More Dr. Fauci Nonsense: Social Distancing (Lock-down) Will Continue Until New Coronavirus Cases Cease….

….Sometimes within a 24 hour period Fauci will make a statement, then contradict the initial assertion, then attempt to cloud his own conflict with obtuse and wordy explanations…

CTH noted yesterday that Dr. Fauci was once again talking nonsense on a level that is almost incredible; but we needed to see it in the official transcript to be certain.

During the coronavirus briefing on Wednesday April 1st, Dr. Fauci stated -and no media challenged him- that CDC guidelines for “stay-at-home” directives would remain in place until all new cases ceased, & deaths were no longer happening.  This could take years.

[Transcript (emphasis mine)]  – Q Thanks, Mr. President. A question for Dr. Fauci. Looking beyond, when we’re on the other side of this curve, are we looking at living with some sort of social distancing guidelines essentially until there’s treatment or a vaccine? For example, people looking forward to the summer talk about, you know, going to baseball games, going to concerts. We have political conventions over the summer. Are things like that possible or safe without a vaccine or a treatment in place?

DR. FAUCI: Yeah, I think if we get to the part of the curve that Dr. Birx showed yesterday when it goes down to essentially no new cases, no deaths at a period of time, I think it makes sense that you’re going to have to relax social distancing.

The one thing we hopefully would have in place, and I believe we will have in place, is a much more robust system to be able to identify someone who’s infected, isolate them, and then do contact tracing. Because if you have a really good program of containment that prevents you from ever having to get into mitigation — we’re in mitigation right now. That’s what the social and physical distancing is.

The ultimate — the ultimate solution to a virus that might keep coming back would be a vaccine. In fact, I was on the weekly conference call with the WHO-sponsored group of all the health leaders in the world who are dealing with this. And we all came to the agreement that we may have cycling with another season. We’ll be much better prepared. We likely will have interventions. But the ultimate game changer in this will be a vaccine, the same way a vaccine for other diseases, that were scourges in the past, that now we don’t even worry.

THE PRESIDENT: And, Tony, how are they — how are they doing with the vaccines, Tony?

DR. FAUCI: I mean, the vaccine is — is, as I said, it’s on target. We’re still in phase one. There were three doses that we had to test. We’ve been through the first two doses. We’re on the highest dose now.

When we get that data — it’ll take a few months to get the data to feel confident to go to the phase two. And then a few months from now, we’ll be in phase two. And I think we’re right on target for the year to a year and a half. (End Transcript)

Setting aside that Fauci loves him some vaccines… (along with Bill Gates)…  the fact Fauci would advocate for social distancing until new cases of COVID-19 are no longer happening is essentially keeping the country locked down for many months, possibly years.

That is just nuts….  However, that type of over-the-top gibberish is identical to other statements made by Fauci during this crisis which we first noted on March 17th.

There’s been a debate about possible political motives surrounding the panic he has created; the massive economic damage he has inflicted; and the conflicting assertions of National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

CTH identifies the motives as sketchy. He appears to use his position to advance theories and yet position himself to avoid scrutiny.

Sometimes within a 24 hour period Fauci will make a statement, then contradict the initial assertion, then attempt to cloud his own conflict with obtuse and wordy explanations. After watching for several weeks, we called it out HERE.

Perhaps one way to help see through the professional obfuscation, and identify just exactly how political Dr. Fauci is, would be to: compare and contrast Dr. Fauci under President Obama in September 2009 after 3,000 to 4,000 H1N1 deaths in the USA -vs- Dr. Fauci under President Trump in March 2020 after 200 to 300 COVID-19 deaths. WATCH:

.

Now, to better absorb the information…. According to the CDC final estimate of 2009 U.S. H1N1 cases (published in 2011): from April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010 approximately 60.8 million U.S. cases, 274,304 U.S. hospitalizations, and 12,469 U.S. deaths occurred due to H1N1. That’s the empirical data.

