There are many special interest groups within the House republican party that made the framework of the Big Beautiful tax cut and spending bill a lot less beautiful with smaller spending cuts. The Big Beautiful Bill is now in the Senate, and Senator Rand Paul announced today he is a big “No” on the bill itself.
Appearing on Fox News to announce his opposition, Rand Paul also answered questions about the ongoing government weaponization review. WATCH:
.

Gosh, you naysayers make me puke. Tell me another POTUS over the past fifty years that has sacrificed and put his life on the line whose done more positive things for this country when considering the opposition he has received from almost the entirety of the federal government including the backstabing members of his own party. DJT knows his stuff given our country’s fiscal (and economic) turn around plus leadership on the international stage in 2016-2020 and from Jan 2025 to currently May 2025. Yet you clutzes listen to the same old naysaying nonsense from the usual whiners about too much spending but when the shoe is on their foot they do nothing, no viable suggestions and just let the free fall continue, exept when they rise to the occasion to work across the aisle and smooch the Dems and swamp’s posteriors. The bottom line is that all the opposition that you’ve lent an ear too habitually kicks the can down the road so that if the Dems ever get back in power again (hint 2026 midterms) their money laundring trough will be filled at the demise of this county and the US citizen. As for the new Green deal, “please” specifically provide valid information and not some hearsy from an opposition gum flapper. Boy when the gong gets a little tough you fair weather so-called supporters go limp like single ply being flushed.
POTUS needs to differentiate between Our Public Monies {OPM}, and credit {debt} issued by a corrupt, money laundering {RICO}, currency manipulating {inflation}, enemy aiding and abetting {Chyna} criminal enterprise known as the…

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but Biden and ilk almost destroyed our Constitutional Republic in 4 years. That stated, like most you seem to forget that we are only 5 months into POTUS Trump’s term. Note you gota lay a solid foundation before you build a functional house and POTUS Trump is still laying the foundation. Heck the money laundering trough monies just recovered by DOGE could fund and expand SS and Medicare benefits for US citizens for decades. Likewise, the impact of the tarrifs with respect to GDP growth and tax cuts which have always result in increased revenue to the federal government to name a few. Bottom line, DJT knows what he’s doing and give him a chance without all the second guessing naysaying cr-p of the politicians who view their position as a career and not as a service. This bill is important for a number of specific important reasons. Otherwise, it just kicking the can down the road and giving the Dems a chance, however slight, to slip in during 2026 and undo everything to grind to a halt If you have learnt one thing at least understand in the hack politician’s mind a lie is considered integrity and honor is having brownie points over the opposition so you can unconditionally crush them.
As it currently stands, millions of Trump’s biggest supporters will likely lose their Medicaid-funded healthcare.
I dare you to call them “limp, fair-weather supporters” once that happens. Let’s see how that works out for you.
Why should Medicaid recipients receive better healthcare than hard working Americans for free?
Medicaid, welfare and the food stamp program have constantly been abused and need to be reigned in with more realist strick standards as they have been used by Democrats for minority and illegals vote buying.
Kinda agree on this……..
They should not but, why is the first thing they cut something that actually benefits some of we the people while overlooking DOGE and corporate welfare? In my mind the last things to be cut should be the stuff that actually benefits the little guy.
Why should club members of the federal reserve be able to get interest free money while hard working Americans have to pay high interest rates?
The “little” guy, or the “illegal” guy (aka, democrat voter)? Until unions are reigned in, the “little guy” wont stand a chance.
Fyi, it is directly the result of the out of control waste, fraud and abuse in ALL welfare systems that requires these very programs be re-calibrated, or done away with alltogether.
The fake news is Not your friend. You are being lied to.
right Allon.
The illegals are a small percentage. The entire medical system needs to be overhauled yet the answer congress gives is toss some of the little guys out. Tell me who do you want to see not get medical treatment when in need? I’d like to see the whole system burnt down and rebuilt into something that gave everyone a shot at very affordable easy to access healthcare. Certainly one that takes better care of the working citizen. The system is FUBAR. Do away with them? So the average worker still has crazy deductibles and high cost insurance. It solves nothing for the little guy. Ask yourself what happened to Doctors making house calls or having a private practice not affiliated with a hospital? Those answers are a good place to start.
