Watching U.S. Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra discussing current U.S-Canada trade dynamics is to be witnessing one man behind enemy lines trying to explain a situation the audience cannot fathom. It really is remarkable.
The longer he is assigned to this almost hopeless task, the more he develops an ‘I don’t give a damn‘ attitude, regardless of the audience size. It’s completely understandable.
The Canadian government controls the information available to the entire country. The Canadian media push that skewed information to the entire country. Then there’s Ambassador Hoekstra; the guy with completely different information, trying against all odds to present a viewpoint that is so fundamentally different the audience cannot grasp it.
In this video segment all of the dynamics come into play, but that’s not the real value in this capture. WATCH:
What I would recommend to all those who have followed this genuinely bizarre disassociation topic, is to go to YouTube and read the comments underneath this CTV video – GO HERE.
I love and respect our Canadian Treepers who are here with us in the CTH branches of discussion. I cannot fathom what it must be like to live in Canada amid this level of social, cognitive dissonance. You have my utmost respect and sympathy.
Within all of the Canadian free trade agreements (FTAs), regardless of nation, there is something called a baseline memorandum of understanding (MOU). That MOU outlines how the trade agreement for goods sold into Canada are contingent upon Canada retaining access to the U.S. market. When the USMCA is dissolved, almost every single FTA organized by the Canadian government that matters, collapses. Canadians have no concept of what is coming.

WOW!!! Definitely read the comments. They really have no clue. Whistling past the graveyard doesn’t begin to describe their state. – its more like holding their ears, saying “La-la-la-la-la”.
I read them too….to me these are not random….this is about control…the comments are a professional hit…a Wet Work.
Canadian is toast.
I did read the comments over there, and they are all delulu.
I didn’t expect all the hate and nastiness from the commentors. I don’t know what to say. I had to stop reading after about 30 seconds. If you are an American-DO NOT VISIT CANADA. You or your car may not make it home in one piece.
We did a Maritime tour by car ferry, couple three years ago. We would not even think of going now.
wonder why they are so mad when they say they don’t have anything to worry about.
Yes, please everyone — READ THE COMMENTS. It is jaw-dropping how out of touch the Canadians are, but if their media are as controlled as suspected, Canadians sadly have no other frame of reference unless they actually go online and do their own research.
And there’s the rub. They need to go online to do research and learn truths, but the remaining question is how to show them when so much information is clearly controlled? A mighty mountain to climb.
Hell, our media is controlled. We are just fortunate that a majority of us are cynical as F and rebels at heart.
Too many Canadians choose to remain willfully & blissfully ignorant. Those with any capacity to see the communist/socialist creep destroying their economy & way of life have already left or desperately wish they could.
I agree; I only read the first thirty or so. They are clueless, ignorant, and don’t realize what’s about to slap them in the face.
Wow , Canadians appear to truly hate Americans after reading the comments. Congrats Canadian media, you have completely brainwashed your citizens.
Canadians are in for a rude awakening.
All at the hands of their own government.
The Snow Mexican comments left me with the impression that Canada is little more than a failing group home for the mentally retarded.
irrational exuberance combined with bad judgement and bad company.
My same thoughts exactly! The comments were dominated by the “elbows up” crowd. Crashing head first, at full speed into the end boards is never a good choice… Oh Canada!
The many good Canadians reading this post or even remotely aware of the coming circumstances have very difficult decisions to make in order to prepare for their survival of the economic catastrophe forthcoming for Canada. Only by the grace of God did the USA have a reprieve from our own total destruction with the return of President Trump to office so we sympathize with the many good Canadian Treepers. A plan on what is necessary action for your survival is needed.
The decisions are not difficult. They need to use common sense, which is easy. We did it. President Trump has been telling Canada the same things he’s been saying here in America. Common sense in decisions. If they make Canada great they will be making a common sense decision.
The only thing we did that mattered is pray for a reprieve. We really did escape the same fate for a little. But make no mistake: each change in national leadership risks disaster, and if the USA fails there is no long term market for much of what the world or USA produces-we won’t be able to buy it.
We hope for a better Canadian GOVERNMENT, the private sector people are okay. The looniness of King Charles giving Canadian land HE doesnt own to the indigenous Tribes seems like a legal theft construct on Canadians by their government.
Canadians thinking the trans-ship ‘Trade’ w/b continued going on as before is delusional thinking – Hoekstra has s-p-e-l-l-e-d it out to them – why pay a middleman when you can go direct…..
Canada was ill served under Covid – we like to cruise to Alaska in the hot summer, and closing ports was very damaging to Alaska economy. – Victoria. & Vancouver probably didnt care. Shoe’s gonna be on the other foot. Would expect US to tweak requiring a stop in a foreign port if ship is not US flagged t/b modified to prevent any leverage there again. Maybe plan is Alberta & BC join US, no need to stop in Canada – just US territory w advantageous tax & trade treatment till they can be represented w Senators that won’t sell-out (as if lower 48 is barely able to do that)….
