Hollywood actor, producer and political activist Alec Baldwin is a man of notoriously intemperate disposition. Prone to angry outbursts and uncontrollable anger, the unstable Mr. Baldwin is well known for physical and verbal violence against people he dislikes {link} even his own children.
Yesterday the 68-year-old Baldwin shot two people on a film set in New Mexico killing one and seriously injuring another. Mr Baldwin killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza. The unstable actor claims he shot them accidentally and has reportedly said he is sorry to the husband of the deceased woman he killed.
Vanity Fair – […] “Details surrounding the shooting, which occurred while a scene was being filmed, are still forthcoming. “Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Bonanza Creek Ranch movie set of the Western Rust, October 21, 2021, when an 911 caller reported a shooting on the set,” investigators confirmed to Vanity Fair Friday. According to Sheriff’s department spokesman Juan R. Rios, “Mr. Baldwin met with investigators and provided a statement and answered their questions. He then left our agency. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.” Baldwin’s reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday. (read more)
Mr. Baldwin’s wife, Hilairia Baldwin, was recently caught pretending to be life-long Latina in order to enhance her woke credentials amid the far-leftists in their political social circle. She apologized for her lies, manipulation and years of cultural appropriation. Together they have many children and live an affluent lifestyle enabled by a community of supporters who identify with violent sensibilities as an outcome of tribal similarity.
First of all, what kind of idiot would pay money to see Alec Baldwin in a western? I’m sorry for the victims though.
What kind of idiot would pay to see Baldwin in anything.
The same kind that would vote for Biden.
Our Republic is teeming with idiots.
Watch the Academy Award officials next year make sure the poor Halyna Hutchins doesn’t even make it into the ‘In Memoriam’ segment.
Remember, we are dealing with the never let a crisis go to waste crowd.
I expect them to do a special segment and talk about outlawing guns.
2:1 odds Baldwin commits suicide….. and does it before 12/31/21 before any Biden tax hikes on estate taxes are passed affecting Tax Year 2021. That way Hilaria can enroll in ESL classes.
It wouldn’t bother me one bit if that hateful POS offed himself.
I want to know what Alec’s blood alcohol level was. And was a total UDS done on him? You know…like OSHA. Like any adverse or sentinel event? SMH
Alcohol and drug tests! Great idea.
Alcohol and drug testing!? Thats gonna put a lot of actors out of business, I tell ya!
Why was Baldwin aiming the gun at the cinematographer and director? Why would he shoot at them? Are they part of the movie scene?
I imagine we will find out he was mishandling a loaded firearm. Anti gun zealot actors should always refuse roles involving fire arms.
Had Baldwin truly lived to his personal offscreen position on guns while acting, this incident would not have occurred.
Now he lives forever with this tragedy.
Just playin around here will say
Everyone is asking the exact same question. No answers will be forthcoming. The entire thing will be buried and forgotten because it’s Woke Holly Weird…….all Commies are protected
That was the first thing that came to my mind. Why was he pointing the gun at someone while pulling the trigger. How could he “accidentally” kill two people? It means he shot two bullets before he realized he had hit someone? On the radio news they are saying there was one live round in the gun…so one bullet hit two people?
love triangle
My understanding it was a side arm. If Alec was fully vaccinated would this make it a side effect?
Definitely another Covid Death.
This has happened before and it is usually with revolvers because semi-automatic pistols need to be modified to use blanks in order to have their actions function realistically; revolvers don’t need to be modified for film use. Procedures are what is supposed to keep them safe. There should never be real, live ammo on a film set, since it would NEVER be used for filming.
Blanks can be lethal if fired too close to a person (the blast can dislodge pieces of the skull and force it into the brain), but a blank cartridge, by itself, would not kill one person and go on to injure a second person.
The last time something liked this happened, a bullet (the projectile) from a dummy round (bullet in case with no powder or primer) got dislodged from the case. When the blank was put in for the scene to be filmed, the powder in the blank forced the bullet from the dummy round out of the barrel. The process is to make sure that the barrel and cylinder are clear before loading blanks.
