On July 5 2016 the Director of the FBI gave a statement saying essentially that they had reasons to believe a candidate for President had violated the law but they were declining to pursue it because ‘no reasonable prosecutor’ would pursue the matter. We recently found out, after almost 4 years of denials and delays and obfuscation that someone else in the FBI recommended that another prosecution be declined for the exact same reason. Instead, the FBI and DOJ vigorously and unlawfully pursued that one.

My point is, dropping it sends a very clear message to almost half the country that there is and always will be a two tiered justice system. Add to those people the minorities who believe they are held to a different standard and you have a WHOLE LOT of people who no longer trust or respect our entire legal system. That is a recipe for anarchy. They HAVE to clean it up. There is no other choice.

Burn it down to the foundation so the Republic has a chance for survival. Indictments must happen for everyone involved in the coup attempt. Every senator, every FBI attorney, every CIA operative, every corrupt FISA judge, every corrupt DOJ employee, every Department of State coupist and every NGO coup participant must be indicted and prosecuted. The deep state rot must be forever removed from our government at this point in history. The government must be returned to the governed; otherwise there will never be the institutional faith & trust by those who allow the governing to occur. Burn it down.

I think they just want Trump to focus on issues that voters can understand. The persuadable or fence-sitting voters are just not very politically informed or inquisitive. Without more indictments coming down, spygate won’t connect with them. Neither Lowry or McCarthy were never Trumpers once the 2016 election was over (unlike some other NR writers). They’d both like to see Trump re-elected. So do I and I believe Trump needs to talk more like he did in 2016 right now. The wall is still important and its progressing. Less illegal immigration and regulation helped push the unemployment rate to record lows. Taxes are lower and the middle class has more money. The Mid-east should be a big victory lap. He has been willing to sit down at the table with Democrat leaders and make deals, but Crazy Nancy won’t compromise. Those are winning issues. But he’s barely talking about these when he has the voter’s attention.

Having the entire truth revealed is the reparation due for everything they put us through. Indictments is a bonus.

There were occasions in the past where Trump has said he doesn’t forget and always hits back. The man was serious. If it is known Biden will lose and the left will let all hell loose in response, would they use that as a bargaining chip? Peace for The Big Ugly? It might be a way to come at him.

I agree that President Trump needs to continue going after the coup masters, and they need to be brought to justice. But a month before the election, his Job One is to win re-election — and right now, the bigger message needs to be about kitchen table politics. Most people aren’t in the weeds about the Russia hoax — they are worried about covid, about losing their health care, about being unemployed, about riots and how safe their city is, etc.

PTrump needs to hit hard on his recent health care initiative, about the recent Platinum Plan for black communities, about how he is bringing jobs back to places like Lordstown, OH, how he is going after Antifa and other violent protesters, etc. etc. Tell them about promises made and kept — and what the new batch of promises are. Talk more about WHY the best is yet to come, and what that will look like if he is re-elected. If, God forbid, Biden wins — he can go full steam and declass everything and rip the lid off with full exposure on his way out — what does he have to lose? They were going to hound him and his family anyway and try to destroy them. He can keep the investigations going, and let people know highlights, and that the guilty will be dealt with. But for the next few weeks, let people know what’s in it for them personally and concretely if they vote MAGA…

Even some of the “well-meaning” individuals live in a bubble. I care about the “truth” of Russia-gate very much. There are, however, topics and conversations Trump can be having with the public about his policy objectives for the next 4 years and the campaign should be focused heavily on that. Exclusive Russia-gate focus is not what people want to hear, but pretending it didn’t happen and exposing that the full extent is still being hidden by corrupt actors makes no sense either. Tying it to Biden through Obama should be part of the campaign. And China … and economic recovery (which people really care about) … and the covid response that the media are “blaming” him for needs to be turned on its head as his success … etc. etc. etc.

I feel like letting this go would be analogous to not prosecuting any of John Wilkes Booth’s co-conspirators.

Many “beltway Republicans” want this to go away because their favorite congress critters are in on the conspiracy, and I mean that in a criminal way rather than just theoretical. I cancelled my National Review subscription 20 years ago when I sensed that they were elitist beltway types and that a subscription to Handloader Magazine was a better investment. My decision was correct.

Weeks ago, Sundance told us Treepers following Russiagate in excruciating detail, that he was gathering a sense of fatigue on the issue, even among MAGA. A fatigue around the drip of infuriating, damning details with NO ACTION. That we needed to remember to keep up a forward looking fight. I’m paraphrasing, so forgive me if I’m off on some of the nuance.

Point being, I don’t trust Lowry’s motives and don’t know about McCarthy’s and certainly DON’T trust the DC Beltway. But *there is* fatigue. I can barely red the play-by-play anymore. Am I exhausted? Yes. Am I dropping it? Hell, NO!