After: (1) watching that 2009 video; and (2) comparing the 2009 H1N1 response to the current 2020 COVID-19 response; and (3) reviewing the empirical data; we must admit to ourselves there is a VERY BIG difference. So now, with the baseline established, we look for why such a big difference; and to do that we (4) evaluate the politics:

(LINK)

A few months later:

(LINK)

Now, pause for a moment – reread that again – don’t skip past it. Think about what type of mindset would send such a letter and communication. Apply common sense. Trust your instincts…

Would a person of reasonable disposition send such a letter or email to anyone in their professional network? Would you ever consider writing a letter to your employer, or the family of your employer, declaring your undying love and devotion toward them?

“rarely does a speech bring me to tears”?… “please tell her I love her more than ever”?.. “please tell her that we all love her”… etc.

Seriously…. think about it. If you have ever engaged in a large system, large business, or large network of professionals, how would you react to a person inside that organization who was sending such non-professional communication? What exactly does that say about the emotional stability of such a person?

And this person, right now, with this inherent sensibility, has the most consequential and direct influence over the decision-making for the worlds most powerful nation. Stunning.

Now reconsider:

The concept of “flattening” the virus curve; the presumptive reason for social distancing and shutting down the U.S. economy; is based on a theory to extend the spread of COVID-19 to a lesser incident rate over a longer duration, thereby lessening the burden on the U.S. healthcare system. Hence, ‘flatten’ the spike in infections.

Put another way: “Flattening” means the same number of people eventually contract the virus, only they do so over a longer period of time, and the healthcare system can treat everyone because the numbers do not rise to level where the system is overloaded. In theory that seems to make sense.

However, no-one is asking: what is the current stress level on the healthcare system right now? Where are we in that capacity?… and what is normal capacity level during a high-level flu outbreak?… and Where are we when compared against that baseline?

♦ Remember in 2009 there were over 61 million cases of H1N1, more than 274,000 hospitalizations and 12,469 additional deaths specifically attributed to that strain of flu virus in the U.S. [DATA HERE]

The premise to extend the virus duration in an effort to lower the infection rate and spread the virus over a longer period of time needs to measured against: (a) where the healthcare system is at any given moment; and (b) under traditional high-flu seasons where are we during those historic events.

STRESS LEVEL – The healthcare ‘system’ per se, is expending an awful lot of time on mitigation efforts. As Dr. Birx noted: the current negative test rate for coronavirus among those showing symptoms who are tested is 94 to 98 percent. That means of all the people taking coronavirus tests, 94/98 out of 100 are symptomatic (they are sick) but they are not infected with coronavirus. They are normal flu cases.

Our healthcare “system” is expending an incredible amount of resources on a mitigation effort. According to Dr. Birx and the current U.S. test results, 94 to 98 percent of those mitigation efforts are not engaging with coronavirus. They are dealing with regular flu (perhaps a strong flu).

If you extract the mitigation effort from the overall effort, the current stress level on the healthcare system doesn’t seem to be overwhelming. What is stressing the system is a coronavirus mitigation effort with a rate of 94 to 98 percent testing negative.

Dr. Fauci’s theory is self-fulfilling.

If the viral spread never exceeds the capacity of the healthcare system to deal with it, he can claim success. Look, our flattened curve worked.

However, when contrast against flu outbreaks, no-one knows what the COVID-19 capacity threshold is within the healthcare system. There’s no way to disprove Fauci’s theory.

Given the nature of the baseline for overall U.S. sanitation and hygiene, which is significantly higher than Italy, S-Korea and China; and given the higher standards of food safety (U.S. is the world leader); again significantly higher than Italy, S-Korea and China; and given the nature of the U.S. healthcare system (more capacity per person); is it really a fair comparison to overlay a COVID-19 outbreak, without also overlaying a traditional flu outbreak?

♦ Remember in 2009 there were over 61 million cases of H1N1, more than 274,000 hospitalizations and 12,469 additional deaths specifically attributed to that strain of flu virus in the U.S. [DATA HERE]

We did not shut down the U.S. economy in 2009.  Any theory that cannot be scientifically tested; and is simultaneously self-fulfilling; is, by its nature, a false theory.

This is not to say that Dr. Anthony Fauci is intentionally misleading anyone; however, it is absolutely true that no-one will be able to quantify if trillions of dollars of economic wealth lost; and trillions more in economic activity lost; and trillions more in deficit spending; and that might all be done just to follow the fantastical whims of a doctor who is directing the mitigation of an ordinary flu-virus/season, and appears to be quite full of his own sense of self-importance.