I hate to let Baldwin off, but it isn’t typically the actor’s job to make sure that the gun is ‘safe’ – people in that industry know that the actors can’t be trusted and that’s why processes were created.
Of course, that is assuming that the film was doing things correctly..
I see your point, but if Baldwin had followed the 4 rules of firearms safety this would not have happened. He pointed a firearms at someone and pulled the trigger. That’s on him.
Absolutely right!
Read that they were using a real gun, instead of a prop, so mabe it was never properly checked as blanks were loaded. But still, even with a blank loaded prop, always aim just off to the side, never at the person. I won’t even point my unloaded, and no CO2 cartridge , air pistol at my little pup. You NEVER do these stupid things, only a libtard who knows nothing about gun handling would point any weapon at a person
I’m giving no one a pass, here. I know people in that industry, know how the process is supposed to work and that this has happened in the past.
Film makers do a lot of things that are intrinsically ‘unsafe’.. car chases, explosions, falls, gun fights, etc that require things like pointing and firing firearms at people for a story line. Basic rules of safety are modified all the time to make it as safe as possible.
In this case there would normally be a weapons person responsible for the gun being ‘safe’ before and after every time the actor touched it.
Doesn’t matter what the prop guy or on-set armorer should have done, the one using the weapon has the final duty to make safe.
Trust nobody to make safe a weapon that you will be holding.
In other sites regarding this incident, in the comments the Commie turds are blaming the props department. Imagine that! Always blame someone else. Never take responsibility.
They circled the wagons around the SOB Baldwin.
The first thing out of Baldwins mouth was “ Who gave me a hot gun ? “
Not, are the people i shot okay , not oh my word how can I help , not rushing to victims side , not taking control and getting 911.
just “ me , me , me , me … I’m not to blame , who did this to ME ? “
I just find that so telling.
In the real word, yes, but a moment’s thought would tell you that no scene with a firearm could ever be filmed if that were the case. The entire set-up is artificial, and those checks SHOULD have already been performed and NO live rounds even belong in the vicinity – everything being filmed is fake.
That’s why proper gun safety training teaches you never to point a gun at anything you don’t intend to kill.
Filming a Western. Probably a Colt 45?
Sorry to disagree. It is a gun, and the person holding it is responsible for the safety of the weapon. What happened was Negligent Homicide. I have carried weapons at work and now everyday being retired. Never take anyone’s word dangerous things are not dangerous. Make sure yourself.
Regardless of the need of a good Criminal Attorney, Mr. Baldwin will need a very, very Good Civil Attorney.
Ms. Hutchins’ husband is is a lawyer. This could get interesting.
I wouldn’t count on it.
“Hutchins’ husband confirmed to Fox News that Baldwin has been supportive during this time.
“I have spoken with Alec Baldwin and he is being very supportive,” Matthew Hutchins told Fox News.”
https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/alec-baldwin-family-packing-up-hamptons-movie-set-shooting-rust
Well, then, I guess that does it!!
The Husband Is Still In Shock! The other legal bullets will certainly fly further down the line as anyone knows who has lost a loved one.
Exactly. Baldwin needs to be charged with manslaughter. He was holding, aiming the gun at people with his finger on the trigger.
How can you absolve any actor for pointing a gun at someone off camera and pulling the trigger?
Once identified as not part of the scene, he has the same responsibilities as any other person with a gun.
If you point and pull the trigger, you are responsible! No less than “Reckless Disregard”!
Shooting the cinematographer was Baldwin’s idea and not part of the script. He is responsible for his action. Baldwin had to have known about prior firearm mistakes in the movie industry.
Exactly. If it was not part of the scene.
I refuse to “let Baldwin off.” Or Liam Neeson. Or any of the other rabid Hollywood Hypocrites who bluster that guns are evil and should be confiscated, all the while using guns to make their $Millions!
My sympathy to the injured and dead and their loved ones. As for Baldwin, some call it Karma. My spouse’s mother called it, “what goes around, comes around.”
All actors so passionate against guns off-screen should absolutely reject all roles involving guns.
That they don’t, and often guns are primary to the plot, makes their personal anti-gun position ring hollow.
