President Trump views humanity as individuals worthy of protection from various forms of murder. He has great empathy and sympathy. So therefore these negotiations would revolve around those terms: Neutral state, no Nato, 4 oblasts gain independence and annexation by Russia etc.
Ceasefire is pretty much an “un-negotiable” to Russia (if we hear what Russia has been saying for over 2 years+) unless there is an agreement on conflict’s root causes and a wider security framework in Europe are negotiated.