Sonny, you really need to take some compressed air and blow that wad of stupidity lint out your other ear. You appear to not know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid. Medicare benefits is a component of Social Security and is accured via a person’s tenure of employment. Medicaid, food stamps and welfare has been abused and used to buy votes principally by the Democrats. Sorry but perhaps you really need to view demographics before you madke a baseless statement.
Actually, Medicaid is jointly run by the feds and the individual states and, depending on the state, includes free or subsidized health care. In NJ it is very good health care, you would be surprised how much you can earn and still receive it (esp. if you have a large family) and it is frequently abused – entire communities are set up to do so.
Open up your eyes.
If you think this is only going to impact folks in Blue states – or Blue voters – you are gravely mistaken.
The bill will remove 1.4 MILLION illegal immigrants on MEDICAID and implement work requirements for able-bodied low income Americans. The bill will help SAVE Medicaid for AMERICANS who actually need it while eliminating the massive waste, fraud and abuse now within Medicaid. It appears you have obfuscated Medicare with Medicaid.
When the illegals and able-bodied deadbeats are finally unenrolled and removed from medicaid, and obamacare is decoupled from it there will be more than enough money to support medicaid recipients for decades into the future. Add ‘ignorant’ to the list of “limp, fair weather supporters”.
It is my understanding that Medicaid recipients who are able bodied between the ages of 19 and 39, who have no children are being asked to work 80 hours A MONTH. If they refuse, they will lose the Medicaid. In addition, more recipients just have to fill out paperwork that is required to justify their need for Medicaid, and if they do not file the routine paperwork, they will be cut from the Medicaid rolls. Also illegal immigrants were supposedly cut from the Medicaid rolls.
It’s not like there are going to be cuts willy-nilly to all Medicaid recipients. It is a conservative value to encourage all who are able to work, to work, rather than encourage people to do nothing with their lives and live dependent upon the government.
80 hours a month is part time work. The bill doesn’t ask them to get a full time job. And filling out paperwork doesn’t seem to be too heavy a lift, in order to get health care paid for by the government.
Medicaid was not intended to be health care for all. It was intended for those who are extremely poor and unable to work. Tax payers paying for people to stay on Medicaid for life just because they don’t fill out paperwork doesn’t seem fair to the tax payers. Also able bodied people who cannot or will not work part time in order to receive tax payer supported health care also doesn’t seem fair to the tax payer.
Unless they have serious medical issues, why are 18-39 year olds on Medicaid? Of course this needs to be cut off as does illegals getting Medicaid benefits.
You’re an Ill informed idiot
I don’t have any health insurance. none. I hit the gym, eat well and pray for the best.
Medicaid Medicare isn’t worth diddellley squat.
Not if they aren’t abusing and gaming the system they won’t.
Roger, WilC
We don’t have a REVENUE problem in America, we have one of SPENDING. No “Regular Order” and a big beautiful BILL that does NOTHING to address the issue, we’ve not had a BUDGET since FY 2008, hence our soon to be $50 TRILLION dollar DEBT, we won’t even be able to service it in a decade…….All DJT has to do is call for “Regular Order” in appropriations, the way it’s intended, force the lawmakers to do 12 separate BILLS, get everyone in a room…….Discuss our FISCAL CRISIS, it’s real and we cannot keep doing CR’s…….
When GDP out paces spending the debt/deficit goes down. The implemented economic, increased efficieny, elimination of wasteful spending, tax reduction (note when taxes go down revenue to the government goes up) etc., policies are accomplishing that goal. Now, your budget pontification is great. but the problem are the lawmakers and there is no polite understanding negotiations when we are on the clock to save our Constitutional Republic especialy when our negotiating partners are hell bend on returning this country into a disfunctional totalitarian state with them as the supreme ones. Bottom line is that this bill is needed to avert a default and put an end to these damn continuing resolutions that the old guard GOP plus their paid off underlings and Dems keep giving us. 2026 is coming and we better win that midterm from a legislative point of view and this bill is the way to attain that objective. DJT, if anyone, is the only guy that can do it. That’s what we elected him for. So give him the opportunity to do it. The GOP naysayers have questionable motives since they always whine and complain about such things, but in the long run in the name of decorum and moving forward they always seem to agree and partnership with the enemy across the aisle.
