Five days ago an American was kidnapped in Niger and taken to the neighboring country of Nigeria. Today U.S. special forces carried out a daring operation and successfully rescued him. Philip Walton, 27, was recovered by SEAL Team Six.
According to the Pentagon, the mission was undertaken by the elite commandos as part of a rescue operation before his abductors could get far after taking him captive in Niger on Oct. 26.
(Pentagon) Statement by Jonathan Hoffman, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs:
“U.S. forces conducted a hostage rescue operation during the early hours of 31 October in Northern Nigeria to recover an American citizen held hostage by a group of armed men. This American citizen is safe and is now in the care of the U.S. Department of State. No U.S military personnel were injured during the operation.
We appreciate the support of our international partners in conducting this operation.
The United States will continue to protect our people and our interests anywhere in the world.” (link)
We killed “all but one“… We can only imagine what keeping that one alive was for.
According to ABC News: “[…] Then the elite SEAL Team Six carried out a “precision” hostage rescue mission and killed all but one of the seven captors, according to officials with direct knowledge about the operation.”
“They were all dead before they knew what happened,” another counterterrorism source with knowledge told ABC News.”
White House – Statement From the President On Last Night’s Hostage Rescue
Last night, at my direction, the United States military conducted a successful operation to rescue an American hostage in Nigeria, kidnapped just 96 hours earlier. United States Special Forces executed a daring nighttime operation to rescue their fellow American with exceptional skill, precision, and bravery.
No United States Service Members were harmed. The former hostage is currently in good health and has been reunited with his family.
Securing the freedom of Americans held in captivity abroad has been a top national security priority of my Administration. Since the beginning of my Administration, we have rescued over 55 hostages and detainees in more than 24 countries. Today’s operation should serve as a stark warning to terrorists and criminal thugs who mistakenly believe they can kidnap Americans with impunity.
###
Right now the word is traveling fast thru the terror networks,
“Grab the Brits, leave the Americans”.
“Grab the Brits, leave the Americans”
The “Brits” wrote the book on rescue operations.
Actually, the Israelis did. Ask Netanyahu who lost his older brother at Entebbe. They also learned from the failed GERMAN rescue attempt where all the Black September terrorists were killed along with the Israeli Olympic athletes. They taught Arabs a thing or two about retribution after that one.
Just about all special forces commando training in western countries, including SEAL teams and DELTA was derived from British SAS training. That includes hostage rescue.
SAS was around before there was even such a thing as an “Israeli”.
Israel has been around for over 3500 years, where was Britain back then?
Israel ceased robustness a country circa 70AD. Diaspora?
After WW2 Jews began to flee into the area known at the time as the British Mandate For Palestine and, skipping some history, from circa 70AD through 1948 there was no Israel.
dcnnc, with all due respect to the SAS, the Israelis just swiped nuclear data from the Iranians right out from under their noses. Iranian never knew they were there.
Yawn!!
Perhaps correct, but the British learned hard lessons during WWII and took those lessons to heart.
American Airborne, Commandos and Rangers learned from the British Commandos.
The last couple of decades it seems the British government is more into appeasement rather than corrective responses. Especially at home.
Nor are the British military finding well trained natural marksman in their recruits.
The most elite of the WW II US Army units was the joint US-Canadian First Special Service Force, better known as “The Devils Brigade”. It is in the linage of the modern US Army Special Forces.
And yes, the SAS set the standards and methods by which the modern US Special Forces were initially trained and for assessment of individuals for such service.
The SEALS on the other hand take their linage from the UDT teams initially set up for beach and landing recon/assessment/obstacle and mine clearing, after the hard lessons the Marines learned assaulting the beaches of Betio island at Tarawa atoll.
Nowdays with with all of the elite units coming under the Joint Special Operations Command there is much more sharing of operational methods/techniques and in some types of training, between the various branches of service for the US special operations units.
As for the FFLSO? I never had direct contact with them in my decade as an SF soldier but I did train Lebanese troops that had received training from them. I was not impressed. That, however does not mean that as a unit the FFLSO is substandard and in fact, based on what I have heard, they are quite good at direct action type missions.
How could they not be with a heritage like this:
Actually, Britain in WWII learned from the Canadian and American experience in WWI. I’m talking about the American volunteers who joined the Canadian army.
The Germans did not want to go against the Canadians. General Currie et al taught Germany, France & Britain how to bring the fight… indirect fire, trench raids, armed reconnaissance.
The Brits are all about self promotion… talk about Monty. If Gott wasn’t killed on his way to the 8th army, Monty would never had the opportunity to become promoted as a British hero. That hero would have been Gott. American logistics gave the British the chance to win in the desert.
PAST glory days of Britain. Unless the people step up you’ll only be learning attack tactics of islam in GB.
You are 100% correct. When training for Spec Ops in the US Military, SAS is given full credit for their training, selection, mission preparation and history of the small team insertion methods they first designed and carried out.
I was stationed in Germany at that time and there were NO two ways to look at the situation. Went on High Alert and then was on Mobile Security Team ANYWHERE IN EUROPE…Bader-Meinhoff, Black September and PLO came on the scene at that time…ONE hell of a mess…
Reason why I went into Reserves and put on Combat Rescue.
Tough job. Thanks!
Wiesbaden Det 1 CCT.
Frankfurt…1972-1975
little guy at the time.
but i remember vividly the 9 days when my dad didnt come back home.
but when he did…all he would say.
it’s done.