You decide….

I think I already have.  WATCH:

Yeah, it can’t be because those states have residents that are socially distant from their immediate neighbors already…. and living far apart from each other…  No, not that.

According to the Fauci logic every state must be treated under the same directive that applies to a highly dense population like New York City… or something.

Somebody get this guy away from national public policy; he’s destroying the economy, and it looks to me like Dr. Fauci-Mengele is doing it intentionally.

The Fauci/Birx model predicted that on the end of the day April 2, today, the total US deaths would be 5809

The total number of US deaths at midnight today, April 2, EST stands at 5784.

Summarizing: the Fauci/Birx model predicted 5809 total deaths
The actual number turns out to be 5784 total deaths
    Error 25 deaths

So far, the Fauci/Birx model looks damn close to reality.

    So far.

We’ll see as the days go by.

That doesn’t mean their chosen course of action is justified. The flu has killed over 80,000 people this year, and a comparable number every year, and no one has even considered locking down the country over it. There is no rational reason to lock down the country over COVID-19.

I’m thinking if the list flu deaths as influenza B, that would account for the decrease in flu deaths.
But if they list other influenza B deaths as COVID-19, that would make COVID appear more dangerous than flu or pneumonia B.

I think that’s the biggest fallacy in a nutshell. One size fits all, treating the entire country as though we are NYC, we’re not.

In defense of Fauci and company, H1N1 did cause deaths, but didn’t cause the level of intensive care or ventilator needs. Ditto for seasonal flu. I’m not sure how covid-19 compares to H1N1 as far as contagion, but it’s far more contagious than seasonal flu for which there are vaccines and some level of natural immunity. There was even some level of natural immunity for H1N1.

This virus and the handling of it exposes not only the issue with globalism and outsourcing. It shows the issue with central government and one size fits all approaches coming out of DC. It exposes issues with urban density. One by one it exposes vulnerabilities of states and the importance of local elections. Supply chains, my goodness at all the things coming to light.

I think we can all agree that there are areas that are overwhelmed and areas where the impact is negligible. How can the less impacted areas be re-opened AND protected? We all know people will flee to the less impacted open areas and continue the spread. How do we prevent that and get large parts of the country up and running again?

Coming up with a way to do that will in the long run help the severely impacted areas. Because the people in the less impacted areas can get to work making and transporting the things needed in all areas and critical things needed in the hotspots. At the same time our economy will start to get up off its knees.

You do realize that the model is changed each day as new numbers come in. Today’s prediction is a reasonable guess based on yesterday’s deaths.

If you are going to play that game, you must state the date at which the prediction was given. If they were that close to what they predicted a week ago, or two weeks ago or longer than they will have actually earned your regard.

So, have they made it easy for you to actually look up what was being predicted some time ago?

I heard someone, I think the CEO of Johnson and Johnson, a day ago talking about going to trials like now, doing manufacturing simultaneously with the trials. The impression I took away from it was that when the trial is done and FDA approves, they will already have inventory built up ready to ship out that day. Everything is running simultaneously rather than sequentially. My guess is that their internal target is a vaccine widely available October 1 for the next flu season.

You have these guys. And then you have management at 3M that can’t even produce paper face masks. Quite a difference.

The FDA has complete control of the testing portion of vaccine development. It will happen when the FDA says they will let it happen.

Fauci just spews the BS that the FDA feeds him. Sort of a bureaucrat version of works well with fellow bureaucrats. But he has no choice. That is not in his control.

This is one of the Fauci lies that I first found out. They had vaccines developed and tested and distributed in half that amount of time. The CDC brags about it for 2009. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-pandemic-timeline.html I caught part of a CSPAN3 replay of a video preparing people for the ’57-’58 asian flu, and they had a vaccine tested and approved faster than in 2009. https://www.c-span.org/video/?470309-1/the-silent-invader

Fauci would rather lie to the President and the people than point out this change.

