I don’t think Congress cares. They are quite happy doing nothing, we have hundreds of years of evidence of this. Not sure what’s going to get accomplished here.

The only hope Republicans have for the mid-terms is to motivate enough of the MAGA voter base to come out in November to overcome the Democrat’s systemic mid-term advantages — their own energized voter base backed up by massive election fraud where and when it is needed.

The only way that happens in the face of the GOP Establishment’s backstabbing is for PDJT to demonstrate to the MAGA voter base that he is willing to risk everything to get the SAVE Act passed.

In a nutshell:

• On 3/26/25, President Trump singed EO 14,248 “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections” [1] and one yer later, on 3/31/26 he signed EO 14,399 “Ensuring Cityzenship Verification and Integrity in Federal Elections” [2]. Both presidential actions were multiple challanged in different federal districts and blocked, [3] appeal process ongoing.
• Saveguard American Voter Eligibility Act passed House by 218-213 votes on 2/11/26. (An earlier version of this bill passed House by 220-208 votes on 4/10/25, but stalled in the Senate.)
• On several occasions, SAVE Act basicly failed in Senate, as more than three GOP Senators, namly Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell (now: hospitalized), Lisa Murkowski, and Thom Tillis defected. At the moment, it doesn’t look like that Majority Leader John Thune is making much of an effort (to talk to Collins) to find that one missing vote.
