According to the announcements: ♦ Hamas agrees to gradually surrender weapons in exchange for Israeli troop withdrawal, under a phased plan announced by Donald Trump. ♦ Verification & Oversight: A verification committee will monitor disarmament and troop withdrawal, with weapons stored under a new Palestinian administration. ♦ International Mediation: Agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the US-led Board of Peace, aiming to enable Gaza reconstruction and humanitarian access.
PRESIDENT TRUMP – Via Truth Social – “Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.
This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people. At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks.
This is a major milestone in the implementation of the Trump 20-Point Plan. The agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases. As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors.
One year ago there was a violent raging war, humanitarian crisis and hostages kept in brutal captivity. We have made historic progress and there is still much work to do.
I want to thank the mediators—Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye—for their important efforts, and especially my outstanding team, whose tireless work made this historic breakthrough possible.
The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild!
Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its PEOPLE.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL ON THIS AMAZING DEVELOPMENT, THAT EVERYBODY SAID COULD NEVER BE ACHIEVED!
Optimism for the proposal/plan is primarily driven by the fact that Turkey, Egypt and Qatar are coordinating the terms and conditions for the disarming. From the Palestinian perspective, the U.S. and Israeli influence upon the Board of Peace is mitigated and balanced by the presence of Turkey and Egypt as pragmatic insurance.
This is a very tenuous agreement with multiple points of potential collapse, not the least of which is the Israeli government refusing to permit a stabilizing police force Netanyahu doesn’t control.
(VIA MSM) – […] Based on the premise of “zero trust”, each stage of the plan is supposed to be verifiable and should be accompanied by Israeli withdrawal.
But hours after the deal was agreed, an Israeli air strike wounded several Palestinians in Gaza.
Under the ceasefire agreement of last October, the IDF was given control of about 53 per cent of Gaza but has since expanded its territory to include an estimated 60 to 70 per cent of the territory.
“An agreement has been reached regarding the issue of weapons. Furthermore, an agreement has been reached on a gradual withdrawal of [Israeli forces] from the strip,” a Hamas official said.
Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas negotiating team, told Al Jazeera. “We will not take any action regarding disarmament prior to Israel’s withdrawal from the Strip.”
This appeared to contradict Mr Trump’s statement, which said: “As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw…”
However, an official familiar with the negotiations told The Telegraph that Hamas understood “disarmament” to refer to the end of the process.
By contrast, “decommissioning” would involve Palestinian security forces storing the weapons, meaning that if Israel reneged on its commitments under the deal, Hamas could take back the weapons.
“The idea, in theory, is that all this can be reversed. That way you can agree to a process which is staged and verifiable,” the official said.
It is understood, however, that precise practical details of how and where the weapons would be stored have yet to be agreed, but under the agreement they could not be transferred to Israel.
The UK, principally through Jonathan Powell, the national security adviser, has been a strong behind-the-scenes proponent of the “Northern Ireland-model” of decommissioning.
Israel has not yet commented formally on the agreement, but a US official said the Jewish state was “very sceptical” about Hamas complying.
Israeli officials were reported on Friday as saying that the country did not agree with the “shape” of the agreement, and had conveyed its concerns to Sir Tony Blair, who is working for Mr Trump’s board of peace on the issue.
The deal also depends on the creation of a Palestinian police force.
However, a Western official said that while much of the preparatory work had been done in identifying recruits, Israel was dragging its feet in allowing training to take place. (read more)

I hope this works out. Can’t trust that region much. Fingers crossed and many prayers.

Lots of rational people in Iran that work to be good. The less war the better. This would remove a lot the political ammo from Iran and would be extremely helpful for Trumps and republican polling
Is this the latest version of “Deal or No Deal”?
You can’t negotiate with these people, to them we are infidels.
They don’t honor any agreement with non Muslims.
Within Islam deception is considered acceptable (even commendable) when it is used to further jihad.
I don’t know how many agreements need to fail before we stop trying the carrot and just use the stick.
This is true and has been proven again and again over the centuries, but the reality is (short of completely eradicating the cult of Mohammedanism and all its adherents) evil is never totally defeated, it can only be managed. Israel’s current ‘management’ of this problem has set these mutants back decades (just like we’re doing to Iran).
PDJT and Bibi have done a lot of heavy lifting toward the preservation of Western Civilization, but, unfortunately, all solutions are temporary.
God created darkness so that we can appreciate the light.
The issue will persist until the LORD Jesus Christ returns to the earth to set up his Kingdom. He will take care of the Moslem problem. You are correct, until then we can only “manage” the problem the best we can. The 21 verses in the book of Obadiah tell us about “completely eradicating the cult of Mohammedanism and all its adherents”:
https://thekingsbible.com/Bible/31/1
Other verses in the prophetic scriptures describe how the Lord will spend 2 1/2 days personally taking care of every Moslem on the planet before his feet touch down on the mount of Olives and it cleaves in half.
ok. i have been hearing this for decades, and its not wrong, per se… but what i never hear is what the practical and realistic alternative is to dealing with them, other than keeping them OUT of our society (which we seem very unwilling to do, either)?
Yeah, sure. You can trust Hamas 100%. 🙄
Don’t worry Bibi will stop this from happening any time soon.
Hamas was supposed to disarm under the original agreement and they did not. It all started from there.
Bibi is a convenient foil for the uninformed.
looks like another disaster with the US taxpayers paying to rebuild this awful place.
