Washington DC Mayor Bowser Closes U.S. Capital Until April 25th…

Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser closes the nation’s capital until April 25th, effectively closing all public gatherings for one month. [Order pdf Here]

There is a certain aspect to dèjá-vu showing up on the horizon… Welcome to an economic civil war. But first, the latest details.

WASHINGTON DC –  The intent of the Order is to temporarily cease all non-essential business activities, including tour guides and touring services; gyms, health clubs, spas, and massage establishments; theaters, auditoriums, and other places of large gatherings; nightclubs; hair, nail, and tanning salons and barbershops; tattoo parlors; sales not involved in essential services; retail clothing stores; and professional services not devoted to assisting essential business operations.

The Order goes into effect on March 25, 2020, at 10 pm, through April 24, 2020 (link)

On the horizon it appears the state and regional shutdowns are going to mirror the shutdowns from Obama’s infamous sequester-fiasco from the spring of 2013.  That looks like the road-map that will be followed as the coronavirus issue starts to level-off.

Blue state governors, mayors and local officials will use the $2 trillion bailout funding scheme to keep their economies shut down as long as possible and inflict as much political damage as possible.  Meanwhile we’ll likely see red state governors, mayors and officials start to reopen their local economies.

The aligned resistance media will criticize the red state decisions, and the blue states will be heralded as more concerned about their citizens.  There will be no pressure on the blue team to reopen because they will be funding themselves from the government trough. Meanwhile the red team that wants to get back to business will find themselves limited if they took any bridge funding from the mechanism within the coronavirus bill.

Alinsky would be proud.

It’s inevitable.

Watch.. you’ll see.

Socially the COVID-19 issues will be used to weaponize, politicize and mitigate any economic recovery attempt for maximum partisan damage.  It will be an economic civil war of sorts, only this time instead of North -vs- South it’s going to be urban -vs- rural and the weapons will be economic manipulation.

Red state supplies will not be permitted to exit blue state areas.  Transit from red to red supply chains will have to travel around blue regions which will be blocked.  In this process the traditional GOP candidate -vs- DEM candidate, and weaknesses of the blue team, will be obfuscated by a national social crisis defined by regional economics and party affiliations.

There are pre-existing models for this.

Spring and summer 2020 political contests will break out exactly like this map below, except the central debate will circle around economics.  The underlying issues will be ideological…

Hopefully when the Blue States start having huge numbers of casualties and they see that their reckless and childish game has backfired. Or maybe their constituents will protest enough to make them back off. It apparently did the trick in getting Nanzi to back off. If not it could easily escalate into a real civil was then peoples’s patience has run out.

How does it end? President Trump vetoes the porkulus bill and convinces the cabin-fevered country it’s time to get back to work now. You see, unlike their lazy socialist counterparts, Americans actually enjoy going to work.

Then he redirects federal funding, formerly sent to sanctuary cities, to help small businesses who demonstrate need, get back on their feet.

    • This pork barrel spending bill ought to have had a condition in it which states no funding for communities or regions on lock down. It is counter productive to fund out of work ppl and closed down businesses, what is the incentive to go back to work if the government will pay you to stay home. It is nothing more than welfare, and we know how that works under the left progressive communists.
Better still, this bill ought to be vetoed by the President. It is not going to help in the way they perhaps first thought. And if it has pork in it, it is little more than an insult to MAGA voters that the left gets their way no matter who is in control of congress.

We do not hear the details of those deaths: ages, pre-existing illness(es), etc.
We do not hear how many have died this year in WI from the seasonal flu/virus strains, AIDS, pneumonia, etc.
There is a huge economic toll from all of this, oh yes.
And consider how all of the children are affected: they cannot play with friends, play on the outdoor equipment in the park, go to the library, go to any attractions like the zoo and museums, play any organized or informal sports…let alone go to school. No Sunday School at church. They cannot see their grandparents.

Random musings on cases, deaths, and shutdowns.

