If your mobile device is not WEA-compatible or was turned on or on ‘airplane’ mode, you likely would not receive an alert. You also must have been within range of an active cell tower, and on a network where the wireless provider participates in WEA to receive the test message.

All you had to do was place your cell phone on airplane mode. No input or output from wifi, cellular or bluetooth. Although this was a Presidential notification still turned off all government notifications in the OS settings. Airplane mode deep-sixed everything else including Biden. In the aftermath everything works and no additions of subtractions to any content of phone or computer.
I just wrapped my cell in aluminum foil and the damn thing vibrated right through it.
I unplugged the TV and Wifi.
It was still connected to your cellular providers network. Either turning it off or airplane mode were the only viable options.
If you really wanted to go dark, you needed a shield wallet for your phone. Turned off and placed inside…no waves of any kind can penetrate.
Microwave oven does the same thing…faraday cage. Just dont turn it on.
Not sure how to break this to you – there’s back doors in EVERY device. They can break in, turn on your wifi and for that matter likely have technology that can hack OTA…

I put my phone on airplane mode, powered off, wrapped it in several layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil, then put it in a tin box. From 2 to 4 pm.
Didn’t notice a TV alert, but it turned off for 5-10 minutes, then turned itself back on.
My schizophrenic friend said he doesn’t need to be on meds if “normal” people like me are doing stuff like this. 😆

What’s with this aluminum foil and tin box nonsense. If the phone is turned off or in airplane mode that is all that is needed. In those states the phone can’t transmit or receive any information because it’s not connected to any network
Hi WC – FYI , I turned my phone off. Still got the msg, so off didn’t work for me. Didn’t think about using airplane mode at the time. Did airplane mode work for anyone? Got a Faraday bag coming.

Turned off computer and pulled the charging plug from it. Pulled plug for the router from the wall outlet.
Put cellphone in airplane mode. Always have all goog features turned off, but doubled checked that they were.
Put cellphone in Farady bag after turning off and did not fire everything back up until late afternoon.
According to research I did, there is maybe an outside chance there “could” be another ALERT October 11, 2023.

if you checked memory before protecting, you can check memory again afterwards and it will tell you by the amount of memory input. Mine was turned off, put in Faraday bag and stuck in microwave, left alone till 4:25 and Nothing. No turn on no alert for ANYTHING~ All I have to say is better safe than sorry. The test was started before they said it would be. In the Atolls at the beginning of the midnight day was 18 hours ahead of our eastern time. I did some research and decided to be extra paranoid. I got one very early this morning on my cellular. Normally I totally power off every night; except my friend has asked me last week help walk her daughter to school every day for the next year; after dropping her off at my house;since they do not have the school bus going where their new house – much further away is, which also affects the time it takes for her to drive to her new job.
There was no way to get out of it until the “OK” is pressed. At the same time my computer restarted by itself! That is way too fishy!!

Next time I will look to see if I can even access the “delete – screw ’em” I can’t recall if the whole page was just that message with no way to go back if possible to get to it. I did uncheck certain notifications on my phone today. Airplane mode is not viable when I can’t get some important apps to work. Also I have to have the phone on these days in case my friend text or call me if she needs to drop off her daughter earlier.
I had same issue as you with the OK. I’d forgotten to turn ph and wireless router off.
It came through on TV and when I tried to access my phone couldn’t get past the OK. Even tried restarting, but it came up again. Ugh!
It’s the pits. I wish we can check somewhere when the next one will be. I had to have phone on; of all days, Mon when I started helping my friend. Have always for umpteen years shut it down before bed. Router got dicey cranky when shut off because it starts giving problems. One should not have to turn it off if it is secured. As it turned out when the alarm on phone was on and I could not turn it off, my computer with browser on this site at the same time just totally restarted by itself. I’m digging through registry and all directories and files to check if there’s some type of logging or new telemetry/port enabled or disabled to get connected to the right server. I found late last night SSH all of a sudden is blocked. The only way for me to get connected is to bring up the browser or Thunderbird. BTW, SSH is a remote port. Fishy fishy. Ne’er a problem spanning years, with maybe internet down time, but this? I am pissed. No use wishing I could go off grid because my life now is not just me and a little girl depends on me.