God Bless America
God Bless the warriors that protect all of us… even and especially when it just isn’t possible to.discuss it…or know about it.
All due credit, but I am sure the practice and operational temp of US forces has honed the craft some.
tempo
Yes, and when their hands are untied and the rules of engagement lessened from don’t shoot until fired upon and don’t shoot if there are human shields to kill the enemy. Then things change considerably.
Currently…no other country is even close to the capabilities of the US military in ANY battlespace.
Better funding, equipment, personnel, training, and we’ve been at war for 19 years.
Napoleon used to be the shizzle.
Jeremy Clarkson’s Greatest Raid of all is a must see. St Nazaire, 1942. His documentary about the Battle of Arnhem, part of a series about Victoria Cross is also worth watching.
And by the way, about 10 of my late mother’s family members were killed during WWII when Allied aircraft bombed Enschede, a Dutch border town in the east of Holland by accident. I would still like to know who were responsible, the Brits or the Americans…
The SOS of GB was the grandfather of elite service branches around the world. Any would-be kidnapper would be wise to choose Canada or France over the US or GB.
I’m surprised that the French haven’t been targeted more often. They seem to have changed their attitude toward islam and terrorism lately.
The French have the Legion, who have a special forces detachment as well.
Now they really are hard men.
The French have special laws and courts regarding terrorism and terrorists.
As nessimmersion points out, the Legion’s Special Forces are well trained hard men, very hard men and they leave few terrorist survivors.
Those terrorists that do survive are often condemned to death anyway by the courts.
Canada may seem tender and humane on the front. If the Canadians send their well trained special forces after someone, they’re not known for soft responses and mercy either.
Prior to President Trump, Americans were the choicest targets. Even if they only got the American’s possessions it was still rich pickings for poor terrorists.
President Trump changed that.
96 hours! Seal team 6, received that mission, planned and executed it with full support by the President within 96 hours, four days.
Incredible!
One survivor destined for GITMO or worse. That whole affair sends a stark message to wannabe kidnappers and terrorists.
Gotta leave one to tell the tale.
TAKE one, to tell US his tales.
EXACTLY Maquis
Pershing’s Rule?
Much like Patton’s when he went searching a ranch for Pancho Villa’s lieutenants.
Patton brought the bodies back to camp on the hood of his car.
Six of them were lucky.
We have a cure, Trumpgeneron.
Biden will claim that’s what he meant by trunalimunumaprzure. LOL
This shows how it should be done. Get in, git ‘er done, get out. Don’t wait months and plead for a return, don’t go around flashing hashtags on twitter. Just say to the professionals “Git ‘er done, now.”
And SEAL Team Six, you just don’t get much more pro than that!
Amazing what a difference an AMERICAN Commander in Chief makes!
The success of this mission explains why Joe was yelling today about Trump’s “cowardice” and that the US is not respected overseas, while he – Joe The Tough Guy – has been in 35 war zones and is endorsed by a passel of retired 4-stars. He brought out the discredited yarn that Putin put a price on US soldiers heads and claimed Trump didn’t do anything.
No micromanagement from the s h i tbirds in the WH Situation Room; just guys, “you’re the best, get it done.”
calbear, I would amend your statement to say “an AMERICAN CIC ‘with balls’,”…
LOVE this comment, calbear!!
Since the 1960s Democrats always get involved as if the military is unable to do the job without their direct supervision.
And their fallen comrades during the B HUSSEIN O era need to be honored by some prosecutions in the (hopefully) 2nd term.
their fallen comrades WILL be vindicated if we get a 2nd term.
jkash, let’s pray that that happens.
I am not sure why PT mentioned the team. I would not have.
Remember, Joe got their brethren killed.
Reread the post, President Trump did not mention the names.
ABC published the name as learned from their “sources.”
Makes you wonder if there is 55 hostages during the Trump presidency how many during other administrations did they just let rot.
A good number of these 55 were indeed languishing during the O’Biden MalAdministration.
Let’s not forget Bowe Bergdahl. He languished just long enough to give the Taliban everything he knew about US, then became a 5 million dollar photo op for 0bama.
You forgot the part where Obambi actually traded them 5 of their top people for that traitorous coward.
From Gitmo to the battlefield again…………….TRAITOR.
Oh yeah. They were released into terrorist sponsoring nation’s on their own recognizance. And dynamic they get caught again?
Don’t count the thousands of US soldiers imprisoned by the Soviets after WWII and left to rot in the Gulag. For decades afterwards, our intrepid State Department never missed an opportunity to remain silent failing when facing the Soviets. They have never been acknowledged by the US. The only reason we know about them is due to the Soviet archives being opened after the fall of the USSR.
My point exactly! Vietnam was the same way. If the media doesn’t talk about it then it never happened. We know now our media was always corrupted.
Something about this story smells funny. Who was that guy and why did they want him? That rescue sure came fast.
It seems to be a happy ending and no doubt I wouldn’t want a team of SEALs hunting me …
Adam, In 2019 Niger signed onto China’s One Belt, One Road initiative . China promised to help build a 1300 mile long Oil pipeline and promised riches to the Niger people. As with any country that signs onto the One Belt/One Road, China becomes a usurping power and the people of the country become disenfranchised which leads to higher crime rates.
