Deep State – Former Trump Senior State Dept. Official Tells Beijing to Wait Until Trump is Removed…

A clear example of the Administrative State’s seditious alignment with global financial interests and DC indulgences.  This is the deep state at its deepest and most statist.

Mrs. Susan Thornton, the former acting assistant secretary of state in the Trump administration, tells her Beijing audience to stop negotiating until President Trump is removed from office in 2020.

(BEIJING) […] “I want to be optimistic,” said Thornton, whose 27-year career in Washington ended in July. “I tell all our foreign counterparts they should keep steady, keep their heads down and wait. [They should] try to not let anything change dramatically.”

“If this skeptical attitude towards talking diplomacy continues in this administration, you might have to wait till another administration,” Thornton said at an event held by National Committee of US-China relations and Shanghai’s American Chamber. (read more)

There was a prescient article written in Politico when Thornton announced her exit from the State Department.

POLITICO […] – Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson pushed for Thornton to lead the state’s East Asia bureau during his tenure, but then-White House chief strategist Steve Bannon tried to block her advancement. Bannon claimed she was too soft on China, but her nomination moved forward after he was ousted from the White House. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also said he did not want her to be confirmed. Thornton did receive a confirmation hearing, but never a vote.  –link

This type of undermining of the president by a well known top diplomat is likely why the Chinese politburo rebuked the deal put together by USTR Robert Lighthizer and Chinese Vice-Primier Liu He.

Obviously President Trump’s opposition is confident they can remove him from office; and giving advice to the Chinese who are making long-term strategic decisions with that confidence in mind.

Again, just another example of the scale and scope of the challenges faced by President Trump as he attempts to negotiate strength for the U.S. economy, and is undermined by bureaucrats who make more personal wealth selling out our nation to foreign  governments.

There are trillions at stake; and former bureaucrats like Ms. Susan Thornton use their former positions to make millions at the trough even if that means advocating for the interests of a communist government.

Disappointing would be an understatement.

Those who have sold out our nation despise President Trump.

Actually, she does not have the right to express her opinion in a public forum. Kerry did the same thing with Iran and now, we may be at the brink of a war. Only the administrative branch of the US government has the authority to implement foreign policy. This may be considered treason. The Logan Act barely applies.

Seditious conspiracy: If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Yelling “fire” in a crowded theater when no fire is evident is a serious threat to the safety of the public.

Yelling “sedition” just to express your frustration, luckily, is not a big problem.

Brandenburg V. Ohio -1969 – The Supreme Court held that the Ohio Criminal Syndicalism Act violated the First Amendment for failing to distinguish between mere advocacy and incitement to imminent lawless action.

“Mrs. Susan Thornton, the former acting assistant secretary of state in the Trump administration, tells her Beijing audience to stop negotiating until President Trump is removed from office in 2020.” Where’s the force? Where’s the force? Where’s the force? Without the force there is no beef, because there is no sedition. Sorry, Charlie.

However, the best and only thing I can do for PDJT is to pray for him and his family daily.
There are many other Christians who are doing the same. We, though not Americans, come to hang out in this refuge.

I recall on election day in Nov 2016 when DJT won. Those around him were jubilant, but PDJT was quiet. He later said, that the presidency was a vocation. In Catholic parlance, it is a call from God.

People of faith, such as the Hermit of Loreto, recognized this call of PDJT since the 1980’s:

So, we keep supporting PDJT with our prayers …. he is fighting evil with incredible resolve:
      as this priest says:
“Now, President Trump wants what these on fire Christians want, and he is working very hard for that. I do not, for a second, believe it is an act. Look who his enemies are … all those who stand directly opposed to the will of God. They are terrified of the resolve of this redeemed, and being redeemed man.”

Yes, rayvan. The commenter to whom you refer posted a series of detailed, nicely written but flawed recommendations for the Suspicious Cats among us. Under the twin banners of “disclosure for disclosure’s sake” bad, and “for the public good”, we were counseled to stop clamoring for full disclosure, and leave disclosure determinations to the skilled insiders. The premise, at this time in American history, is tragically laughable considering that we can count all the trusted figures, in three branches of government and in the administrative state, on two hands.

The rest of us have learned our lesson. Do not trust, but verify everything, repeatedly.

The “former top diplomat” chatting up the Chinese has provided additional evidence that the attempted coup against President Trump continues unabated, by Deep State current and former U.S. government officials. She will attempt to wiggle out of prosecutorial danger with a defense that she was advising a “wait and see” strategy, while missing the point that she is interfering with the U.S. President’s current, official strategy.

Open the Courtrooms and let the Logan Act prosecutions begin.

So let’s say China is taking all of this bad advice from the deep state and delays making a trade deal, hoping that Trump is not reelected.

Trump has said several times in the past that the longer the deal takes, the better it will be for the USA. I assume that is because as the tariffs are ratcheted up, more and more companies will be pressured into leaving China and coming back to the USA or elsewhere. Also, Trump would have more leverage in negotiations due to having an excuse to play hard ball on may levels and eventually max out the tariffs on all product categories and address the major issues (ex. recent EO on Information and Communication Technology/US Trade Blacklist) ahead of final negotiation with China.

So we are sort of slowly extricating ourselves and companies from trade with China and China’s influence in the USA; whereas if we had a quick trade deal, many companies would still stay in China and many issues would be harder to address after the fact.

So this bad advice the deep state is giving China may be working in our favor(assuming Trump is reelected) because it’s causing China to delay. Am I missing something?

