This article is written as both a representative disconnect of the current administration, and also as a direct warning to readers of a never before seen increase in U.S. food prices. As grandma always said: “charity begins at home.”
Earlier today in Paris, France, Kamala Harris waxed as philosophically as she could about the inequities around the globe. Specifically, she proclaimed that world leaders have no excuse for some unknown “we” creating enough food to “feed the entire world” while children are hungry.
The words written for Harris to recite may sound good to an audience who values their own virtue through hollow soundbites and empty phrases; however, there is a very stark and concerning disconnect specifically when it comes to U.S. leadership making these proclamations. Watch first 30 seconds (prompted):
.
“Why have we allowed so many of the world’s children to go hungry when we know that we produce enough food to feed the entire world. […] We must instead agree that these growing gaps are unacceptable,” Harris proclaims with maximum virtue-signaling emphasis in the effort to raise her approval rating.
Meanwhile, the Biden-Inflation cost of food in the United States is increasingly becoming a problem for working class Americans. Forget feeding children around the world, we are weeks away from people not being able to feed their own kids, and massive shortages in the stop-gap systems like food banks.
I’m not sure people understand yet exactly how desperate things are going to become, so let me be very specific for an audience of long-term readers who have my track record of accuracy to measure my predictions. Within the next 120 to 180 days, you are about to see butter cost $8 to 10.00/lb at your local supermarket. Bread will cost $6.00 a loaf, minimum, and other key staple item food prices, in the first two quarters of 2022, will increase 20 to 30% from where they are right now.
Maybe you don’t have kids at home, maybe you don’t pack lunches or care what the cost of a pound of bologna will be, maybe you are retired and the stove hasn’t been operated all year as you prefer to dine out…. but I can assure you, to a demonstrable certainty, that almost all middle class working Americans will be making decisions on what food products they can afford. Head lettuce at $4 to $5 each, eggs at $3/doz, milk around $6/gal, butter around $8/lb, and citrus so expensive getting an orange in your Christmas stocking will be a trend again in 2022.
The background conversations in the raw material, processing, manufacturing, wholesaling and food contract networks are enough to make you lose sleep.
[…] Tyson sent a letter to at least two regional distributors last month in which it said that prices on Ball Park, Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, State Fair and all deli meats will increase by a range of 5% to 10.2% beginning Jan. 2 for “all retail customers.” … “We continue to face accelerating levels of extraordinary inflation,” Tyson said in the letter. “The sustained duration and significant impact of the inflation necessitates additional pricing action.” (link)
The traditional net terms at 30, 60 or 90 days are right now a hot topic, as producers and suppliers in the food supply chain can no longer commit to contractual prices for future goods delivered. The upstream price increases are so large the downstream suppliers will not contract on fixed prices, EVEN for the big box retailers.
Only those who know the scale of Walmart buying office pressure and dominance can appropriately contextualize a current WM supplier telling the behemoth to “go spit” if they don’t like the fact that price guarantees are no longer part of the equation. Yeah, it is THAT bad.
We are only a few months away from seeing massive inflation that will fundamentally change the way everyone looks at food shopping, or highly consumable purchases, and what the middle class formerly considered to be “luxury” purchases. Inflation, in the background, is going to come through the supply chain like a thundershock…. and it’s not just food.
This recent insider comment caused me to do some digging, and this is 100% accurate:
“I am an executive in the detergent chemical industry that supplies all of the major pharmaceutical companies, and am in charge of pricing and purchasing of large quantities of raw materials – both commodities, and surfactants, which are the main ingredients in detergents. Here is a brief overview of the situation.
Commodities, such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), sodium carbonate (soda ash), and other basic additives that adjust pH, thickness, anti-redeposition, rinseability, and other properties are up around 10-15% on a raw material cost basis from February. Not a single material is unaffected.
Citric acid is up nearly 40-50% when it can be found, at minimum. There is a nationwide allocation, which means that they give material to whom they feel like. One of the major domestic manufacturers of these materials shut down production of citric acids and other acidulants due to maintenance. Many companies in my industry are paying nearly 300% (not a typo – three hundred percent) increases on citric acid.