He also lied about tests never being developed faster. Same CDC web page brags about the 2009 test being CDC developed and FDA approved for release 13 days after the first case was discovered. Blame the CDC and the FDA for this pandemic’s test kit fiasco. But Fauci’s lies provide cover on this too.

Fauci is just a lying figurehead who is protecting other agencies as they bungle this pandemic.

I fully expect places like Israel to be distributing a fully tested vaccine while we are still in trials. Just like other places had working tests while the CDC and FDA were arrogantly saying that only they could do it right. Most mistakes probably trace back to arrogant Deep State groupthink. Tests, vaccines, cures, groupthink not science rule the day. But they call their groupthink science and they think of us as ignorant rubes.

I am starting to think of Fauci as the Deep State’s Baghdad Bob. But don’t forget that the Deep State is first and foremost a bunch of people trying to rule us. Whoever is President, the Deep State is maneuvering for more control.

Fauci is incoherent because the Deep State is bungling the pandemic. Somehow, and this is widespread in Western countries, they overlaid some version of political correctness upon pandemic efforts. And they thought mitigation was the only thing they could do. The result is horrible. Now they are starting to admit that places like Taiwan, Japan and South Korea were more successful. So Fauci is rambling between what they should have done and what they forced on us.

It’s really quite outrageous that we have this buffoonery about a clinical trial that the FDA locked down to a hospital only trial that is now preventing Physicians from accessing the only tool they had.

PJDT has no representation from General Physicians on his task force and should add Dr Corsi who is assembling a collective of 35,000 Physicians who are now speaking out loudly about the FDA “hospital trial” limiting their ability to prevent people getting in to hospital in the first place. It’s claimed that one person died because they were given Azithromycin only because the Physician was overruled on adding the Hydroxychloroquine as well.

Watch this space…. Dr Corsi is on the move. If you have the time watch the whole hour of this linked video. It tells a whole other angle my favorite part is “beaurocrats never went to med school – let the physicians decide what’s best for their patients”.

I am amazed at PJDT’s masterful leadership so far, he is several steps ahead of everyone, and made the “experts” to put their markers down very publicly and now the final pieces of the puzzle are coming together for “the win”.

Andrew C. McCarthy: “Boot’s attack on West is an effort to defend a surpassingly foolish statement in which Gen. David Petraeus cast Israel as the source of all America’s woes in the Middle East. To his great discredit, the general — in a Clintonesque fashion which, as we shall see, is probably not a coincidence — simultaneously denied making the statement, grudgingly admitted making it while minimizing its significance, and accused West and others of misrepresenting his views. In fact, the general’s critics quoted his words at length, placed them in unmistakable context, and drew from them the same commonsense conclusion drawn by Israel’s gleeful critics — for whom Petraeus is the hero of the moment.”

At the 1.26.00 mark, ONLY LOOK AT TRUMP while continuing to listen to Birx. He has about had it with her and sees she isn’t answering the original question at all and he is not happy. For anyone who thinks Trump is oblivious to what’s happening around him, he’s not, and this was a major ‘tell’. Then she proceeds to admonish all of America for not following the guidelines because of the NYC curve. The curve is the bible! (Notwithstanding the fact that 99% of the mortalities counted/reported have from 1-3 SERIOUS underlying conditions, where most likely the death was attributed to the underlying conditions not CV). Keep watching. Then Trump has about had it with her, interrupts her and CORRECTS HER reminding that much of the nation has a FLATTENED CURVE, they are following the guidelines, and she freaks out! HE KNOWS. I think he is letting this go on to expose to America the fraud and incompetence of the CDC/FDA/NIH, which is on par with the fraud in the DOJ and FBI. After the election, expect to have major policy overhaul on medicine accessibility to the public, overhaul on new medicine testing protocols that are much less bureaucratic but where the testing is just as effective, etc, etc. Fauci and Birx will not be part of this massive overhaul at CDC/FDA/NIH. He may even move Sec’y Ben Carson in to clean this mess up. Mark my words, Trump is taking notes and he is running out of binders.

I agree with the sentiment that we’re being over cautious and trashing the economy and as Sundance notes/implies, “No one gushes over another (especially someone like HRC) as our good Dr. Faust..err Fauci did and should be in charge of anything so consequential as this.

