Every word of this monologue by Neil Oliver is so true. I hope you will watch and stay with it, as it gets better as it gets deeper and more resolute.
For well over a year, CTH has been outlining the critical importance of fellowship. The importance of the human connection that seems to have been purposefully torn apart. I agree with Mr. Oliver in many points including that the lock-downs were purposefully orchestrated in order to make people feel isolated and alone. When people are isolated, they become fearful. Those who hold power tenuously need fear in order to keep control.
Mr. Neil Oliver eloquently explains his position that he will not participate in any system of forced or coerced division. When encountering an institution, business or enterprise that demands vaccinated status as a precondition; we will not participate or lend credibility toward such an abusive fiat by complying with their dictate or demand. Isolation starts with a rebellion against God, and we must be conscious about the human need to be connected.

.
I will not divide my humanity, nor concede my core view of fellowship, simply to comply with the demand of another that I consider my brother or sister of greater or less equity than myself. Any business that chooses that path will not benefit from my economic participation. I choose freedom!
Not only are various governmental agencies forcing the separation of people from their community networks, we are also seeing faith-based organizations, churches, buying into the fear. Even in areas where churches are not forcibly shut down, many are seeing a structural shift where some faith leaders are willingly ostracizing their community under the guise of various COVID alarms. This is not good…. not good at all.
Fellowship is the essential ingredient to a purposeful life. How and why we interact with each other is how and why we recharge our core humanity. To see faith leaders willing to separate from the function of fellowship is alarming. However, as individuals we must not allow this foreboding sense to become the normal expectation.
Throughout history, large armies have been defeated through the process of division. It is not a leap to see the same strategic objectives being deployed against social assemblies including congregations. It is puzzling how many in leadership cannot see the danger in social and spiritual distance when the bond of fellowship is needed more than ever.
Each of us has a different connection to our community. Each of us has a different level of internal strength… such is the nature of living. However, the distance between people is manifestly not a good outcome when combined with the lack of food for the soul.
Ultimately, it is the currency of human connection that is the true value in our lives.
We have each felt how our positive influence upon the lives of others nourishes our own sense of purpose and fulfillment. Do not lose that. Do not think you can compensate for that through other arbitrary measures; you cannot.
With local, state and federal leaders moving beyond the workplace distance; and beyond the community distance; and beyond the church distance; and now entering your home to tell you the importance of separating yourself from your family, we must evaluate these arbitrary decrees very deliberately.
Evaluate very closely what we are willing to give up. Perhaps we are in this position today because we didn’t sit still enough and contemplate the real priorities in our lives.
Our liberty is inherent.
Our freedom is inherent.
The removal of both requires consent.
I choose not to disconnect.
I choose purpose.
I choose my own humanity.

Thirty minute video alleging racketeering on behalf of Trudeau. A good case is made.
How about a link to the pdf he mentions. His instructions are too vague.
Thank you Sundance, I was not familiar with Mr. Oliver, you’ve introduced me to a new friend! I’ve spent veeeery long winter nites with a book and a fire and companionship in 300+ year old rooms in Scotland, it’s nice to hear the brogue again!
This is why I long for the day that Sundance and CTH decide to put on an in-person meetup for all the members of the Treehouse – song, dance, BBQ (of course), tall tales and stories, professions of faith, testimonies, greetings, salutations, hugs, kisses, smiles, heartfelt laughter, jokes good and bad – as another tribe I am close to puts it, “Meatspace, baby, meatspace!”.
Alone in the dark and cold, we are so little. Together in the warmth and heat of fire and love, devotion, surrender, and glee and tears and companionship, we are unbreakable, unstoppable, elemental forces of God and Nature.
I will be there, say when and where. This fellowship is that important.
Is there a venue that large? ?
Do it out doors, in the wind and. rain, as Mr. Oliver might say!
Thought of that and I will be there!
Make the meeting place like a TRUE Scottish Weather…and the weather should freeze “the cockles of ones heart”!!!!
This Monday is shaping up well and I’m on my first cup of coffee and “The Conservative Treehouse” is opened!!!!
WOWZA!!!!!!
Yes, to those that would show.
Typing my hope for mankind is somehow empty, doesn’t bring us together.
I wish no ill will upon any man, as long as he will share my freedom with his.
An adult Woodstock, of sorts. Haha.
I’ll bring my guitar. ☺️
I have the brownies.
