“Shark Tank” star and investor Kevin O’Leary says President Trump’s tariffs on China aren’t high enough and calls for a 400% tariff on the country. “It’s time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall.”
O’Leary wants President Trump to go full wolverine. Awesome. WATCH:
Full Segment Below:
My thoughts: Replace the Tech Bro regiment with union Democrats. We were always destined to lose Silicon Valley, lets control the timeline of departure. The self-interest dynamic has now shifted. Ship the Tech Bros to China, then invite Vladimir Putin to a State Dinner.
We are at a very important inflection point. If we are going to face The Big Ugly with China, we cannot afford divided loyalties. We cannot afford conflicted interests.
Pull in the knuckle-draggers, the pipefitters, the hardcore unions and even the sketchy elements of the criminal underground who at least love America more than all else. The core weapons we now need are brutal power, economic nationalism and industrial patriotism.
We are now at the moment when we need Whiskey to replace Soy. It’s time to get mean, brutally, harshly mean. Delicate sensibilities must be dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.
.

Hell Yeah!!
Do it!!
Burn them down and scatter the ashes.
Go Kevin!!!! No more back door i.e. Mexico and Canada manufacturing their cheap plastic crap. They shut down quick didn’t they?
Anyone remember when China was angry because we weren’t cleaning our recyclables good enough?
And we paid a recycling fee to the local globalist waste management company that picks up our trash….for the privilege of recycling our waste to send to chyna to make and send back, overpriced cheap junk for us to buy. Kind of like buying the rope to hang ourselves….all that cheap junk, paid for by “We the People”…chyna did not spend much if anything on their manufacturing, (am guessing as I don’t know how it all ‘works’).
I always had an issue with washing my garbage. And the commie lib environmentalist tree huggers were all in, endorsing the whole thing indirectly, on plastic recycling down to the washing the garbage and wasting precious water.
Make pollution great again/s
Having lived in So. CA for 40 years and practically ALL of that time conserving water because of drought conditions, I always thought “washing garbage” was a stupid idea.
And there was a drought because the Ca Pols emptied the reservoirs and would not build new ones for the increasing populations.
The ones they burn to power factories that make newer bigger shinier more toxic than usual replacement crap for our other, other replacement crap?
I’m fascinated by Kevin’s response. His investments in the Shark Tank relied on cheap Chinese labor for a profit!
Bad link….🤷🏼
Indeed. China needs to be brought down to size, this is how we do it.
Trump should call for a National Rally on the Mall in D.C. That would ice this cake. MAGA RALLIES ARE BEST.
Except…all the crazies will attack and become the star of the show.
Who cares? Ignore the crazies.
They don’t hesitate to become violent or to plant agitators to cause trouble.
Remember the plants among J6 participants? They got away with their skullduggery.
iF DJT called for and promoted a National Rally & five or ten million ordinary law-abiding U.S. citizens showed up, the paid for violence of the Democrat Progressive Communist Left would be in the extreme minority. Here’s hoping President Trump uses his mandated power to display the power of his mandate.
“My thoughts: Replace the Tech Bro regiment with union Democrats. We were always destined to lose Silicon Valley, lets control the timeline of departure. The self-interest dynamic has now shifted. Ship the Tech Bros to China, then invite Vladimir Putin to a State Dinner.”
Yes. YES. YES!!!!!
SV tech bros are indeed, in their hearts, Democrats.
And while you’re at it, send all the Chinese university “students” back home. There are thousands of them. They’re all spies. Every last one of them.
They are not our friends.
He’ll workers, land owners, senator’s wives!
Send them back.
My former Chinese neighbor couldn’t speak a word of English yet he was working at GE as an engineer. I thought at the time, I bet he’s sending any/all info he could back to China.
One day I asked his wife who could speak a little English if they were becoming American citizens, she said “oh no we’re moving back to China.”
He moved his family to a bigger more expensive house. Nice work and pay for spying.
I witnessed something similar. Providing a service but sucking it back + some. Then I saw a reverse. A well educated woman from a upper class family trying to get it all out of China to the US. Like they were trying to immigrate their wealth before the civil war started.
I conversed with them one day about the Olympics, and my travels to Hong Kong. They told me, they were not allowed to go to either. They were not high enough up on the flow chart.