On RedState they give the total cases and total deaths each night. If you plot the growth rate (% number of new cases from previous day), it has held steady at around 14% for the last 4 days so the curve is flattening.

However, as to comparing to H1N1, look at the stats—over 60 million infected and only 274k hospitalized and 12k deaths—this virus is much more violent and deadly than that. We’ve hit 5k in deaths already in 250k cases. Based on current available data (which may not provide the accurate picture) we’d have 1.2 million deaths if 60 million were infected–it’s 100 times more deadly than H1N1 (given current measurements). That’s worthy of concern.

The saddest part is that CV-19 is nothing compared to the powers, principalities, and dark forces that are infecting/influencing our society. What’s truly in the death throes in America now is Integrity. Aside from a mere few, it is absent in politicians, our FBI, our Justice system, our business leaders, the media, our doctors…our entire culture is infected. We watch a Dr. give an update and we’re wondering what’s the ulterior motive–is he invested in a future vaccine and thus discards the effectiveness of the hyrdox-Z-pak cocktail out of greed or is it not a viable solution? Every statement from nearly everyone must be scrutinized for political spin. There are more UFO sightings than sightings of honesty in our media–our so called 4th estate. CV-19 will one day go away and our economy will eventually recover, but once integrity exhales its final breath, our nation is lost.

We don’t have an denominator for an accurate estimate of expected deaths because we don’t know the number of those already infected and have recovered. Remember, this virus could have an extremely high ‘silent attack’ rate. Just over a week ago, Dr.Birx stated that we could only be counting 1 out of 1,000 infections. The Italian head of Civil Safety data collection also stated over a week ago that they were probably only counting 1 out of 640 infections. We could be off by several zeros in actual total number of infections.

California has reported 8,155 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 171 deaths as of Wednesday (April 1), according to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). However, data from Johns Hopkins University show 10,080 cases and 219 deaths in the state as of Thursday (April 2) evening (including a 98 year old woman in San Diego).

So far, labs in the state have tested more than 90,100 people for COVID-19 as of Monday (March 30), according to CDPH. Of the tests conducted, results from 59,100 are pending.

Their numbers for total cases and deaths are laughable. We can only guess at what the real number of deaths are there, and frankly how many sick people they executed to attempt to get the situation under some control.

However the economic impact could be destructive and deadly as well. Trump is kind of boxed in with no great options currently. Which do you believe is more destructive? The virus or the economic impact?

The Chinese government has placed MG Chen Wei in charge of developing a vaccine and managing the COVID-19 mess from the labs in Wuhan – that’s incentive. MG Lei managed the 2003 SARS outbreak in China and an Ebola outbreak in West Africa in, I believe, 2016. The military is in charge of the COVID response in China. They’ve basically been charged with beating the US to a vaccine.

I find it interesting that the SARS virus and the COVID-19 virus both use ACE2 receptors to invade the lungs. There are Chinese researchers who are saying that Asian males have more ACE2 expressing cells in their lungs than Africans (2nd most) and far more than White/Europeans though some Western researchers are saying that’s racist (?) but it may help explain how these viruses get a foothold in China.

The Chinese are saying that their lockdown was so effective that there are not enough new cases to effectively test their new vaccine. They are bypassing the US as they say the US might not be receptive to trying the Chinese vaccine, especially since we announced our own test vaccine just before the Chinese did theirs. The Chinese are looking at England, Spain, Italy, etc, hard hit places with Gweilo genes. Hmmmmm, Chinese military testing a vaccine in Europe on Europeans infected with yet another novel Chinese virus. Makes me think about that bit I posted in passing some time back about the Chinese researcher who published an article on Chinese work on targeting medical treatments to genetic traits on an individual or group of individuals. Just the late hour stoking my paranoia or, as Whoopie would call it, racism.

And 1 Million cases (Actually not the number of sick patients but the number who have tested positive using a test which is NOT specific to Covid-19 but which is positive for ANY coronavirus) now represents 0.000125% of the Global population. So shutting down a $19.39 trillion economy with a population of 330,000,000 and pushing toward a 30% unemployment rate was worth it to keep people safe, as flu deaths ‘surged’ past 4,000 in the United States on Tuesday.