Domestic primary surfactants, which are made by a handful of companies such as Stepan Company, Solvay, Huntsman, and many more, are up 15-20%, due mainly to oil cost, transportation, etc.
Domestic specialty surfactants, specifically of a class called ethoxylated surfactants, are nearly gone. Not hard to get, not difficult to find – gone. In February, the ice storm took out piping and power lines along the entire gulf coast. The two towns that got hit hardest were Houston, TX, and a little town called St. Charles, LA. St. Charles is where all ethoxylation takes place in the USA for everyone from Dow to Sasol to BASF, and is the key process to make these specialty ethoxylated surfactants. Then, after 4 months of shutdowns, just when everything was getting back into swing, Hurricane Ida wrecked everything all over again.
Dow, one of the largest companies in the world, only restarted production at their facility there in early October.
The crisis of transportation and at the ports is only adding to this crisis of manufacturing in the chemical industry. News to everyone? It was never covered, not even once, on the news.
If truckers are going to be forced to be vaccinated come January, there will be even less trucks than there are now.
The wheels of the world are being purposefully and deliberately ground to a halt. We’d be better off with the mafia back in control of the ports worldwide.
This is going to get so much worse before it gets any better, and the administration in office is doing everything in their power to make sure it is as bad as possible.” (link)
And this on “Industrial Price Increases“:
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris is worried about feeding children of the world, while millions of working class Americans are worried about feeding their own kids?
Infuriating is an understatement.
Please prepare yourselves and your families accordingly.
The proactive window to prepare for what’s coming is approximately 60 days from today; and then options begin to diminish quickly.
This is all being done by design.

When
E.F. HuttonChairman Xi talks … Mitch the Bitch listens, steps and fetches. The “rich” Western nations were exposed as being broke in 2009 financial crisis and never recovered. They have been printing and stacking debt ever since. Kamala’s idea that world leaders have to step forward when they are already broke is just stupid. But here we are.
But it sounds nice and idiots believe it.
I hate to break the news to ya, but we were broke before ’09.
I am not going to make a long post. Correctly I said “exposed” as in the average joe should be able to see it.
Western countries have been making economy by playing stack the debt for a very long time. As long as you are stacking debt, you are creating money. It does not matter if the debt is home loans, education loans or government debt. Debt is a temporary dollar in your pocket. A false sense of wealth.
They have manufactured this food shortage, they have manufactured this fuel shortage, and this will of course kill jobs because no one can pay for the gas. And real wages will drop in true value as everything else goes up in price. Farmers won’t be able to afford the fuel to plant and harvest the crops.
We are about to be downtown in our own 1920s version of a stock market crash!
And, if Sundance is right about the timing, we have 120 to 180 days before it becomes serious.
When this happens, the military will be called out.
Cloward-Piven … coming to fruition.
“Make the 20’s Roar Again!” … well, at least the Tommy guns.
In Texas alone there are over three hundred thousand military trained veterans. Most likely all of them have plenty of weapons.
There are a lot more locked and loaded red necks than that.
millie might want to consider that before he starts anything.
I’m retired so I dont have to drive much, but here in California I image folks that have a bit of a commute everyday to work are spending $500+ a month on gas now..sickening.
The military is a conundrum. Most, I fervently believe, will not fire on Americans trying to feed their families. They’ll go AWOL with their weapons systems. Balkanization follows. Msybe peace?
Conscripts from South of the Borden will fire on anyone.
That said, if military kinetics ensue, the outcome will likely be total destruction of the US. There won’t be any “pieces” left to pick up. There will be no “Fed Government” left. At best, balkanization will be the rule. Starvation for most. American political class will cease to exist. Cloward and Piven be damned.
The collapse will be fast. End quickly. Starvation will end any “war.”
Not even Xi will want what’s left.
Eloi or Morloch?