Few years ago when I was student at and worked for one of the Ivys I encountered a Chinese student. Dube had the awful habit coming right up to your face when he spoke. Problem is his breath stank to high heaven. The worst thing I ever smelled. Stepping back did not help either. You stepped back he came forward.
I had no other choice but to send the message by raising one arm to keep him at arm’s length and placing my other hand over my face. It was either that or vomit on him – the vomit would have smelled better!
“Ward off” tai chi style… 🙂
^^^^THIS
This is very important to do and yet who is calling attention to this?
Take note of where the majority of these Chinese University students are.. they are in the Ivy leagues, they are in deep blue states, they are a large part of the problems with the Ivies and the deep blue states!
Like stopping the grift with defunding, we also need to stop it by deporting and shutting down their ability to bring in all these foreign Chinese students that are required to spy on us !!
And while were at it, lets stop the anchor baby birth tourist industry too.
The Ivey’s give a trash education. The chicoms just have not figured that out.
Saw an article a while back that said there are well over a million of them attending U.S. universities, and not just at the Ivies but everywhere. State universities love them because they pay full out-of-state tuition the whole time they are here, unlike out-of-state U.S. citizens who might pay out-of-state tuition for their first semester and then become in-state residents for the rest of the time they are attending.
Same article said a lot more of them are working in the U.S. on H1Bs and other work visas, and many of them are in national security related jobs and industries. There might be 3 to 4 million Chinese citizens legally in the U.S. at any one time altogether.
I have no problem if a Chinese student wants to come to the U.S. to study Shakespeare or music or something of that sort. But they are not doing that. We should not be educating them in professions that help China compete with the U.S. (the STEM fields, medicine, business, etc.). And they should certainly not be working in any of those national security related jobs and industries, or anywhere else that gives them the ability to steal trade secrets and innovation. Most should be sent packing, along with the great many Chinese who were allowed by Biden to enter illegally over the last four years.
Iowa State had a huge problem way back. They outnumbered the American kids in the aerospace and engineering programs.
I’d bet they still have that problem. And it doesn’t mean the university lacks Americans applying for those programs who are qualified and would be successful if admitted. Universities love money and admitting foreign students often means more money flowing in than they would get if they were filling those seats with American students. Don’t be surprised if some of that money hasn’t been coming in courtesy of our own government. Hopefully that is now coming to an end.
Check out the little ChiCommette at UF that ordered street drug samples used to calibrate gas chromatography/mass spectrometry machines under the cover of the University’s Chemistry Program and sent them to ChiCom handlers. This really matters because the State sanctioned drug labs in the Mainland needed a benchmark to see how pure the drugs they make are prior to international shipment!!
Whoa!
sneaky little bastards arent they
They Chinese, they play joke….
Send each of them back with a liberal under each arm!
Problem solved.
Democrats stoop to the murder of innocent human babies for their sick political ideology.
Point: They have no morals or ethical principles and never have.
You cannot reason with or tolerate Satan and his followers. Ever.
But against death penalty for criminals
Because they ARE the criminals. Show me a MAGA voting convict.
“If you’re not living on the edge, then you’re taking up too much space,” Mule Skinner
I have been ‘living on the edge’ for over 30 years.
I want “to be left alone”.
I’ve watched quite a bit of O’leary’s YouTube videos of the past 2 years. But for his belief in global warming (I really don’t think any of them truly believe it but put on a front) he has good ideas. It’s from him I learned there are places that give away energy (think hydroelectric at night, that energy needs to go somewhere).
George Gammon had a video a few years ago where he discussed the period of the late-1800’s with extended deflation. During that period saving money earner you 5ish percent a year (can’t remember the exact number) and you could’ve worked at the equivalent of McDonalds, never got a raise and still have increase purchasing power – that was the period of tariffs!!
Unfortunately, many business folks believe in Global Warming’s wealth transfer more than “saving the planet”, with government subsidies throwing cash on the fire to bring risky technology into the margin. Government regulations are market distortions, and when you control the politicians, you get to control the next big investment opportunity, and cornered before anyone realizes it.
Natural Global warming is real. Why can’t conservatives understand that the earth has been warming since the last ice age when there was no coal burning or SUV’s or people. Even the glaciers melting in modern times is the last vestiges of this natural warming.