At this point in time I haven’t got many doubts that this kidnapping was a result of that Chinese disenfranchisement.
Except that reports indicate that NIger was helping the US with information.
Yeah, Niger finally figured out that they made a poor deal…..
July 29, 2020….
Members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives have uncovered clauses in a loan collected by the Nigerian Government from China that concedes the country’s sovereignty to the Asian country.
Chairman of the House Committee on Treaties, Protocol and Agreements, Ossai Nicholas Ossai, raised the alarm while probing loans received by the government
Thanks for the reminder (really).
China has made huge inroads (no pun) into Africa with “investments” in roads, water treatment and other infrastructure but sadly, it appears as just a means to strangle that continent with debt.
It has been said that WW3 will be fought over Africa, so I think any Africa news is worth watching at this point.
Wouldn’t it be GREAT if the BLM crowd volunteered to fight the Chinese to protect the blacks in Africa? /s
A shot across the bow of Xi Jin Ping by VSGPDJT. And a middle finger to Hiden Biden.
Bingo!!!!
adam, he probably owned a considerable amount of acreage for farming, etc., so by Nigerian standards, he was wealthy and they’d get a large ransom. Uhhh, didn’t go as they had planned – too bad, so sad. ??
He was probably sitting in the can during the operation. The Seals grabbed the hostage and left.
You’d consider yourself lucky if they came to rescue you Adam.
I never claimed he wasn’t lucky or deserving of rescue. I never expressed any criticism of this at all – I even went so far to speak well of our SEALs.
I think you missed the point of my post.
Could be. But regardless it’s important to know and to reward heroism.
They wanted him because he was an American. If USA would not have acted fast, he would have been sold to Al Quaida or ISIS. Celebrate, no ransom, got our guy back, best military in the world, no casualties. President Trump continues to to showcase his foreign policy skills. Brilliant!
This post by SD is the first I’ve heard of it. Is the former hostage CIA?
Joe B…in this region is Boko Haram who has sworn loyalty to AQ. I spent some time in Nigeria…
This country is on track to be one of the top 3 or 4 most populous in the world in a couple of decades. Many in America don’t realize that some of their cities are twice the size of both LA and NYC combined. Nigeria is a country battling Christian v Islam like many African countries.
Not a single politician alive could have set aside any concerned for his election to save this man. Only a statesman ,hero ,and a courageous leader named Trump could have ordered this atack
you’re right. because if the operation had failed, the filthy marxist left would be on CNN, NBC, MSNBC, etc. declaring trump unfit to serve as POTUS up one side and down the other.
And our great president ordered the mission anyway.
This is what this President does…HE STEPS INTO THE BREACH…NOT MATTER WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES…He knows he is putting people lives on the line therefore he give the order…HE BACKS THEM WITH HIS ACTIONS…
WE HAVE TO DO THE SAME THING ON ELECTION DAY…WE ALSO HAVE TO STEP INTO THE BREACH…IF we don’t, we will loose our country.
Time to go B@lls to the W@ll, Nail ’em to the wall!!!
True
And I am sure Trump did not limit their freedom of action once he did. They likely have the freedom to do it their way, which might explain the enemy croaking to minimize their risk.
I am sure he wasn’t pulled off the golf course and told about it just before the operation started.
Or gone to bed to rest up for a fund raising junket.
Hey – we all know Battlin’ Joe would have grabbed Corn Pop and his trusty 12 ga. and gone in and done the job in hours, not days! Just wait – he’ll tell ya, man!
But now a dumb Schiff like Don Lemon, or Nasty Pelousy will accuse Trump of using our military for political purposes.
AFTER both Pelosi and Schumer promised that they would call in the national guard to remove Trump after the election…
The projection of what they actually do, upon Trump, is staggering.
People some day hopefully will realize how absolutely stupid these barbaric hypocrites consider us.
Hopefully before they cast their ballots.
Has CNN or their running dogs called it a campaign stunt yet?
President Trump obviously changed the ROE for our forces at the beginning of his 1st term. It went from Ozero’s “bow down and try to make friends” to “use whatever means necessary as long as we win decisively.”
Exactly.
If they’re dead they can’t pose a threat during the operation.
Nor will they be future threat to anyone.
You Have to Leave one alive to 1) Tell the tale and 2) Clean up the bodies… You don’t think we were gonna do it do ya? Heh.
/Salute
“if there are”… very good question!
“We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.”
And their Commander in Chief does not play games.
Do the domestic enemies in this country know how many retired SpecOps soldiers and many other combat specialists there are feeling the same anger we are? The Leftists Communist have no idea what real violence is and how suddenly it’s over.
After all China was actually behind the beating death of Otto Warmbier not NK.
Don’t forget the Engineers!! GOD bless our TROOPS and Our Commander-in-Chief!!! REDHORSE!!!
Combat Engineers !!!!
One of the most timely quotes ever.
After 9/11 on conservative radio, I don’t remember which one but still during W’s term, an intelligence guy came on board and said that they intercepted HUNDREDS of attempts …and we never know it.
I would still like to hear about some of these because all I can see these days is the IC tools and apparatus focused inwards.