This was actually the first time I have listened to Ms Harris try to give a speech. I found her British-oid accent off-putting, and reflects her patchwork nationality and citizenship status.
She really is a complete Nincompoop. Slinging one non-sequitur after another. I suspect she went shopping for a speech writer that would make her feel intelligent in comparison.
So it sounds like her campaign agenda will be a strong National Government that
Just brilliant
To be fair ,she didn’t get where she is by talking?
???
She started flapping those elbows again during her screed. That’s some “tell” right there.
Someone elsewhere said her faux French accent was such a flop, she should go back to the the Vietnamese one…”Me love you long time!”
That one suits her better.
Personally..I will never hear one word come out of this carnival barker! NEVER!
She’s like a junior high girl
It’s apparent that Biden and Harris must come out now if we are to stand any chance of avoiding this.
So the next move must come from the military to remove Biden and Harris. I wonder if it will happen?
The “military” ? was there in November 2020 thereafter protecting the DC complex.
All top “military” ? leadership appears to be quite supportive of the installed cabal.
All true, military courts and police initially with someone like President Trump in charge. However, the generals may see it differently.
Hahahaha….dont expect the Chu Hoi at the Pentagon to remove those two turds. But they will come to your home to remove you and your family to the railhead.
With Austin and Smiley? Surely you jest!
I suspect the military will not be used to remove Biden/Harris. The military will be used against we
the people.
Yep. They are currently purging all the troops who believe in liberty or aren’t complete morons or cowards. Once they have only the sheep that complied with a clot shot, they have a military they know will kill or imprison Americans when ordered.
I think it will rogue Seal Teams, or we should say patriotic Seal Teams!
And Pelosi. Shes the next in line.
Local Harvest
lists farmers markets and CSAs
http://www.localharvest.org
Everyone with a garden should stock up on seeds. Many last for years.
Those without a garden need to start one. Today.
Thats a bit tough for people in big cities and/or in condos.
Or in WNY in November.
That is also a bit tough for one with a fungus that kills everything I got 6 years ago.
I had tomatoes by expensive fungicide and spraying every week,,got old.
I buy my tomatoes to can from the Amish now.
Thanks for the link. I was able to find a local farmer who sells 1/4 and 1/2 cows and also chicken. Time to stock up.
That reminds me that, at the least, I need to buy a freezer.
Want some advice?? I have 4 small freezers because all women my age have lost one in our life times.
If I lose a freezer now, I can put the food in the other 3 that have a little snuggle room and go buy another without losing anything.
Having 4 small freezers lets me have move around room in all and helps a lot.
I have lists on top of freezers every item in them.
One doesn’t get opened a lot..it has canned butter(I did myself) and peanut butter in cases.
Amazing organization.
Darn I didn’t get that lucky! Produce only and no u picks bummer moved too far north of Tampa, bummer.
Thank you.
Bidets time must be coming to an end. Kamallah has come out of hiding and is hitting the circuit, so it looks like the puppet masters are attempting to groom her for the steal.
Who will be “selected” as her second is what should worry everyone.
Hillary. And then we’ll have another case of Arkanside.
she is incapable of being groomed. she cant change.
Well, we here at the MAGA Brain Trust (as some refer to CTH et al.) certainly should already see what the next move will be after the inflation pain intensifies and election 2022 approaches.
As we’ve seen too many times to mention, Dems ONLY thrive in and from crises, because the latter are just prelude to their desired, yet outrageous government action that they always propose as a remedy to the crisis at hand (caused wholly and deliberately by them, may it never be forgotten!).
Dems are evil, but they are not stupid. They know they’ll be facing the electorate one year from now, and a nice little, cooked-up depression would suit them just fine, and once the wailing from long-suffering consumers begins to sound intolerable to skittish Pub politicians, those 7T stimulus packages will sound like sweet music to beleaguered citizens FROM BOTH PARTIES. These panacea stimulus packages will cover such items as: price fixing (they’ll call it price stabilization!) of most staple grocery items, rent and mortgage assistance, job programs, bailouts for bankrupt businesses, aid to farmers etc.