Not all actors, but they are certainly the ones the media promotes. Keanu Reeves is a shooter. I’ve met others that you’ve never heard anything about one way or the other.
“What goes around comes around” is too random and alleviates responsibility for one’s actions. For Baldwin “you reap what you sow” is more apt.
It’s a western period piece movie so it would be a revolver
And how many times do we see the gun pointing at the camera in films… all the time. It’s become a cliche. She was the Director of Photography and he was the Director. They would normally be sitting to get the same view as the camera.
I don’t know anything about this case, but a single round could pass through one person and hit another.
So – then whose fault is it – if not Baldwin – that his finger squeezed the trigger – twice?
There is a noticeable difference in recoil between firing a blank round (none) and firing a live round, no matter how that live round came about. If Baldwin fired twice, he’s completely at fault for the second round, but as I said elsewhere a live round is capable of passing through a person and injuring another.
“ There is a noticeable difference in recoil between firing a blank round (none) and firing a live round,..”
How can a blank round cycle a firearm if it releases no recoil energy? Asking for a physics professor friend I happen to know…
Hi Christian,
In the case of revolvers, the action is manually cycled by the shooter – single action revolvers need the hammer pulled back which rotates the cylinder and puts the hammer in a cocked state so that pulling the trigger would fire the gun. In a double action revolver pulling the trigger cocks the hammer, rotates the cylinder and fires the gun.
Semi autos (no matter the specific system) are designed to function with ammunition that operate within a normal range of specifications for the that particular caliber animation.
This is why movies often use unmodified revolvers.
To make a movie semi-automatic gun work, the short-term pressure is increased by making the barrel bore (opening) much smaller than it was designed for (or closed entirely) – and sometimes the recoil spring is lightened. This allows the action to function with a much lower pressure.
Recoil is the equal and opposite reaction to the energy generated by propelling the projectile at velocity.
You might feel something firing a semi-auto setup to fire blanks, but it will be insignificant compared to the normal recoil that comes with generating several hundred foot-pounds of energy.
So, ‘none’ is probably an exaggeration, but wholely accurate when it comes to feel. Anyone who’s ever shot a handgun would instantly know the difference.
😉
Does nothing to answer question: Were the cinematographer & director in the cast playing role of victims?
Baldwin has shot off his foul mouth with hate filled speech for years & in my opinion is a leftist wing-nut. And that factor will get his case dismissed regardless of what facts are. Noticed he wasn’t held in jail.
A perfectly rational explanation, Steve, and, of course, a semi-automatic pistol would not appear in a Western unless the prop manager was a total dunce. This sounds like the plot from a TV murder mystery, though. Someone could have snuck in a live round so as to either sabotage the production for whatever reason, or to “get” or frame someone, with Baldwin as the useful idiot in the middle.
Anything is possible, but everything I’ve stated here has happened before.
Baldwin disgusts me. Hollywood is filled with people like him.
Hollywood makes films that are intrinsically dangerous. In the case of gun scenes, the filmmakers know that they will be passing the firearm off to an idiot, something a sane person would never do in real life. That’s why they’ve developed the processes that they have. The processes generally do work, and like with air disasters, they try to learn from a failure and lower the risk fro the future.
The people who make the John Wick series of films (where so many actors are shot at very close range) have completely closed off the barrels of their movie guns, and use special, low-power blanks that only realistically operate the action. The muzzle flash (and blood) is added digitally in post-production. It’s more expensive to do this, but it is in the interest of safety.
“ The last time something liked this happened, a bullet (the projectile) from a dummy round (bullet in case with no powder or primer) got dislodged from the case. When the blank was put in for the scene to be filmed, the powder in the blank forced the bullet from the dummy round out of the barrel.”
You evidently know nothing about interior ballistics.
A bullet cannot lodge itself in the barrel (“no powder or primer”) without being driven in by the primer exploding and igniting the powder charge.
If a bullet gets stuck in the barrel, a subsequent round will bulge the barrel when the bore obstruction is encountered.
It matters not if the subsequent round is a blank or a live round. The previous round will not exit and the expanding gasses from the “live” round will be vented through the cylinder gap instead of dislodging the bore obstruction.