And given the FBI track record, I wonder how many of the attempts were initiated by undercover FBI agents just so that they could get credit for foiling a terrorist plot. The IC community was incompetent enough even when given a heads up by the Russians over the Boston bombing perps.
and we also get up before dawn…and pray
we pray that our warriors and better angels are successful… safe…and destroy the enemy.
we pray these things because we believe our nation
IS EXCEPTIONAL
we humble ourselves and acknowledge that God will provide the correct and righteous actions…
we also ask for grace…forgiveness
we do not desire violence.
but we are initiated in the fight.
when these men who have the superior devotion to duty…when they pass away…they will have EARNED the honor to be buried at Arlington…with full honors.
not rgb…not pelosi…not biden… not obummer
those people sully arlington.
they should be given the respect they deserve… earned.
dumped at sea…no honors…no markers.
heroes exist.
we should never allow these phoney corrupt cowards any honors..
God Bless AMERICA
regitiger, I could not agree with you more! My family is travelling to Arlington later this month to bury my father in law. He was a Marine 1st Lt. Combat Engineer whose first action was the assault on Iwo Jima. His good friend, my father, cannot make the trip due to his age but will watch the service on livestream.
They actually fought “together” as my dad served as CPO (bridge crew) on a light cruiser that escorted a close shore bombardment fast battleship squadron. He told me the Navy used light cruisers for this work rather than destroyers, as the destroyers couldn’t match the battleships top speed in the heavy seas they had to deal with.
These men, raised during the depression, enlisted at age seventeen for the last war that was actually declared. My mom at age 15 drove a bakery truck as part of the war effort. They truly ARE the Greatest Generation! We cannot waste their efforts by letting the left take over our country. If they steal the election I’m declaring open season on them, as they already have on us. By any means necessary, right Nancy? A Declaration of Independence from the enemy within our government, is both righteous and necessary.
your FIL..is a national treasure…a gift.
i will NEVER allow corruptors to ride free on the very freedom these men and women fought and died to protect and preserve.
allowing these free riders…anarchists..cowards..and criminals anything less than true justice IS declaring these brave souls sacrificed in vain.
i will not allow that.
promises made
promises kept
the reckoning will be swift and of a time that will never be known.
but it will happen.
and there will be true justice.
when i go to arlington…and graves across the world..my heart is full…and also disturbed.
these is a action necessary.
righteous wars have that effect…the duty….the devotion is about something more than life…its about honor…and oath…to fight for those who cannot defend against tyranny.
and yes…we have tyranny to deal with.
so we take up this old but new battle…again.
we do this for the very same reasons that all american patriots have done so.
we can never allow evil to ride free.
period.
no compromises..
we have declared war.
main battles loom.
my heart is full
stay frosty.
do all the right things.
it will go sideways soon.
we do these things because we love and obey god.
Semper DEAD.!!! … F ya 6 ft under.!!!,,,, usa…USA…. USA.!!!! … Hope they Feed the “Last One” to the Fishes, like Osama bama..!!!
I still have severe skepticism over the O’sama’s demise story.
experience and critical rational thinking is definitely important.
yes… he’s dead…but it’s unlikely the rapid timeline narrative.
know why it would be important to announce his death quickly … understand that…then you realize what other missions were successful.
Wow and we didnt have to send pallets of cash or trade 5 terrorists for one traitor
Bury them in pig skins in the middle of the Sahara
“Bury them in pig skins in the middle of the Sahara” NO!
Send their bodies wrapped in pig skins and large dollar bills to their home village. Think of the hardship their relatives will experience having to clean their bodies for burrial and then also burning all those dollars bills. ?
Why waste valuable pig skin that could be used to make great gloves. There are plenty of vultures spread around the world eager to clean up road kill and other meaty garbage. The don’t care if it’s coming from a dead terrorist.
because they can t see allah wrapped in pig..scares the ctap out of them
The more reason to leave it up to vultures.
My Dad was Navy, and we are very proud of our US Navy….however I still have a problem with broadcasting who completes these missions. It is nobody’s business. We should say “Carried out by US Military Units” What happen to covert? There was a time when nobody heard of Seal Team Six. That is the way it should be. JMHO
I agree, but the Pentagon statement and the President’s two tweets did not mention the SEALS, looks like that came from ABC News.
Yes…Biden outed the Seals after Bin Laden raid.
https://nation.time.com/2011/05/13/the-outing-of-the-seals-has-secdef-ticked-off/
Yep, just another in a long list of reasons to send that senile. corrupt @$#%&!* packing for jail,
Who leaked it was SEAL TEAM 6? Bad OPSEC.
And let us NEVER forget Geraldo, while in Iraq, exposing the location of our troops and shrugging when he was called on it. THAT was a bigger gaffe than his empty Capone closet.
that was one of the first incidents of our media saying that they couldn’t show favor to OUR military because that would show bias….I was absolutely beyond rage when I heard that.
Thanks for clarifying!
Notice it wasn’t Trump or Pence that identified Seal Team Six. So there you go.
In this case, it may have been an intentional message.
I hate to disagree with a Patriot. But Obozo and his actions brought seal team 6 into the spot light. Not only when they did the whole terrorist thing but when he basically assassinated them 2 weeks later.
Your last line…THAT is absolutely accurate and after what came out last week I hope that Barack and Hildebeast have cold empty cells in Gitmo…or something else that I’ll omit out of respect for those who shrink from the founders’ sentencing terms for traitors.
My question is why wasn’t this reported years ago?
https://trumptrainnews.com/2020/10/29/millions-in-chinese-donations-to-biden-center-raise-national-security-concerns-rs-pc/
No!
Not GITMO!