Oh I’m in that sounds like fun!
Oh now that would be an event not to be missed. Can you imagine?! Big fun.
Hebrews 10:25 was written for just such a purpose.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together….”
Yes, humans were not meant to live in isolation!
Love that idea!
I needed to hear this confirmation of my position as I’ve been struggling with my having left the fellowship of my now fearful and COVID compliant Bible study group. I simply have refused to participate in any form of COVID theater, for even if that stance risks my health, as it does even with the flu, that risk is tiny compared to the near certain destructiom of Western civilization that will ensue from compliance.
They group has tried to justify the fear by pointing out the ages of those attending but their continued reference to fear porn COVID case stats indicates they are not thinking critically but narrowly and merely accepting of the nareative of government authority. That’s an authority far below that which we ought to heed. That these generally good Christian men cannot see the breadth and depth of what is happening is truly sad.
A circle of people in a Bible study, 6 feet apart and fearfully wearing masks, is too much cognitive dissonance for me.
“… yea, though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for thou art with me.
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table for me before mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
Psalm 23, KJV, Holy Bible

Matthew 10:39
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
My wife and I have been fighting against the idea that listening to a sermon on-line is sufficient to be called fellowship. Also the awful fear that has been ginned up in various congregations. Whatever happened to “Perfect love (Jesus) casts out all fear”
Hubby and I were blessed to find friendship with a couple in their mid 80’s about 5 years ago. We have never passed up an opportunity to help each other and extend kindnesses, large and small. They have become another set of parents to us. The husband was recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer in four organs. Their own children, less than two hours away, do not visit (supposedly) because our friends decided to trust God over government and refuse the shots. So they’ll miss the last months or weeks of their dad’s life to “protect him” (more likely themselves). The fear porn gives people permission not to be responsible for or attend to relationships they didn’t value anyway. It’s insidious, but also enlightening to know who will seize the first opportunity not to have fellowship.
Who decided this couple’s children were vectors of COVID-19 or any contagious disease? The wife, hospice or hospital? There are ways around this. Wringing ones hands is not what are brains are made for. Instead of pointing a finger, figure it out.
Psalm 91. The first ten verses cover the waterfront of anything that can happen to anybody on this side of heaven.
I hear you, but we must never underestimate the power of a casual statement, kindness, cheerfulness, openly smiling while in conversation with a masked & fearful individual. There are so many around us who are overwhelmed with fear, it’s just mind-blowing. While out running errands today, I saw so many wearing masks – even alone outdoors. And friends of ours – conservative in most everything – are only too willing to mask up again. “Oh well, it’s just a little thing”, they say. NO! It’s a huge thing and growing every day! I am trying to maintain my own inner peace and optimism by extending fellowship to those hiding in fear, and I’ve found I feel empowered by this small and perhaps insignificant gesture. And I remind myself often of how fortunate are we to have all found each other, chosen by God, to be the warriors for good!
Yep. You have it correct in how you are trying to reach out.
Eph 4:39
29 Let no unwholesome word proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for building up, that it may give grace to the listeners.
Jude 1: 22 – 23
And have mercy on some, who are doubting;23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.
You are right, these sheep make it worse for the rest of us. Fauci/left adore these people. Their experiment worked out very well for them, they managed to shut the whole country down to kill the economy. They see how the sheep obeyed and really think they can do it again. NYC had a massive anti mandate protest Saturday. They were there in the hundreds. It should be covered here, if not already. Not everyone is sitting home and just whining about mandates.
Have you considered that we are called to be soldiers of Christ as well as family? Soldiers go to war. The church, especially here in Canada, has been weak and anemic as a Christian Army, and has cowered in fear with social distancing, face masks, zoom calls and some pushing these poisonous vaccines. God has TWO natures. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah with Law and Justice, and the Lamb of God nature with Grace and Mercy. God has NOT given us the spirit of fear but of love and power and a sound mind. When Peter drew the sword, at the wrong time, he was admonished to PUT IT BACK! Jesus was portraying the Lamb nature. However, when King David was staying behind at the palace, and being a lamb instead of a lion in war, he started violating the 10 commandments. Right now, the church needs that ROAR of the Lion to say no to lies and fear. You did the right thing. Churches that are promoting these lies are promoting the spirit of Babylon. Have nothing to do with it!!
