Generally, the Washington Post is the outlet for interests and concerns of the CIA or international elements of the U.S. intelligence community. Narratives from the Washington Post usually shape storylines against scrutiny of the Intelligence Community.
It has been widely reported that the FBI has been working closely with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in detecting and discovering corruption amid Ukraine officials who have skimmed money from various international aid programs. However, the Washington Post is suddenly concerned that FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino have held “secret meetings” with lead Ukraine peace negotiator Rustem Umerov.
This becomes interesting if you have followed along and noted that during negotiations the reports of Rustem Umerov indicated his concurrence with the peace agreements structured by Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Indeed, based on feedback during these meetings President Trump has said the Ukraine delegation appeared “quite happy” with the terms of the Witkoff/Kushner proposals, while Ukraine President Zelenskyy was less accepting.
Between the lines of statements following the consultations, it is easy to get the sense that Rustem Umerov is in alignment with the U.S. proposals, but Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not. Hence, Zelenskyy keeps returning to his U.K, France, Germany and EU support network for counterproposals despite his officials like Umerov working with the U.S. team directly.
This paragraph from within the WaPo (CIA) framework seems to tell a background story:
[…] “The meetings have caused alarm among Western officials who remain in the dark about their intent and purpose. Some said they believe Umerov and other Ukrainian officials sought out Patel and Bongino in the hopes of obtaining amnesty from any corruption allegations the Ukrainians could face. Others worry the newly established channel could be used to exert pressure on Zelensky’s government to accept a peace deal, proposed by the Trump administration, containing steep concessions for Kyiv.” (more)
The FBI working with NABU to uncover Ukraine corruption. The FBI is meeting with Ukraine lead negotiator, Rustem Umerov. A massive corruption scandal has just taken down Zelenskyy’s main aide, Andriy Yermak.
“The discussions [between the FBI and Umerov] are happening at a critical moment for Ukraine. It is under pressure by the Trump administration to agree to an end-of-war proposal with huge implications for the country’s borders and territorial integrity.
It is also facing its most far-reaching corruption scandal since Zelensky took office in 2019. Ukrainian investigators alleged last month that $100 million had been stolen from the country’s energy sector through graft and kickbacks.
Eight people, including Zelensky’s former business partner, are accused of embezzlement, money laundering and illicit self-dealing. Zelensky’s top aide, Andriy Yermak, the second most powerful person in Ukraine, resigned in late November after his house was raided. Another close former ally of Zelensky, Oleksiy Chernyshov, who served as deputy prime minister, is accused by Ukrainian authorities of receiving $1.3 million in kickbacks.” {link}
Perhaps Zelenskyy’s primary negotiator for the USA team, Rustem Umerov, has specific knowledge of corruption connected to the generous financial support the USA has provided Ukraine. Watching Yermak get taken down within the FBI/NABU investigation, might have triggered Umerov to cooperate on several levels.
Umerov reported as happy with the negotiated U.S. terms. Volodymyr Zelenskyy openly not happy with the negotiated terms.
This is worth watching.

So, why wouldn’t Z-man replace Umerov?
If the admin has the goods on Z-man and his abettors – why not press full court now? What are the US politics that might be preventing such immediate action?
Maybe Z-man will be replaced BY Umerov, and Z-man believes that if he replaces Umerov, that he himself will be disposed of, sort of like Mussolini?

Those would be the ones where Dems and RINOs accuse Trump of: selling out to the Russians; being Putin’s beech; leaving Ukraine rudderless; snatching defeat from the jaws of a victory that was moments away; throwing away the sacrifices of Ukrainian dead and wounded; wasting the billions the US provided; destroying NATO; leaving Eastern and Northern Europe vulnerable to Russian invasion at any moment; etc. Avoiding blame is Washington’s premier motive. Oust Zelensky to achieve peace and the Obama/Biden reasons for the war will be buried immediately.
Umerov will soon be either Eurocided or CIA-cided. That’s why Zelenskyy isn’t bothering much with opposing him publicly – the latter has plenty of “help” on his side of the equation.
The CIA and its pawns don’t want peace or territorial concessions. They want war with Russia. If there are any elements of the Trump cabinet that are not beholden to the spooks, they need to utilize alternative channels to the CIA controlled Rubio/Kushner channel. You might say, “Rubio and Kushner aren’t spook assets, they’re working to sell DJT’s peace plan which includes territorial concessions” but far more goes on behind the scenes than we ever know or see and DJT is so quick to gloss over details he’s an easy mark to convince of one’s loyalty only to do the opposite after the jet touches down halfway around the world.
That may be true, but it’s also 100% speculation.
the usual things that prevent administration of justice. i.e. bribery, extortion, blackmail and other dark arts of leverage and manipulation.
Trump wants a deal now, but Umerov may get Z’s job down the road. I bet FBI are gathering dirt on Z.
If Cash Man Patel and Bongo Bongino are really serious … their “investigation” (cough cough) would actually drive the nails into the coffins of any US neocon effort to derail the end of the Ukraine Conflict as all the NAMES and TRAILS associated with the 10% Big Payouts would become known to the DoJ.
At very least it would set the stage for Z-Man’s resignation and exporting to some posh location, if that is really the purpose of the meetings.
But then on the other hand … The Ukrainians with whom the Cash Man and Bongo are working were the same guys pumping information into Impeachment 1.0 and Russia Russia vs President trump.
Oust Zelensky, problem solved
Oust the ones who put him in power!! World problem solved.
Get rid of that pint size Nazi and the conflict will be over. One of Putin’s original demands before the conflict started was that he get the Nazis out of Ukraine.
This is why Z will never find a suitable deal. To guarantee his refusal one only has to include “terminate martial law, again recognizing constitution so that people can vote on terms RE territory BUT this also includes – under constitution – holding new general elections.” He is going nowhere unless someone “takes” him there.

Zelensky is a grifter. The Biden family members are grifters. CIA is famous for funding their black ops through illegal means. Anyone in law enforcement who connects the dots will be considered to be a threat.
My one hope with the FBI is that they’re investigating Americans who have been collaborators in the skimming operations. Certain Ukraine faux-impeachment characters and some Senators and House reps also come to mind.
We sent the money. Therefore it must be assumed that certain Americans are in on the grift.

CIA is worried since they have to be on the take on the hundreds of billions they have gone to Ukraine. Maybe not personally but they likely operate the mercs and contractors as there to fight and help Z run their American and European supplied technology. It’s now established that One of Trump’s attacker (Routh?) was related to one of these networks that recruit Al Qaida, Pakistani, and Chechen fighters for Ukraine. If you peel off the band aid, a lot of bad stuff is going to come out I’m sure. And that will likely involve half or more of all politicians.
So the corrupt FBI is going to work with the corrupt NABU? For the very purpose of hiding….corruption. I’ve seen no signs that Cash and Bongo are lifting a finger to stop corruption at their own agency. As a matter of fact, they’re supporting it.