Cankles and lousy Obummer should get new digs on a remote island North of Dutch Harbor somewhere between Alaska and Russia.
Preferably, an island where white bears visit frequently.
Feed Cankles and Obummer well aged MREs.
Though, give them handlines and dull hooks to catch their own fish for dinner… Cooked over MRE gel fuel.
Or they can salt and smoke the fish…
Which should attract the bears mentioned above…
None of that pleasant Cuba weather for cankles and Obummer!
22 members of Navy SEAL Team 6 dead shortly after their unit killed Osama bin Laden
“Who put them in an old slow-flying helicopter in a combat zone?”
“Why didn’t they break them up into fast-strike helicopters?”
“Who made this decision in the Defense Department?
“Who in the Obama administration?”
How could we lose more men in one mission than in the entire history of the Navy SEALS, and no one has been held accountable for it…IMHO, Hillary ,Obama., and Biden
Ty for that
These men were sacrificed by Osama and others in this government
there is a HUGE number of us waiting for answers on this. And also in agreement with the answer you speculate.
Because they didn’t get Bin Laden. They were set up by corrupt traitors in DC and Iran. It was an impostor in the compound in Pakistan who ST6 killed. That’s why the body was allegedly dumped in the ocean, never to be witnessed by anyone. So then because ST6 were witnesses to the corruption and lies they were Arkancided.
Dead men don’t talk.
Many years ago I heard an interview with Dr. Steve Pieczenik –
https://stevepieczenik.com/about/bio/ stating that Osama bin Laden had died in 2001 from kidney and liver disease from Marfan’s Syndrome. He was getting dialysis regularly, not living in a cave in Afghanistan. He also was working for the CIA under the name Tim Osman. And had connections w the Bush family.
So when he was supposedly killed and unceremoniously dumped in the ocean I knew something was up.
It has been a while since I even thought about this so I had to look up Dr. Pieczenik to refresh. I am linking an article written by Dr. P himself w several links to other articles for your perusal should you be interested. Something is definitely fishy.
https://axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_75862.shtml
It must be remembered the CIA built Bin Laden and al Qaeda/Taliban when they armed and trained the mujahideen during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Bin Laden was a CIA asset.
I’ve read this story as well, see the link. Not sure of the trustworthiness of the author or website but this supports your assertion. Was shocked when I saw this but it does help explain the large payment to Iran by Obummer.
https://en-volve.com/2020/10/13/bombshell-former-cia-whistleblower-says-he-has-evidence-obama-biden-murdered-seal-team-6-member-to-coverup-bin-laden-scandal-and-paid-iran-152b-to-keep-quiet/
And I wonder why there was never a military commission to answer just those very questions the way they investigated the ships ramming at sea and the fire in the docks in CA. Not to mention Operation Tailhook.
Read the book “Extortion 17”. It asks all these questions. It tells the story of the doomed mission. I was infuriated when I finished the book. Obama’s DoD has a lot of questions to answer. Maybe some of Biden’s 4-Star officers can answer. So much blood and treasure lost…

Hopper, who put them on a CH-46 cargo bird instead of the usual MH-46 assault ship? Cargo pilots are not trained in assault tactics. And why were all of the troops on one bird when they normally fly on two on this type of mission? Why was there an interpreter on board that was not listed on the flight manifest? So many questions and no answers from the Pentagon. I could bite a 16 penny nail in two I’m so angry!
Hopper, the CH-46 is the fastest chopper in Army’s fleet.
“Why couldn’t they just shoot them in the legs!!!?” – – Joe Biden
And they were well equipped with double barreled shotguns.
Maybe they didn’t have glistening blonde hair on their legs to highlight them?
oops , sorry i posted twice…..my bad..
Your questions should be posted until we have the answers!
AMEN to that!!!! 2nd term MAGA!!
Amazing love for American lives without a concern of what a failed operation would have done to his re-election. Had this failed and soldiers been killed that would have the only story told by the media.
America first, not party or personal gain.
You mean those selfies Michelle Obama sent holding a plaque asking the terrorists to release their hostages wasn’t working?
Oh but you left out that powerful hashtag: #bring back our girls.
…from her luxurious suites that she inhabited with more ingratitude than can be believed.
I remember have a good laugh with a dedicated lefty woman when that came out.
Oh, no!
Boko Haram will be shamed by a social media campaign into releasing their captives…
Funny, but the first time I read your comment I saw “,,,dedicated HEFTY woman….”
Let’s remember under the Obozo bogus administration seal team 6 was blown out of the sky by none other then Obozo to keep his disgraceful disgusting secret deals with Iran!
Let us also remember the events at Benghazi. The Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and the “President” of the United States, Barack Obama, could not be bothered to take the time needed to order the US military that was on alert in Italy to rescue US citizens who were under attack in Benghazi, Libya. Obama and Clinton smoked dope and drank booze and chalked up the dead bodies of Americans as “who gives a shit, we sure don’t”.
There are no words to account for this kind of malice and indifference.

The man gets 4 nominations for Nobel Peace Prize 2021 and still manages to act with resolve when such action is called for; this would not happen under a Biden, I mean Harris administration … there would never be any action for fear of offending somebody.
Tuesday, vote as if someone’s life depends on it !!
It’s this very resolve that makes those peace deals possible.
Amazing President and an amazing ride this is.
it was a mostly peaceful operation.