Thanks for that. Stay strong for us in Canada!
I don’t get your friends at all. How can they be reading the Bible and simultaneously not seeing it in their own lives. Governmental authority like Pontius Pilate and the Sanhedrin?
And on top of that these men are predominantly retired successful businessmen, and far more successful that I. O know of only two out of thirty who get it and/or are willing to speak up.
They must have fear of death, which means they might not really believe in their hearts what they profess to believe with their tongues. Perhaps these Bible studies, going to church, are just cultural acts or habits they have done since childhood, never questioning their paths, never needing God. If they are that successful, they may not have had the opportunity to need God and really feel His grace and power, never surrendering their lives. I know I do not have fear of death. I can’t wait for Jesus to return or call me when my time is up.
The sad thing is in past pandemic it was the Church that kept its doors open and the members that visited the sick at great risk to their own lives.
“He who seeks to save his life will lose it and he who loses his life for My sake will gain it”
The level of fear is astounding (and very, very sad) as it is focused on a highly survivable virus. I think everyone in our church, including the over 75 year olds, has had, and survived Covid. We sing, we shout to the Lord, and we hug, a lot!
God did not make us to live in fear! I’m sorry your prayer group, who should know better, have chosen that path and I’m sorry you are missing out on what should be joyful, Christian fellowship.
I have witnessed this same thing happening in churches and small bible study groups. It’s disconcerting and very sad to me that the community of Christ have allowed themselves to be divided. I can only say, find a like-minded group. If you are brave, you can point out the hypocrisy and give them some facts. But it seems that those who have believed the lie that the vaccines will save them & protect others, aren’t going to back down. It takes a very honest soul to realize the mistake, and turn from it.
I think Christians, in general, often, aren’t following the Bible, but their interpretation of it, which could be wrong. I know one large group that has made it verboten to discuss the vax, ask about the vax, etc. They are working very hard to keep the division out of the group. However, they are following local “mandates”, which in and of itself forces compliance with something the state deems necessary rather than allowing individual choice in the matter. Which, of course, is what the Devil desires – to destroy the church.
This situation attacks the very foundation of the Church – community, fellowship, based on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 10:14 “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.”
.02
“If you are brave, you can point out the hypocrisy and give them some facts.”
After receiving one too many group emails containing COVID fear porn, I responded with a protest against that fear and a description of the larger picture, which includes the left’s destruction of the church. Out of a group of over thirty men I received one reply, from a nonageniarian who agreed with me. As you said, most are so committed to the official narrative they seem unable to think critically.
That’s what I’ve noticed. People in my extended family and friends have gotten the Jab because of peer pressure from their church. These are people I never thought in a million years, with so much information available, would go along. They all had different reasons. A couple of them wanted to make sure they could travel to other countries, like Israel (not realizing that they would be required to take booster after booster, and could fall ill from the Jab itself). Others thought it was their “duty” because they have elderly or very sick relatives (not knowing that the vaxxed have become the super spreaders, not the unvaxxed). Others because the majority of people in the bible study group are elderly and they wanted to protect them. All well intentioned. But, then many cross the line and are adamant about everyone in their sphere being jabbed.
I always research everything before I make a decision, so I realized early on that the Jab was gene therapy, not a true vaccination. I relayed my information to those closest to me and anyone in my family who would listen. I even begged one individual to not do it, but the reasons for doing it were selfless – a very sick relative. I could not convince that person otherwise. I think “the greater good” philosophy has taken hold in America and that’s a scary thought. That was the thinking of the German people – they were self-righteous about exterminating the “vermin”. Many came to know the truth later and were sick and horrified by their own actions. But, it was too late.
I pray a lot.
They have to believe in Government not God to refuse to see the truth.
I guess we all form our assumptions, fair or not. To me, Portland was a goner.
That was before I started listening to the Bible teachings from one of the churches near Portland. They have grown so much during the pandemic that now they have multiple services on Sundays and a couple on Saturdays. They have to do so to be able to accommodate the people who attend in person.
The pastor addressed the shutdowns in his teaching yesterday. They briefly suspended inside worship during the 15 days to flatten the curve. When the liquor stores and marijuana shops were deemed essential businesses, the jig was up and the church was open. There were threats and nasty letters from the state along with the online grief on social media. A lawsuit was part of the mix. The pastor said that he and the elders agreed that God’s clear instruction to congregate held supremacy over any mandate to disperse that Kate Brown or the health department could issue.
