The Florida legislature passed SB1028 a bill to protect women’s competitive sports from the infiltration of male transgender athletes. The law states that women and girls must play on the sport teams of the “biological sex” on their birth certificate. Therefore, a transgender girl whose birth certificate denotes her “biological sex” as male, cannot play on a girls’ sports team.
Governor’s Office – “The bill specifies that an athletic team or sport that is designated for females, women, or girls may not be open to students of the male sex, based on the student’s biological sex listed on the student’s official birth certificate at the time of birth. The bill applies the requirements to interscholastic, intercollegiate, intramural, or club athletic teams or sports that are sponsored by a public secondary school, high school, public college, or university institution. The bill provides civil remedies for those who suffer harm by violations of the section of law.” (link)
Despite threats from the NCAA to ban Florida from hosting NCAA championship events, today Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law saying: “Some of these organizations say they’re not going to hold events if you do this, just let me say very clearly, in Florida, we’re going to do what’s right, we will stand up to corporations, they are not going to dictate the policies in this state. We will stand up to groups like the NCAA, who think that they should be able to dictate the policies in different states.”
- Maintains opportunities for female athletes to demonstrate their strength, skills, and athletic abilities and to provide them with opportunities to obtain recognition and accolades, college scholarships, and numerous other long-term benefits that result from participating and competing in athletic endeavors.
- Strengthens educational opportunities for military families by allowing state universities to expand high-quality developmental laboratory schools to serve communities around military installations.
- Paves innovative pathways for students to access industry certification and workforce education by allowing Florida College System and State University System institutions to sponsor charter schools to meet regional workforce demands.
- Empowers students to pursue high-wage STEM professions by expanding access to the Florida Private Student Assistance Program grant award to include full-time certificate-seeking students at an aviation maintenance school.
- Requires each public school to provide parents with information on the role swimming lessons and water safety education plays in saving lives, including free and reduced cost options for swimming lessons and safety courses. (LINK)
Forget “live and let live”. That’s a fantasy.
They want to remove your choice and your voice. To dictate what everyone can say, do and think. To impose their moral depravity and mental illness on others by force and by fraud. “You will be made to care.”
It’s all about CONTROL. They mean to control us. Period.
No. Hell, No.

Made it an Unfair Fight” by Chelsea Mitchell
Good for the Governor!
The issue of gender identity is a very complex one, especially to those with genuine mental issues that should not be minimized or ridiculed. That being said, the whole of society should not be forced to adapt to another’s conflicted mental state.
There are an estimated 700,000 people who identify as transgender … out of a population of over 330,000,000 human beings in the U.S., or 1 out of 740. And not all those who so identify have undergone (or even want to undergo) sexual reassignment surgery. To those who feel that Nature dealt them a cruel hand, sorry about that; you may be in a unique class, but don’t dictate your demands to society. If you want society’s understanding and sympathy, don’t go through life throwing hissy fits and petulant demands that everyone must meet.
There are plenty of humans who have no problem with their sexual identity. Yet not all men or women can be outstanding athletes within their own gender. Some people may be brilliant but just can’t get along with other people and end up taking menial jobs while being identified as anti-social; they just march to the beat of a different drummer. If everybody adopted the seeming theme of the transgender community, demanding everyone submit to their desires, we would not have a society … we would have anarchy.
So good for Florida’s governor in standing up for certain standards. Let’s see the other states follow his lead.
.
Fight this linguistic confusion-sowing by taking back your language. Don’t cater to it and conscientiously excise the transmogrifications that may once have seemed harmless or polite but were deliberate subversion.
People don’t have “genders”.
“Gender” has never properly been a synonym for “sex” because the two words refer to different things.
THINGS have “genders”, PEOPLE don’t have “genders”. People are one of two sexes, or else intersexed.
“Gender” is about the usually artificial or, at best, stereotypical, categorization of certain words, ideas, abilities, and things as being either “feminine” (associated with the female sex), or “masculine” (associated with the male sex). These associations, when arbitrary, were core ideas that once upon a time women’s rights advocates railed against.
People don’t have genders; no one is “cis-gender”. At the point at which it became recognized that no matter how much a person mutilates his or her body, and no matter how a person dresses or behaves or superficially appears, he or she cannot change his or her underlying biological sex, suddenly the talk about “transsexualism” was dropped from the public discourse and in its place was the cynical and politically-motivated rise of “transgenderism” — which apparently requires nothing but proclaiming oneself to be one or the other “gender”, without regard for biology.
And anyway, how does anyone know what it “feels like” to be something or someone else? This is delusional.
“Sex” refers to the biological role that the individual plays in reproduction (or otherwise would play, barring age, injury, or medical issue, or a chromosomal abnormality.)
Ironically, the left — obsessed with all kinds of “identities”, largely artificial or socially-created, such as “race” or “ethnicity” — wants to obscure the one real one.
.
It’s interesting in light of that to recognize that the English language, like Latin, has a perfectly useful neutral gender.
As far as I’m concerned, anyone who does not want to be referred to as a “he” or “she” has only one other option: “it”.
Excellent clarification. Perhaps it’s tied in to people feeling a tad uncomfortable with that three letter word … sex .. and feel safer talking about gender. So no matter how a person identifies, a man in a skirt who hasn’t changed his primary sexual characteristics is still a man in a skirt, no matter how he flowers it up, and he’s a transvestite no matter what obtuse terms he uses.
.
Thank you. Also hpushkin.
Yes, we kind of started using “gender” instead of sex for that reason. And then the rise of “gender studies” or, in the law, theories of “gender-neutrality” (arguably appropriate uses of the term because these studies and law also dealt with “things” — stereotyping, rights, expectations, dress codes, etc.). But we got sloppy, even judges in writing decisions, and legislators writing laws, and started using the words interchangeably.
Years ago, I submitted an article on employment rights to a legal journal and the editor changed my use of the word “sex” to “gender”. She “toned down” what I had intended to be sharper points.
It’s misplaced delicacy. Victorianish.
There is nothing wrong with the word SEX. Let’s use it!
“Identifies” is more made-up B.S.
“I identify as…” is nonsense.
Just more of the complete B.S. that everyone adopts as legit language.
I was really amazed at the “new patient” medical forms I had to fill out recently.
There were 3 boxes under Sex of patient.

