“Shark Tank” star and investor Kevin O’Leary says President Trump’s tariffs on China aren’t high enough and calls for a 400% tariff on the country. “It’s time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall.”
O’Leary wants President Trump to go full wolverine. Awesome. WATCH:
Full Segment Below:
My thoughts: Replace the Tech Bro regiment with union Democrats. We were always destined to lose Silicon Valley, lets control the timeline of departure. The self-interest dynamic has now shifted. Ship the Tech Bros to China, then invite Vladimir Putin to a State Dinner.
We are at a very important inflection point. If we are going to face The Big Ugly with China, we cannot afford divided loyalties. We cannot afford conflicted interests.
Pull in the knuckle-draggers, the pipefitters, the hardcore unions and even the sketchy elements of the criminal underground who at least love America more than all else. The core weapons we now need are brutal power, economic nationalism and industrial patriotism.
We are now at the moment when we need Whiskey to replace Soy. It’s time to get mean, brutally, harshly mean. Delicate sensibilities must be dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.
.

Ship Hollywood, the censorship industry (AKA “the media”), and the NBA to China as well.
Speaks THE truth…………there, fixed it for you 😀
Cut off all supply of money to China the stock market if there are companies don’t comply kick them out. Go after all the land that they bought next to military bases and changed the laws and take the land back especially the farmland.
as i said on another thread the state of missouri vs china over the wuhan virus liability, the state won a judgement for something in the billions against china and they did not contest it so missouri is working to seize all the farmland they own and auction it off.and the missouri AG urged other states to do the same thing.sounds good to me,then do the packing plants i know they own most of smithfield foods.
That’s excellent news! I hope they get all the land back.
NYS will never try

