Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt released a video statement Thursday targeting the Biden administration’s worker vaccine requirements. In the video, Governor Stitt called the administration’s employer vaccine mandates an action of “federal overreach” and “unconstitutional.”
Supporting the governor, Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor released a statement Thursday calling for employers to disregard the Biden administration’s upcoming vaccine and testing requirement for their employees.
It will be interesting to see how the various state attorneys general establish their standing as the federal requirement targets “individuals“, not specifically state government.

“There are currently no rules that require employers to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for employees. I urge Oklahoma employers to disregard the Biden Administration’s wishes to the contrary. In the event federal emergency rules are issued that place such an unlawful demand upon employers, our office will be joined by other state Attorneys General across the country to quickly sue and seek an injunction against any implementation or enforcement.
Oklahomans should have the right to make their own personal health decisions for themselves and their families. Employers that are mandating vaccines are unfortunately doing so upon their own initiative. Religious, medical, and personal exemptions should be uniformly approved by those employers at the very least.”

Hopefully the standing is provided by the fact that the federal government does not have an enumerated power to create this mandate and is encroaching on the rights of the states.
On a lighter note, a jury summons to a Texas district court arrived in my mail today. A COVID screening questionnaire was included. It had the usual questions (fever, chills, extreme fatigue, etc.) but not one word about vaccine status.

Gordon… He stated that he got HIS AG (that’s right, HE gets to choose our AG, not us) right onto the paperwork to negate the “vaccine” mandate EO “as soon as it came out” some 4 weeks ago, but it’s still “being prepared.” Right. Some might buy that horse shite, but I certainly don’t. If he really WANTED it to be done, it’d be done. No, he doesn’t want to bite the hand that feeds him. In fact, Kill Gates owns a $9 million 492-acre ranch, in a spot called “Irma Lake” nearish Cody. And, coincidentally of course, our Gov. made some sort of agreement w/ the Gates-owned utility company, TerraPower – to build an “advanced” ALMOST ENTIRELY THEORETICAL DESIGN nuclear power plant in Wyoming. Our Gov. apparently also made some “agreement” that our state will be “carbon-neutral” by 2035 or something like that.

Governor Abbott was shouting like this OK gov. They do nothing but scream and issue orders that mean nothing. For example. A company in Texas just forced their employees to take the vaccine or be immediately terminated. They said that the Abbott order does not apply to them since they too, make exceptions for medical and religious purposes. Then they said they would review carefully those exceptions.
Abbott is a two-faced liar. That is why he will not be governor. The people in Texas never liked him and don’t trust him. Now the entire country knows why.

Its not karen, but it is still individual choice, albeit with the individual business owners. Should anyone be stupid enough to do so, they will find themselves mostly staff-less. The market will correct itself.

I live in Oklahoma in a rural area, people are conservative here, we have 4 seasons, we hunt and fish here. Our state is not the highest paying in comparison to some other states, but the cost of living here is low. So, you don’t need to make a six figure income to survive here.

Stay out of OKC , Lawton or Tulsa and youll be OK. I would argue with Terri above tho; there are two seasons – summer and winter. Oklahoma has nice weather…6 days a year. 3 in the spring and 3 in the fall. Otherwise, hotter than hell or colder than a mother-in-laws welcome. Roads are awful and theres a #^&(* casino on every section line. But the cost of living is relatively low and the folk are mostly friendly and conservative.
So where are the rest of the Republicans? There are many hundreds, if not thousands of them at all levels of government but you can count the one’s who are publicly fighting against the mandates on your fingers. Why should I vote for any of these people if they’re not gonna fight for me?
