According to numerous media reports the Minnesota jury has reached a verdict in the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin. Fourteen days of trial and approximately 9 hours of jury deliberation (last night and this morning). The verdict will be announced momentarily….

I was watching Spectrum News for the verdict when the talking head referred to George Floyd’s brother Philonese Floyd as”Felonious Floyd.”

The others are not yet on trial. I have heard no mention of?? the personal connection between Floyd and Chauvin from the Cantina they both worked at the same time.
Why does it take so long to read the verdict. If Chauvin is there already, the jury is there then what is the hold up?
They had to clear the courthouse, and basically close it up except for this courtroom. The judge had to notify attorneys for both sides to come in, bring in Chauvin, and then bring in the jury. There may be some outdoor security that had to be put in place, too.
Just a few days before I left my “diverse” neighborhood (about ten moths ago) in east bay SF, BLM went through my neighborhood slashing, burning and smashing all the white peoples vehicles – my tires were slashed – I now live in a non diverse, rural town where EVERYBODY carries, many openly. Chauvin will spend years in prison as the appeals drag on. He has good grounds, from the pre-trial publicity to the refusal to change venue to the multi-million dollar settlement with Floyd’s family to evidentiary rulings to some outrageous statements by the prosecution in its closing rebuttal.
But I would doubt a Minnesota appellate court would set this aside. Those judges have to run for re-election. Chauvin can go on to federal court after he’s exhausted his state appeals.
Refusing to change venue, killed the chances of an unbiased jury pool. The jurors have to live in that community.
They didn’t even go for 2nd degree Manslaughter, with no intent to kill. Which tells me their minds were already made up. prior to hearing any evidence.
Charged with:
1) Being white.

Their expert witnesses created layers of reasonable doubt. let along the rest of the evidence of reasonable doubt.

I half expected guilty on the manslaughter charge…. doing something that you can reasonably expect could lead to death, even if you don’t intend it. Although even THAT is debatable, I still kinda thought they’d find him guilty on that. But murder? NO! If you read the statute, there’s no way the facts fit in this case. This looks a LOT like the jurors doing whatever they thought would be the least likely to bring about riots. Sick.
I thought they’d go for manslaughter as a compromise verdict, too. But it takes time to work out a compromise, and they apparently didn’t dare.
Watch for Oprah interviews, the MSM “reunions” between Floyd’s family and jurors, not to mention book deals (the OJ Simpson forewoman wrote one), etc., for these “heroes.”
After watching the trial I kinda thought manslaughter too.

Back off, that’s what. Through the MN court system (Court of Appeals and Supreme Court), then on to federal court. Eventually the Supremes.
First Chauvin’s lawyer will file post-trial motions, saying there was reversible error in the trial. Rare for a trial judge to grant that, especially since Chauvin’s lawyer asked for a mistrial along the way. After ruling on post-trial motions, on to appellate courts.
I have no confidence in any higher court, especially the SC.
Reminder, this was all Democrats involved, the cops, the COP, the mayor, the governor, the victim, everybody involved was a democrat. There wasn’t a Republican to be seen anywhere near this mess. Was Chauvin a racist? Well, he was a Democrat, so ……
