After the CBS news program 60 Minutes ran a fraudulent attack against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, accusing him of a pay-to-play scheme for vaccine rollout in Palm Beach County, the DEMOCRAT mayor of the county, Dave Kerner, eviscerates CBS with a statement saying “The reporting was not just based on bad information – it was intentionally false.”
Apparently the mayor of the county attempted to provide clarity to the false accusations of CBS; but the network refused to listen to him because they had a political agenda to broadcast and the truth of what Mayor Kerner could provide was against the interests of the network objective. Mayor Kerner full statement {HERE} and below:
“I watched the 60 Minutes segment on Palm Beach County last night and feel compelled to issue this statement. The reporting was not just based on bad information – it was intentionally false. I know this because I offered to provide my insight into Palm Beach County’s vaccination efforts and 60 Minutes declined. They know that the Governor came to Palm Beach County and met with me and the County Administrator and we asked to expand the state’s partnership with Publix to Palm Beach County. We also discussed our own local plans to expand mass vaccinations centers throughout the county, which the Governor has been incredibly supportive.
We asked and he delivered. They had that information, and they left it out because it kneecaps their narrative.
We have confronted this pandemic for over a year. Our residents, like all Americans, are tired. And the media is making it worse. They are hellbent on dividing us for cheap views and clicks. 60 Minutes should be ashamed.
I thank the Governor for supporting the residents of Palm Beach County. Because of his efforts, working in coordination with Palm Beach County officials, over 275,000 seniors in our county-which is over 75% of the total senior population- have been vaccinated. I am proud of how our county and state leadership have executed on this important mission, and the results speak for themselves.”

Another action item for a real opposition party: libel laws with teeth and defined in plain English with observable standards. This means the whole thing of proving what was in the mind of the media no longer matters.
Beyond that, consider that the 3 major networks and PBS were granted control over the PUBLIC airwaves on the basis of objective neutrality of their programming (let alone their “news”).
Since this has been a total sham for over 60 years, a real opposition party would declare that henceforth, it would demand control over the airwaves in proportion to their percentage vote in the last presidential election. This would put 2 national broadcast channels into the hands of conservatives.
It’s not so much a real opposition party as it is a REAL Supreme Court. They’ve turned wanting to avoid “a chilling effect on a free press” into a license to libel and slander. Then doubled down on it for “public figures”.

Which as I recall wasn’t actually all that long after they lost BIG time to Carol Burnett on a Libel/Slander suit that overturned existing precedent that had essentially made media figures fodder for gossip rags. So a salutary effect instead of chilling one.
The reason the media lies is because they know they can get away with it. The difference now is that instead of telling subtle lies, they tell blatant lies and dare you to call them out on those lies.

I believe Palm beach County has one of the highest percentage of senior citizens in the country. They had a plan and they implemented it.
I spent the month of January 2020 in Palm Beach County, less a few days to visit DC. The county had set up tents at at John Prince Park for vaccination-by-appointment for the elderly. There were always about 5 police cars there at any given time. I guess they thought they’d gets some geriatric cutting in line and causing a riot. The week before they had the same set up at Phipps Ocean Park along the ocean. I’m sure there were many locations because it is a very large county by area.
It appeared everything went very smoothly and it’s probably the reason the elderly dying from WhuFlu was lower than other states.
60 minutes does hit jobs. It just what they do. Nothing has changed since they blew up automobiles to prove a narrative they were pushing. I can’t believe people still take them seriously.
Still making my way though Solzhenitsyn’s GULAG book (unabridged) and stunned at how we are seeing it all played out again, in real-time! Why has Amazon not banned this book yet. Wait, because it takes an iq more than 60 to read it and they haven’t read it.
The GULAG Archipelago is an incredible book. I have only read parts of it, and am overwhelmed by the horror and tragedy of it all. My favorite chapter is “The Ascent” in Part IV Chapter 1. It describes how Solzhenitsyn psychologically coped with all of the despair, and developed survival skills while avoiding committing evil acts himself.
More Americans should read this book, or at least enough of it to know the evil totalitarian governments are capable of.

Great to read this but the truth of the matter is that THEY (CBS) KNOW that once they put out a character assassination like the one they just did, it’s a done deal, no longer matters what anyone else does it can’t be undone. This is the hard, painful truth.