Swell argument. Opposition to out-of-control debt and questioning the President’s penchant for deficit spending is….whining.
AND. If controlling Expenditures leads to more room for a Democrat Admin to carry on spending, then, heck, we might as well spend recklessly too.
Notwithstanding all the good and decent about Trump, you are making a Hillary Clinton argument “I deserve to be a demi-god”.
Pull your head out of your backend. Nice piece of fiction but suggest you update your neurons on the actual policy specifics and outcomes before you drown in your bs.
Rand Paul is working toward the next CR; ‘shut it down’ will be the maneuver to finally get to a REAL budget……..no more CRs!!
It’s been decades since a REAL budget has existed. The time is coming soon for a budget and best of all BALANCING of that budget and the gold standard in place.
History will in deed be made. Offices will be cleared, agencies will be shuttered, waste will be eliminated, and freedom will have footing once again.
‘Shut It Down ‘ will be the beginning of setting the scales to balance; along with economic stability will come judicial, and administrative stability.
God Help US
Getting Our Houses – in DC – in order will lead to individual houses becoming more secure.
Isn’t Rand Paul the very same idiot who recently claimed that it was a MYTH that trade deficits and or surpluses had ANY affect on our economy?
He’s CLUELESS, or (more accurately) thinks WE ARE.
Yes…the same Idiot!
HE LIKES MAKING HEADLINES
Absolutely correct. DJT has the ability to simplify complex things so that even even a dunce can understand the why, how and ultimate cost benefit for doing said action. I guess that makes all the talking heads so opposed to his MAGA actions all just opposition, Democrats, RINO and faux MAGA embeds, talking parrots.
and Jesse Watters called him on it.
Rand Paul isn’t a Republican. None of them are like crying Ron Johnson. He just woke up after all these years. Now, he thinks he can save the present. Good Luck. They are all the same. Do you see the Leftists break and with the Re;publicans. NO period.
Popinjay – a proud, talkative, thoughtless person.
A photo of Rand Paul to illustrate that definition seems about right.
Johnson and fiscal conservatives SHOULD stand up to demand huge cuts in spending. It is a runaway train that will continue speeding up without applying some braking NOW, not years down “kick the can” lane. But will any action that does this have a snowballs chance of passing?
Medicaid cuts opposition by my Senator Hawley surprised me. I read the full context of his arguments, which understandably will hurt a lot of working poor, and that will impact many rural Trump/conservative voters. Should this have been offered to begin with? Probably better left to the states, but here we are. Several other R’s are opposed to these cuts.
I want the R senators to challenge this nation, and the wild spending Dems, to CUT EVERYTHING. President Trump has some good adjustments on areas to cut, but more increases make it difficult. So cut every category by 2% per year for 3 years, then 1% each year for the next 4.
One thing we all learned from the COVID debacle is, the less meds you take and the less doctors you see, the longer you live.
So canceling Medicaid is actually doing you a favor, but then you’re responsibe for your own health.
I’ve ridden my bicycle 255 miles this month, 1300 miles this year, I’m 65 and have not been to a doctor since 2012.
Health is 99% diet and exercise. MAHA.
The Medicaid and Medicare system have become a major component in Federal and State spending. The healthcare system is really the un healthcare system that keeps Americans sick. Add in the franken food and Big Pharma the country is on a suicide mission. I should include the gmo foods and herbicide/pesticide big chemical.
Medicaid is paid for by taxpayers not the recipients. The same taxpayers pay for Medicare that one pays into all their working days and after retirement keeps paying as it doesn’t cover Part B – the Doctor portion. If you dare use it, you find you must meet a deductible and even when that is met what they pay, at least my experience is about 25%. It forces those that can to get a supplemental policy and normally that will cost several thousand annually.
I whole hardily agree take charge of your health and do whatever is necessary to avoid healthcare. Get some exercise outdoors. Eat as much organic as possible. Ultra processed foods with cheap oils, many additives, and lots of toxic sugar is the way to destroy your health.
