Obviously, the contrast between how media covered the BLM and “resistance” riots in Washington DC for the past 4 years, as compared to today, is quite remarkable. Today the hundreds of thousands of protestors in DC are being outlined as domestic terrorists; and the DC mayor has initiated a curfew.
As people have become increasingly frustrated with how politicians and bureaucrats have disconnected themselves from the voices of the American electorate there was likely to be a confrontation. That overwhelming anger has surfaced in these events today.
It is also widely reported that agents provocateur associated with Antifa and BlackBloc infiltrated the crowd to stir up trouble and create the impression of violent Trump supporters. A false flag operation with intent to cloud/marginalize protestors.
The American people are suffering through more than just brutal evidence of election fraud and the manipulation of mail-in ballots; we are also dealing with local and state officials who have used COVID-19 mitigation as a weapon to eliminate the livelihoods of the middle-class.
The combination of these events creates a “nothing to lose” mindset, and no-one is addressing the underlying issue. What we are witnessing is the result of years of pent-up frustration carried by massive numbers of Americans toward the disconnected elitist class in Washington DC. None of this should come as a surprise; yet DC will stand jaw agape.

I saw on Steve Bannon’s show that Maggie claimed that as Trump’s speech was wrapping up the attendees heard about the letter and then got very angry. A lot of people were leaving to warm up until they heard about the letter that dropped at 1 pm. Then they marched to the Capitol Building. I don’t think Capitol police expected what happened today. Normally, people are calm and protest peacefully. We are living in trying times – through a Pandemic and people who are losing livelihoods due to closures and job losses. People are under a lot of stress.
Without law and order what you eventually get is the Lord of the Flies. We aren’t there yet, but today was a reminder of just how tenuous civilization is. The Republicans need to come to Jesus and start enforcing the law.
Oh, they’re going to “enforce the law” all right…but not in a way that Trump/MAGA voters are going to like.

The wife and I just got back from the capitol, and frankly, I don’t think there were any “agitators”, or at least if there were, they weren’t the cause of the attack on the capitol building. It did seem to coincide with the Pence letter. And people were angry. Extremely angry. There were even people in wheel chairs pressing in on the hill in front of the capitol building. This wasn’t just some small group of “punks”. Regular looking people were cheering it on and demanding to break in the building before it actually happened.
If I had to guess, it was probably a group like the Proudboys that might have been the “muscle” at the front of the mass swarming up the hill, but I didn’t see too many people against doing so. I think it was just an “anger of the crowd” type of situation.
I believe this.
Trump needs to be very careful with his pleas for peace and going home. After all the People didn’t leave their busy lives en masse just to jump through the hoops of a one-day media event.

However, there was never any doubt in my mind – even before Pence’s letter – that the Republican Party had decided to torpedo Trump a long, long, time ago. Even without the Capitol being occupied, they would have ignored the evidence and voted for Biden by wide margins.
So, it’s a bit of “too smart by half” to think it was about preventing the debate. They were always gonna vote for Biden.

Heard about 30 secomds of GA Kemp comments on DC. If not before, we are now in a 3rd world banana republic. Prepare accordingly. Totally divorce yourself from ever again going to a city of any size and population. This is going to get really nasty. Harsh lockdowns in cities need to happen. I feel for small business and what is/will happen to them, but these city folks need to be locked in the 600 sf apartments for a long long time and not able to go to their favorite hangouts and bars. Starbucks locked down would be awesome. Most conservatives could take it or leave it on going to a bar.
As for lockdown, I am fortunate in that I have access to acreage behind the house I can wander in, a tractor to ride and plant a garden. Pretty good away from prying eyes……yes for now. But my ultimate goal is to somehow outlast the stupid city folks who brought this on. If I outlast them by 5 mins, I will be happy.
I think today is a perfectly good reason for the GA Legislature to go into special session and rescind Kemp’s illegal “certification”. They won’t. But they should.