“We find that 294,000 to 518,000 deaths from respiratory causes are associated with influenza each year on average during 2002-2011, So 294,000 to 518,000 deaths from influenza every year. 294,000 dead in a good flu season,518,000 dead in a bad flu season.

IMO this is a concerted attack on Trump’s Presidency, on the Constitution and Bill of Rights and on every US citizen. The C-19 outbreak started late but spread quickly. It’s main target group is the compromised elderly but not exclusively. I have no idea how many total deaths would occur if Covid-19 was unmitigated without a vaccine. All countries instituted severe mitigation efforts–some earlier than others–that seem to have greatly reduced the death toll.

If the various strains of unmitigated seasonal flu had 113,000 deaths when effective vaccines are available for all strains and malaria kills 228,000 when anti viral malaria drugs are available, I suspect the that C-19 DEATHS without mitigation would be a very high number.

Linked a couple of posts up to a similar issue in Italy of underlying cases. If someone was stage 4 cancer or on dialysis or with heart issues etc, counting it solely as a corona death is misleading if it is then put into a projection of hitting the general population in multipliers of how it hit those ofmpoor health and immune compromised.

But they got their projections and there could be new cases which could spread to nursing homes, so let’s put everyone in spaced cages and be given three squares until they say we can have back a version of liberty and the pursuit of happiness they they decree.

That would only work if people with underlying disease didn’t share homes with the healthy folk going about their lives and possibly bringing the virus to them.

From day 1, the general stay in place guideline for nearly everyone made no sense to me. The particularly vulnerable to death from this virus (e.g., the elderly, the obese, those with type 2 diabetes) could have been counseled to self quarantine, and the rest of the country could have carried on as usual without totally destroying the economy. Perhaps, that would have overwhelmed the health care system, though I don’t see how that is proven. Fauci’s disdain for the proven prophylactic effect of chlononoquine and z-pack treatment is also concerning.

We’re only a couple weeks into this, and docs and researchers other than these guys need to be front and center. Can’t help but notice the role of Pence in the task force — and what are the two doing in the same room so often along with so many reporters if pandemic? They can’t go virtual, send in qs, or go at a distance like the chopper pressers?

You know the blue state governors will want to maximize the economic pain even if POTUS calls off the shelter in place guideline on or before May 1. That should be the ultimate tell.

      Here’s an evidently relevant excerpt:

      https://spectator.us/understand-report-figures-covid-deaths/

      2. Why COVID-19 deaths are a substantial over-estimate
Next, what about the deaths? Many UK health spokespersons have been careful to repeatedly say that the numbers quoted in the UK indicate death with the virus, not death due to the virus — this matters. When giving evidence in parliament a few days ago, Prof. Neil Ferguson of Imperial College London said that he now expects fewer than 20,000 COVID-19 deaths in the UK but, importantly, two-thirds of these people would have died anyway. In other words, he suggests that the crude figure for ‘COVID deaths’ is three times higher than the number who have actually been killed by COVID-19. (Even the two-thirds figure is an estimate — it would not surprise me if the real proportion is higher.)

This nuance is crucial — not just in understanding the disease, but for understanding the burden it might place on the health service in coming days. Unfortunately nuance tends to be lost in the numbers quoted from the database being used to track COVID-19: the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center. It has compiled a huge database, with COVID-19 data from all over the world, updated daily — and its figures are used, world over, to track the virus. This data is not standardized and so probably not comparable, yet this important caveat is seldom expressed by the (many) graphs we see. It risks exaggerating the quality of data that we have.

The distinction between dying ‘with’ COVID-19 and dying ‘due to’ COVID-19 is not just splitting hairs. Consider some examples: an 87-year-old woman with dementia in a nursing home; a 79-year-old man with metastatic bladder cancer; a 29-year-old man with leukemia treated with chemotherapy; a 46-year-old woman with motor neurone disease for two years. All develop chest infections and die. All test positive for COVID-19. Yet all were vulnerable to death by chest infection from any infective cause (including the flu). COVID-19 might have been the final straw, but it has not caused their deaths. Consider two more cases: a 75-year-old man with mild heart failure and bronchitis; a 35-year-old woman who was previously fit and well with no known medical conditions. Both contract a chest infection and die, and both test positive for COVID-19. In the first case it is not entirely clear what weight to place on the pre-existing conditions versus the viral infection — to make this judgement would require an expert clinician to examine the case notes. The final case would reasonably be attributed to death caused by COVID-19, assuming it was true that there were no underlying conditions.