We can only try to stay safe (before we are not) by being a few steps ahead; though what the majority have adopted and facilitated much of government control affects all; no matter how careful; and what we decide we will have to be steadfast to go through all the way to the end if we do conform. The law is supposed to work. But increasingly we see justice is two-tiered or non existent.
These alarms are fishy with strange signs of how things should or should not work. For what other than safety purpose if benevolent? Everything smacks of corruption.
There’s a lot of interconnections involved – cable, phone, hardware, software, banks, TV businesses, governments, WEF, global agendas, politics – etc. Too wide, too deep to put together except in a book. I will probably in short form here; miss out many other examples in every stage of government encroaching on citizens everywhere.
In the name of progress, the introductions to living in the modern world of convenience and progress of the early days started with not having to climb stairs, for example. Yet stairs are still required for life threatening emergencies. My parents in the early days of having to use elevators on every floor had to learn how to get on and off without mishap. The memories bring a lot of laughter and imitation of their cries of worries and the ways they managed to get on and off. Then came ATMS. Many did without – still went with their bank book to the nearest bank. The chunky cellphones were convenience. The later ones totally left the older folks lost and the scammer’s easiest prey. Looking back every one didn’t have to worry about being tracked by government.
The initial early surveillance that invaded homes came in the form of laptops, computers with cameras spy on users, TV can hear, record and see what’s within the house, baby crib cameras – all have had incidents of intrusions and even hacked into. Telling folks to put a tape on their spying cameras on laptops and TVs in the early days were met with incredibility as well as some eye-rolling, some snarks and much incomprehension generally; or indifference. Now I keep seeing the images of videos of young folks thrilled now to use their hand to purchase food,access their banks .. the list goes on. They bought into the convenience, safety narratives. Like you won’t have to worry about losing or having your credit card stolen or deal with expiry, etc. This is one of the early starts towards a total enslavement when what’s ‘new’ (pre-planned implementation) become mandates. Not far-fetch .. we see it with Covid mandates in the different forms including forced implementation with loss of jobs for many.
Then not only being online allows the potential hacker and scammer to cheat. Even employees got into getting rich faster than they would working the next umpteen years even with a good pay. No intrusions or tracking by government yet then too.
Now …..
Surveillance – open or stealth have been allowed to be implemented (the people fuel the demand, fall for every convenience true as it is with certain things; while others were forced upon; and making intrusions impossible to prevent or block. Except live totally off the grid somewhere in the woods, no internet (phone or otherwise – an impossibility there too – think emergency, contacts with doctors, family – gone the days when growing without phone, TV or internet are FORGOTTEN as wasn’t inconvenient, or even necessary. They were luxuries affordable only for the ‘rich’ – the small business owner was the towkay.
I can go off grid without phone, internet, TV. Walk or take the bus. Do without Uber. Where to live owning even a small cabin is the impossibility.

If they are going to sneak something onto your phone they will do it silently with no pre-notification at a time you are least likely to be paying attention… But if they are going to sneak something ELSE by the entire country they just might stage a big distraction that will cause 330 million people all to stop everything and look at their phone screens at the same time all across the country.

This alert is a tacit admission on their part that they have complete access to your phone. The only thing they’re still hiding is that you cannot reliably turn your phone off. They can remote program the firmware on the fly to do whatever they want, and they can turn the phone on with no signs of it being on.
The Intel Management Engine in most computers is a top-secret branch of the company. You must pass rigorous background checks to work there, for a reason. And no doubt the other chip makers have their equivalent programs. The government plays hardball and demands they play along.

Do not use any apps on your cell phone except the ones you have to use to have a telephone because all of the other apps are designed to go away with much more information than you will ever get from them. etc,etc,etc,etc.

Well my Verizon cell phone got the std EBS message as above. My weather radio, computer, Smart TV, laptop, tablet and Samsung refrigerator with the tablet in the door and the TV tuned into Roku my streaming source (never watch networks) – NOTHING.
What’s more concerning for me is “Why are we running an alert “test” on the same day Russia is running an alert “test”. That brings a whole new level of concern over nefarious intentions of our govt.

The test is supposed to take place every three years, according to statute. I do not recall the test in 2021 but I do recall receiving the Presidential alert in 2018 (Trump Time). Why October 4th? It seems that there was another country that was also scheduled to run a test of their version of the Emergency Broadcast System… That country was Russia. 🤔

I was watching a taped show on TV, when ALL OF A SUDDEN, the show stopped, TV went to channel it was on, and the screen froze….at 2:20 exactly. I had to unplug and reboot to finish watching the show FEMA interrupted.
And the very reason I turned my phone off and put it in the microwave. I DO NOT trust my government for any reason now.