Did you know there is an excavation under the arctic permafrost with organic matter, bones, and insects dated 18k years ago? This article has a lot of doom and gloom but nowhere does it talk about pre ice age temperatures. If plants, animals, vegetation and bugs are deposited under the permafrost, doesn’t that prove the earth was warmer in the past than today’s climate that is cool enough to support permafrost?
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/tunnel-beneath-alaska-180974804/
When we admit it, it forces the greeniacs to answer how the ice age ended and admit that the earth naturally should be warmer.
I meant global warming in the sense of “anthropological man” caused, which is a complete hoax.
The earth undergoes long warm, cooling cycles that are beyond the scope of man to “feel” during their life, but for shorter (decades) sun spot cycles that cause warming or cooling depending if it’s abundant sun spots or zero.
They grew grapes in England during the Roman Warming Period.
We should focus on not putting crap in our drinking water and bodies while planning for changes in crop growing – it’s either gonna get longer or shorter, just need a plan for which ever happens.
I would be willing to concede rationally that SOME anthropoligic effects for SOME warming.
the problem I have with the global warming death by heat hysterics?
the science is not certain and has been conjured up with dubious models that are more than just suspect, but proven inadequate to explain what we observe. Most of the “work” involved in making determinations about the effects and the cause of global warming is based on “models”. those same models have generated predictions that are not reproducible to the observations. and I’m not talking about just a little bit. These predictive models are off by whole standards of deviations….in science, you would consider those theories to be statistically flawed and unfounded. You would be compelled to dismiss these theories and then rewrite the thesis. But that never happened. In fact, you rarely ever hear or read about the findings and predictive values from these models anymore. All you hear is the auctioneer trying to sell your horse manure, claiming it’s good science.
that is the problem I have. this stubborn pattern of science that locked itself down to what appeared to be a fairly reasoned theory, but then when applied the data and modeled it out, none of the observations match up. none of them. in science, we would consider this immoral..unethical. the entire POINT of science is to find reproducibility…certainty…that you can prove a theory in observation. But that doesn’t exist in the global warming “community”…quite the opposite. they don’t talk about these flaws anymore. they have decided that if you are against the agenda to save the planet from death by heat, you must be a racist, a misogynist, a mouth breathing embecile who can’t do math, a deplorable basket case.
the other problem I have with anthropolic theories about global warming is the amount of money that has been fraudulently laundered and most of that is tax payers money. trillions upon trillions of dollars in debt thrown into the most dubious companies, that have no produced a single NEW KILOWATT OF ENERGY ? why? where did the money go. again, science is suspiciously quiet about all of that too.
one might just come to the natural logical practical conclusion that it was and continues to be a simple huge scale gambit to defraud the US!!!
I can show the actual numbers for EV cars, using Tesla as a prime example to make my argument. on paper, it does look like a good idea…but not to save planet earth from death by heat…it can never do that. But what it does is quite efficient…but then when you raise the hood and really start learning more about the real cost of these ev vehicles and the consequences to the environment…up to and including charging stations and the increase demand on the electric grid…you get a completely different set of facts that offset the presumed tree hugging ideals. and if you go a little bit further, with the actual cost of ownership IN TOTAL..repairs, maintenance, insurance, etc. you find yourself wondering…on what possible argument could one make that you are actually doing anything at all to save the planet by owning an EV vehicles. it’s not necessarily the science that is the problem…it’s the economic impact…the tree huggers never want to talk about that.
God Bless America
I go back to the Roman Warming Period (for any Dems reading here that’s during the Roman Empire) where it was warmer then than now – did Julius Caesar have a lifted F550 diesel with the def system delete we don’t know about?
re: “the science is not certain”
Look up USCRN versus USHCN … two different ‘climate’ (temperature) measurement networks, one high quality (newer, so limited time frame of operation) WHILE the other is every thermometer that participated in measuring temperature the last 100+ years, with many locations NOW surrounded by parking lots, buildings, runways etc …
GUESS which one is used to make the for human-caused global warming, and the USHCN data has also been MASSAGED by the likes of Thomas Carl of the NWS for various purposes (such as the T O B Time of Observation Bias) and changing the sensor type (LIG mercury thermos vs electronic Thermistor types). Do a deep dive how the ‘adjustments’ have changed throughout the years, too. Can you say ‘thumb on the supermarket weighing scale’?
Everything has been corrupted, and just as medical science, and the soft “social sciences” ALL science has been corrupted, and its nothing new.
