Today the leaders from Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Poland, Finland, the E.U. and NATO will be holding a conference call with President Trump and Vice President Vance to give instructions in advance of the Trump-Putin summit.
None of the European leaders were invited to the Alaska summit, yet all of the European leaders want to tell President Trump what to do at the summit with President Vladimir Putin. Because, of course they do…
EUROPE – […] The Europeans recognize that they can only do so much to influence a president who often veers off-script and likes nothing more than to declare a deal.
But on Ukraine recently they have met with some success, for example, by persuading Trump to allow them to transfer U.S. weapons to Ukraine and purchase replacements for themselves.
And in recent days, especially after a meeting with Vice President JD Vance in Britain over the weekend, they have found the U.S. administration receptive to some of their red lines.
After that meeting, Vance, in a television interview, endorsed at least one European position — that the current line of contact and positioning of Ukrainian and Russian troops should be the starting point of any talks — rejecting a Russian demand that Ukraine first surrender its entire eastern Donbas area.
Ahead of Wednesday’s call some Europeans expressed guarded optimism, especially with Trump seeming to lower expectations of securing a deal in Alaska.
[…] Wednesday’s call with Trump caps a flurry of meetings and statements organized by the Europeans since the Alaska summit was announced, all of which have provided a strong endorsement of Kyiv’s position.
Wednesday’s virtual summit hosted by Germany will include the leaders of France, Britain, Italy, Poland, Finland, the E.U. and NATO. The Europeans will meet first with Zelensky before Trump and Vance are expected to join the call.
[…] NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has suggested a deal could involve acknowledging de facto Russian control of some of Ukraine’s regions, without Kyiv officially ceding them.
If Trump’s meeting with Putin advances to “full-scale negotiations,” Rutte said Sunday, territory would “have to be on the table,” as would security guarantees for Ukraine. Rutte said talks should recognize “that Ukraine decides on its own future,” with “no limitations” on its military or on NATO’s posture in Eastern Europe.
Freezing the current front lines would leave about one-fifth of Ukraine’s territory in Russian hands. Ukraine, meanwhile, has little leverage for a land swap, holding a small toehold in Russia’s western Kursk region since a faltering offensive last year.
“Europeans can say what they want, but in the end, Ukraine and Russia will have to agree,” said a third European official. “It’s unlikely there’s a peace deal now where Putin says, okay, I’m going to withdraw from all of Ukraine.” (read more)

On Friday, if this meeting between President Trump and President Putin does not produce an agreement, then I hope our President just walks away from NATO, Western Europe, and Ukrainia. We have our own problems here that President Trump needs to try and fix. I’m sure there are many, many, Americans who are fed up with this craziness that never ends, just like myself. It has turned into a joke.
I agree that we should let Europe deal with the war but we can’t just turn our back. We did that after Germany and Japan invaded their neighbors and it allowed a much bigger and deadlier war to ensue that eventually forced us in.
Unfortunately, or fortunately due to critical thinking of long range concerns,
our future national security is at stake. EU, UK, China, Russia, Iran, and others
if left to run amok could at some future date band together to destroy the US,
either economically or physically or both.
While it makes us feel good to say in essence, “no more” whether it be
weapons, money or political involvement, it wouldn’t be prudent.
I have to say JD can give a speech rolling of his tongue. Ya.
I am sorry, I just get really sick when I think about the crap slung about this war. The US started it, created it, made it happen, stop w/the BS. Quit lying and stop brain washing those young men. I can’t see their faces, but I see the crowns of the back of their sweet young heads, they do not need to be in any stinking war.
“The US started it …”
Yep, those were American tanks that rolled across the border into Ukraine. They were disguised as Russian. Just like the American tanks and troops that invaded Crimea and Georgia before that.
“Yep, those were American tanks that rolled across the border into Ukraine.”
If you think the war started when Russian tanks went into Ukraine, you are well and truly lost.
I guess I am truly lost to think it was Putin’s desire to reclaim the territory of the failed Soviet Union and not America who started the wars in Ukraine, Crimea, and Georgia. You seem to know more. What American units were involved in those invasions?
The 2014 DOS/CIA coup d’état in Kiev was a huge leap forward, towards provoking Russia into conflict with NATO, which had been a longstanding goal, in the planned fragmentation of Russia.
The two videos below will fill in some of the large information gaps you appear to have.
I’m not sure that you should rely on an Oliver Stone production to shape your political charges.
A waste of time this is, with one who only believes what CNN has told them!