It should be noted that there is no international standard method for attributing or recording causes of death. Also, normally, most respiratory deaths never have a specific infective cause recorded, whereas at the moment we can expect all positive COVID-19 results associated with a death to be recorded. Again, this is not splitting hairs. Imagine a population where more and more of us have already had COVID-19, and where every ill and dying patient is tested for the virus. The deaths apparently due to COVID-19, the COVID trajectory, will approach the overall death rate. It would appear that all deaths were caused by COVID-19 — would this be true? No. The severity of the epidemic would be indicated by how many extra deaths (above normal) there were overall.

P Trump’s quick intervention today, after Dr. Birx failed to separate the peaking states with the flat line states, was quite revealing. Dr. Birx’s follow up claim that ½ the expected data had not been submitted to them, it muddied the waters again for total deaths and gave CNN a great sound bite to attack Trump’s Task Force for ineptness.

I suspect POTUS will begin pushing back when he feels it’s the right time. This COVID-19 attack is a serious, highly infectious disease but I’m also convinced there are many bad Dem actors in the mix that can’t be trusted and could be exaggerating stats, hiding equipment and trying to scuttle the Task Force’s efforts. Who knows how far some of the most evil will go.

Suspicions about Dr. Fauci’s motives are reasonable. But, anyone that delivers bad news to a nation every day and instructs a freedom loving, hard working people to stay home and lose their jobs, is not going to be popular or highly trusted for long. Especially if their decisions are based on another scientific model.

As Mark Steyn recently wrote, millions of people are Coronaskeptics because they’ve been fed a steady dose of inaccurate, faulty, “scary” Climate Change models for years by doomsday alarmists. I know when I saw Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci trying to convince, scare or inform people about potential COVID-19 total deaths based on the IHME Model (Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation); it reminded me of the misleading Climate models and added to my skepticism.

  46. Ridiculous. If we had 60,000,000 infections of Chinese flu like we did of swine flu, we wouldnt have 12,000 deaths. We would have over 2,000,000! Once again someone is comparing apples to oranges and Chinese flu to some other flu and saying shame for destroying the economy. Shamefullubits Sundance, one of my favs. I got news for you Sundance, this virus would flatten the economy even more than what has been done for health security if we had done nothing. Worse, everyone would blame Trump for not doing anything, the Republicans were callous, and this Herbert Hoover 2.0 GOP administration and party would go up in flames NEVER EVER to arise again. So, should we release controls just to see? NO! Very disappointed Sundance. First time you have been 100 and 1% WRONG.

P.S. Note, even with these socioeconomic controls we will have 12,000 dead by some point in May. In fact, if we have less than 30,000 it means we are getting somewhere. Meanwhile, we got another NINE months to go and an election. T-H-I-N-K!

If you told me we would be shut down a country because we are suffering from a virus for which we have a minute test andtherapeutic treatments, I would have thought you were around the twist.

Fauci’s numbers are incorrect because he is using a faulty premise. If the virus originated in China in Nov it has been around for 4-5 months. China was blocked from coming here since Feb 2, but was not blocked from other countries. People from these places who may have been infected (by people from China) also could have traveled here. There was no block on them until recently.

It is an almost certainty that this virus made it’s way into the U.S. at a minimum of by Dec. It has gotten to every small and remote area of the globe and would easily get to the most traveled to country. We have been living with this for months and they are operating under the premise that because THEY just started tracking it that the starting point was 3 weeks ago. That is the reason for their assertion that their will be 250K deaths. If we have only had 5800 so far how do we get 244K more? This is a Democrat political scam. Remember China had major protests going on prior to this. Trump needs to fire the Fauci, he’s a deep state political hack no different than Lt Col Vindman!