Darwins theory is treated as fact, and has never really been allowed to be subjected to legitimate challenge, because it could never survive if it was.
You must study geology of the earth. Big picture always help!
.
Does not ‘global warming/climate concerns’ include the vast amount of PLASTIC GARBAGE that needs to be disposed of in some ‘clean’ manner?
I, too, am concerned about the ever-rising pile of manufactured crap that needs to be thrown out, whether that be ‘trinkets’ that lose function after thirty days, packaging (that can actually cut you) that encases so many products, water bottles — many of which still have a third of the water (or some other liquid?) in them — that have proliferated the world, etc.
Where does all this trash go, and who pays for any clean up for trash that is nor ‘properly’ disposed?
That is my ‘environmental concern’ which overlaps the ‘global warming’ issues.
Can some enterprising company come up with a 3-d printer that uses melted plastic to ‘print out’ basic shelter units?
Will people ever stop buying cases upon cases of ‘bottled’ water, instead of coming up with ways to emit clean drinking water from their taps?
Does any ‘billionaire’ care whether the waterways which are not in the view of their playgrounds, are rife with pollution?
That ‘climate change’ has become a cause that deems politicians ‘right’ or ‘left’ — and not a true representation of what exactly is going on in our environment — is the deficit in thinking ideologically . . .
Definitely the garbage and not the climate. Plastic bottles shouldn’t be in the ocean, and cargo/passenger ships shouldn’t be making the ears of Whales bleed! All of these environmental things can be dealt with, its just that some think they have the God given right to throw trash out of their car windows, and upgrade their plastic phone each year.
“Tech Bros” aren’t tech bros. They are selected to win by the IC and always have been And it’s not limited to how Facebook rose to the top and took over all others. Microsoft’s monopoly serves the IC because too many different OSes and other things means too much work to hack into foreign and domestic systems world wide. Competition is good for the public but not for government control interests.
CNN wants results now. A mess that’s been created over decades.
Late, great conservative PJ O’Rourke wrote a piece that said, “minorities have made very little progress in the last 15 minutes,” or words to that effect. Believe it was in Republican Party Reptile — learn it, live it, love it.
My goodness! Does CNN get their on-air talent from a group home for the retarded? I’ve never seen such massive mental smallness around a single table – O’Leary excluded of course.
There are none so blind as those who we see on CNN.

Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately.
At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable.
Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

That was a great Judo move. China has exploited more than just the US.
Apparently, the answer to the president’s question is CHYNA!
👍👍
🤣😂🤣😂
Is that one of those ‘turbo bats’?
Invite President Putin to a State Dinner. It’s time for Russia to come in out of the cold. The Cold War is long over.
wouldn’t that be awesome!
repudiate communist chyna, align with modern Russia,
redefine the world’s geopolitical landscape.
that’s a GLOBAL effort i can support 100%.

Trump just issued a 90-day pause on all tariffs, except for those on China.
Anyone want to make a deal?
China’s recalcitrance continues.
Make the pips squeak…
I’m in!! 🇺🇸
President Trump is headed in that direction…
90 day pause on tariffs for countries which didn’t issue reciprocal ones.
Increased tariffs on China to 125%.
Flexibility is his watchword.

It’s my understanding that the Chinese economy is very fragile and it won’t take much to collapse it.
That is my greatest wish. I want to see their economy in total freefall and for it to collapse spectacularly. Any storm it creates globally will be well worth it.
Its not that fragile – it is a police state.
The Commie talking heads on CNN are praying for a recession. They want Trump and America to fail. They will soon be eating crow and crying into their lattes.
I’m hoping they won’t be able to afford crow, and lattes!
Black coffee, lattes will be too expensive on a reduced salary…..
There is no downside to squeezing China like an overripe pimple. Forcing America to find solutions that don’t involve China: good. Causing China to attempt desperation dumping in other markets: good. Weakening China financially (and as a follow on, militarily) : good.
When you strip away the fruity diplomatic language, we’ve been in a Cold War with China for a decade.
Just do it!
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Just remember China manufactures our drugs, and I’m not talking fentanyl! Trump needs to move all pharmaceuticals back to the USA. No other country should be allowed to produce them, and other countries should be doing the same!
.