Well, we can be sure the terrorists are peaceful now. 🙂
Actually, even if by some miracle the mercy of God reached out to them, there is likely very little peace in their after life. Purgatory is supposed to be all the fire of Hell purging the soul, with the ability to bear it coming from knowing EVENTUALLY one will see God.
Actually, I wasn’t thinking about them having peace, I was thinking about them now being peaceful toward us.
Jkash. There is no mention of Purgatory in any of the 66 books that form the Bible, and
Jesus Christ only referred to Heaven and Hell.
All but one of the terrorists are peaceful now.
Well done – Hooah!
Jobiden would have been wringing his hands over what to do and would probably have said no to the mission like he did with the bin laden raid.
For those who haven’t seen this already… (don’t know where or when this was)
This was 2-3 days ago
I couldnt get it on Youtube
I am SO THRILLED its out now
Video has now been removed
Damn
I cannot stand Youtube
Was tweeted by the President 29 Oct. 6 million views.
Biden would have sent Jimmy Carter or Jesse Jackson to “negotiate”, i.e. pay ransom.
More likely “Reporting for Duty” Kerry.
Job well done. But…..there is technically no team named “SEAL Team 6”
DEVGRU.
Should have left Pelosi in his place.
Make it a 2-fer and throw in Cryin’ Chuckie too.
Peace Through Strength.
Kerry and Obama would have apologized to the kidnappers.
And bowed down
Wearing keffiyas
I am conflicted as a taxpayer looking at the millions of dollars of pocket bleed, but even moreso as a parent of sons who could have been on this mission. Yes I’m busting with pride for our guys BUT why are we risking their lives to be police in a country with whom we are not at war in order to rescue (what appears to be, please correct me if I’m wrong) a 27-year-old globally-inclined software entrepreneur who made the voluntary choice to live with his wife and kid in this shithole for his own financial benefit.
Because he is an American.
That’s the way we roll.
Not one left behind.
He wasn’t passing through temporarily on business or pleasure, or because he had to be there for some military or other government job. He literally was living there, ex-pat, when he didn’t have to be. This isn’t one of those “rescues” where he comes “home” to the U.S. to his fretting relatives. Apparently he is still living in Niger?
My sons’ lives are not for this.
Sleep tight, then.
Somebody else will take care of it.
Good luck.
Good luck? Sleep tight? Somebody else? This is coming across snotty to me. My sons are special forces. I’m pretty sure that they did not sign up to get maimed or die so that globalist wannabes who don’t want to live and work in the U.S. can make themselves rich doing deals with Niger… and China?
Then that is their call, not yours, right?
NOBODY signs up to die.
Thank them for their service for me.
Outhouse: Have you actually talked to THEM about how they feel about things like this?
No I haven’t. I will, though, and report back.
It is because if not, then Americans overseas will be targets everywhere – whether they live there or not.
I am sure the Special Forces have their opinions on things, but the also know what they’re signed up for. And I am sure everyone here thanks them for that.
That’s a good point. I should have thought of it. Emotional thinking is bad. I don’t usually.
You obviously raised great kids. I don’t have any connection to the military, now or in the past because of the are that I live.
I live a life of no particular importance and I don’t have a family of my own. I have always avoided situations that cause conflict so when I moved and grew up with a groups of Italian families that took me in I really appreciated that. They never had to go kick some @ss to protect me, but they would have no questions asked. On the other hand, I don’t want people to go out of their way for me – least of all risk their lives for me. I don’t think I would make the decisions to risk people to save me in a similar situation.
And in a similar fashion, the American people have been disposable for American presidents and the DC political class for generations. But WE are important to Trump. WE are important to people like your sons. And it makes me emotional to know that people will risk everything for their duty to their fellow American. So I thank Trump and your sons for their loyalty to duty and country. People should rest assured that under Trump that they matter and someone is looking for them.
sheesh.
I fly a POW/MIA flag below my US Flag.
Not right now though.
A TRUMP2020 waves proudly.
Sending a WW message: “Don’t fcuk with us.”
I don’t see it as policing. Policing implies we set up rules and enforce them. The message isent was we don’t need no stink’n badges, or even permission.
I like the message.
This was not a police action. Not even close.
This was a singular rescue mission for an American citizen who was kidnapped and was made a hostage for ransom. President Trump has zero tolerance for that activity regardless of where the American citizen is living at the time.
PDJT is the President of and determined to protect – all Americans.
Was he kidnapped by garden variety “criminal thugs” (police action) or by hostile enemy forces or a known terrorist group that we are fighting (military action.)
Will he be returning to America, or going back to live on his farm in Niger?
?? Who cares?
President Trump doesn’t play that loser’s game of “matching the forces”. If it had been 15 year olds he would have still sent in our best & most elite to overwhelm the criminals and rescue the American citizen.
I suspect that is why all but one was killed. I also suspect the remaining one is singing like a canary and exposing any info that will point if this is a greater scheme than a generic ransom/cash deal. The ROE our president sets forth allows them to get the intel, save and protect American lives then get the hell out.
A quote from Ronald Reagan (1983) is below.
Thank God for our POTUS and military!!
Aug 05, 2015 · The Obama administration is violating a judge’s order to turn over documents in the Aug. 6, 2011, shootdown
I despised Obama during his administrations. I didn’t realize it would be possible for that to get even more intense. What a stain on our great country.