Is there anything we’re not paying for?
rebuilding our nation.
Egypt is the only party in this that I think is truly committed to peace, and I think it would require an Egyptian -led peacekeeping force and policing to be successful.
Likely you are right. Certainly Qatar is a poisonous interlocutor, and Turkey is also aligned with Muslim Brotherhood. The involvement of both in a post-Trump world is a perilous exercise.
When PDJT says Israel would not exist without him, the truth of that derives from numerous points, beyond Iran’s nuclear ambitions (to have and to use).
But what those critical of Bibi and Israel’s tenacity overlook is that drawing Turkey to Israel’s border, drawing Qatar to Israel’s border as hostiles charged with keeping the peace sounds even more disconcerting than the UN agencies before that failed so miserably in Lebanon. Neither Turkey nor Qatar will face down Hamas or other rebranded terrorists who rearm themselves, as we all know that. Likely Egypt wouldn’t either. And then, by corruption and alliance as pan-Arabs, they will be abetting arms smuggling and simply protecting Palestinian nihilistic and genocidal aspirations from Israeli enforcement. Obviously, that has been effective in creating a quiet border for a change.
A lot of Gazans are ethnically Egyptian. Arafat was.
Yeah right. Another ‘deal’ with terrorists. It’s Friday have other things to worry about./s
Has the entire area not been laid wasted by Hamas and the IDF? I’m beyond tired of this part of the world.
It’s like that one gnat in the middle of the night buzzing your ear, you sense it, try to ignore it, but it becomes so completely annoying and at some point you wake up and swat the thing into oblivion to allow some peace and quiet. These people (not including Israel, who are righteously defending themselves) have been fighting over this same patch of dirt for thousands of years… time to end the idiocy with the 7th Century throwbacks who have no honor.
I don’t believe for even one second that ANY “ New Palestinian Administration” will see to it that Hamas is disarmed
BECAUSE Palestine=Hamas=Palestine
This is a waste of time, just like negotiating with Iran
Yep. Exactly.
One day in and the “agreement” is already collapsing. Anyone who believes that Hamas will ever voluntarily disarm should be forced to live in Gaza for the next year while it continues to be run by a fully armed Hamas.
If it works, Trump will have eclipsed the Camp David Accords.
there will be no peace here under human gvt.
“This is a very tenuous agreement with multiple points of potential collapse, not the least of which is the Israeli government refusing to permit a stabilizing police force Netanyahu doesn’t control.”
It seems better than anything else that has ever been proposed. At least PDJT is trying and making more effort than anyone else before him. Someone needs to inform Mr. Netanyahu that you cannot always get everything you want.
This explains the strike vs Tanker transiting the Suez Canal yesterday by the IRGC and Muslim Brotherhood Operatives in the area. There was also a note this morning that the IRGC had deployed Houthis to Iraq and likely points north into the highly remote tracts of Sinai, near the canal.
Egypt has been a major element suppressing Hamas and especially blocking-controlling passage into the Gaza from their territory, since Obama’s Arab Spring attempt to subvert the Egyptian Government, via The Muslim Brotherhood and all the other thugs falling under this umbrella group.
Any deals with Hamas, such as this one, removes a combat element from Iran’s order of battle in the region and it’s telling that the IRGC moved Houthis North into Iraq and Egypt vs some other more “local” element of the IRGC.
Hamas disarms and the weapons are stored by Palestinians?
This a joke, right? It has to be a joke. Sorta like peace deals with Iran.
It will be interesting to see what happens … there is an interesting precedent in Ireland … the Sinn Fein still controls ALL the IRA’s weapons to this day.
There has to be start. What is the alternative??
The PLA and Hamas are not on such good terms after Hamas recklessly used Gaza residents as shields, stole relief supplies and murdered quite a few to ensure cooperation. The PLA folks who are part of this deal didn’t seem to get the Western Media Memo that it was Israel and Hamas was protecting them after living through treatment by Hamas on the ground.
Yep.
The ‘we can kill our way out of this’ camp must be very disappointed.
This is the last thing Israel wants. Withdrawing from Gaza means they can’t stop journalists and international observers from documenting the scale of the genocide there.
Genocide by Hamas.
Try again.
There’s always a first time for everything, and I pray that God turns their hearts. I have faith in God, but no faith in these terrorists. “God gives free will to us to allow us to choose life and salvation voluntarily. However, we are responsible for those choices that lead to life or death/condemnation”.
Sometimes all it takes to make an honest woman is getting rid of her sugar daddy.
Trump taking out Iran makes peace possible.
Temporarily, perhaps, but if you think anybody’s mind was changed in Gaza, you’re mistaken. So, it’s only a matter of time before any “peace deal” is broken. That’s the nearly 1500-year history of Islam. All peace agreements are only temporary and will be nullified by the Muslims as soon as they sense that they are strong enough to win the fight.
“…with weapons stored under a new Palestinian administration.”
?!?!?! How is that “disarmament” in any legitimate sense of the word. Hamas was the government of Gaza previously. So, color me skeptical that Hamas hasn’t infiltrated any “Palestinian administration” or that any such administration could ever be unsympathetic to the “Palestinian cause.” Handing weapons to anyone that lives in Gaza is IMO (yet another) fool’s errand. Honestly, handing a weapon to any Muslim is stupid.
Turkey would willingly sell out Hamas if they think that it weakens Iran.