So take a wild guess who would likely win the midterm elections under this kind of scenario? Hint: FDR was elected four consecutive times under similar circumstances.
So, Kevin McCarthy, put down that martini of yours. Your thrilling ride atop that unstoppable red wave was just a pleasant pipe dream. You see, our adversaries play to win, whereas you guys pay to play, and know little else. Worse yet, I imagine you have no idea that the foregoing scenario is exactly where we’re headed as a Nation. Forget about issues like CRT, inflation, Afghanistan, the open border etc. If the Dems have their way, Americans will embrace the Democrat supercharged stimulus packages, while Pubs moan and groan about high taxes and deficits. If that’s the case, Republicans will likely lose every single seat that is up for election in 2022.
Having been involved in many Pubbie campaigns for 30 years, I can attest to Pubbie’s uncanny ability to snatch defeat out of the Jaws of victory… Every time.
It’s mind-boggling.

I wonder how much of her own money Kamala Harris donates to feed starving children? I mean actually feed starving children, not just line some crooked politician’s pocket via their bogus foundation…
Or any other dem for that matter.
There was a study done a few years back, and found that the average Dim gives less than 1.5% of his/her income to charity. Cheap and stingy.
Their idea of charity is taking your tax money by force, and then giving it to “worthy” people/orgs to redistribute.
But, but climate change and domestic terrorists are our biggest concerns.
I wholeheartedly believe they are aiming for the whole shebang, pursuing the Cloward-Piven strategy of bankrupting every system which supports a Republic in favor of what already shows itself to be frighteningly totalitarian.
Stuck in a blue city, those around me looking for any excuse to condemn another for the racism they imagine they see everywhere, and happily still celebrating Godless “marriage” between two men, complaining about rising prices for gasoline and food, long shipping delays, supply warnings from the gas company, but rise up as an army against any suggestion that the befuddled Resident and his evil regime could possibly have any effect on the things that are affecting all of us now.
Most people who write about the end-of-things-as-we-know-them say the first thing people in cities need to do when the insanity hits is to leave.
Do you have family or friends who live in the country and may be able to take you in when things get bad? Get ready now. Find a place to go to be with people you trust. Be prepared to leave quickly and have things you’ll need/want/be able to carry, of personal value and of bartering value, in case you can never go home again.
I pray to God these plans will never have to be used.
I have clueless family who live in the city and fear they have nowhere to go. They are too far away to come home.
Pray they wake up!

Perhaps some idea of what is in this link? it’s just a video without a description. ??
Agree. A link with no description is worthless. In this case, though, Tracy Beanz is AWESOME. If I hadn’t been banned from Twitter, I’d still be following her. I got banned because I wouldn’t give Jack my email address. I’d joined twitter way back when a person could stay anon. Oh — I’m sleeping better now that I’m not reading Twitter. Ha ha.
I am the world’s worst gardener. I come from a long line of farmers and gardeners. Those skills never made it to me. OMG, I am going to have to learn to grow a large vegetable garden and bake homemade bread.
Better buy the ingredients now.
And print off recipes for things that can reasonably be made on a barbeque or wood burning stove top, since they may take the power grid down, too.
There are easy to make no-yeast bread recipes for stove tops. Find and print recipes you want now, along with everything else you’ll want, and put them in an easy to grab and go book.
All Aspen and Willow tree cambium can be dried and ground into powder for baking bread.
That cambium can also be used to treat pain, either by steeping chunks in hot water for tea or by chewing it.
Most evergreen needles have more than enough vitamins in them to keep people from getting Skurvy, just use the needles to make a tea (steep in hot water for 20 minutes and drink) (caution — there are 3 evergreen types that are poisonous, one for sure is Yew, and since I can’t remember the other 2 right now, check it out for yourself and see what type of evergreens grow in your area that are not poisonous. You may want to know and remember that information later on.) “Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Early symptoms of deficiency include weakness, feeling tired and sore arms and legs. Without treatment, decreased red blood cells, gum disease, changes to hair, and bleeding from the skin may occur. As scurvy worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding.” Wikipedia (gack)
Scurvy can start in as little as a month if you are missing vitamin C in your diet. Don’t be fooled that citrus fruits and veggies are the only way to get vitamins; God gloriously gave us His riches in many of the plants we see around us every day. Find out what you can use and eat that is around you now; it may save your life later on.