Florida has 1 death and about 800 cases as of this morning. Federal contractors embedded in state agencies were given admin leave b/c they are federal, and freddies got to take a vaycay. Some state employees in one agency were permitted telework, but I and nearly all of my colleagues across state government get up and go to work early each workday. Small businesses that I patronize for farm goods like feed are still open.

Leon County, where the capital is located, has had one death and 16 cases by last I cared to look. You can’t go to a sit-down restaurant. Sports, theaters, and concerts are postponed, schools are shut, universities switched to online classes, some museums and parks are closed, BUT, other than that and being forced to visit my dad through the window of his apartment at the rest home, my life is still the same hectic 9 to 10 hour a day hot mess it always has been at work. Groceries are scarce for some items, but you can still get most things.

I honestly don’t understand the hoopla unless this gets massively more intense. I’ll just keep on working until then.

I think this development is great. Let’s face it, all these Blue areas have been dependent on hand outs for quite some time. The Red areas are more self sufficient and therefore are less dependent on hand outs. It certainly didn’t start with this virus. It’s been ongoing for quite some time but everyone is too busy with their day to day lives to stop and see it in its full scope and magnitude.

What is taking place here is maximum exposure. This pandemic has shut things down. People are not doing their usual keeping their heads down with their nose to the grindstone getting through their usual lives. With everything stopped, they are popping their heads up and looking around. They will be watching closely.

This $2T package and how it’s doled out will be a “freeze frame” snap shot for everyone in the country to see where all the money goes and why.

If the Dem controlled cities and states say they require a vastly larger hand out than other areas, they will be fully exposed drawing sunlight onto themselves while everyone is watching and watching closely.

We’ve seen Fredo’s brother saying “we need more beds, the federal govt didn’t send enough ventilators”. Really? You are the governor of your state. It just happens to be one of the wealthiest states too. Stop complaining about what big daddy federal govt isn’t doing and start worrying about what you are doing. The federal govt is there to provide “back up support” as needed, not run the show. Calling in the federal govt is a sign of failure of governors and mayors at the state and local level.

As I have said before, some call it a backfire. I call it getting soaked with your own hose.

      We’ll see what happens!

I am most ticked with how pathetic the medical community is metastasizing this into nuclear war for their own purposes. All anyone cites to city county or state officials is the doomsday scenario, worst case, maximum carnage that overwhelms their people and facilities. This is used by gutless leaders who don’t want to be tagged with the “we don’t care” label, or the “we care more about dollars than lives” harpoon. Here is SW Florida they are debating going to the common “shelter in place” order for Lee County, where there are 52 confirmed cases and 526 who tested negative. Three deaths. NOTHING ABOUT HOW MANY ARE ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITALS. This is my angst, as such data would help us understand admission rates with potential demand on ICU rooms. Few of these officials want to use reasonable common sense, except our commission chairman, but I fear he will be swept under the tide of “go along with the medical experts”.

Like the reporter at the press briefing today that asked our President “how many deaths are acceptable” by opening up businesses again….what a leftist puke.

What a lot of people don’t know yet is that includes churches so no Palm Sunday and Easter services. When people start to learn of this, there will be a backlash. It is already starting. Businesses are already pushing back against Northram and he is backpedaling. They also closed the schools for the remainder of the year. My prediction is that the people in the blue states are going to get fed up and a huge backlash is brewing hence the Nevada Governor is already backpedaling on his ridiculous ruling yesterday on the drug. Also, New Yorkers are fleeing the state in droves to not adhere to the shutdown.

Sundance has Said there are no coincidences. Someone or organization has to be calling the shots. Remember when Trump 1st got elected and Obuma set up an office building not far from the White House and staffed it with all his top cronies. I just wonder if they are calling the shots. He has 8 years of fisa info on everyone. EVERYONE! Could he ( his group) be telling all these Governors and mayors what they have to do and say? All the MSM use the same phrases and words. Could they also still be blackmailing these people who don’t really want to cooperate? There are lots of crazy things going on around the Country and some body has to be Organizing it.