It would appear that Canadians, writ large, have been propagandized into “believing the propaganda” their bullshit government has been spewing. America is NO LONGER going to be the WORLDS patsy or piggy bank. If y’all want to “go it alone” have at it!
I think a border wall belong on Americas border both North & SOUTH!
BTW, Sundance the picture of the SHEEP in your post is very appropriate and apparently “factually true”!
IMHO: Canadians are similar to Americans in that there is a great divide. I believe we have reached Majority here, but it hasn’t been without a huge fight for the right politicians, and our fierce desire to remain “American”. I believe that Canadians can do the same thing. Fight. Fight. Fight.
I have no idea about how this trade agreement works, but I occasionally drive from Fargo to Winnipeg. Coming south into the US you see billboards from US doctors advertising knee replacement and some other surgery. In Grand Forks the liquor stores do quite well as liquor is far cheaper.
I don’t know what goods America is buying from Canada.
Went to the comments. They’ve transferred their international TDS to a form of surrogate HDS. Government indoctrination on full display. The sheep photo is on target.
ENVY….The god of the left. Peter Jennings (remember him?) said the hate of the USA is the mother’s milk of Canadian people. Their media and government controls their information and their thinking. It is the same here when Clinton, Obama and Biden were in power. How can 48% of the USA vote that Kamala is possibly better to run the country? Class warfare is a great weapon.
Votes don’t matter, ballots make the (s)election. Even in 🇨🇦
It’s classic Alinsky: vilifying America keeps the Nazi/Commie/Globalists in power.
Until it doesn’t.
ps; It’s interesting how Castro grasped the value of installing SmartMatic CheatWare in Venezuela and then North America.
He even installed his Little Bastard in Mrs. Trudeau. That’s dedication!
Tyranny is the Family Bidness. But Freedom is the Lord’s Family Business, Hallelujah!

Rest in the Vine: Havana Day? Dreamin’!
How does anyone think Trudeau is not Castros son after those side by side comparisons.
We know you’re in there!
You think Trudeau knows? Is Cuba on our northern border?
Great White North, Red Green & Rapido Trains!!
This is so strange, I listen & watch about a dozen Canadian podcasters and channels and have never experienced such insane comments. It doesn’t make sense, unless it’s not legitimate. Which I suspect is the case so I’ll just let it go.
From the youtube comments, they seem very confident.
I wish the syrupeans well.
Ha! “syrupeans” … stealing that, thanks!
Meanwhile, on /r/Canada, the top comment about that Japan Times article mentioned at CTH recently:
These deals are basically this:
“Hey little kid, wanna play video games?”
“Sure!”
“Is your hot sister going to be home?””
I’d bet most of the hate comments are AI generated.
Lately Utube has taken another giant leap towards even more TDS videos and the commentary is all to similar to be a coincidence.
Comments are sensational. I love the guy who says ” OH yeah? Well maybe we don’t want to be involved in your crummy Gen 6 jet! You know what? Maybe we’ll just build our own Gen 6! We’ll call it Gen 7 and it’ll be awesome! Fools.
The comments are crazy!
Thank you for highlighting this.
Sheep in the dark. Lmfao
I did not read the YT comments because I like to keep my blood pressure under control. Same thing with our Deface the Nation, Meet the Presstitutes, etc. I can’t thank Sundance and his team enough for putting transcripts on these pages although this clip was worth hearing what our ambassador had to say.
I believe what I hear from Dekester, Dan Dale and other “real” Canadians on this site who see and tell us what’s really happening while their overlords and their news jesters lie about and obfuscate the truth.
Whoa to those Canadians who like their fellow sheep here in America believe every word from CBC et al.
Spring break-up is gonna be a bad one this year in Canada.
It seems to me that the Canadians are expecting America to renew the existing trade agreement! “Canada has formally requested that the United States and Mexico renew the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) for an additional 16 years. In a letter delivered on June 2, 2026, Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc argued the pact is “highly beneficial” to the integrated North American economy and urged counterparts to finalize the extension before the July 1 review deadline.”
I don’t think that’s President Trump’s intention! What happens when President Trump doesn’t?
I’m Canadian and I am genuinely terrified of what’s coming in the fall. Can anyone outline from a practical perspective what it will look like for a very average person such as myself? I already cannot afford housing and am housesitting as much as possible to keep a roof over my head.
Utterly bizarre world we are living in and as a Canadian those comments are so embarrassing. During my nine years as a supply tech (logistics) in the military and working with McDonald Aircraft when we rec’d our first CF-18s we were so proud to be deeply involved with the US working hand in hand. Then worked “in the hole” at the Canadian NORAD alongside the US military and their familieswho were stationed there. That was a long time ago in the 80s ….now our military is a joke (no discipline, standards and diversity is thr goal there now…just ridiculous) and so is NATO.
Pete Hoekstra is working so hard….but falling on deaf ears for sure. Kudos to him.
Hope the people of Canada have all joined classes on *How to Speak Chinese*……
