The White House purposefully found the one couple that could make frail and feeble Biden appear healthy? Or is this unmasked giants meeting with frail mini-people?
Whatever the reason, Joe Biden is following the Jimmy Carter economic model for inflation; so perhaps they were talking about the best way to do the exact wrong thing for the U.S. economy.
This picture looks so out of wack from a perspective point of view it’s just plain weird. Jimmy and his wife look like they’re from the land of the munckins. Plus from a comparison of the head sizes it almost loooks like something was superimposed given that Mrs. Carter looks like she’d be about 4 feet tall if she stood up.

looks to me like a very short focal length wide-angle lens … not a fisheye, but just above that, maybe a 20 mm or 15 mm
It has the effect of enlarging anything that’s forward in the scene and reducing things that are farther back
Joe and Nurse Joe are forward of the Carters. They’re larger
Jimmy’s shoes are even farther forward. They appear gigantic
Short lenses also introduce curvature
The right side of the big painting on the wall is close to vertical in the photo. All vertical edges to the right are slanted up and to the right, all vertical edges to the left are slanted up and to the left. Both increasingly so the farther they are from the center of the scene.
There are also fancier lenses that can further adjust foreground vs background perspectives. I believe they can be used in photo printing, so they need not be the lens that took the photo

I’m guessing this is a real photo just extremely close. That is why the perspective is totally skewed. Why? The photographer apparently had to get real real close. Why? What didn’t they want you to see? Even a foot further back would have helped immensely. There is something they didn’t want to show.

I was 18 and politically naïve when I voted for Carter. Two years into my enlistment in the USAF (1978) I found I had been hoodwinked and never voted for another conmunist demoncrat.

Maybe not, upon closer inspection it’s a lens effect which is very bizarre. Why this particular photo was chosen to be published makes no sense.

A photo released by the Carter Center on Monday had people doing a double take as former President Jimmy Carter and first lady Rosalynn Carter appeared tiny sitting next to President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden.
It’s most likely because a wide-angle lens was used in the photo and distorted their sizes to make those closest to the camera look huge and those farther away look smaller.
“Wide-angle lenses get you closer to your subject and fit more of the scene into the frame, but in the frame, objects closest to you and on the outer edges begin to warp,” TODAY senior studio photographer Nathan Congleton said.
Congleton also noted that it can be difficult for a photographer when not having a wide enough lens for a group shot like the one of the presidents and their wives.

Why would the man who wears a mask while on a video conference not wear a mask (or social distance) in the company of two old, frail people with serious comorbidities?

Tilt/Shift lense? Used typically to correct perspective when photographing architecture. Exagerated tilting the lens focal plane (as a technique) results in images with distorted perspective.
Today the Carters could still beat the Bidens if they played Jeapordy.

I defer to the more knowledgeable people on here about lenses and photoshopping but still it doesn’t make sense to me why if it’s just the lens or the position of the photographer, the complete entirety of jill’s body and dress would be huge sitting right next to a chair and ex president who were entirely and completely Lilliputian. And same goes for the other side. It seems to me if it was the lens the part of Jill or joe closest to the Carter’s would also be somewhat smaller. Also, I can’t get over the in appropriate clothing on Roselynn. And I regularly am around people in their 90’s and then don’t wear pullover tops because it is hard to pull it over their heads.
Clearly a photoshop. And if not, what a hypocrite for NOT wearing a mask.
Everyone take a look at the dent on the floor rug made by the weight of the chair peg on the right side of the photo.
Shouldn’t a much heavier human being such as Joe Biden also make an equally big dent on the floor carpet due to being much heavier in weight than the chair on the right side of the photo?