Going by your reasoning, our alleged involvement in a coup d’etat was the reason for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Sure.
When the Soviet Union instigated coups in Eastern European countries after WWII, did we invade the Soviet Union? When the Soviet Union took our POWs from North Korea and North Vietnam, did we invade the Soviet Union? When we initiated a trade embargo against Japan in 1939, did they have a right to attack the US? Your reasoning is flawed and cannot support Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, Crimea, and Georgia.
Again, what American units were involved in those invasions?
Exactly. Western media has half of America brainwashed beyond recognition. And the disinformation is so ridiculously amateurish and provably wrong, it is beyond comprehension how anyone can be fooled by it.
The U.S. and UK started this war, period. It is pretty well documented if you look past the misinformation flowing from intelligence-controlled western MSM. Putin, the sanest leader in the world today, never wanted this war and was very patient with the war-mongering West before they forced him into it. Do a thought experiment on what the U.S. response would be if Russia did the exact same things in Mexico as we did in Ukraine. The Cuban Missile Crisis provides clues, but this would be much worse. America has no business meddling in Ukrainian affairs and NATO, a defensive organization whose reason for existence ended 30+ years ago, has no business fighting an offensive war and should be disbanded immediately. America should be allied with Russia to counter Chinese aspirations to control the world. The Biden administration, run by clueless, communist children, failed the world in so many ways.
Yes Russia was the first to engage in violence but the US appeared to goad him into it by breaking numerous previous promises made of not supporting NATO encroachment to his border. When Biden ignored those promises due to ignorant hubris Putin was cornered. He’s a vicious animal and responded accordingly.
If what you say is true then this is all on the democrats and Biden and should be brought out in headlines. The only reason I can see that they did this was to cover up the money Ukraine was paying that family under the table.
Um NATO and Ukraine started it by provoking Russia with nato membership for Ukraine. Would you want to be surrounded by an enemy? US didn’t start this and why are we in it, bc we have an agreement with nato who wants to pull us in it on purpose. Our cia doesn’t help matters as well.
That ain’t our circus and them ain’t our monkeys.

Trump cannot just walk away from Ukraine. Let’s get real. Half the Republicans in the Senate and House would revolt against him. And Trump will need their votes to thwart another impeachment if the Democrats take the House in the midterm election. That looks increasingly likely. Trump cannot alienate half his party.
Trump has to walk away from Ukraine and he can. The majority of this country wants us out of Ukraine, no matter what the scum in Congress want. I have been saying for years that Trump should follow the Reagan model and appeal directly to the people. Give a nighttime address and explain to the people that this was a war started by criminal elements in the U.S. government in 2014.
Those criminal elements arranged for the duly elected President of Ukraine to be deposed. Ukraine was chosen as the proxy to wage war on Russia. Why wage war on Russia, who is a threat to no one? Because Russia is beyond the control of the globalitarian parasites who wish to rule the planet.
That’s the entire reason for the war, and if that is explained to the American public, without the distortion of the communist media, the majority of the public will support President Trump.
A majority of Republican voters want us out of Ukraine.
What you state is true to a great extent, which is scary. I’m so disappointed with the Republican Party. Although far better than the criminally corrupt, power-hungry DemocRat party, many are corrupt and/or cowards, not even counting the RINOs. Shameful.

I wonder which grifters are making the most bank from the war.
I don’t trust any of them who are pushing to continue the War.
I am not on Russia’s side.
What I know is that those pushing for America staying in are making bank in some way.
Not wanting your tax $$$ to be stolen by the most corrupt regime on earth, makes you a patriot.
Whichever countries leader yells louder about how much they are doing for Ukraine, yeah that’s Your biggest rook.
The ignoramus clown show European “leaders” seem blithely committed to destroy beautiful Europe, it’s tragic. That said, $there is an identified economic angle to Trump’s thinking in the matter. Russia is huge, yet relatively small GNP. Important consideration for them is international trade implications of having direct/substantial access to the Black Sea (the Donbass etc.) = international trade opportunities multiplied. Example – selling increased volume of oil to anyone beyond Germany. So, some beat up the 90s idea used w/ opening up trade w/ China, as trading partners less likely to war w/ each other with free and fair commerce. So China definitely gamed willing entities to the hilt placing us where we are today, but certainly we haven’t had a hot war (yet). I still lean toward idea that trading partnerships do tamp down the “hot” and economic wrestling prevail, which is not undesirable.
When all the NATO members contribute at the same level to the NATO defense as the US does, then they can have an input to the meeting.
Loser’s lineup SMH
Basically what the Europeans really want is for the US troops to go to war with Russia over Ukraine. They will provide hospital units, public information units, maybe a handful — and I do mean a handful — of combat troops. They will expect the US to pay for all or most of it, and also to pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine and its subsequent admission to NATO. Nice work if you can get it, Eurowimps. It is NOT going to happen.
I heard some commentary(maybe on Warroom) that the ‘summit’ tomorrow is about way more than the war as there are opportunities for growth and non-war with influence around the globe and I think the EU globalists sense the same.
The Europeans’ plan has been obvious since DJT became president — manipulate the US into direct conflict with Russia in the expectation that the US will defeat Russia and topple Putin *without* escalation to nuclear weapons, and in the aftermath will swoop into Russia like vultures to install a Pro-Euro regime and proceed to pillage their natural resources while a diminished US will be left gasping for air after a bloody and expensive fight and unable to oppose them. What that means for China-Taiwan, they don’t care.
These ankle-biters in the EU and UK, can drop dead, as far as I’m concerned.
Allow our VSGDJT to do what they can’t do and couldn’t imagine being in his position. They’re not that smart and stand in the way of progress and peace. Putin is not the problem here, they are. Salivating over the thought of WWIII, is not leading. It annihilation!
If Ukraine or NATO for that matter have to rely on US military and our tax money, then Ukraine/NATO get NO say in the matter of its own future.
