As the United States continues its struggle with the pandemic-induced economic recession and a sputtering recovery, the country’s burgeoning debt is not anyone’s top concern these days.
Even deficit hawks are urging a dysfunctional Washington and a chaotic White House to approve another round of badly needed stimulus to the tune of trillions.
“The US federal budget is on an unsustainable path, has been for some time,” Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said this week. But, Powell added, “This is not the time to give priority to those concerns.”
However, when the country eventually pulls out of its current health and economic crises, Americans will be left with a debt hangover.
On Thursday, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that for fiscal year 2020, which ended September 30, the US deficit hit $3.13 trillion — or 15.2% of GDP — thanks to the chasm between what the country spent ($6.55 trillion) and what it took in ($3.42 trillion) for the year.
As a share of the economy, the estimated 2020 deficit is more than triple what the annual deficit was in 2019. And it’s the highest it has been since just after World War II.
Yes. I am very concerned with this multi-trillion dollar spending. I have not heard anyone describe how the additional debt added under this administration can be handled / paid down so that it does not harm my children and grandchildren.
I understood the heavy military budget in 2017/2018, because back then we were looking forward to continuously rising GDP and tax revenues from increasing economic activity.
Unless PDJT has a plan to recoup it from China and Europe in the trade deals… but that seems a stretch given the level of debt we currently have, covid notwithstanding.
I think the President has to identify and take out (with prejudice) the treacherous globalists who are deliberately interfering in the U.S. and other Western economies by using covid to undermine independent national economies where they were strengthening.

Just because someone pulls ads from a market does not mean they are done running there. Often you buy an ad bloc and it runs for a period of time. If you cancel the cancellation starts on a specific date and time. So, up until that date and time, the ads already scheduled and paid to run will run.

The president should “order” Barr to investigate this one document for obstruction of justice. Use the President’s power to implement justice.
Lou Dobbs and many others believe there are millions of voters that are uniformed and misled; indictments before the election would have captured these voters. Shock and Awe of indictments would have captured the attention of these voters.
Release documents will capture some percentage of millions of voters…probably small.
The releasing of documents is also for justice, rule of law, constitution and the American people.

I will never take a vaccine that comes from aborted babies.
They also don’t tell you, most of the vaccines that are developed from fetal tissue are more likely to cause serious reactions. It’s like God doesn’t want us using dead babies, imagine that.
I already knew, but I’m also not worried. Every one of those “serious reactions” (according to the article) consisted of a person running a temperature above 101 degrees. This is an extraordinarily common and highly manageable negative side effect when new medications are being developed. The correct strength and dosage can only be estimated before giving it to thousands of volunteers, to see how they react. Half the trial’s purpose is to determine the effectiveness against the target disease. The other half is to test the safety for people to take it.
So far the only truly significant negative reaction in a Phase 3 trial has been one person in the UK (AstraZeneca, not J&J) experiencing spinal cord inflammation. That’s a lot worse than running a temperature. They’ll have to change the formula. The Johnson & Johnson trial will most probably only need to reduce the dose, unless they determine the fevers were in reaction to a particular specific ingredient in the shots. People often have medication allergies they don’t know they have, never having encountered the ingredient before. That’s why medicines are never offered as “100% risk free”. It’s risk vs. benefit.
It all goes to show why you don’t want to rush vaccine trials. Normal protocol is to continue observation and record data on all trial volunteers for a minimum of two months after they receive their shots, to monitor any later, slow-developing negative reactions.

But for me, today was full of bonus Winnamins, and if you don’t mind, here is why…
On a Covid 19 related extra day off from my regular work, on a whim, I called my college-student daughter who also had the day off of regular classes. A fall break period, nothing related to Covid.
So we met for lunch in Rochester, Minnesota. About half way in between both of us.
What a gorgeous, beautiful day the Lord prepared for us!
A warm sunny, absolutely stunning day to be out and about! The corn and other field crops were in full combining/harvest mode.
Listened to some old country songs on a scratchy AM radio station out of Winona, Minnesota.
For some reason, I felt especially captivated by this anthem from Hank Williams, jr, which played as I was climbing out of the Mississippi Valley a little ways past LaCrosse, Wisonsin.

We met at a ghost town of a food court. The mall itself, still boasting an open JC Penney store, wasn’t much busier.
The face of a lady, plastered on billboards, running for Rochester City Council gave me the creeps…

Anyways, after lunch over all too fast, off to a local Trader Joe’s to resupply her food and snacks stashes.
Then off to a Kwik Trip to replenish the petrochemicals in her car.
Then a bit more chit chat, a quick hug and she hit the road back to her coffee shop work later afternoon.
And this dad headed towards Winona, to take a slightly different route home.

The early October foliage just seemed extra special vibrant and exhilarating as I drove US 14 west to the Great River. Some of the trees and brush seemed almost on fire with the every changing scenery as I contemplated our every changing story.
My son arrived safely at Lackland Air
Force Base a few days ago. He begins basic training and a great new chapter in his life.
I miss him almost as much as I am proud of him.
He is hoping to become a tactical aircraft mechanic. His recruiter dangled the latest shiny object, the F-35 in front of him which he’s interested in, but I also put in a plug for the F-15. Esp. since they are buying many of the newest variant, the F-15EX.
After Winona, I stopped to stretch my legs at a well cared for public viewing site for Lock and Dam Number 7.

Then I intentionally detoured a little more to drive over the Mississippi River on the big blue bridge into LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
All the way thru this region, called the Driftless Area, because the last Glaciers bypassed this whole TriState area, the scenery was just breathtaking. Even on Interstate 90.
And so this day closes.
But I àm convinced God has chosen to given this Nation an over abundance of blessings, natural and man made.
I pray we let His Spirit guide us all the more over these next few weeks.
Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord, the People He had chosen for his inheritance.
