhaps it’s a wash. Not sure. It does feel like the propaganda machine is far more oiled now than it ever was and is an enormous hurdle to overcome. Anyway, thank you again for posting the link to that piece. Look forward to reading it with more of a fine-tooth comb….

To be accurate, in that video Schwab said “…more than half the cabinet…”. He did not say “Parliament.” So the question was about “Ministers” and not Members of Parliament. Obviously they didn’t want to discuss that at that time. Someone called it (the premise of the question) misinformation but provided no support for THAT claim either.