The staff at that church of course knows about the deaths among their members. The pastors preach the funeral services. There have been about 6 deaths during the pandemic. One was from WuFlu. The deceased caught the virus elsewhere.
I have been unfair toward Portland.
That’s fantastic, Sherri, I have to go into Portland on too many occasions and loathe each one , it would be good to know a. church in that otherwise Godless city and environs. Could you/would you deign to share the name of the church?
It is this one. I hope you do get to visit sometime.

Thank you!
Thank you!
I have family there who need a good, sound church.
Remember watching very many happy Trump supporters at CPAC and a reporter noting that Democrat gatherings had nowhere the attendance or spirit. Thought to myself, “Democrats will lose so obviously. What will they do?” Then miraculously COVID appeared, Democrat governors prevented gatherings, and Democrat br0wn sh!rts attacked Americans in Democrat-controlled areas. What a co-inky-dink…
Not to be nit picky, but you should NEVER use the word “equity” where you mean “equality”.
The former is being put into widespread use as a substitute for, and a perverse inversion of, the latter.
Equity implied from each according to their ability and to each according to their need, which results in crime, poverty, and death everywhere and always.
I choked on that too, chewing thru it earlier. Equity, to me, will always refer to my wealth in assets. Equality I will remember fondly as something we used to have under law.
Your point is valid. However, being accustomed to Sundance’s creative use of words, I read “equity” in his sentence as meaning “value” such as the equity in a house or other asset. Although the strict definition of equity does not include relationships, Sundance’s usage as such is artful.
He wrote: “I will not divide my humanity, nor concede my core view of fellowship, simply to comply with the demand of another that I consider my brother or sister of greater or less equity than myself.”
To make my point, I inserted “value” for “equity.”
“. . . . with the demand of another that I consider my brother or sister of greater or less value than myself.”
Are You Ready and Willing to Be Free Again?
“The modern West’s sudden and near universal acceptance of “lockdowns” — a novel concept of government-enforced house arrest — signifies a far-reaching and sinister shift away from bedrock democratic values. When fear was injected into the atmosphere by the media, the West was a sitting duck, ready to accept any lifeline offered by any politician — even the communist dictator — in a stunning reversal of our nation’s founding principles.
“Give me liberty or give me death” was our original rallying cry. Oppressed by British rule, Americans rebelled. They fought for independence, for the right to live their own lives in their own way. This passion for liberty created the most successful republic in history, a nation to be proud of — a beacon of hope and prosperity for people of all nations.
Today’s Americans behave in a diametrically opposed manner, trusting the government with blind allegiance and giving it full and total control over their wellbeing. Even personal health decisions like whether or not to receive a quickly-developed vaccination are entrusted to politicians to mandate. Any neighbor who disagrees is marginalized and rejected: “She’s an antivaxxer; she must be an ignorant Trump supporter.”
https://brownstone.org/articles/are-you-ready-and-willing-to-be-free-again/
Yes, there are those with whom we do not want fellowship, at least at present. Sam Adams had the same problem and saw it this way:
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.: – Samuel Adams
Fear will only go so far … anger has grown at the repressive measures, especially when we see the “ruling elite” going maskless and enjoying life in ways they want to deny to others.
It’s gotten too late when even in New York City, the crowds assemble to chant “F*ck Joe Biden.” There aren’t enough distractions to put a damper on the anger percolating up all over.
Clearly, America did not transform (evolve) the Biden Junta, but the Biden Junta is transforming (devolving) America.
Thus the question becomes – can anyone stop the train called America before the Biden Junta runs it off the cliff into the abyss?
To further mix metaphors, I fear that there is no sheet metal left to hold the bondo and paint together… bumpy road ahead! It will be incumbent upon the survivors to salvage the wreckage, and buikl anew with the bits and pieces left, and the original plan in mind.
In the impractical art of getting its election integrity act together, America must be prepared to get its election integrity act together at any time in the future. In the practical art of its getting its election integrity act together, America should have gotten its election integrity act together quite some time ago, and it’s probably already too late. We’re scroomed.
– Sun Tzu’s Great Nephew, Moon Yoo Tzu
I, for one, fail to call the nation gone.
I was born here, love my country and find it worth fighting for.
Our first fight is to stop the killing of Americans – vaccinations.