The Brandon Lee case had a bullet that was pushed into the barrel’s forcing cone from a incorrectly prepared (live primer, no powder) dummy round when the primer provided enough energy to push the bullet there. The next round fired the gun, and I’ve seen nothing to indicate that it bulged the barrel. Brandon Lee was certainly killed by the projectile that left the barrel.
HK tested their MK 23 pistol through tens of thousands of rounds including leaving a bullet lodged in the barrel and firing a live round after it.. only once did that externally bulged the barrel (both rounds left the gun and it was able to continue firing afterward) – it still met accuracy specifications afterwards.
I’ve seen a person fire a squib round that did not clear the barrel and before I could stop them they pulled the trigger on the next round. They were lucky that they were not hurt and there was no obvious gun damage, but both rounds left the barrel, and both hit the target – though widely separated.
You are correct that barrel bulging can happen, but wrong that it will always happen.
And please, don’t be fatally wrong that the bullet(s) will stop and the gases will be vented at the cylinder gap; that just isn’t so. The cylinder gap does not allow enough pressure to be released quickly enough (though if you are lucky(unlucky?), the cylinder can fail releasing the pressure.
No that’s all BS. Not trying to argue with you but Baldwin needs to go to prison. One of two things happened.
There are no other explanations. It was on purpose or accidental. Either way Baldwin is responsible for the death of one woman and the injury of one man and he should go to prison for this but he won’t.
Fat stupid clown who makes faces for a living accidently kills two. I feel sad for the two families who lost a loved one. Do think Alec Baldwin will stop being crass, stupid, and arrogant and behave in a proper manner over this? We’ll see.
More people die daily from a loaded syringe than they do from a loaded gun.
He killed the woman and wounded the man.
This idiot has always been a lunatic. One never points any gun whether it’s a blank gun or a toy gun at anybody much less pull the trigger. It’s his fault and no one elses.
I’m unclear as to whether a scene was being filmed at the time or not, but if it was, it makes perfect sense that the victims were “down range” from the actor at the time, since they had to be in a position to evaluate the take. If not, your point is well taken.
He already blaming everything and anybody, playing stupid games get stupid results, a shame he didn’t point it at himself.
Why is an actor pointing and shooting a gun at the director and photographer who aren’t actors and part of the scene?
THIS is the question that law enforcement (and everyone else) should be asking!
Baldwin may have wanted the cinematographer to set up a “dramatic” shot of the camera looking down the barrel of a gun.
Soon, very soon, he and his lefty friends will be blaming the gun.
Don’t blame the gun…..blame the blank.
#cancelblanks&bullets.
/s
This!
The gun went off. That will be the defense.
Better: the gun went off all by itself!
This makes the killer less culpable than, “I didn’t know the gun was loaded!”
IF I’m not mistaken sometimes guns are used on set with full powder charge and plastic/soft material in place of the bullett. Other times, its just a powder charge. The two sound different, so they are used in different situations. In any case, its the responsibility of the Prop man to inform the actor what is in the gun and to make sure no dangerous bullets are NOT being used. bruce lee was killed when a “dum dum” got stuck in the barrell and no one checked. So, when the “Blank” cartirage was fired it killed Lee.
Brandon Lee. Not Bruce. And the ultimate responsibility lies with the person holding the gun. Not some prop guy.
I want to know why he pointed the gun at the woman. Even in movies there is no need to pull the trigger with the line of site on the other actor. Camera angles can be used as an extra safety precaution. It’s 2021. There is no need to shoot any gun whether prop or real at another actor.
The victims were not actors. Not part of any scene. Behind the cameras only.
It was Brandon Lee, but you are correct on how he died.
Even when Person 1 hands a gun to Person 2, saying “It’s not loaded,” who has the ultimate responsibility to assume it IS loaded until verifying whether it is or not? Person 2, the one holding the gun. Baldwin’s fault.
Mmmmm, so killing one wasn’t enough, he re aims and injures another…Mmmmm
SteveC commented above:
” If Baldwin fired twice, he’s completely at fault for the second round, but . . . a live round is capable of passing through a person and injuring another.”