A “land conservancy”. Can’t remember the details, only remember it’s a scam used by foundation fronts and NGO’s for rich communists.
I agree. They should not be allowed to purchase property in the US, especially strategically located next to a military base.
Imminent domain comes into play if the govt is averse to nationalization of foreign owned properties.
The Tech Bros still have value, if the President is willing to play the Export License Card. If the Tech Bros go full off-shore they risk every penny of cash and investment they have in the US and China … if he plays that card.
Their value comes in the form of using Export License and Banking Permit Cards as a means to use the Tech Bros and Big Whale Investors in bringing China Inc. to the Table. The US Tech Bros are still China Inc.’s primary source of technology advancement and access to US Banks is still their primary entry point to world capital markets.
I agree, add some rabid Union Blood to the mix but do not be so quick to cut the Tech Bros loose.
One other note on the “squash China Inc.’s heads to the wall” with a 400%+ tariff. This does NOT align with President Trump’s objective of Security AND PEACE by economic means. Placing China Inc. and even the EU into a “nothing to loose” situation is very dangerous and counter to the objectives of the President.
On the International Front …. in 2018 President Trump started the effort to END the Honk Kong Special Region Agreements and he also started the effort to have China Inc. declared as a fully developed nation with respect their IMF Membership.
Yep, the Honk Kong AGREEMENT still exists (go figure) and China Inc. is still categorized by the IMF as a developing nation.
Restart these efforts.
Good call, doc. It appears that China’s fiery recacitrance means they recognize their weak position. They’ve got nothing to counter with but bluster. They will fold. Tech Bros? The more they protest the more it apppears they know the’ve got to bring more production back here. O’Leary makes a good point about 400% China tariff and the Tech Bros.
.What is the EU going to do, threathen USA? With what? They have no military, nothing we can’t do without. They will fold completely without massive help from who? Maybe the Middle East will will make a bid of investment. For almost nothing in value, just for funsies. China needs us a lot more than we need them. Time for the masses to revolt, again.
We cannot take ruthless advantage of their naïvité, no matter how warm-and-fuzzy it might make us feel. To do so would be a Pyrrhic victory. We must change their ways long-term, but we must allow them space and time to do so.
I agree. And, I think that the person who literally “wrote a book” on “the Art of the Deal” instinctively knows that.
One of the points that he makes in that book is that you must consider your opponent’s point-of-view. And you must carve-out space for him. Any negotiation that “benefits only you” will not succeed long-term, and will make enemies that you can’t afford to make. And, you are negotiating for the long term.
He was speaking of high-stakes business. But the same is true – and, “even more so” – in politics. Particularly at this level.
I may be totally wrong (as I so often am) – but I thought America had ‘borrowed’ lots and lots and lots of Yuan.
Has anyone checked out the financial indebtedness to China Inc?
Just wondering, I am, IF the value of the Yuan drops vis a vis the USD, what happens when the debt falls due?
That’s why I think Trump is, in union parlance, just breaking b*lls.
He’s got to do it hard, he’s got to do it fast, and he can’t be all nicey-nicey like some liberal woman getting ready to stab you when you turn your back. That passive-agressive concern monster stuff works for girls and shysters, but Trump is acting like a man amongst men. Putin and Xi have hard, dangerous backgrounds and understand the lingo.
It Trump piffle-wiffles and plays pretend then the Woke commie hyenas and globalist warhawks will be on him, and all of us will be out of time.
“Whiskey to replace soy.” Hmmm… I’m thirsty! 😉
In the news today, Starbucks announces a brand-new line of products . . . 🤡
Funny this guy’s all upset about a godless, communist country with no ethics, morals, or conscience stealing his stuff :}. I mean seriously, these smart guys are this stupid? What did he expect, they would follow the rules ROTFL!!!!!
Meanwhile, On Shark Tank, this same Kevin O’Leary is telling entrepreneurs not to manufacture in the USA and that if they partner with him he will get the manufactured cost down by having it made in China. What a tool this guy is.
He is a pragmatic businessman…it makes financial sense to manufacture in China: until now. Trump is changing the game and industry will adjust.
No, it does NOT make financial sense. To offshore production is the “short view” to garner a few bux in the short term. Offshoring of production sacrifices industrial capacity. Industrial capacity wins wars and similar conflicts. Wars are not won on the basis of “being in the right” or because of having the moral high ground. Study history.
Time is important also. In my experience it took 6 X the amount of time of sampling to approve a product in China before production started. In comparison in USA, it took a 4 – 6 weeks to approve product for production and then to producing in a factory was a matter of weeks domestically.
What are you on about? It doesn’t make financial sense for a businessman to reduce his costs and increase his profits? He makes his decisions based on what will make more money. Trump policy will increase the barriers to off-shoring, and therefore it will make more sense to manufacture here.
Screu financial sense and screu the businessmen who do it.
Screuing over your people’s future and their present so you can make a few more pennies you don’t need is the worst form of treason.
I’ve always liked O’Leary’s seemingly pragmatic approach.
The inexpensive imports benefited American consumers.
The cost of manufacturing things in America is far higher than it is in some other countries, for a number of reasons.
Remember the wage-price spiral of the 1970s, that was broken by cheap imports?
Watch that spiral repeat now in spades.
One factor that is hurting American workers income is that
now approaching 20% of American GDP goes into health care,
paid for either by company health plans, health insurance, or the government.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/184968/us-health-expenditure-as-percent-of-gdp-since-1960/
If health care wasn’t soaking up so much money, workers could receive that money, instead of the healthcare system.
As an example of the problem, recall that in the 1950s the only therapy that (some) people needed was physical therapy.
Now we have a (somehow funded) army of “therapists” performing some ill-defined function, but expecting to be paid for it.
Just an example of the bloat in “health care.”
You totally ignore the fact that labor China Inc. and other locations like India and Vietnam are paid at very low fixed labor rates while their cost of living is subsidized by the governments … China Inc., especially, is a COMMAND driven economy which means costs are CONTROLLED.
When I worked as in EXPAT in the UK, 20 years ago, this was even true in the UK. labor rates were held low via corporate and government allowed subsidies that were NOT taxed.
The China Inc. GDP is EXPORT Driven and not Chinese Consumer driven. China Inc. ensures it’s labor costs on the product production calculus is FIXED at a low rate.
US Goods entering a CONTROLLED environment will always start at a disadvantage because they compete inside China Inc. vs subsidized and price controlled goods. Plus, those US goods are also hit with further tariffs to ensure they are astronomically priced.
When China Inc. SELLS abroad their subsidized FIXED labor rates give them an advantage … and even over other nations with subsidized labor compensation policies because China Inc. either subsidizes at a greater rate or controls costs of living to help keep labor cheap.
Comparing how US Labor Rates, compare to Chinese Labor rates and other subsidy driven labor situations is an apples to oranges comparison. The labor rate issue is one of the practices the President is trying to counter act.
Thank you!!! Its amazing the things so many pretend not to know.
Right now, I have all sorts of companies vying to handle filling my medical prescriptions, & they’re doing it by offering “convenience,” not pricing. There’s got to be a lot of $$ they’re vying for. Nobody’s vying to get my dialysis business yet.
WE’VE LOST OUR COUNTRY.
How did those inexpensive imports benefit American consumers, again?
No, we haven’t. If the President follows through, which he will, it is not even close to lost.
I would love to see 400% tariffs on China.
The tech bros were never MAGA. They just hitched their wagons onto whatever horse was pulling the most influence at the time.
Agreed. Elon showed his cards with his comments on the H1B visas.

