I think we should also term limit all gubmint jobs. And the total years spent working for gubmint.

There should be a few exceptions. Military leaders. Supreme Court Justices.

And everybody should be subject to lobbying bans for at least a year after working for the government.

And take away all special pensions and medical coverage and make them live with the same 401ks and insurance that we have.

Maybe even implement compulsory government service. Just get rid of this treasonous Civil Service and return us to a citizen government.

Many of them were NOT rewarded by God.

Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Please see verse 26. I included the whole paragraph so as to keep the verse in context. We can all use more scripture reading, anyway.

1Corinthians 1:17 ¶ For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
        23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

        27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Probably because Fox at least tries to be “Fair and Balanced.”

Several of the opinion programs are completely pro-Trump. I avoid Chris Wallace, don’t like Hemmer. I have to tolerate Juan Williams (or Donna Brazil) on The Five, and the rest of that group are pretty pro-Trump. Even Dana Perino is getting more aware.

Conservative voices like Lew Dobbs, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Judge Janine Pirro, Laura Ingram and Steve Hilton are clearly pro-Trump now, and rather scathing about the leftist Dems.

The Greg Gutfeld show is still a delight, and pro-Trump. The other comedy show, Kennedy, generally is a reliable pain and is at best staffed with Libertarian skeptics.

What I have noticed with others, however, is that more and more Dem’s are starting to watch Fox. CNN and MSNBC have gone so rabid batcrap crazy that many in their core audience can’t even take the tedium anymore.

So…real Conservatives seeking truthful news and talented reporting have turned away from Fox, and they are being replaced with low-rent viewers who aren’t conservative anyway. I think we can all see exactly where this is heading.

Why? Because us conservatives/republicans talk the talk but do not walk the walk. How many here have Netflix, HBO, bundled cable? Conservatives/republicans funneling cash to Hollywood via movie theaters, plays, concerts, to people that hate you. Commies overtaking every school board and city government yet we’re to busy to get involved let alone fight back. The commies should of been punched in the face decades ago but we failed by ignoring, coddling, and making excuses as to why we’ve done nothing to them. The civil war talk is humorous as they already have the “high ground” via all federal and most city/state governments. How many will ignore the government’s demand for your firearms when they freeze your social security, healthcare, or bank accounts? Fish in a barrel.

WSJ reporting McConnell doesn’t have the votes to block witnesses. Bad on the one hand, but we’ll know the enemies within, and there was nothing impeachable to witness.

If true, a win for the dems and set back to the Constitution. Calling witnesses totally legitimizes the House dems unconstitutional process and changes impeachment forever.

All Senators voting for witnesses outside what the House dems called during their fake inquiry are wittingly undermining our Constitution and breaking their solemn oath to uphold it.

Trump’s team gave them every opportunity to recognize the consequences and they ignored it.

Those who vote for witnesses outside what the House dems called are making a grave mistake.

Let the circus begin. My opinion only.

I agree. Really too disgusted at the destruction of our Constitution to be commenting, so I will keep it short.
Remember this, McConnell controls all the Republican (uniparty disguised at Republican) senators votes. Do not doubt it. He has the power.

So tonight fox and tucker will have the little lower right corner “box” on the screen, broadcasting a silent President Trump at a MASSIVE RALLY in NJ – while pundits wring their hands, talk out the side of their necks about “witnesses” and explain away why NOT ONE republican senator, house member, legal eagle, media celebrity OR conglomeration of such can MOUNT A DEFENSE and SHUT -THIS – DOWN!

RUSH?! HANNITY?! RUDY?! TUCKER?! MCCONNEL…STFU and get to work!!

WTF – it’s tiring – ALL of IT!

Cold anger just is NOT enough!!

Next there will be ONE witness – pornstache bolton.

I’m trying very hard, but finding it difficult to stay engaged.

Sundance, treepers, fellow patriots, WOLVERINES – what CAN BE DONE?!

@Eric – “Sounds like you need to take a break from politics.” I must agree.

Doing so is a difficult propositio,n because it is so habitual to wake in the morning to coffee and “news” of President Trumps accomplishments and “wins” that I know will restore my country.

Its getting harder for me to take the good (Pres Trump twitter feed post) along with the “bad” (MSM shyte).

        Terrible, terrible situation lol

CNN just reported that after a one hour meeting, republicans are leaning toward ending this whole trial by the end of this week. Main reason: calling more wthnessex will drag this out for months into election and there will be many court challenges. They apparently got the message from Presidents legal team.