We must continue to fight for election integrity.
Giving up and declaring the battle lost is not the solution.

Sundance, thanks for this video! We are fortunate to have family members in the area and we never stopped getting together on holidays and birthdays from the beginning of this fauxdemic Some of our family got the vaccine to “get back to normal” but most haven’t. We respect each other’s decisions. I just wish our governor and our federal government would do the same.
I have an idea. Everyone just ignore everything the Goobermint does. Don’t pay more taxes, don’t wear any face diapers, don’t do business with anyone who complies with the Goobermint. Just say no to all of this ass backwards nonsense. If it doesn’t make sense, just don’t do it. If you get asked why, just say it didn’t make any sense, so you thought you heard it wrong.
I am no longer going to do anything that makes no sense to me and I won’t be made to do it without a fight to the death about it. I am a free man and I will be a free man until I die. I am just tired of all of this mindless bullshit.
“F**k Biden!” Bring out your next President. I don’t care. “F**k Harris!” “F**k Obama. Same answer from me. I do not follow people I do not respect.
My husband and I aren’t going to make it. He’s vaxed and not approving of my choice to not get the vax. I have found a church that sounds nice (from a mom at my kids soccer practice) and will be going to seek fellowship, the lords wisdom and support. I feel hopeless- but I’m not helpless. Keep us all in your prayers ?
To God, for you and yours
Thank you ?
Good one ?
Romans 14 applies here. Your husband should accept your clear conscience before God on your decision and you should do the same. The jab is not a cardinal doctrine of the faith. It is a peripheral that we never should fight over. My wife and I will add you to our prayers.
Will do! I know it’s tough when your spouse doesn’t understand.
Many prayers!
It sounds like things might get really hard for you if vaccines for kids are approved/mandated. Is there someone that both of you respect/trust who can mediate?
You are in my prayers ~ ?
Heads up, Treepers. Especially those of you who live on the East Coast in the U. S.
I know, I know, this is way off topic. But it looks like the Canary Islands (Cumbre Vieja) volcano just erupted. Earthquake swarms have been recorded there over the past weeks and there were predictions of magma rising towards the earth’s surface which might cause an eruption. Let’s hope the volcanic eruption doesn’t trigger a massive landslide that could plow into the ocean.
Yeah, it would be a darn shame if that tsunami ended up at a certain shoreline estate in The Hamptons wouldn’t it?
Or Martha’s Vineyard…
“Love God and do as you please.” Augustine
He states very nicely states the exact mindset of ” John The Savage ” from Brave New World.
Wanting to be out in the world with like minded Free people , rather than inside the Grand Inquisitor run perfect ” utopia ” with strict social controls.
This is the most important aspect of what directs me. A very good find Sundance and thanks you!
Next year in COVID history?
(Sorry if this is a duplicate)
If SNL was worth a penny, they’d be doing this. I have fond memories of (very long ago) SNL. Now, they remind me of the one time I got to sit at the “cool kids table” in High School, when they made fun of everyone “beneath them” and I decided never to sit with them again. Very judgmental of me. Glad I did it.
Very insightful and humble “talk”. What is already happening, everywhere, is people are intent on building “parallel societies”. This can only happen, initially, on the local scale. Communities are banding together, as it should be, to create self-sufficient communities. So much “greener” than the “green new deal”.
I have taken up camping. 3 trips to the Caribbean, buys a brand new RV, being a carpenter I have a truck to pull it. I bought my first fishing license in 20 years. We have a core group, then 1 of our group has a huge group, mostly first responders, we’re meeting this week on a lakeside. I can’t wait.
We started going last fall. I’m good with fixing things and such, but RV camping is an art and just about every place we go, is new to us. If I get lost or something breaks, folks I’ve never met, are standing in line to help me. There is nothing like having a 10 year old, show me his fishing spot. Kids are everywhere, without a phone in their face, but on a bike or a scooter, exploring ,in a safe place filled with nature and good people.
This might be the not be the answer for everyone, but God is always with me where ever I roam.
I don’t need a building to share my faith, we gravitate to one another, now more than ever. We see each other’s smile and shake hands or hug, without fear, only catching a fish, or a funny story.
I just love this video clip of Neil Oliver. He’s absolutely correct! Brought tears to my eyes.
Thanks for posting Sundance.
It’s a very uplifting way to start a Monday..
