President Trump appears very serious about facing down both the Senate and the House on their intransigence to pass the Save America Act to secure national elections. President Trump is now on a direct collision course with Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
Trump was scheduled to sign the 21st Century ROAD to Housing bill on Wednesday afternoon, which passed both chambers with wide bipartisan support. (Politico)
This is the second legislative priority being blocked by President Trump due to Legislative friction. The FISA (702) reauthorization in the Senate is also stalled as Senator’s demand Trump withdraw Acting DNI Bill Pulte.

Since resolutions don’t have the force of law, I don’t think President Trump has to sign it.
It was passed “concurrent” which does not require the President’s signature nor does it carry the force of law. It’s meaningless and in this case strictly political.
It will weaken the negotiations with Iran as they will take the stance he doesn’t have the authority to attack them again which is not what the concurrent resolution does but it does convey that message to our enemies.

I don’t know if the housing act is a good thing or will just make things worse. But I haven’t heard a single member of Congress tell the truth about what is really driving the affordability problem. It is the 40 million or more illegals in the country, half of them added during the Biden years. They have to have somewhere to live and their added demand is pushing up prices, mostly for used homes and rental prices, which in turn affects supply for most citizens and legal immigrants across all types of housing. Get the illegals out of the country and home prices and rents will come down everywhere.

I’ve said it here before and I’ll say it again…the Republicans do not want to pass this law, because they really don’t want the majorities. We’ve forced it on them several times since 2016, and each time they just don’t do anything. They stall, hold sham hearings, but in reality accomplish very little. Action speak louder than words. They would rather sit in the minority and sell their votes for money. Republicans use power to get money, Democrats use money to get power. If this law were to pass, Democrats would lose power for ever possibly without the ability to cheat. Republicans would have the majority for as far as you can see, and simply they don’t want that and the responsibility to actually govern. 80% of all Americans want this…it’s a no brainer to pass, unless…