I would add a caveat:
Only pharmaceuticals that have been thoroughly tested and deemed effective (by MAHA adherents) should be allowed to be produced and, if necessary, prescribed in this country.
It’s going to be happening soon. There are reports that he’s going to be slapping tariffs on drug production soon to encourage them to reshore.
I like O’Leary.
I was speaking to a small business owner today who I’ve known most of my life (played little league with him). He is skeptical of tarriffs. I respect him a lot, and try to patronize him when I can. But he’s hung up on the Ramaswamy ‘the American worker is a lazy bum’ mentality. People like this don’t understand the fundamental difference between the US and the rest of the world. It isn’t work ethic. Russians have work ethic. Chinese have work ethic. But their governments allow them no liberty, no room for innovation. America epitomizes the adage “Work smarter, not harder”. If you reduce any people to a hardscrabble existence, they will find an admirable work ethic. Their stomachs demand it. But the smartest people in Russia and China will never be given the freedom to create a Menlo Park lab. I’ve listened to Elon talk about how America must survive. It can’t go down because of this. I hope he and the ‘Tech Bros’ keeps the larger picture in mind. It seems doing business in China has taught Tim Cook a good lesson. He may not be sold on the US yet, but he wants to get the heck out of there.
Exactly right about Apple. If President Trump keeps up the pressure, they will see the writing on the wall. This applies to all companies. They’ll have no choice but to leave China. We have an opportunity to cause an unmitigated collapse of their entire economy. It may even disrupt their power structure.
Is their only defense.
Ya think Kevin should be telling Canada, his country, how to handle tarrifs? Kevin, why not a US citizen yet?
LFG!
I love Kevin!!!! He tells it like it is.
Listen to the harpie in the background defending the chicoms.
Let us never forget the world got covid compliments of chyna.
What is China tariffs on USA now?
84% as of this morning………
I don’t buy China’s crap anyway. GO MAGA GO!!
Cheap Chinese Chit…
I wonder about stuff already in warehouses…wondering how long it will take pre tariff ‘inventories’ to be reduced or sold?
One thing that’s interesting about the pause…China must be absolutely seething right now. It doesn’t apply to them, and they’re getting ostracized. Couldn’t happen to a nicer country.
Now we need some other countries to also slap big tariffs on China. If I was in charge, I would include this requirement in my negotiations.
I love that idea. Most of the European countries are wimps, unfortunately. They only talk tough to the United States. When it involves their fellow communists, they’re nice as pie.
.
I’m confused about the Tech Bros. part. Don’t we want to be the world’s top producer of technology? Don’t we want them here? Why would we want them to move to China, Ireland, India…?
Someone PLEASE explain.
.
In my view by the nature of what they do, they’re globalists.
.
Yes they are, as are a lot of other industries. Why wouldn’t we want them here?
.
It’s not a matter of wanting them here.
They don’t want America to place restrictions on their activity. America first is anathema to big tech.
If America ceased to be a sovereign nation it wouldn’t impact the tech industry.
On the other hand, if the USA as the consumer capital of the world descended into oblivion, who would buy the goods of manufacturing industries that produce everything else tangible?
The tech industry wants to unleash AI without restriction on the US and the world.
Even President Trump and VP Vance want to be on top of this innovation, because ‘somebody’s going to do it’ better the US than China.
It’s dangerous and uncontrollable potential to take over human decision making and lead to extinction of humanity is real, although further down the road in the course of development.
.
I don’t understand. The technology is going to be developed, and it can be sold to the government at any time. Why wouldn’t we want to be in control of these companies, have them stationed here?
.
.
Much of that technology has military and national security use and implications Do you think it’s a good idea to let it be developed elsewhere, rather than having these industries entrenched in the U.S. and at least somewhat beholden to us?
I am still confused.
.
I see your point but it brings the mark of the beast that much closer.
It’s a frightening realization to those who understand this is a battle between good and evil.
You are not confused, you are playing a part in the script you have written.
Yes, the military applications are key, but we need to lead in all tech. We don’t have a choice if we want to survive.
The problem with tech people is they are lefties, and particularly in the sense of seeing their products (manufacture and sales) as global. Those two things cause them to think “one world.” But they don’t realize countries have agendas.
They also don’t realize that our great civilization gave the base from which technology grew. And our country as compared to many treasures innovation and the common man — or used to but now will again — and that is the perspective we need to control technology so it serves people. The problem is the current crop of tech people don’t appreciate what America has given them. They are punks as compared to wise men.