As they come through your door, you don’t get to choose or discern who the ‘good ones’ are. As they stand with those that are pepper spraying you on the streets of Melbourne or NYC (“Only doing his job”), he’s the enemy. If his union can stand up to the vaccine mandate, it can stand up to corrupt leadership and violence against peaceful protest.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?
Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?…
The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…
We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
— Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn The Gulag Archipelago
Thank you for posting this! I watched the whole segment and it was uplifting.
And don’t tell the feds about it by posting about it on social media!
If the politics were removed, one could acknowledge “herd immunity” included those who have natural immunity.
But some how we cannot and our public health officials refuse to answer for it?
Where’s the media?
Wonderful post, thank you.
What Oliver said about quietly resisting resonated with me, because that is what I’m doing. Thank God my church is mostly mask free, and people are hugging and kissing as always. In my organized Bible study a few wear masks but most don’t.
It’s very sad that so many people are living in fear, but bowing to irrational fears is just wrong, and I won’t do it. Thus far no one has accosted me.
So, here’s the deal.
It looks like I will lose my job in Nov 22 because the owners of the occupant in the White House are quadrupling down on their mandate. The local management came out with their own mandate on Wednesday and on Friday (*) they clarified it saying that it includes telecommuters and fully remote employees. Not getting the shot(s) will be a disciplinary issue. (**)
Now, I have no real qualms on getting the J&J shot. My wife took it months ago.
But, it’s something I should/will/might do on my own terms. It’s nobody’s business except my doctor, my wife and I. This is exactly how my wife is handling it… she did not disclose it to her employer.
So, what to do?
I should likely take the single shot as it does seem to lessen the symptoms if I come down sick. But, there is no way in hell that I will trade this shot for my job.
Honestly, we should all go on strike. If only 10% of the workforce at my employer quit, heck, if only 5% of the R&D quits, the management is hosed. I think they are panicking, hence the mandate on everybody and the threat of ‘for cause’ firing.
You know, I’m not gonna pat myself in the back, but my skill set is hard to match. They are not gonna find many like me around. The same for the people I work with. And not just here, but in just about every R&D group I’ve ever worked in. Where will China get their R&D from?
And not just in R&D. In every company, every enterprise there are many, most?, employees that have specific skills, that understand the company’s mindset, that are crucial for the operation of the business. If enough of them quit then the business can not operate. It’s as simple as that: there is a critical number below which an enterprise -at any level- can not operate. They simply go out of business.
Now, in my own neck of the woods, ff 5% of the R&D workforce quits or retires (***) you can kiss a lot of things goodbye for a while. You’re just not going to have the manpower to get it done, and if the senior folks retire en masse, well, I suppose we’ll have much nicer gardens all over America, gardens that will be privy to much IP and Science that otherwise should be in a lab somewhere.
Now, I also wonder about states like Texas, Florida and Alabama. NASA is big in California, but much larger in those states. If we’re seeing such push back out West, what must they be seeing in the East?
(*) I figured that a lot of employees asked about this since we’ve been working 100% remote for almost two years now. So management had to put their foot down. As usual, they won’t announce what percentage of the work forced asked, but their last tally three months ago showed that 25% of the workforced had not been vaccinated.
(**) This is a blatant threat, because you can’t collect unemployment if you get fired for cause. I doubt it will stand in court but it will still cause grief. An act of panicked, malevolent bastards for sure. Also, if people don’t collect unemployment, then they are not reflected in the unemployment numbers, huh? So this might artificially keep the numbers lower.
(***) By R&D I don’t mean those “tech social media” companies. Writing application layer Python scripts is trivial, it’s not “tech”.
You are in a very tough position.
I am angry that the govt and your employer have placed this on you. It should be
none of their business- ever.
Can you get an exemption (medical or religious)?
Pray on it.
I’d also look at some of the websites like Frontline Doctors, Shawn Baker MD (Youtube), etc who may have some ideas &/or paperwork on exemptions.
I’m in a situation where I could retire if I wanted and my wife has excellent health coverage. Thank God both kids are grown up, out of college and on their own. And our mortgage is ridiculously low.
Our 401Ks are also in very good shape and we have seven figures there and in our home’s equity. So, we’re not hurting.
The only thing I was (am) working for is my son’s house down payment. But I feel real bad for the folks with kids and real expenses. This is EXTORTION.