But do I see it as the most persuasive issue on which to get people to vote? No. Until the damn breaks on the truth (ideally with indictments) — if it it ever does — we are at information saturation. People think they know what they need (or want) to know on the issue.There are precious few actual “undecided” or apathetic voters. Anyone with a potential to break for Trump already knows something about it and either agrees with us, or is sick of hearing us talk about it. The time to try to bring people around on Russiagate is not in the weeks before the election. It drains them of energy.

The lack of indictments after 4 years leaves us just flapping our gums.

I DON’T believe that people simply don’t care about a seditious and treasonous coup to overthrow a duly elected president. I believe, though, that many have told themselves if Trump’s own appointed Justice officials have this much trouble assembling and bringing forth indictments after all this time, it must not be as dramatic as the hair-on-fire crowd is saying. Even most intelligent people don’t spend much time reading difficult things outside their jobs. The ONLY thing that can change the dynamics on Russiagate now is a STRONG presentation of what happened accompanying serious indictments. Until then, we’re flapping our gums.

Here’s what I say to motivate people on Trump (and remember, this is only necessary for anyone not already sold):

-He’s the first President since Reagan not to start a new war or “regime change” conflict in his first term.

-He’s the first president since FDR to piss off all the right people and say, “I welcome their hatred.”

–Agree with him 100% or not — he’s the first president possibly ever to govern on what he campaigned on.

I give these example to try to illustrate the problem with Russiagate as a motivator in the closing weeks before an election.Russiagate makes everyone tired and angry and — most importantly — if you’re trying to get someone to buy Russiagate, you’re not selling them the best things about Trump. To reach those few who are still persuadable, you need either the specific things a given person cares about — or big picture points that cut through the noise.

my family and i are on a road trip through PA today and tomorrow, from philadelphia to state college (center of the state) up north today, and then back tomorrow.
i started counting political signs/flags when we left, and today we saw:

biden/harris – 19 signs, almost all in state college (penn state)
trump: 111 and ALMOST ALL of them had multiple signs, signs and flags, and there were even a few handmade or “drain the swamp” and “end the lockdowns” ones!!

the next time you’re worried about what will happen next month…take a few hours to look around and let us know what you find 🙂

I don’t care what the Vichy Republicans at NR have to say BUT for the next 23 days the priority must be to win the maximum number of VOTES…. turn out real votes and block attempts at Democrat vote fraud.

We don’t have to be all-or-nothing on discussing “Russiagate” issues now….. focus the messaging on what wins over VOTES now… and for people who say there are no “undecided” voters, there are ALWAYS 10-20% of politically mild, mostly indifferent people somewhere in the “middle” who are not paying attention until the last moment. I know some… for instance, a busy professional (doctor) who hates politics and won’t pay much attention until just before voting, but does consider it a civic obligation to vote (she is truly a “walk away” candidate and I am working on her, voted for Hillary but detests Biden, doesn’t love Trump but is considering that he may be good for the country etc.).

For 23 days we need to focus upon what works for gaining votes. I don’t agree that “Russiagate” should ever be ignored, but it is probably not in the “Top 5” for messaging in the next 23 days. Mention it but get onto more “bread and butter” issues…..

While I can see that it’s not an election issue this close to the election, it IS a question of what’s right and of equal justice under the law. Barr and the IG, Huber,etc., have drug this out till the clock has run out and the Dems and their propaganda arm (MSM) have successfully continued their Alinsky moves to keep their sheep convinced orange man bad on everything. Anything they can’t twist, they simply ignore. Yes, our focus now must be to get our President re-elected and keep the Senate in Republican control. I’ll be holding my nose when I vote for Thom Tillis but it has to be done. If we don’t keep control of the Senate, and the Dems keep the House, they will stop President Trump from accomplishing anything and they’ll likely impeach him again. I’m also concerned they will charge him with crimes if he’s not re-elected and they control Congress. But after the election, those involved in the attempted coup need to be tried and sentenced to the appropriate punishment under the law.

NO, JUSTICE is people being judicially called to account for their crimes, being proclaimed GUILTY by a court of law, and being made to pay a penalty for it.
We don’t do justice because there is public clamor or because we ‘feel’ like it, but because IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
The DOJ investigators need to find all who have committed actions for which they can be indicted under federal law in this attempted coup, from THROUGHOUT the federal government and beyond. Where appropriate, there should be indictments of those in the DOJ, FBI, CIA, DIA, NSA (etc.), Dept. of State, NSC, White House staff, congressional staff, serving congressmen and senators themselves . . . . EVERYBODY. They then need to have the full support and weight of the DOJ behind the prosecution, with all that can be revealed revealed, and stiff penalties sought upon achievement of GUILTY verdicts.
Since 85% of the media supported and/or covered up these actions, mere ‘airing of the laundry’ is insufficient. Indictments and convictions must be sought and achieved.
The healthy future of our republic is at stake.
