Hollywood actor, producer and political activist Alec Baldwin is a man of notoriously intemperate disposition. Prone to angry outbursts and uncontrollable anger, the unstable Mr. Baldwin is well known for physical and verbal violence against people he dislikes {link} even his own children.
Yesterday the 68-year-old Baldwin shot two people on a film set in New Mexico killing one and seriously injuring another. Mr Baldwin killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza. The unstable actor claims he shot them accidentally and has reportedly said he is sorry to the husband of the deceased woman he killed.
Vanity Fair – […] “Details surrounding the shooting, which occurred while a scene was being filmed, are still forthcoming. “Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Bonanza Creek Ranch movie set of the Western Rust, October 21, 2021, when an 911 caller reported a shooting on the set,” investigators confirmed to Vanity Fair Friday. According to Sheriff’s department spokesman Juan R. Rios, “Mr. Baldwin met with investigators and provided a statement and answered their questions. He then left our agency. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.” Baldwin’s reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday. (read more)
Mr. Baldwin’s wife, Hilairia Baldwin, was recently caught pretending to be life-long Latina in order to enhance her woke credentials amid the far-leftists in their political social circle. She apologized for her lies, manipulation and years of cultural appropriation. Together they have many children and live an affluent lifestyle enabled by a community of supporters who identify with violent sensibilities as an outcome of tribal similarity.
Look at Baldwin you can see the mental illness. He is an accidental waiting to happen. He is always stomping around and making threats. This time he did it. His ignorance of a blank firearm or a temper tantrum that went lethal. He pointed the gun and pulled the trigger.
Keystone, SD, 2011 an actor in western show about a shot-out accidentally shot the audience.
Here’s the way it’s supposed to work.
When shooting a movie involving the use of firearms the production company will contact one of the large Hollywood firearm prop companies. These companies have thousands of guns, including machine guns, most all of them real and legal. Along with production company personnel they will identify and select period correct firearms for use in the production. Those are then rented out.
NO ONE can possess, handle, use or direct the use of any one of those firearms without the consent of a fully licensed Armorer / firearms handler who is part of or paid by the production company. These protocols are incredibly strict.
For every scene that involves firearms the Armorer sets up a table with ONLY the firearms that will be used for the particular scene. This includes blanks and dummy rounds depending on the scene.
The Armorer MUST physically inspect each gun and each round to make sure they are SAFE. The Armorer cannot leave the table unattended while firearms are present.
It seems that in this instance a director grabbed Baldwin’s firearm from the table, took it to him and declared it “cold”. That was obviously a breach of protocol. As it turns out the firearm had a live round in it, or as happened in 1993, a bullet was lodged in the barrel which was then propelled by the blank cartridge. Either way it was not inspected, not “cold” and was given to Baldwin by someone not legally authorized to handle the firearm.
It matters not. If anyone is going to be criminally charged it will be the licensed armorer.
Wha? I’ve been handed guns dozens of times over the years, and never once did I point it at someone and/or pull the trigger. Regardless of who gave him a gun, and what they said or didn’t say, he’s the only one culpable for this.
I’ve handled guns many, many thousands of times. And yes, the rule applies. But not in the movies and tv shows.
That’s why the very strict protocols, all the responsibility of one person on the set: a trained, certified and LICENSED Armorer. Everything that has to do with guns on a set are that person’s responsibility.
Sounds like the dram law.
The bartender is certified so the bar is not liable, the bartender is.
Baldwin and the Armorer are both responsible, but the person who likely takes the fall will be the one with the deepest pockets.
And I have NEVER witnessed the cart with the guns left unattended for anyone to walk up and take anything without direct permission from either props or the armorer
Just saw the Armorer in TGP this morning. One would have to be an idiot to hire her to do anything but a porno flick. But Baldwin was a co-producer so has to be paying her!
I agree with this. The lady Hannah is basically a teenager with no experience to handle the job. She worked on other movies, but sorry, she had no clue what she was doing. It will fall on her shoulders. Some of you people angry with Baldwin, saying he pulled the trigger and so on….. consider movies where hundreds of actors had gun all with blanks and nobody got killed. The old westerns and old war films. They had a protocol and standard so nobody would get hurt, its called acting and a stage. New Mexican police already said the set was not safe and that will stay that through this whole ordeal. If something was intentional, let then fish that out and we will see. At least they were trying to make a realistic looking movie with real guns, not just CGI or plastic crap.
Alec Baldwin is the emotional equivalent of Anthony Fremont, from ‘It’s a Good Life’ Twilight Zone episode.
Lot of missing information.
Did this occur during the filming of a scene?
If it wasn’t part of a specific scene, was Baldwin monkeying around at the time?
How many times did he discharge the firearm before realising something was wrong?
Was the “prop guy” on set?
All good questions, two already answered. The gun was only fired once. The round hit both persons. The scene was being set up and practiced. A dressed rehearsal.
Apparently the Armorer, who is not a prop person, was replaced by another. If that is the case and remains to be seen, the chain of custody of the guns might have been broken. That’s probably illegal.
If what you say is true about the Armorer being replaced by another it begs the question, why was he replaced and who did the replacing. I also found it interesting that the gal that was shot and killed was raised on a Soviet military base.