I pray that PDJT gets to the bottom of this in his next term.
Mmm… Just to be clear, the Navy SEALS did it, not “The Special Forces.” SF wears those Green Berets. A more correct phrase would be “Special Operations Forces.” That term covers a multitude of organizations such as SF and the SEALS.
When you’re talking about military rescue missions, don’t forget the granddaddy of ’em all, The Great Raid.
World War II’s Great Raid on Cabanatuan was the largest and most successful POW rescue mission in U.S. military history.
The history of the Great Raid and the infamous Bataan Death March are inextricably intertwined.
The story is related in the book “The Great Raid on Cabanatuan” (1994) by William B. Breuer.
This book covers a lot of the same ground as the book “Ghost Soldiers” (2002) by Hampton Sides.
The 2005 movie “The Great Raid” tells of this daring mission far behind enemy lines.
The commander who led The Great Raid — Lt. Col. Henry A. Mucci, leader of a Ranger battalion — hailed from my birthplace, Bridgeport, Conn.
The Great Raid kicked off the morning of January 28, 1945. A small detachment of Rangers and Alamo Scouts embarked from their base, their objective being to penetrate 30 miles into Japanese-held territory to liberate 522 prisoners from Cabanatuan — where thousands of American prisoners had been brutally tortured and killed.
The Dyess report was the genesis of The Great Raid.
William Edwin “Ed” Dyess of Albany, Texas, had escaped from a Japanese prison camp on Mindanao, in the Philippines.
The report he made after making it back to American lines led directly to the Great Raid on Cabanatuan prison camp to rescue the survivors of Bataan and Corregidor.
Dyess had survived the Death March.
As recounted in Breuer’s book, Dyess brought back tales of atrocities to Gen. Douglas MacArthur, who later authorized The Great Raid.
Dyess was then a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
After a year as a POW, Dyess and nine others escaped. They spent three months on the run in the Philippines before being evacuated by U.S. Navy submarine to Australia.
In July 1943, a month after reaching Australia and meeting Gen. MacArthur, Dyess returned to the States, where he wrote a detailed account of the Bataan Death March, describing the brutalities inflicted upon American and Filipino POWs at the O’Donnell, Cabanatuan, and Davao hellholes.
Dyess’s straightforward story avoided sensationalism. It stuck to what he had actually witnessed himself or episodes told to him firsthand by those involved. Under wartime security, Dyess’s report had to be submitted to the War Department.
Secretary of War Henry Stimson, aware that he had hold of a political hot potato, rushed the account to FDR.
FDR in turn convened a conference of top military and government leaders to discuss the explosive situation created by Dyess’s blockbuster revelations about Death March horrors.
Would release of Dyess’s account trigger such an avalanche of outrage from the nations of the world that the Japanese would be forced to improve the treatment of POWs?
Or would release result in the Japanese adopting an even harsher line, including refusing to accept Red Cross packages for the American and Filipino prisoners?
FDR also worried that after millions of Americans on the homefront learned of the atrocities, they would demand that Allied strategy of first bringing Adolf Hitler to heel be scrapped, and an all-out assault on anything Japanese be substituted.
So FDR suppressed the Dyess report.
Acting on FDR’s orders, the War Department rushed a directive to U.S. theater commanders to strictly abide by the decision to keep the Dyess account under cover.
MacArthur, livid over Japanese atrocities, fired back to Washington a signal that fell just short of insubordination, pointing out that the Australian government was conducting an investigation of the atrocities and that its results would be released to the world.
In early October 1943, the Washington Times Herald dropped a bombshell. Spread across its front page was a brief, reasonably accurate, though quite sketchy, account of the atrocities.
Meantime, Dyess, who had been promoted to lieutenant colonel, begged Gen. Hap Arnold, the air corps chief, to be permitted to go back to the Pacific as a combat pilot. Fearful of Dyess’s fate should he again be captured by the Japanese, Arnold turned thumbs down. But the general assigned Dyess to form his own P-38 squadron which, conceivably, would be unleashed one day against the Nazis in Europe.
Meantime, Dyess had been put in a deep freeze, presumably to isolate him from journalists. Only his immediate family in Texas and a few friends knew that he was stationed at March Field in California.
One of those in the know was Dyess’s fellow escapee, Captain Samuel Grashio, who also had been promoted. Like Dyess, Grashio had longed to live to see the day that he could tell the world of Japanese atrocities. As soon as he had arrived in Hamilton Field, California, on his return from Australia, Grashio was hustled before authorities and reminded repeatedly that he was not to discuss his life in prison camps with anyone. He had been effectively gagged.
It was MacArthur, who, ignoring FDR’s gag order, in August 1943 took matters into his own hands. MacArthur warned his opposite number, Japanese Field Marshall Hisaichi Terauchi, that he would be held responsible if he and his officers failed to treat Allied prisoners humanely.
Shortly thereafter, the chief of the Japanese Prisoner of War Bureau sent a message to commandants of all Japanese POW camps, urging them to exercise care “to avoid issuing twisted reports of our fair attitude [toward prisoners] which might give the Americans food for evil propaganda.”
Back in the USA, pressure mounted on FDR to release the truth.
Six months after he’d been apprised of the Dyess report, FDR finally relented.
On January 28, 1944, The New York Times blared these headlines: 5,200 AMERICANS, MANY MORE FILIPINOS DIE OF STARVATION, TORTURE AFTER BATAAN.