Take a vote to get Rinos on record then make their lives utterly miserable. Pull their committee seats, zero out their RNC accounts. Until life as they know it starts ending for Congressmen and Senators they will continue to behave as if the American people don’t exist. Start with Romney.

According to testimony given at the Oversight’s committee “Protecting those who Blow the Whistle”, a person can talk to the Intelligence Committee. So, what did Committee Staff talk about with the person who had the complaint about in addition to recommending getting a lawyer and going to an IG, which Adam Schiff claims is the normal practice. Schiff doesn’t deny in his response to the tweet of the NYTimes story that they had an early account of the allegations.

Did it ever occur to you Nervous Nellies that even if McConnel has the votes, it would be stupid to broadcast it now. Muck better to let the other side you may be open to witnesses, but let them know you intend to call your witnesses as well. Let the Dems get cold feet and decide THEY don’t want witnesses first. I get the feeling no one here ever played poker.

So here’s what may be the big question. If we get a 50/50 vote on whether to have witnesses or not, does Roberts have to break that tie? And if not, I would presume that 50/50 means no witnesses. Could very well come down to that vote.

The precedent is that the Chief Justice, acting as the Senate Presiding Officer, can vote to break a tie vote. During the trial of Andrew Johnson, the Chief Justice voted twice to break tie votes and on another occasion did not vote. The “right” of the Chief Justice to cast a vote was challenged twice and the challenge was defeated by majority vote of Senators. I presume that if a tie vote occurs this time, (IMO, possible with the narrow Rethug majority) the right of the Chief Justice to vote would again be challenged. I think that there is a good chance that Roberts would refuse to vote and the tie would=NO.

I believe John Bolton’s timing/ book leak is an engineered, planned way to persuade the public that there’s no justification not to have hiim testify. If witnesses start bets are off, that Trump couldn’t get impeached. It will come down to if the government believes the outrage will be contained with minimal civil unrest.
It’s psychological warfare techniques being used. Slowly taking the path to getting rid of Trump. Rand Paul is right while it’s obvious Hunter And Joe Biden are corrupt Schumer is screaming about Trump’s children stealing money without any proof.
Look at the actions of the Republican senators, they have done nothing formal to investigate the corruption regarding the Bidens and Ukraine.
If the Republican senators act like there’s some “new” evidence that’s changed their views they can vote to impeach. Trump has enough Republican senators against him privately, they just want to find a way to get away with voting to impeach. This whole spectacle has demonstrated how corrupt our country is.

I feel the Kavannaugh comparison is apples and oranges. We are talking about losing the president that we as a country elected because congress decided they want to kick him out. If their shenanigans had worked with Kavannaugh it would have been an outrage, however, Trump had a list of others the democrats would not have been happy with either.
The public should never had allowed it to go this far. The voting to impeach by the holidays was the beginning of the way to blindly lead the Trump supporters down the path to get rid of Trump. They have no one that can beat him and are unsure if they can cheat enough if it was somewhat close for 2020. The people in power want Trump out yesterday.
The unlawful actions of congress and now the senate going along with the charade makes this very clear. Many don’t care or think they do not, but when the consequences become apparent, it will be too late. I hope this is just doom and gloom. Look at Hillary coming out against Sanders and Biden’s issues help her as well.

Remember: It takes two thirds to convict.

I don’t think the Senate wants to face an armed insurrection if they convict.

Because IMO that’s a real possibility if they do.

They can’t enjoy their loot if they’re not around to do so.

If witnesses are called, watch to see if positive witnesses are allowed to depose and testify. Does the Senate want to see how outraged Trump supporters can get if they aren’t? The Senators better not poke that bear.

What would I do if that happened? I would be calling my boss to say, I’m sorry, but I have to leave for Washington; not even knowing what to do when I got there, but knowing I had to go.

No witnesses. This charade needs to be stopped cold. But, I’m a realist and that is not happening thanks to Mittens, Murkowski, and Collins. Hey Maine, get rid of her. Hey Utah, in four years you better dump Mittens. Alaska, take care of your RINO.

Now, with saying that and since there will be witnesses the first one on the R’s list shouldn’t be Hunter, Joe, or Schiff…nope. Don’t get me wrong they need to called as witnesses too. I mean, a bombshell of a book, “Profiles In Corruption” by Peter Schweitzer is out there….right…

Those previous witnesses are needed but #! on the list should be Michael Atkinson. If Schiff is lying about number of people interviewed in the House by saying 17 when it was 18 and then not releasing Atkinson’s testimony to Trump’s team or even mentioning his name…then he needs to be called first. And then Trump’s team needs to get the testimony released.