Also from wikipedia, “In 1536, the French explorer Jacques Cartier, exploring the St. Lawrence River, used the local natives’ knowledge to save his men who were dying of scurvy. He boiled the needles of the arbor vitae tree (eastern white cedar) to make a tea that was later shown to contain 50 mg of vitamin C per 100 grams.” The same section of the article says “such treatments were not available” onboard ships, but that is ridiculous, since evergreen needles could have easily been carried on any ship and used for lots of different things until it was needed to save human lives. Same thing goes today.
If nothing else don’t throw your citrus peels away. Let them dry out and save them for when they will have great value.
Food companies are “boiling” vitamin C out of our food, and there have been lots of reports that scurvy is on the rise again. Funny that, huh? They are purposely depleting vitamins from our food.
And don’t use copper pans for doing any kind of baking or cooking, since copper is known to prevent or diminish the strength of vitamins in food.
So much to learn and remember, and as Sundance is telling us, so little time to do it.
If you have read the labels on canned veggies, peas, green beans and carrots often have zero vitamins listed in the contents…lots of carbs…no protein, no vitamins and very little calcium maybe. Canned foods will curb a hunger pang but that about all.
Campbell tomato soup has a little Vit C listed…and a lot of sodium.
Time to seriously think our preps and plans.
Sundance was right on target about the sheep shot and ‘papers please’…
This and only this is the reason I have bulk multi-vitamins in stock.
Check out http://www.plantcaretoday.com
In other words, be prepared for a nationwide District 12.
Best biscuits are with White Lily–no other flour works.
From a Tennessee 71 yo. that’s cooked for many years.
This is what I needed. A prediction on when it would hit. I trust Sundance alone. I’ve been preparing for it but this gives me a practical timeline to complete my preps. Thank you so much.
What do you get if you feed a million starving Africans ?
Ten million starving Africans.
Enter Bill Gates, with his depopulation agenda!
And a few warlords flush with cash
And remember they wanted to defund police. Hunger is a strong driving force- I know, I grew up poor, I had to steal food on order to eat (and feed my younger bro and sis).
Crime will rise in proportion to the hunger and desperation.
Don’t worry though-those illegals will be fine with their 500k for knowingly breaking out laws.
That’s why I don’t live anywhere near a big city anymore
Why does California not prosecute theft now? Their excuse is it creates criminals.
So if people have no food and steal because of the mandate, what is that?
Or can’t work, or won’t?
We will all be criminals by their laws.
Anyone questioning why Kamala was chosen to be VP. She is a hardcore globalist Marxist who will advance the agenda at any cost and follow orders from the control center.
Once Obama completes the destruction of capitalism, which he loathes, we can re-build America into a one-party glorious dictatorship run exclusively from and for Washington. Time to wake up. Obama will nationalize the energy industry, nationalize the transportation (rail, trucking, shipping and airline) industry, all schools (no evil non-state schools allowed,) and information, entertainment and food distribution to benefit all citizens with adequate loyalty scores!
I fear you may be correct.
Not ozero, but the puppet masters pulling his strings. He is not, and never was, that smart. He is a crackhead loser. The globalists are pulling his strings, and the strings of well over 95% of EVERYONE in the DC area. These people are scum.
We must rise to reach escalating prices.
Soon Obama’s BBB bill will pass and raise taxes on everyone. This will solve all of capitalism’s evil inequities.
If charity begins at home, just how much has Kamala given to charity? That suit she’s wearing would probably feed a family for a couple of months. And the shoes? Probably for the rest of the year. Her entire closet could buy homes for several people. Talk is cheap, Kamala, especially when you’re spending other people’s money.