We must keep and compete in tech, but we need leaders after President Trump who will manage it so that it serves we the people and that we don’t become controlled slaves.
I don’t know if Vance is that person, but I don’t think we can re!y on just one person. We must grow awareness that we must have tech and that it must be managed for the good. Then we need tech leaders who are not punks. I think Secretary Burghum could be one of them. I don’t know about Apple. Cook seems to chase money above all else and we don’t even want to say the name Gates.
At the same time we grow tech, we need to grow patriotism and love for what America stands for and not let the globullusts try to take us over again.
We must have tech but fight against tech paired with globalism.
the four other losers on that panel have zero comprehension of what Mr. Wonderful is saying…their dumb expressions show it’s going right over their pea-brained heads. I love it! We can all do with cheap crap made in China for the next 6 months.
“Pull in the knuckle-draggers, the pipefitters, the hardcore unions and even the sketchy elements of the criminal underground who at least love America more than all else.”
I like how Sundance is thinking….and I think Trump is already partly down that path, probably hearing howls of objection by the blue bloods who infest so much of the GOPe “upper crust”
I’d like to say that most all my fellow union pipefitters, particularly the younger ones, voted for PDJT the last three elections. The International, though, follows what the AFL-CIO says, and its DEI, ESG, Leftist garbage. MAGA fitters don’t back down!
❤️👍👍😎
It’s all coming to a head. SD and Kevin are right! Thank you SD for cutting through the “Be Nice” talk and for cutting to the chase… “It’s now or never”. (Thank you Elvis!) We’ve got China’s emperor exposed and he has no clothes!!!
“Pull in the knuckle-draggers, the pipefitters, the hardcore unions and even the sketchy elements of the criminal underground who at least love America more than all else. The core weapons we now need are brutal power, economic nationalism and industrial patriotism.”
and even the sketchy elements of the criminal underground who at least love America more than all else.
Isn’t this exactly what Kash Patel just tried to do with the promotion of Steve Jensen and people on our side are going nutty over it.
I agree with Kevin on a drastic move to put China in its place. 400% May as well be 2000% because what either result in is NO TRADE with China until they seriously come to the table for the first time ever.
However, I completely disagree with Sundance on “send the tech bros to China”. Yes, we need to bring back American excellence in international trade in as fair a way as possible. Yes, we need to onshore all economic sectors that we require for defense purposes. Yes we need to fight other countries, especially China right now, wherever and whenever they attempt to make trade one-sided.
But if we throw tech to the Chinese and they end up leading in AI, robotics, self-driving, cutting edge defense and military, etc, we shot ourselves in the foot with a nuke.
Amen. China is not and never will be our ally. The best possible outcome is some semblance of equilibrium.
“Ship the Tech Bros to China, then invite Vladimir Putin to a State Dinner.”
I am all in for that.
(insert “splody heads” movie clip here)
I was hoping President Putin would have attended the joint session.
Union Democrat voters aren’t crazy about trans shit, murdering babies, or illegal aliens. Their natural home is the MAGA party now that Rs aren’t focused on hollowing out our economy.

The dumbazz woman in the middle of that coffee klatch on CNN was all worried about consumerism and the impact the 400% would have on them. She doesn’t realize that consumers always have alternatives and they also can refrain from purchases of goods absent any emergency need.. And anyway, God forgive our shortsighted stupidity if we have emergencies that require products ONLY made in Communist China…
Right? Consumerism is so 1990’s….
We can get by without cheap crap from China. The thought of sales slowing down on Amazon and Jeff Bezos having to tighten his belt gives me just the tiniest bit of satisfaction. These billionaires have benefitted by these unbalanced trade deals for how long? Now their Mockingbird Media is trying to scare everyone and have the USA back down. I’m 1,000 behind our President who is the ONLY one for the past 50 years with the cajones to get this done.
Do the rest of you despise having to do business with liars & cheats as much as I do?
End it now…..
CCP always has a fall back position…WAR!
They won’t have any significant allies if they choose to go on military offense. The world will condemn them and cut them off from almost all trade. Even Russia will distance themselves from Xi.
I like the idea of inviting Vladimir Putin to a state dinner, actually.
Cuban is going to wet his panties.