I got a doctor’s annual checkup next week. We’ll see. As I pointed out, I will likely that the J&J shot, but I will not disclose it. F^(*& them.
I also put up my resume ready to spring into action… it might be next week, we’ll see.
It’s a common misconception that the J & J injection is somehow “safer.” It isn’t. J & J is mRNA technology, just a different delivery method. It turns your body into a pathogenic spike protein factory.
Don’t take any of these vaccines if you value your health.
Brave Mr. Oliver better watch his back. They will coming for him in a friendly manner to infect him with a deadly dose of the man made Wuhan flu. How many conservative talk pundits who were anti vax are now dead? No democrats have EVER had Wuhan flu. No republicans remark on that. That is amazing that they say nothing! Just republicans and conservatives get horribly ill and/or die. President Trump even got it. But none of you say anything. It is glaring that dems are not included in this fear of Wuhan for themselves, they just promote it to scare numb minded cowards in Congress. I doubt they even got vaxed. They probably got a preventive antitdote a year ago. How can this be so glaringly obvious yet no one capitilizes on it. No, the numb cons yap about AOC’s stupid dress. They are still talking about it today. Wow…that’s going to do it, that’ll win the war. Mocking an air head that cries out for attention and these stupid pundit con boys are so obsessed with her they give it to her. Dear Mr. Oliver, fellowship is important but be very careful whom you trust.
Man was made to live happy lives, without fear or chains or masters. Mr. Oliver’s commentary describes my feelings and I’m sure the feelings of many others. He should be interviewed on public television which has a large audience.
Today has been an odd day for me, but it seems every day for the last 1 1/2 years has its own set of oddities.
Lately I’ve been volunteering my labor/work ethic to small companies that can’t hire enough people to stay open. The regular hires prefer to stay on the government teet, and since I’m retired and have free time, can go help others for free. It’s a win/win for them, since they have help and don’t have to pay that help.
I suggest to any of you reading this who are retired or have free time, find a small business you relate to, one that masks or not to your liking, and see how they’re doing. Your volunteer work time may make the world of difference to whether that business stays open or not, and your service to another human being in quiet distress may be worth more than gold.
Saturday I helped an mom and pop event center with a wedding. “Mom” asked me how she was going to pay me under the table, and I realized she didn’t understand my offer of working for free meant working for free. I was super happy to take home a few left-over slices of her homemade lasagna, though!
Wednesday I’ll be back bussing dirty dishes, replacing water pitchers, delivering food, etc., for a funeral, for free.
I volunteer for an estate sale business, too, doing lots of grubby jobs, and the owners are very grateful for the help.
Last Wednesday I attended a meeting with our crazy socialist school superintendent, and he lied to everyone in the room about masking children — which he and the school board decided to do the following day, saying elementary age students needed to start wearing masks today.
So last night we had a meeting and a lot of angry parents came. The superintendent came, too, and lied, lied, lied. So today a lot of parents took their children out of school, and brought them to a temporary school at a local church until something more permanent is in place.
Today I learned our county sheriff IS NOT A CONSTITUTIONAL SHERIFF, and that was an horrific thing for me to hear. He was asked directly, and he directly answered. So in socialist northern Minnesota even the sheriff is a socialist. Makes me feel all warm and comfy. . . staying far away from him.
Early this morning I saw the story about how a group of parents had their children’s masks tested after being worn one school day, and how a lab found very bad “stuff” on those masks. I forwarded the information onto all the parents I knew, and soon heard back from one mom who lives a couple hundred miles away. She said they’d just pulled their kindergartener out of a private school after two weeks, since the school was requiring all students to not only wear masks, but to get the poison injection, too.
A kindergarten aged child.
So they are now homeschooling, but they also asked for prayers since the wife’s job requires she get the poison injection or lose her job — and she is the main breadwinner with a large medical company.
Another mom wrote and wanted to know how to find good Christian accredited online schools for her children; I heard terror and sadness in both of these very sweet mom’s voices.
Of all the things I run after in this absolutely absurd bizzaro world to try and “fix” it, I believe today the Lord showed me that my first “outside” priority is helping mothers with children still at home.
There is a lot each of us can do — no matter our age or income — and there is way too much that needs to be done. But for the health and well being of others, our country and our world, the “importance of fellowship” says it all.
Is a good man with a large heart and mind, reminds me of my youth when being together brought us together.