O’Leary’s remark about the contribution to the global culture shoud have come with the qualifier that thes came bfore the communist takeover. After that nothing but lies, theft, and muder.
right on. I hate delicate sensibilities.
Good advice from Sundance. PRC can and will get very nasty I think they start by working over other countries who need PRC more than us. Remember, DJT started down this road in 2019 and oops, a dang fake ass virus was delivered to the world by….Xi et al. Working with the nameless, they took out DJT, ushered in mass censorship, and made a butload of cash for the elitists.
We don’t have to lose Silicon Valley but it’s a good bet. The price of friendship with DEMS is going to be steep this time tho.
‘ Pull in (those) who at least love America more than all else. ‘
You mean the America that coerced the majority of it’s citizens to accept an experimental genetic manipulation that was known at the time to be unsafe and ineffective for it’s stated purpose* of “vaccinating” against a virus about as hazardous as seasonal flu?
Without informed consent, which requires full truthful disclosure of risks and absence of coercion?
With mass censorship, propaganda, and heavy suppression of safe effective mitigations of the virus?
(* With an apparent real purpose of mass attrition biowarfare implied by mounting evidence.)
The same America which has started the self-amplifying modRNA shots (Replicons) program, being staged for wide deployment in the West?
https://www.thefocalpoints.com/p/attack-of-the-replicons
THAT America?
The YUGE things being broken by the Bull in The China Shop are YUGE distractions from the biowarfare democide, and the patriot-rousing helps even more by focusing our gaze on ourselves.
That link and info should be sent to the President Trump administration

I do not agree that the tariffs should be raised to that level, and I do not expect them long to remain at today’s level. I am quite sure that China will quickly get the message. They have little choice.
Both Europe and China have structured their economies, not to promote themselves, but instead to rip-off the United States. Of course it was good while it lasted . . .
And, in fairness, the United States structured its economy to favor being ripped off. No one was thinking about the nation – they were only thinking about “capital markets.” But, just look at what happened. (The fairy-tale of “Rumpelstiltskin” comes to mind …)
USA has taken the brutal FU by every country on the true earth, not’s it’s our turn. BRING IT ON!!!!
What’s your “time line” the lefties asks? That question is a total non sequitur asked every minute by the mockingbird douh bags
“My thoughts: Replace the Tech Bro regiment with union Democrats. We were always destined to lose Silicon Valley, lets control the timeline of departure. The self-interest dynamic has now shifted. Ship the Tech Bros to China, then invite Vladimir Putin to a State Dinner.”
This is a very intelligent strategy. The industry in which I work is increasingly realizing that AMERICA FIRST policies BENEFIT ALL AMERICANS. POTUS 47: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONTINUE TO PURSUE TEAMSTERS, IATSE, TEACHER UNION MEMBERS IN AN UNRELENTING QUEST TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT HOW THE DEATH-O-CRATS ARE JUST USING THEM – AND DON’T GIVE AN EFF ABOUT THEM.

