A Florida appeals court has ruled that Governor Ron DeSantis’ pro-choice school mask policy will be reinstated, and put a stay against a previous activist judge who attempted to block the executive order. This is a freedom win for parents in Florida who will now have the option of having their kids wear masks or not depending on their individual choice.
FLORIDA – Gov. Ron DeSantis and his administration won approval on Friday to put a hold on a Leon County judge’s ruling that said the state could not enforce a ban on strict mask mandates in schools.
The 1st District Court of Appeal agreed to a state request to reinstate a stay on Judge John Cooper’s ruling amid objections from a group of parents who said the move could cause “irreparable harm” to their children amid a rise of COVID-19 cases. The decision means the state can continue to punish school officials who impose mask mandates without a parent opt-out. (read more)

Governor DeSantis is my governor and I personally have steered several recently infected people to his new immunotherapy monoclonal antibody clinics in FL and they all found relief within 48 hours.
That’s the way forward: get sick take the therapeutics depending on how sick someone is. For me, I took the vaccine. Have had no issues. Have not had Covid. The vaccine does not prevent Covid infection but it does offer protection for some people.

I think he was misled about how effective the vaccine would be. In theory, it makes sense to vaccinate the elderly and vulnerable, if the vaccine is good, and that’s likely what he was led to believe would happen. I seriously doubt he foresaw the side effects, mandates, and less than promised effectiveness. Pence did not serve him well at all with regard to the virus task force.

When the state punishes school officials (withholds money) and the Feds provide that money, we’re back to square one. What actually will occur on the ground?

Thinking ahead was what got DeSantis trashed by many on this website when he signed the bill which claimed the exclusive right to mandate masks/vax/ etc. to the State of Florida. The DOJ can sue but it will not be about masks, it will be a 10th amendment issue on authority clearly not delegated to the Feds since it came before any mandates.
No one really cares about the $ withheld or replaced. What scares the crap out of school districts about this ruling is that the parents of any child sent home without a mask can sue the district and win and they cannot afford a flood of lawsuits.

My spouse was hospitalized last month. They told him that made him ineligible for the infusion because you are considered more critical if you are admitted. This was before all of the infusion centers were made available.

President Trump appeared oblivious to the immense forces arrayed against him. Indeed, he appears so now. Could Trump have functioned if he had known the bureaucracy around him was willfully disregarding his orders? Could he have persevered if he had doubted the commitment of his bodyguards to his safety?
But will DeSantis, with young children, be able to soldier on? He must be receiving threats. Our Supreme Court appears to have been broken in spirit (Kavanaugh, Coney Barrett) by the Antifa mob.
At some point the organs of official government will have to be bypassed. At some point the conservative forces will absolutely have to produce their own version of Antifa. The violent mobs on the front lawns of Tucker Carlson or Mitch McConnell can only be countered by a corresponding aggressive force, in this environment. Waiting for Democrats in government to dispatch government law enforcement agencies to provide protection and security is the height of folly.
Our fate may ultimately be decided by the emergence of a secret police or security force that can protect our Republican leaders, or not. Sadly, such a figurehead will prove to be the power behind the throne.

The email was about the covid vaccines, not at all vaccines in general, did you read that in the email? He says they are brilliant and he got it himself. I think they are bad news. There is a difference between vaccine and THE vaccine.

Something to think about: If J&J made a new pain med, safety regulations were relaxed, steps skipped to bring it to market in warp speed and it was OPTIONAL for people to take. People got sick, some disabled and some died. Would that be ok just because no one mandated they take it? Is it now ok to promote potentially unsafe drugs? Not in my world it isn’t. I want every person responsible for eliminating safety measures held accountable. Instead we’ve given them protection.

I called Ohio state AG office today, asking what the heck is going on basically. So, I said 17 state governors have spoken up and are filing or threatening to sue against the vaccine mandates that Biden is trying to impose.

I’m tired of looking at other states taking action and Ohio doing nothing, this is unconstitutional. I did call my state senator and they called me back about it, seemed a little receptive, said he is against the mandate but I asked what action is being done because all these other states are going to file suit. Called my state rep and as usual, her office doesn’t even answer the phone.

Targeting freedom of choice in schools is big. Airports need to be next. Airports and schools are really the two main ways the average person ever needs to interact with “the Federal government” outside of submitting tax forms.
So how do you do to local airports what you’re doing to the schools?
I bet there’s a way to do this that would punch the Feds and the Airlines in the nose and draw a lot of blood.