You’re missing the fact that it’s so complex and interwoven between corporate interests on supply chain side as well that the Chinese are not just waiting out Trump, but also waiting out and renegotiating through backdoor channels directly to companies. They are probably doing the math on how much pain they can suffer, maybe even up until 2024. Who knows how many other companies are willing to wait out the tariffs for a new administration to revert it all back.

They’re not stupid. It’s more than just waiting out Trump. And with their books cooked the way they are we really have no idea what their pain threshold is. It’s all just a bunch of half truths told to the WTO as well as the companies and plutocrat globalists.

This is just round 1. Things are going to keep shifting around as new information occurs behind closed doors. We are just witnessing the first spasms to the tariffs.

The Commerce Department briefing, that listed 50 ways China was playing dirty in trading with the US, repeatedly referenced American firms in China as sources. If true, it sounded as though those companies were really burnt and were looking for an exit — whether to the US, to Japan, to India or elsewhere.

New supply chains take time to develop, but we are talking months, not two years and certainly not six years! Walmart shelves the Christmas after next may have far fewer “Made in China” labels.

While China is ‘waiting it out’ companies who do business with China will find other sources that aren’t having tariffs leveled on them. Better yet will be if they bring products back into the USA.

Bannon got a raw deal, in my estimation. Much of the leaking that was blamed on him and his staff was actually coming from Deep-Staters/Never Trumpers in the Whitehouse as well as from the FBI (remember all those telephone conversations with the president and other governments that were getting leaked?) His instincts were correct about Kelly, Tillerson and the others of their ilk. There was much damage done and much precious time wasted because of those characters, and if Bannon had been heeded it might have been avoided.

Bannon’s fatal mistake was in coming into conflict with Pres. Trump’s family. But that’s another story.

They are the worst of the administrative/deep state. For years, it was said you had to attend one of five universities to get a job as a foreign service officer. They consider themselves the elite and even the newest hire fresh out of grad school believes they are superior to the American taxpayer.

The State Department should be gutted.

  31. Even though ‘China’ is playing the ‘Long Game’, the question now is, Will they wait yet another 6 years. While Pres. Trump decimates their economy, destroying their One-Road Belt Initiative ..

They ‘may not’ or ‘will not’ afford to ‘wait’ a full 2-term president, Knowing & watching the Idiocy coming from the Democrat Left.
Knowing that yet another #MAGA republican would be waiting in the Wings?

How many factories can leave in six years? None of the factories that leave while they are waiting to see if President Trump is re-elected will return, it is just to risky and costly. Their best option was always to make a good deal quickly.

The Uniparty rats obviously feel free to undermine Trump’s Presidency. They know there will be zero consequences. Kerry did even worse — went to Iran and told them to wait and resist, on camera. What happened next? Nothing.

They are ALL waiting out there, more or less patiently, for the course to be reversed sooner or later. I think the Chinese really hoped Trump would be ousted by now. I can only imagine how much money they invested in the Washington Swamp to make it happen. WTF, they were promised that the walls were closing in on the Orange Man Bad. Now they probably want reassurances that their money was not completely wasted.

Another mark against deep state Tillerson. May he never work again.

Add Thornton to the list of obauma and Kerry to be prosecuted for logan act violations, aiding and abetting an unfriendly government to America’s loss and endangerment.

Thornton demonstrates that she is a classic lazy State Department employee.
One who learned that life was easiest if they allowed the foreign governments to dictate terms. Terms that deep staters like Thornton considered half way meet in the middle agreements; since America could afford the losses.

Several generations of State Department employees believe this kind of nonsense and should be purged from Government.

As Thomas Jefferson said of those like Biden and Thorton – They have no country. The mere spot upon which they stand does not constitute nearly as strong an attachment as does that from which they draw their gains.

I have questions/issues being asked with humility — probably from lack of knowledge. Sundance: “This type of undermining of the president by a well known top diplomat is likely why the Chinese politburo rebuked the deal put together by USTR Robert Lighthizer and Chinese Vice-Primier Liu He.”

    1. I never for one minute imagined that China would agree to any deal that put enforced — underline enforced limits — on them. In this regard, I don’t think she has any responsibility for this failure. (However, she has been undermining this county for 30+ years.) I thought they (China) believed they could hoodwink him. America would always blink first.

    2. I thought the lack of a “deal” with the Chinese is a plus for our economy. More money from tariffs. Faster development of alternative sources for manufactured goods – including made-in-USA. Danger – if China believes war is in their best interest or they simply go insane. Someone dared challenge them. (Again, I probably am not knowledgeable.)

3 Now that she, Susan Thornton, is miss traitor-private-citizen, she can say anything she wants legally, I think. I also think her picture and her words should be displayed everywhere with screaming headlines: “traitor-in-government-service for 30 years. Eliminate all other traitors who are still inside.” Use her for PR over and over and over again.

    4. The National Committee for China-US Relations is a 501(c)2 not for profit organization. All donations are tax deductible. Membership by invitation. Located in NYC. Since they are clearly a political lobbying organization, they should be stripped of their non-profit status immediately. They are not “serving vital American and world interests. Use her nasty big mouth to destroy them as a non-profit.

President Trump and We the People (his supporters) are seen as foreign invaders by the deep state. The deep state power brokers actually view us as enemies of the state. So in their minds, of course it is legal to spy, and to attempt, by any means possible, to get rid of us. We are a temporary inconvenience. When in fact, we are The Inconvenient Truth.

After indicting this State Dept. traitor (she is only one of many) may as well while they’re at it go ahead and ask FIB Director Wray to resign; as apparently he has not been doing his job. Replace him with an outsider who can look at the agency objectively and give it a major league overhaul.