World is going to Hell in a handbasket.
No way 700,00, no way…
More like 50,000, if that many
Yep, and probably much less than that, even….the Left lies about this the same as they lie about everything else.
Gov. DeSantis takes another step toward becoming president.
I consider a man, who claims he is a female, competing in female sports is cheating.
It’s not much different than a male who uses steroids & competes in male sports is cheating.
It is cheating but much more. It is meant to deconstruct gender roles in society.
A man who cheats with steroids isn’t trying to force everyone to accept steroid use. In fact, he wants it just for himself.
It’s more akin to this:

I consider “it” a loser.
And I consider our global society a lost and confused and failing one that will lead to global destruction.
When you allow such a small percentage of dysfunctional people the control of the majority, and the majority is too afraid to stand their common sense ground, then we are lost.
I hope he is Trump’s running mate ..
DeSantis On NCAA Threat To Pull Events From States That Protect Girl Sports: ‘To Hell’ With Your ‘Events’

People forget that DeSantis had to run against GILLUM!!! The perverted, disgusting, drug addict, orgy loving Democrat–I guess at the last minute when GIllum was exposed Dems decided not to waste their cheating skills on him.
If women don’t count and can be literally outrun by a biological man, what a botched up land we’ve become! We will not buy into your mental instability! What real man wants to dominate like this? Real men protect women, not become them!
Where are the loud-mouthed feminists on this one? It’s a rhetorical question.
Gov. DeSantis is a Dunedin Falcon. I am a Seminole Warhawk. Other than that I like everything about the man.
Governor DeSantis is married to a strong, Emmy winning woman. His administration is filled with strong, intelligent feminine women who are not ashamed of their femininity. He is the father of 2 young daughters and one son.
Women’s equal rights, education, fairness and respect seem to be his strength. He does not fill appointments to satisfy “quotas”, but to highlight competency, regardless of whether you are male or female.
THAT^^^^^^^ is what I call a fair playing field.
The dingbats you may hear and see in opposition to this common sense approach are mostly from the college towns/cities, or the forever blue SE Florida.
What exactly is the transgender agenda trying to accomplish? Why aren’t women’s rights advocacy groups supporting the legislation Governor DeSantis just signed into law?
WHAT S THEDIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PICTURE OF RON AND A LITTLE GIRL, AND A PICTURE OF BITEME AND A LITTLE GIRL? IN JOE S PIC THE GIRL S FAMILY IS VERY NERVOUS
Bad law. No such thing as trans gendering. The law should read, ” Any person dressing and acting as contrary to their biological sex (determined by medical testing, chromosomes, and physical attributes) shall not be allowed to participate in any sports or activities defined as being exclusively for a particular biological sex that is not the sexof the person wishing to participate.”
Or, more simply, If you dress up as a clown you must participate in the clown show only.
In typically safe republican fashion, the NCAA caves on its threats of suspending events in states that have already passed these bills… And THEN DeSantis safely strides into the conversation with tough sounding words after the battles already been won.
Does anyone else notice this behavior? Because it’s frequent with him.