He was wondering about “killing someone” in September 2017…
“AlecBaldwin
@AlecBaldwln____
I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone…

-now he knows.
The Alecsky Method.
Every place he shows up there need to be “killer….killer…..killer” chants. At least Cheney had the decency not to terminate his victim.
I have to pee in a cup in order for the privilege of being allowed to make a living. So why didnt the Sheriffs Department make this turd get a urinalysis? I would think the insurance company of the production outfit would require this in the event of an accident when possible. I think Baldnuts should have had a blood test done since a death was involved.I sure hope this isn’t some sort of coverup ( I do hope).
At a minimum he’s guilty of negligent homicide, involuntary manslaughter. If they don’t prosecute him criminally, after all it happened in demo-fascist New Mexico, one hopes the victims’ families sue him into oblivion.
Maybe the glove don’t fit!!!!
He aimed and fired a gun at two people. Why did he do that? Was he expressing his hate for them?
The director announced a second take, and Baldwin expressed his disagreement: “Second take? How about I just shoot you two m-effers instead?”
He might have thought he was making another very witty Baldwin joke.
I read he was quickly blame-shifting: “Why didn’t anyone tell me I was handed a hot gun?”
Is that true?
I’m not the smartest person in the Treehouse by any means (although I know enough not to point a gun at anyone), so I don’t understand how you can accidentally shoot TWO people. Please explain.
The movie being filmed is a western, for realism the prop gun would be of that era, a revolver, black powder, single action and easy to check to see if it’s loaded. If they were shot by anything else then it came from a different gun and homicide should be charged.
So let me get this straight…if you’re sorry you shot and killed someone and injured another, you won’t get arrested. Especially if you are a liberal celebrity. Got it.
Alec Baldwin is despicable nasty jerk. It was reported he was fond of beating Kim Basinger, his first wife, so this is the natural escalation of violence against women.
He’ll be in front of a camera soon slobbering about what happened, begging for forgiveness. Probably with George Stephanopoulos(?) where he’ll announce a full throated attack on the 2nd Amendment until his dying day. He’ll be forgiven and the beatings can carry on.
As he is on the “right side of issues.
Hope to hear a comment from Clint.
I have no problem believing this was an accident.
I also have no problem believing Mr. Baldwins history of anger problems, short temper, and psychical violence were likely major contributing causes to that accident.
Under the liberals’ definition of “gun violence,” Baldwin is guilty of an act of workplace gun violence.
He’s also shot and killed more innocent unarmed citizens than 99.99999% of cops.
This is the comment of the day!
From above pic: Is Baldwin playing the Gabby Hayes role?
“Well I’ll be an egg sucking mule”!
I remember him saying that line in an old western.
Heh, Hayes had a way with phrases as a good character and western sidekick actor.
Baldwin could never do justice to such a role.
IMO
I predict an Oprah special in the near future.
Get out the tissue, if so.
She would have been right next to the camera with the director standing behind her. He was probably aiming directly at the camera or just to the other side, away from them.
He may have been under the influcence and pointed it directly at them as a ‘joke’ while they were rehearsing or even filming the scene.
Actors are trained to never point a ‘prop’ gun at anyone on set during filming. They are to aim to the side of any other cast member in the safest direction. The camera angle is adjusted to compensate.
I don’t like anything about Alec.
But, whatever was loaded and came out of that gun was not planned by him. I believe Alec had no idea this would happen. He would have never purposefully done this to anyone working on his set.
Guess he proved it.
Guns don’t kill people – Liberals kill people
Shame he missed.
I understand the shoot was not going well and there were money issues. Was the filming insured and will this “accident” result in an insurance payout?
When Alec hollers, “Cut!”….. he means it.
BYE BYE LOSER…
This whole thing wreaks.
The man is toxic. If he had spent even a fraction of his time learning about gun safety rather than ranting about gun owners, his victim would likely be alive. The most basic safety rules, learned by my children when they were twelve, would have instilled in him a respect for guns.
Alec Baldwin ‘Rust’ camera crew walked off the set in protest before the fatal shooting —The cinematographer who was killed, Halyna Hutchins, had been advocating for safer conditions for her team, said one crew member who was on the set.. The camera operators and their assistants were frustrated by the conditions surrounding the low-budget film, including complaints of long hours and getting their paychecks, according to three people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to comment.
