Comrades, the ministry of truth does not want you to misunderstand what Joe Biden is saying in these prepared remarks. Do not believe your eyes and ears, Joe Biden is not saying:
...”You know, I’ve adopted the attitude of the great negro at the time, pitcher in the negro leagues went on to become a great pitcher in the pros, into the, major league baseball after Jackie Robinson, his name was Satchel Paige”..
Joe Biden is NOT saying this, according to U.S. media immediately afterward. WATCH:
What is it that he said if he didn’t say Negro?
Oh, where would The Lunatics be if it wasn’t for semantics?
Of course he didn’t say “Negro”, he said “the great negro”, and “negro leagues”.
See how that works?
I am still trying to sort out what comparison the blabbermouth was trying to make between Veteran’s Day and two 1940’s pitchers.
Joe told the same story to the Pope a few weeks ago. It was inappropriate then and it was yesterday as well. I guess it’s the only story he can “sort of” remember.
Have you noticed how many of his stories or bloopers involve black Americans? When someone tries this hard to prove he’s not racist, he’s racist.
I think he said “let’s go Brandon”
In twenty years we’re all going to be cancelled for referring to melanated folk as Blacks or Browns when they come up with another new-speak euphemism. Satchel Paige referred to himself as a Negro. This is a non-issue.
Babe Ruth said Satchel Paige had the best stuff of any pitcher (he didn’t specify color) he ever faced. (That was well before the color barrier in “major league” baseball was broken by Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey). That is what is relevant about Satchel Paige. He was a great pitcher who also was the source of some pretty good sayings. To say he was a “great Negro” is about as silly as saying Babe Ruth was a great “white man”.
Mark it up to my upbringing in the South, but I’ll give Biden a pass on this one. It’s an historical fact that the league was titled “The Negro League” That’s what it was called, and time can’t (or shouldn’t be able to) erase the reality. To me, this whole “N-word” thing smacks of Harry Potter and “He Who Shall Not Be Named.” We Conservatives defend the fact that our founding fathers were slave owners and don’t deserve to be “Cancelled” and their statues pulled down, saying that they were simply men of their times, albeit great men and men of genius, and that slave holding was the norm AT THE TIME. By the same token, when I grew up in the 40’s and 50’s in the deep South (Southern Virginia and Northern Florida), Jim Crow was the norm in the society I knew, both for me and my parents. I had an Uncle who was a Klan member (we think). Separate drinking fountains were the norm. The colored and white lunch counters at Woolworth’s in Jacksonville was just how things were. But times and attitudes change. Maturity, and attitudes and the law, changes how people think. My attitudes as a child and an adolescent toward race bear little similarity to my attitudes today, and I suppose if I were a public figure and Social Media had existed back then I would be Cancelled for some of the things I might have posted. However I maintain that I should be able to describe the reality that existed in those times in accurate terms. I should be able to describe “Colored Only” and “White Only” drinking fountains. I should be able to describe my Uncle talking in anger about “uppity Niggers” trying to talk to white girls. He’s long dead and his attitudes with him. But why should it be taboo to even mention him and his actions and opinions as they were AT THE TIME? This whole “N-word” thing, to me, smacks of Cancel Culture.
When, exactly, did Negro become a bad word? Should someone alert the United Negro College Fund?
A year or so ago, I wanted to look something up in a 1950s era Jet Magazine. Thumbing through (online) I noticed that this relatively classy black (we’d call it now) magazine referred to Negro and Negroes. That was the publication’s style. I don’t remember ever calling Negroes “black people”, “blacks”… and we were a very mixed community.
Wow, no one chanted F*%K Joe Biden instead they said “Let’s go Brandon”.
Joe Biden never said negro.
Seems the whole world is in need of a hearing aid. as no one can now believe their own ears according to the Biden Administration and sycophant media.
According to the media, Joe never says what we hear him say.
I can no longer suffer this fool!