You’re talking dirty to me now, SD!!! Let’s do this!!!

Ugh. I tried to listen to the full segment. The CNN ‘analysts’ are truly painful to listen to. When they started speaking about how the American people are against these tariffs, by virtue of ‘all the demonstrations’ of the past weekend….yes, demonstrations that are paid for and funded, professionally made signs, and people, who when confronted with a microphone, have absolutely no idea as to what they are ‘protesting’.
Same here. The DEI hires that can’t express a cognitive thought are a reflection of the network. A little off topic but maybe not, when MAHA makes it illegal to advertise big pharma, we’ll see real journalism again. I want to see DOGE audit what BP has spent with the usual media suspects, including FOX.
> We were always destined to lose Silicon Valley
Nah, we need it all. All forms of industry. Minerals, steel, chips, everything.
Texas Instruments in Silicon Gulch enters the chat …

Selling us out for money.
I think he meant lose them as a member of the team, not forfeit the industry to another country.
im curious if Sundance has heard about the supposed huge loss in population in china, from 1.4 billion to maybe 500 million
Wow, where did you hear that??
Many Chinese seem to be coming to Washington State as illegal immigrants.
Ha!
Ha, and her sister, Hu, too.
The rest are in Canada.
The Vanishing Billion: Exposing China’s Population Myth
It’s the result of the one child policy from years ago. And how children support parents in old age. So now husband and wife support 4 grandparents and one child.
From years ago I believe is about fifty now. I am thinking 1979 without looking?
It is not so much a loss as it is a decline in rate of population growth.
For years, China Inc. sought to control population growth BY GENDER and in TOTAL via limiting the number of children by gender families were ALLOWED to produce.
This has had allot bad impacts on the population of China Inc. in general.
First: bad impact on rate of growth, which is negative (at least as reported)
Second: people leaving China Inc. (i.e. the growth in number of immigrants legal and illegal globally)
Third: there is an imbalance in gender populations.
Fourth: this may not have a large impact but there have been pogroms vs various minorities and religious groups.
All totaled, the population as reported has declined. (We think … since nobody really knows if the reports are true or not)
The practice has also built an “army” of young men without commitments to wives and children.
Absolutely. The two nations with the highest population also have a surplus of unattached young men, with no realistic possibility of marriage. They also happen to hate each other and share a contested border.
By gender was the unintended consequence of limiting families to one child.
Couples preferred that single child to be strong enough to care for them in old age.
So they “selected for” males.
Many girl babies in China were left on orphanage doorsteps. Many Americans adopted abandoned Chinese babies. Have you ever seen an American family with an adopted Chinese SON? Me neither.
Many female babies were killed.
Had a friend who did her MD residency in China. Abortion was part of the job. She is as woke as they come. She said it was horrible.
Yes. This is true, but it is not a some complete disaster for the Chinese people. The non-natal and anti-natal weeding themselves out of the gene pool is only a problem if one is stupid enough (merchant-run profit-ube-alles West, looking at you) to try to maintain population levels with immigration of unassimilable foreigners. EVERYONE is going through this process, except the most primitive societies where women simply have no agency. (Afghanistan, for example)
The Chinese will still have far more than enough people to defend their land and maintain their civilization. Moreover, when their population stabilizes they will have twice as much resources, akin to the flowering of European civilization after we suffered similar population drops from the Black Death.
The solution is not to import foreigners, but to restructure your civilization so that family formation is more affordable FOR YOUR PEOPLE IN YOUR PEOPLE’S LAND. If you country is run by transnational trash-clown merchants, then you are screwed because they care more about money than people (which they see as yet another fungible economic commodity). That means to survive merchant rule must end, which means the system of legalized bribery that merchants use to rule over fake democracy needs to end.
Well said, sir!
One of those comments that left me standing up and cheering.
It hit so many high notes. Standing ovation!
Socialism with social-credit characteristics.
The Cuomos should look into the elder care business.

Two popular China observation podcasters and a number of demographic projection studies are guessing between 900 million and 500 million. A salt consumption sales study speaks to 200 million decline since 2020. China seems to have lost heavily during covid and heavily to migration. Problem is exacerbated by cultural marriage issue and the rural/urban divide. “Left over women” is a thing. Not familiar with demographics, just seeing a trend on you tube.
Thank you pinot noir, I really appreciate the detail.
