New York Mayor Bill deBlasio Announces Immediate Government Suspension of First Amendment…

New York Mayor Bill deBlasio is officially attempting to establish himself as the United States first totalitarian dictator by announcing a revocation of all New York City citizen rights under the first amendment.   A stunning move.

“[Government] shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

In a stunning announcement Mayor deBlasio threatens that all religious services will be forcibly closed by city authorities “permanently” if they do not comply with the established dictates of city government. WATCH:

.

Let us be clear, the government can request, suggest and recommend that faith-based assemblies suspend their services; and in many cases those churches and religious groups may indeed choose to suspend their services. However, under no circumstance, including: war, famine or virus pandemics that could leave only a hand-full of people alive, can the government force the suspension; or punish those who refuse to comply.

Religious worship, including the assembly therein, is enshrined within the first amendment as it carries the first and ultimate essential service. There is absolutely no situation where that right can be removed.

Obviously de Blasio is surrounded by far-left sycophants and members of the totalitarian state. However, there is no legal adviser who would ever inform an official, any official, that they carry the power to supersede the preeminent constitutional right of their citizens.

Worse still is the use of the word “permanently” when de Blasio announces his unconstitutional suspension of rights. The mayor threatens to permanently close buildings?  What kind of mindset would even fathom forcing the permanent closure of houses of worship because they defy unconstitutional dictates from the state?

This decree by the New York mayor should alarm everyone.

Accept the removal of the primary right of U.S. citizens and there is no longer a country for coronavirus to infect.  This is not a slippery slope; this is akin to voluntarily jumping directly into the abyss….

This may seem contrarian; as I am a 200%, dialed up to 11, President Trump supporter (that donates regularly to his campaign), but…

I’d almost prefer he stays out of it (in terms of calling it out).

WE THE PEOPLE cannot just relay on one man to solve all of our problems.

It’s becoming readily apparent that WE THE PEOPLE need to begin standing up and saying enough is enough.

We can’t just keep sitting here, complaining that the man not responsible for all this, is somehow responsible for solving it all.

It’s not his church that has been closed – it’s yours and mine.

WE need to begin pushing back against this abrogation of our rights (not sit and point at the President).

WE are the ones losing the grip of our country. All of us.

I would go to New York with others, even though not a “religion” or religious kind of guy, to defend those rights that are Natural and come from our Natural Creator.

Quick anecdote. I had a week of work in NYC in mid Feb. Wife and I are 60ish and officially immunocompromised in different ways. We love a Vietnamese coffee and dessert place in Koreatown and went there almost every day we were there. Rode subways and trains from Washington Heights to/from FiDi and everything in between. We didn’t get sick bc we practice good hygiene, use masks in particularly risky places, and pray a lot for others each other’s and more’s health. The idea that people, especially younger uncompromised people can’t safely congregate and worship is just wrong. Worse however is the now accepted wisdom that hygiene and other common sense measures can’t stem the tide of this virus—that only a crippling tyrannical lockdown can even moderate its impact. We are in thrall to grotesque obvious lies that we cannot prove false because liars own the data and the media. God bless and lift up VSGPDJT to get the truth out in ways the liars cannot corrupt without revealing themselves. BTW, we came home to another “hot spot” and went to popular restaurants and participated in meetings with dozens of people right up until the shutdown orders. Praise God we’re still AOK and pray that you all and we remain that way!

    Just throwing this out here.
The Bishop of Dallas dispensed the people of the diocese from attending Mass beginning March 15. Many churches remained open for prayer and Confession, as that could be done without a crowd situation developing. I believe all other dioceses in the state have done the same.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was still offered in all churches everyday, but without anyone attending. The important point here is that God was offered worship, not that we were there to participate. (Though, thanks to technology, there are many live-streamed Masses available on the Net.)

This is a hardship, but most people are accepting it as a necessary sacrifice for the present, and offering up their difficulties for the end of the epidemic.

What is the worst is hospitals denying the Last Rites to patients in danger of death. Some refuse this even though priests are willing to follow all protocols. This is spiritual abuse of patients, and adds to the suffering of the patient’s family.

They are some of the most arrogant people on the face of the earth. They are still boasting (jokes on the internet) about how if they had were given 3 extra years to live, they’d want to spend it in NYC.
No one is going to oppose this miserable Communist scumbag of a mayor and he knows it. No resistance No demonstrations Comrade Mayor is going to take this as far down as he can go.

If this doesn’t stop, the President might have to declare martial law on NY City to get them to RESTORE civil liberties.

You know there are many of us who feel like we have lost everything. The Federal bailout money will help us get through the short term. But there is no sign that our liberty and freedom will be restored. None.
When people feel they have nothing to lose, they are most dangerous. We are fast approaching that point. Why aren’t more journalists talking about this? Why is Sundance ALWAYS the first, and often only one to speak out for Liberty and Freedom?

IF it’s really necessary to prevent the spread of the virus (which I’m not convinced of), then it probably makes sense for it to be across the board.

HOWEVER, the difference between that — temporarily telling people they can’t gather in certain ways — is a FAR CRY from threatening to seize or shut down those people’s business (or church) permanently.

I oppose this on a number of grounds, and in fact I oppose a lot of the “thou shalt not gather among thy brethren” edicts, whether it involve churches or other places. But yeah, it’s even worse when it comes to churches. And I really want to know if idiot DeBlasio really meant to say “permanently”. I’m hoping he just misspoke, and meant to say “completely” or something. In other words, we’ll close the whole building for now, if the preacher doesn’t obey our StormTroopers. That’s bad enough, of course. But if idiot really DID mean permanently — well, I don’t know what to say, other than he’s asking for MAJOR trouble if he tries it.

Imho, the last word spoken was the “Iron Fist” and the “ENTIRE” reason for the announcement.
The rest only yada, yada, yada.

We MUST remember California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington state, et al., are taking notes and waiting – for their “Moment in the Spotlight”.

That’s what I’m assuming, something like that… though it being DeBlasio, who knows? Some TDS sufferers really HAVE gone insane. I mean almost textbook definition of “insane”, and I’m not even joking.

I prefer the phrase “mentally deranged. “. Not exactly sure why but think the mental (no pun intended) picture I have when I contemplate that word is more applicable.

    Who will STAND against this?

This entire virus mess is morphing into a different version of King’s “The Stand”…where the sudden virus overwhelms the world but ultimately is a tool of Satan to conquer the populace.

Who is called to STAND against it?

It’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to read articles like this or witness some other nefarious stunt pulled by the left and not fear for where we are headed as a nation.

And this time the differences won’t be settled by quaint weapons such as rifles and cannons but by 21st century tanks and jets.

    Lord, I hope I’m wrong.

I’ll be contrarian, because someone should. . If only to understand the argument. In Korea a religious sect/cult spread this covid19 to great numbers of people. Holed up in their poorly ventilated building, singing, yelling, coughing, spreading by aerosol, passed it to each other and then the public. Deaths were traced to this mtg.

So begs the question: where does right to religious freedom end, and my or other’s right to simply ‘Live’ begin?

In general, the restrictions on the number of people assembling have likely been constitutional as to religious organizations. DeBlasio’s take, on the other hand–no way, for many, many reasons.