This Australian vignette is very much on a related note: the Government (Left) of the State of Queensland has now decreed that all non-residents must apply for a Border Pass, or permit, to enter the State. You must pass through a police checkpoint, at which you must produce ‘your papers’.

I think what you say SD has a LOT of merit, but too, the big cities, especially the ones that cater to sports teams and amusement parks and festivals are going to be under immense pressure to get the tax money spigot ( sales taxes) going again. There isn’t relief in the 2 Tr for that as far as I’ve seen and while certain states or counties may want to play the game, the exponential loss of sales taxes, say especially here in Texas, I think, will be what ruins the plan.

Now, no doubt though, the Donks are going to do this extendo-trama thing wherever they think they can. Dallas county has been screeching about shutting down the whole region and their are as blue as Travis cty where Austin is. I’m sure it’s same in Houston. The blue counties ( big urban areas) are looking for yummy Federal monies, no doubt about it. Also the teachers unions will be demanding money, etc.

No, I think Sundance has implied that the blue city mayors actually believe they will be able to suck enough out of the $2T to bridge the revenue gap created by their shutdowns.

What shut-downs? The President has not ordered any shut downs; they have all been ordered by state governors or city mayors.

Tariffs? The USA has been “cleaning up” because of the tariffs. Has your acquaintance NOT seen any of the jobs numbers, the income increases for the working / middle class, the huge reductions in unemployment across all demographics?? Not read about the USMCA, the Japan trade deal, the China Phase 1 trade deal, etc. that were all incentivized by the use of tariffs to balance previously unbalanced equal trade situations that were always unfavorable for the US by billions of dollars per year?

Huawei?? Has your acquaintance not learned about the dangerous security risks discovered with Huawei 5G equipment? That the equipment has backdoors and technology that allows the Chinese Communist Party to spy on and collect information about everyone that uses the 5G network?

Seriously, your acquaintance sounds like they’ve been on another planet for three years.

Too many people think all of this will go away soon and life as we knew it will be back, but I think the left has other plans here. They crave power and the Wuhan virus has given them the hammer to wield that power. People need to rise up and say no more of this.

Here’s the problem with Blue Commie states like NY- we are outnumbered by the disgusting perverted Lib Dem pants wetters who think they’re living in Zombie Apocalypse.

I live in a rural suburb about 40 miles north of NYC. I often go down there on business. I stopped going down about a month ago but have friends and business associates I talk to all the time. None of them are conservatives.

They are all terrified that they’re going to die from the Plague. They are afraid to go to the store or Post Office. They will do ANYTHING Comrade Deblasio tells them. They hate our President Trump and believe the worst about him.

There are millions of these a-holes who will never rebel or resist. They are stuck on that little island. For them, NYC is the ultimate place to live. They don’t know the Freedom that we have- our homes, our property, our cars and our guns.

I have no fear of the Chi Com Flu compared to the mortal terror I have about what the Government is doing to us and our Republic. It looks like the Servants of Satan won’t be satisfied until they destroy everything.

Off topic; I wish I still had the HO scale model train layout and materials that I had as a kid to pass the time during the Death Quarantine 2020. It’s a great past-time that kids today should take up more. It teaches a lot of skills and fosters creative talent. I wish my siblings back then had YouTube providing instant tutorials on how to wire things without burning down the house or create realistic effects and details. Much more instructive than texting memes all day! It also gets you interested in historical timeframe of most layouts 1870-1950.

Hats off to you for this. I cleaned out my parent’s house and sold it for them last November. I came across an old wooden chest in their garage. It had all of my Lionel HO scale locos and rolling stock from the ’70s. It’s padlocked and in storage with their furniture. I get to play with my trains again once mom buys herself another home and I move things out of storage. A certain old box is comming home with me that day. I can’t wait to let my UP Spirit of ’76 Bicentennial loco stretch her legs on the ‘high’ iron again. 😉