I am 82 and blessed by God. I see a eye Doctor annually and haven’t seen any other Doctor in at least fifteen years. Just a note ask your Doctor how much training he/she had in their education.? What I have found it is less than one hour. Some wise man said,” Let food be thy medicine”. Quiz: what oath do Doctors supposedly live by? Ironically both the quote about food and the Doctors oath are attributed to Hippocrates.
Signed an educated anti vaxxer.
I agree with what you state. I’m 69 and walk over 2250 miles a year. 7.5 miles a day almost every day. See the doctor once a year. He tells me never go under the knife and he knows better suggesting. A prescription.
The problem with the big beautiful bill is that there has been no information about the plan and way forward after it passes. The budget that will come from the bill is unsustainable. If we go a few more years on its trajectory, we will take the last step off the fiscal cliff. The interest on the debt is around 75% of the annual deficit, and will soon become the largest line item in the budget, leaving no room for other spending, and it is an expense that we get nothing in return for. If we knew there was a step 2 and beyond that will fix the structural issues, it would be easier to accept it, but absent that, it just looks like the same old kick the can down the road move.
There are three possibilities here in terms of the Trump team’s thinking – 1) There is a plan for subsequent steps that reduce spending to sustainable levels. 2) They have no intention to fix the budget imbalance, and are just delaying the inevitable. 3) They are purposefully driving us off the cliff to wipe off the debt and create a new monetary system and basis. Option 3 has two variations – 3a) They are doing it with good intentions. 3b) This is a plan to destroy US hegemony and we are being played. While I think 3b is highly unlikely given Trump’s history, I include it here for completeness.

Option 4.
They know something big is going to happen. They need economy, industry & supply chain functioning long enough to continue preparations and keep people from rioting until complete.
The vaxxed are succumbing to death & disease at high rates.
I think the pole shift & weakening magnetosphere will result in ELE over the next decade.
If people knew what was coming our immoral society would look like Katrina aftermath behavior and people would no longer produce & preparations would stop.
Stephen Miller laid out the case that once again shows Rand Paul is just grandstanding with lolbertarians.

Thank you or that link John. I also thought the Big Bill did not codify the DOGE cuts.
One thing that seems common to the reader comments is an assumption that the goal is getting the deficit and debt under control.
Doing that would collapse the US before the steering powers can reach their end goal*.
And in fact, continuing to grow the debt is one of the mechanisms they are using to steer the US to that goal.
You won’t see them for what they are because they are veiled, manipulating the apparent leadership of the government-corporate complex to execute the Plan. It’s easy because it exploits greed and powerlust overrepresented in the leadership class.
(* The end goal can be guessed by tracing the combined geopolitical trends into the future. It’s not the form of “great” envisioned by MAGA.)
Like that is any surprise Rand? You, Ron Johnson, and the rest of the UniParty Republicans won’t CUT spending, won’t codify the DOGE cuts, won’t acknowledge the $$$ the tariffs have brought in to offset Trump’s Big Bill measures……sigh, it never ends with the lame GOP. And how many of you voted for every omnibus bill under PedoJoe?
I’m of the opinion that Rand Paul basically did a “good job” when it came to the COVID-FAUCI-WUHAN scam that was perpetrated on the USA populace …
BUT: Having known several “Libertarians” over the years, I’ve repeatedly found them devoid of any serious thoughts …
So today? For me; the more Mr. Paul opens his mouth and speaks his “mind” … the less I like or respect him.
So we lose the bill, then the 2026 mid terms, then the nation.
Rand Paul is a narcissist. He’ll vote to raise the debt ceiling, but it has to be structured his special way.
This is his M.O. He makes a principled stand on a principle he invents for the moment.
He has to have the spotlight on himself.
I am tired of all these arrogant politicians. Stop their own agenda, it is all about the we, not about me. The country comes first. And how can they be arrogant when they have allowed us to get into the debt we are in. STFU.
Then fix the broken parts.
This big money grab has been going on through several administrations. Seems none them, including Trump want to stop the flow.
Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill is a slap in the face.
Senator Rand Paul, the do nothing Senator from Kentucky.
He calls out Fauci for years and does nothing to prosecute him.
Bread and circus in DC.
What are the reasons so many senators are opposed.