Lock Baldwin up in Rikers prison without bail until his trial. He deserves the same treatment as what he wishes upon the J6 accused.
I shot the camera chick,
but I did not shoot the director.
He’ll walk. With ease.
I simply cannot fathom this kind of stupidity. The man is opposed to firearms, and yet he’s walking around with one – HAVING NOT CHECKED IT FIRST FOR LOADED/UNLOADED CONDITION – and with absolutely no idea of what barrel and finger control means. He is the worst kind of idiot, because he’s a dangerous one.
Obviously, hollywood has such unbelievable confidence in their “actors” that they let them wander about, doing whatever they like with their “prop guns”. This man and all like him, are FOOLS.
But he’ll be laughing and joking this week, as if it never happened.
Because baldwin is a lefty moron from nyc who has no clue about the proper safety of firearms. Guns are very safe in the possession of educated, serious gun owners, like myself. Baldwin proves anti gun leftists are truly ignorant about anything having to do with guns. The idiot should have had the good sense to educate himself about the proper handling of firearms even though he hates them. After all, he works with firearms professionally.
I hope the cinematographer’s estate sues the shit out of him in civil court.
He’s also a hypocrite. He vehemently hates guns and gun owners, but is more than willing to toss these “values” out for personal profit.
The CREW walked off set shortly before this tragic event took place and they were replaced by locals. Was this revenge for the poor treatment they claim? Did someone from the prior crew replace blanks w live ammo? Baldwin is a prick but something is off.
I agree.
Heard that but seems to have been scrubbed. Chain of possession seems screwy too. Leaving weapons on a cart? If I were the armorer I wouldn’t leave them anywhere and would not bow to workplace pressure to be accommodating.
Liberal privilege – the idea that you can point a loaded gun at someone and pull the trigger yet bear no responsibility because it was supposed to be unloaded.
This guy has been railing against the NRA for years. So sad that the reality is that the most introductory level class would have ensured that this didn’t happen. He should have been receiving NRA training if he was handling the firearms. I am willing to bet his 24 year old armored who was in charge of the weapons also received no NRA training.
Read JAS comments to answer your own question. The scene dictates which way the actor points the gun and depending on the camera angle it is quite possible, various crew members will be in the potential line of fire. That is why there are strict safety procedures and a licensed Armorer who has control of the weapon at all times till the scene is shot. He hands the weapon to the actor before the scene and takes it back afterwards. Baldwin is a Left wing prick but he is not responsible for the loaded weapon, the Armorer is. He is responsible for acting out the scene as written and has a right to assume the weapon is safe. There was a major break down in safety procedures which lead to a tragic situation. Baldwin will have to live with the fact he pulled the trigger regardless of the breakdown of safety procedures and who is leally responsible. We should not let politics blind us to the facts of the situation. The full investigation by the authorities will revel what happened and where the responsibility lies. This is not the same situation as hunting or going to the range, it is more like troop maneuvers or historical reenactors enacting a battle. The safety procedures are different. Politics have nothing to do with this situation.
Mel Gibson pinpointed the ugly truth. Check out his explanation on Telegram.
I’m not finding it.
Could you cut and paste?
I’m hearing that the 2 victims were Registered Republicans.
LET’S GO BRANDON !
If he wasn’t so anti-Second Amendment and had some training, he’d know, you absolutely NEVER point a gun at another person. It proves ya’ can’t teach ignorance.
I’m waiting for the rest of the story.
Just FYI:

Baldwin may lose it all over this and get to live as one of the people he so despises. Deplorable!
Stupid man. Love this song from Sting. I hope the same fate awaits Baldwin. A BIG POP in his EGO balloon. He is FINISHED as far as I am concerned.
See/listen to song below. I have it on a DVD of a live concert where Sting gives credit to Johnny Cash for the song. . Excellent and so apropos to Baldwin. The Trump Mocker Deluxe.
I Hung My Head
Happy and Blessed Sunday All!
Forget Baldwin is a hothead and liberal for a moment.
Here’s a producer/actor who provided unsafe working conditions, did nothing about it and ultimately resulted in his killing an employee and injuring another.
If this were in a factory or warehouse with unsafe conditions and death as a result, all would agree it’s both ownership and employee who are at fault.
Baldwin is both.
How in this world could anyone picking up a gun NOT check the chamber to see if it was loaded? This is a cardinal rule/principle of firearm safety. Yes! It applies to Alec Baldwin too! See what happens when rules are not followed? May God console the family of the deceased and heal the wounded director.
SO hey, was there someone on that movie set that was getting ready to talk about something they shouldn’t be talking about?
Or are there other reasons a live round would be in a prop gun?
Hey, this guy didn’t do anything. He is an actor and that is his job. That whole set was a stage set, and gun or no gun that is not to be a live round. The woman, Hannah, 23 year old or not, her job was to to secure those weapons. She did not. Let the New Mexican police go through this and you will find out, Baldwin won’t have any responsibility. The girl, and she is a girl, Hannah, will face court charges as she was not qualified. She will end up in jail. Baldwin should speak out as he did. He killed his friend, think about him. Let the police sort it out even if it takes months, they will. You people have never been to Santa Fe. I have many times and know about it. Let the cops do their job.