The story ran nationwide — the Chicago Tribune published its account in serial form for several weeks; it was picked up by more than 100 newspapers.
The Dyess report had became the biggest news story since Pearl Harbor.
Dyess didn’t live to see it. Back on December 21, 1943, he had been on a training flight from March Field near Burbank when his P-38 developed engine trouble. His plane struck a church steeple and crashed.
Dyess was killed. He was 26.
His account of the Bataan Death March was published in 1944 as “The Dyess Story.”
Later retitled “Bataan Death March,” it became a bestseller.
Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, is named for World War II hero.
In August 2015, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott posthumously awarded the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor to Dyess.
Thanks for sharing, northwoods.
wow. Never heard that story. I choose to think he was given additional time on earth for the purpose of telling this story and to facilitate the rescue of so many others. A steeple? Maybe letting us know he was on the fast track to hear the words we all hope to hear: Well done good and faithful servant. I choose to believe that.
That medal was LONG overdue imo
Sometimes I think FDR was not a nice person
Thanks for sharing
There were many atrocities perpetrated by the Japs-on Americans, British and Australians
Bangka Island: The WW2 massacre and a ‘truth too awful to speak’
In 1942, a group of Australian nurses were murdered by Japanese soldiers in what came to be known as the Bangka Island massacre. Now, a historian has collated evidence indicating they were sexually assaulted beforehand – and that Australian authorities allegedly hushed it up.
Vivian Bullwinkel was the sole female survivor of the Bangka Island massacre
The Japanese soldiers had separated men and women on Bangka Island before shooting both groups out of sight of the other.
Nurse Vivian Bullwinkel was shot in the massacre but survived by playing dead. She hid in the jungle and was taken as a prisoner of war, before eventually returning to Australia. Of the small group of men who were massacred, two are known to have survived: Ernest Lloyd and Eric Germann.
Ms Bullwinkel was “gagged” from speaking about the rapes at the Tokyo war crimes tribunal in the aftermath of World War Two, according to Ms Silver, who researched an account Ms Bullwinkel gave to a broadcaster before she died in 2000.

Don’t forget what they did in Nankin, China (the rape of Nankin).
indeed…the cruel inhumane acts of the japanese were well known.
i never truly understood the depths of resentment and hatred until i was chosen as a presidential joint force cordon during a three day 50th memorial event on oahu put together by president bush. he was attempting to create a healing remembrance. invited were thousands…americans AND japanese. my role was to provide close security for senator daniel inouye…a japanese american combat decorated soldier of exemplary ns
it did not play out very well.
americans hated that the japanese were present.
and sadly…senator inouye was most visibly bothered that pres bush had invited them.
think about that. i did.
50 years..the wounds were still bloody.
it was then i first understood what horrors the japanese treated pows..civilians.
those crimes time could not correct.
there is a reason to this very day that koreans and chinese HATE japan.
much of history has focused on the nazis…holocaust.
on the other side of the planet…japan …
yes…it is understandable why many americans…koreans..phillipinis..chinese…aussies..canadians..brits..french…hold very hard hate towards japan.
“to rescue their fellow American”. This is where my heart lies. Thank God for the men and women who breath this concept. I’m betting that includes you.
Murca!
Kudos to a POTUS that pulled the trigger just hours before election day. Imagine if this backfired, as Carter’s Desert One.
It took ballz.
I read about this kidnapping yesterday and prayed for him. Wow! Must have been so many prayers for him. Thank the Lord he is now safe.
that man needs to insert a magazine in his rifle
if that man wants to shoot bad guys he will need first to put a magazine in his rifle
And a friendly reminder kids.

A heartfelt “Thank You” to our Seal Team. With gratitude we think of you often, patriots in spe, risking your life for our compatriots.
Always at the ready.
Thank you to your families who live the life of missing you, always hoping for a safe return.
Thank you to our great commander in chief, President Trump.
This is one of the reasons we need this man 4 more years.
Who do we have to thank for all these special forces. The Boer commandos of course.
Can’t say for sure, of course, but I suspect it is unlikely that had Delta done this work it would be splashed to the press. DevGru are showboaters. Glad they work, but their self-promotion demeans the country. They are CIA’s boys for kinetic ops. Which suggests this was a CIA rather than JSOC op. The lot of them cover up what happened at Abottabad, and after.
On further study, I’m going to posit that this probably was a JSOC op but that in Africa, everybody blends together, and DevGru’s propensity for just killing people, lots and lots of people — it got them thrown out of Afghanistan — would not cause much concern in Africa. CIA in Africa runs their ops using Russian choppers.
I don’t know if anyone has commented on this yet, but I seriously cannot see any other POLITICIAN ordering this so close to the election, Republican or Democrat.
Far too many would be too gutless to order in case anything went sideways.
I am so thankful for a POTUS who is apprised of a problem and acts rather than spending days gaming out the possibilities.
“…gaming out the possibilities” …or the “‘optics.”
Bengazi comes to mind.
With respect: The Benghazi debacle was the net result of the wrong leadership, doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons; not a legit effort gone bad (e.g. Desert One). The Benghazi cover-up was (is) just an additional, self-serving layer of wrong.
Doom On Them.
That’s easy. Trump probably just said, go get’em. no strings attached. Told al the micro managers, if anything,, to stay home. Maybe even confiscated their cells phones too!! LOL!!