Well, if there is more than enough food to feed the entire world, can we therefore assume that is because “global warming” is contributing to the production of more crops? Is that not a benefit?
I can testify to the citric acid. I paid $14 for 5lbs a year ago and now it’s $25 for 5lbs. I use it for food preservation, making cheese, and as a cleaning product. This is a basic staple. Can I go without it? As long as I can get lemons I probably could. I guess I’m going to grow a couple of lemon trees in response.
For the unbelievers, buy in bulk and cook from scratch. There’s a gazillion youtube videos and blogs on scratch cooking. It’s not as hard as it seems.
Also lots of videos on what to prep/store. Start now.
Get Mylar bags and a heat sealer.
I purchased a large freezer and have been purchasing extra meat and frozen fruit, vegetables weekly. Those are my go to’s besides eggs and butter, coffee and tea. My quart of half and half lactose free is already over
$4.50/qt. We go through one weekly along with two cartons of eggs.
Papa Barry and maw-maw Piglosi smile as they drive the United States off the cliff.
our farmers can feed the world. But not with high fuel prices, low cattle and produce prices, etc. kneepads Harris is a moron. who will starve? better look out for yourself.
Modern Day Les Miserables.
Oh ye of little faith. So, all doom and gloom huh? Well, that’s a great way to look forward. Its all over people. We won’t be able to eat, to sleep, breathe, crap, smile or cry. It’s all over. The sun will stop shining in February. Think real hard about which of your animals and then kids will have to go on the spit so you will have something to eat. We will be living in caves by May and then the sun will go out for good in June. Fffuchkk that. I ain’t playing this game people. I am not letting fear take over. Nope. I have absolute faith all will work out. I can deal with facts, but nobody can predict where this goes. And having a broken down heart and attitude is not the remedy. Put on a smile and get ready to endure and push through. We got this.
I tend to agree with you. Will the sun stop shining, will the fields stop growing, will it stop raining? no it will not. Somehow the USA will trudge through this. But how much pain and for how long is the question.
“Powder your face with sunshine,
Put on a great big smile…”
All part of The Great Reset (climate change agenda, NWO) which is wealth redistribution and power control.
I encourage everyone to research “Agenda 21” signed by the first George Bush in the 80’s.
I want to tell everyone here—after my husband died in Dec, I had only one person to speak to and we talked for an hour each week about ‘stuff’…I called her one day after January and read her a list of things from an article with title…’you will own nothing and you will be happy’..
She was shocked, not me, and most of those things are discussed now every day…the article??? Canada was condoning all the items in that article…yes–in early 2021!
Bookmarked this from a prepper a few years ago.he lists his top 10.before you read, try to guess his # 1 food to stock up on.https://www.askaprepper.com/if-i-could-only-stockpile-10-foods/
which I do not agree with
In early 2020 things were great and we were heading into economic expansion and wealth creation under MAGA. Now we have an installed regime of criminals ruining our country and the world by destroying everything they touch.
I enjoyed listening to President Trump yesterday and I hope the GOP understand it’s their last chance to do the right thing. Personally, I don’t think they get it or care. They are mostly rich and connected and will never feel the pain of doing nothing. The cure to our massive debts shouldn’t be repudiation of the debt by inflation, and that includes pension obligations. It’s as criminal as stealing.
Of all the things that worried me in retirement, inflation was number one. I receive a fixed pension which I try to live on without reaching into my savings.
I bought 2 large hams yesterday at Winn-Dixie at $1.29 lbs. I bought bags of Navy beans for the leftovers. I suspect these deals will be few in the future.
I really hope the producers will increase production and supply soon. It will slow down the price increases, but they never lower them once they get the asking rate, unless there is a glut.
I don’t think we’ll ever see the deflation of the 1990s onward, when Asia started dumping products and manufacturing moved over there, except in the very-term for some products, caused by the bottle necks in the supply chain releasing good into the market.
God help us!
My time in this life will be ending soon. When the shooting starts I’m all in.