The camera crew showed up for work as expected at 6:30 a.m. Thursday and began gathering up their gear and personal belongings to leave, one knowledgeable crew member told the Los Angeles Times.
Labor trouble had been brewing for days on the dusty set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe.
Shooting began on Oct. 6 and members of the production said they had been promised the production would pay for their hotel rooms in Santa Fe.
But after filming began, the crews were told they instead would be required to make the 50-mile drive from Albuquerque each day, rather than stay overnight in nearby Santa Fe.
https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2021-10-22/alec-baldwin-rust-camera-crew-walked-off-set
Their union contract probably specifies travel distance allowed such as they do with construction workers. 50 miles is probably within the union contract where their is no additional compensation. Tough luck.
“Low Budget” means safety is first to go . Isn’t that right, Mr. “Producer” Baldwin?
Imagine how angry he was at the the film crew for asking what they were promised. Alec Baldwin would have had a fit while they walked off the set. No doubt, he would have expressed his displeasure at the lowly woman— who was advocating on the crew’s behalf.
I don’t believe shooting the director or the director of photography was in the screenplay. Mr Baldwin is not supposed to handle a propgun in a way not described in the screenplay.
In light of later reporting, some referenced prior and archived here -> https://archive.ph/mtKXj
If some of the camera crew walked off the set then the director, Halyna, may have been thrust into a more active role behind the actual cameras, putting her in position between or during takes if a camera shot is being set up or performed, meaning an actor setting up or acting out a shot directed in the direction of the camera, later edited into interaction with others in the film. That’s one explanation of many possibilities. In any event, rest in peace to Halyna.
All I can say about Smart Alec Baldwin is – it sucks to be him.
Jack Posobiec Twitter:
Set member tells @HumanEvents that Alec Baldwin was rehearsing a church scene with the cinematographer when he drew the gun and said something like ‘is this what you want?’ and then pulled the trigger. Director was standing behind her.
Bullet struck abdomen, then exited and struck director’s shoulder, per member
Arrogance , if true.
At the bare minimum, this is manslaughter. With there being issues before hand with the deceased looking for safer conditions for her crew, it could easily be murder.
what a nasty piece of work he is.
Excellent The NY Times style headline!
Ridicule is the best weapon
(other than a prop gun, that is).
Baldwin may have used his own gun. Live ammo is NEVER brought on set, it’s no accident when this happens. The industry will cover for him tho.
Maybe Alec Baldwin will turn a new leaf after this and get some humility.
Haha. Hi there
This is how they did the safety check –
Good lord. It’s a wonder more people weren’t hurt.
Hollywood city people…fake guns..fake ideas..fakes marriages…fake morality…fake everything..
until it gets real…
these are special people.
stay as far away from these city people…they don’t have one single ounce of authenticity.
I refuse clemency to Liam Neeson.
“I didn’t mean it”, “I didn’t know it was loaded” , “I never meant for this to happen” “I’m Sorry!”
None of the above are ‘get out of jail free’ conditions. If he doesn’t do time for this, It will set a really bad precedent.
I pray for Halyna Hutchins Husband and Family…
“Look, dawlin’…Alec Baldwin. The deadliest pistoleer since Wild Bill Hickock. Should I hate him?”
I just loves me some Tombstone.
Alex said he was practicing for a new role on SNL. Dick Chaney. (Sarcasm)
In fact I wonder what he thought and said of Dickie when that happened.
Sarc understood but to clarify for the ‘younguns,’ Cheney didn’t kill his hunting buddy.
Shooting one is an accident two really?
We’d need a diagram of the set and the locations of the persons involved to analyze for a modicum of accuracy. If the two staff were in near proximity, and the round exiting the gun was an actual bullet, it could easily pass through one person, Halyna in this case, and part or all impact the other person.
I don’t know the details of the weapon but if it was a western-style revolver of the era shooting black powder cartridges, plenty of velocity and mass to do some damage, presuming somehow a full power powder load impacted an actual lead bullet. Sad. Preventable.