If you want insights into how China operated buy and read Red Flag, written by Australian journalist Peter Hartcher. The extreme lenghts China will go to, to infiltrate, subvert, threaten and influence other nation’s interests is truly mind boggling. Red Flag exposes the lengths China went to to subvert Australia’s interests that the general public is barely aware of. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, gold medal Aussie swimmer Mack Horton labelled Chinese swimmer Sun Yang a “drug cheat”. Of course the Chinese were outraged. In the years after those Olympics, Chinese agents targeted Mack Horan and his family back in Melbourne. One can only imagine the hate mail JD Vance is receiving after referring to Chinese peasants! In 2019 when Peter Archer wrote his essay, Australian security services were largely on top of China’s activities, but Archer’s expose is still hair raising. Then, in 2020, after then Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison called for an international enquiry into the cause of Covid 19, China dug the boots in and put high tariffs onto many Australian exports and others were outright banned – wine was hit with a 200% tariff. The Chinese used lots of other dirty tricks too, like ships carrying goods to China were kept waiting for months outside Chinese ports before they could unload. To use an Australian expression, the Chinese are led and controlled by a pack of dangerous mongrels. They can’t be trusted.
Red Flag: Waking Up to China’s Challenge: Quarterly Essay 76 : Hartcher, Peter: Amazon.com.au: Books
Only 15% of China’s exports go to the USA. China won’t break on just tariffs.
China was just named by Canada’s election watchdog for trying to intervene with a propaganda campaign to get Canadians to vote for Mark Carney.
Considering Carney will probably win, China has Canada in its orbit now.
“Considering Carney will probably win, China has Canada in its orbit now.”
Now? Where have you been for the last 15 years.

Add trans-shipment. Add Chinese stock market collapse, PLA disaffection, and population collapse. We don’t want to hurt the Chinese people, crushing the CCP is another matter entirely.
CCP bought control of Canada a decade ago, about the same time they purchased half of capitol hill.
It actually started long before that..after Vancouver 1986 Expo our Province gave away “ False Creek” ( Prime harbour front that is now full of multi million dollar condos.
Hong Kong money that of course was a front for mainland China.
Before that The Bank of British Columbia was sold and became a branch of the HSBC.
That was around 1980
Cheers!
‘ Only 15% of China’s exports go to the USA. China won’t break on just tariffs. ‘
Good point. It seems the USA is more dependent on China than the other way around, but the main issue for the USA is dependency on China for strategic supply – electronic components, pharmaceuticals, other key products, rare earths etc. The volumes alone do not tell the whole story.

If true, and I won’t doubt you, can you explain why China is so pissed off then? Their economy is built on sand and we have propped it up since Clinton. That time is over. Let’s see if they really are who they say they are.
Control the tech bros, they are easily manipulated and scared, ensure they stay loyal by locking 1 asap up for sharing secrets if that is possible.
AI whiskey.
I think it was Admiral Ernest King Who said early in WWII …….when things get tough , you bring in the sons of bitches.
Who was the rectal itch on the left? Yikes! He only knows how to read from the playbook. Repulsive.
Silicon Valley is at it’s core creative. Foreign countries do not have our spirit that is why the H1B Visas are such a ruse. They bring nothing more than math skills. If they had the talent their country would want them. They come to America to copy us.
Silicon Valley would not last one year in China or the EU. There is a spirit there that is stronger than their stupid politics. Silicon Valley is competitive. They think being liberal is trendy and creative…..but they are in it for the money. There is no way that China or any other country can compete. No place else on earth is like America. No people on earth are like Americans. We don’t need special considerations to succeed. We don’t need DEI to trailblaze.
And they all know it.
All Chines nationals should be sent out of every university they inhabit….goodbye.
Kevin O’scare is FOS. You don’t cut off your largest importer of cheap goods. Yes, we want mfg. to return to the USA but there are consumable products that can be made cheaply in China that can’t be made cheaply here and won’t pay high wages to make them.
Get rid of the tech bros and silicon valley and the investors of tech startups? How dumb do you have to be to want to get rid of the one thing in which America excells.
Yeah, make the unions powerful and let them send wages sky high and hamstring mfg innovations that will cut costs like the longshoremen unions are doing to prevent robots from replacing human workers. Kill Ai and the robot future. Instead of government welfare, the unions want corporate welfare. I’ll take the tech bros over the union bosses any day of the week.
We need to unionize all white collar tech workers, deport the scabs, and eliminate dependence on foreign labor.