I think that TPTB are wanting the prices to massively spike…and all those container ships of products…will see a double, triple or quadrupling of price when and if they finally hit the markets.
Giving Africans food for free bankrupts the local farmers, which hurts their suppliers and vendors of their products so everyone in the country becomes poorer. And the government collects less in taxes so schools, pension funds, and programs for the handicapped all have less money.
…and the uni-party sits idly by, accumulating beer, bourbon and beef.
“We must instead agree that these growing gaps are unacceptable,”
Why is Que mala Harris drawing attention to Stacy Abrams’ teeth at an international forum? ?
My question is…How long does this pain last? 1 yr, 2 yrs, forever?
My parents, brother, hubby and son farm/ranch and the price of fertilizer has tripled in the last year IF you can find it. Corn and milo require significant amounts of fertilizer so I’m sure there will be more soybeans planted. Corn shortages are definitely coming. Shame on us for using food to fuel autos. Winter wheat is planted but will require more fertilizer this spring. Please pray for us.
Here comes, miss America!
World hunger because world peace isn’t selling in this beauty pageant.
Can’t produce food without energy, Kamala. You should look into this whole food production thing . . . you know, when you’re done fixing the border.
Maybe we should quit converting corn to fuel.
My firewood stack is becoming more valuable every day.
It may be worth millions before winter is over.
The biggest disconnect is that the COVID responses supported by the likes of Harris are the very policies causing the problem. Heck, even the self-unaware U.N. said last year that the worldwide economic fallout from the response would be catastrophic for the poor. And that includes the poor in the U.S.
While I agree with the base premise I think the law of supply and demand still is in play. There are lots of states still open for business and interested in making and providing products and services. Raw material shortages, spot price increases and other dynamics will impact availability but I think for most things production will increase where a profit can be made, alternatives will be identified and people will adapt. Think toilet paper and cleaning products this time last year. Think Victory Gardens and rationing in WWII. The winter will be the worst because of the natural lack of food from growing. Once we hit about April the farms across the south (home/small/large) will be producing in scale again.
I grew up in a time where families had 1 car, 1 TV and didn’t eat much that was out of season or even eat out. It’s not a big deal if we, as a society, head back towards that model of living. (except to those getting rich off providing the frills of life).
I also think you are starting to see serious push back from a significant slice of the richer Dem donor class as they begin to understand that they are going to get flushed away along with the middle class if things continue trending towards collapse.
A lot of people predicted total collapse and doom last winter. Didn’t happen except perhaps for a few unfortunates who lived in deep blue states or big cities. Don’t think it’s this winter either. But mid term election period could be very, very interesting
Know what bothers me?? I can enjoy a meal of spaghetti pasta and home canned tomatoes–salt/pepper.
How many can feed their family doing that?
Zucchini/frozen corn and broccoli in olive oil…delicious and feeds two for $2. Add polish sausage and a meal for a king.
I have bookmarked this piece in order to provide the link to the leftists in my life in the Spring.
Thank You Sundance!
Non citizens, anchor babies and naturalized citizens (via the old fashion way – (i) live here as a legal alien after demonstrating that you can support yourself and family (nuclear and extended if they gain entry through familiar relationship without government assistance); (ii) learn US history and laws and customs; (iii) again, demonstrate you can support yourself and your family; (iv) pay federal income taxes in five of every seven years on a rolling basis over a total of 15 years; (v) do not get arrested, do not get convicted of a felony, do not overstay your Visa, if deported do not re enter the country; and (vi) then come explain why you should be allowed to be a citizen of the USA) should not be able to hold elected office or have any role in government.
Kamala Harris has done MORE to damage women’s opportunities world wide. Not only has she demonstrated that if you sleep your way to the top you can become VP one day. She also has demonstrated that in spite of her “ascent” through power circles and her advanced graduate education, she’s still one dumb female with emotional instability at the basis of all decision making. She’s demonstrated over and over again an imbalanced psychological state that viciously strikes out at those who threaten her.
