Ashen and Conflicted – Senator Schumer Discusses Private Meeting With AG Nominee William Barr…

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer met privately with AG nominee William Barr earlier today.  At the conclusion of the meeting Senator Schumer addresses the media.

Schumer appears conflicted and confused as to how to describe his own highly political desires with the answers he received from Mr. Barr.  It does not appear Schumer was pleased with his overall inability to leverage control over the nominee; and that comes out in the early part of his statement.  That’s a good sign.  Watch:

.

The issue of how Mr. Barr would produce a summary document about the completed Mueller investigation is an aspect that deserves some clarity and discussion.

The best way to think about the Mueller report is to think about the local police department (detective or DA) doing an investigation on a subject and completing that task.

At the conclusion of the inquiry, if there is no determination of criminal wrongdoing, the investigator does not outline the investigation in a report to the general public.

The basic premise behind this standard process is simple.  Everyone is innocent unless they can be proven to be guilty.

If everyone who was ever investigated had the internal investigative material made public it would be profoundly unfair to the target.  It would be even more unfair if the investigator was allowed to frame a public report, with their own internal biases and innuendo, in lieu of their ability to find criminal wrongdoing.

Now amplify that simple fairness issue x 1,000 and consider how severely political federal investigators might produce such a document against their opposition.  It is easy to see how such a report can be weaponized for political benefit.  The weaponization and benefit is the goal of the current Democrat leadership.

However, specifically to address these issues, and in an attempt to remove the political weaponization possible within the special counsel statute, the DOJ framed the ending of a special counsel investigation such that a summary of investigative finding is delivered to the U.S. Attorney General, who then puts out a public statement (of sorts) describing the conclusion (the finding).

Pelosi, Schumer and the Democrats do not want William Barr to be able to write a summary, a public statement, based on the report delivered to him by Robert Mueller.

Instead, the Democrats want the report from Mueller, including all the investigative trails that were exhausted, so they can exploit aspects of the inquiry that were not able to be proven, and weaponize “innuendo” and “possibility” for political benefit.

Minority Leader Schumer is frustrated he cannot get Barr to accept that demand.

There is a slight parallel here to the position of those who are selling the honorable Rosenstein and Mueller origination angle.  This is where the “trust the plan” folks, align with the Epoch Times community of narrative engineers.

The Epoch Times engineering position, writ large, is that DAG Rod Rosenstein was seeking to protect President Trump when he appointed Robert Mueller.  It is into this engineering community where all the leaked congressional transcripts are being deposited.

In their Epoch collective opinion, after James Comey was fired, the highly corrupt Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe was about to launch a retaliatory counter-attack against the President using a new focus for the ongoing counterintelligence investigation.  Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein saw what McCabe was about to launch and removed his ability to do it by appointing Robert Mueller as special counsel to take over the originating investigation.

According to this viewpoint, Rosenstein saved President Trump from the wrath of McCabe by appointing Mueller (May, 2017).

Following that perspective…. Seeing the overt weaponization of the FBI, the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz was then guided to begin targeting inquiry toward Andrew McCabe and the “small group” more aggressively (June through November 2017).  This led to the December 2017 revelations behind the activities of the small group (James Comey, Jim Rybicki, Andrew McCabe, Jim Baker, Michael Kortan, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, Bruce Ohr etc.)

The parallel here is that William Barr’s current position, perspective and intent with the Mueller report; if you follow the ‘trust-the-plan’ crew;  is similar to the position, perspective and intent held by DAG Rod Rosenstein when he cut McCabe off at the knees.  [McCabe, Baker, Kortan and Strzok obviously fired; and Page quit.]

However, what this “honorable Rosenstein” view fails to reconcile is the predicate, the essential false underpinning of the entire Mueller probe.  Also, the ridiculous aspect of Russian indictments that Rosenstein knows are entirely manufactured for political optical value only.  [See: the Concord fiasco and the Russian woman posting memes.]

If Rosenstein was aware what the corrupt crew of DOJ and FBI officials were doing, he damned sure didn’t do anything about it, quite the opposite.  If he was aware of how corrupt FBI officials were targeting their political opposition… why did Rosenstein direct all attention away from that truth?  Why permit the DOJ and FBI to redact text messages between Page and Strzok when there was/is no legal basis to redact the text messages between Page and Strzok (merely one example).

I can find no action by FBI Director Chris Wray (Rosenstein selection), Deputy Director David Bowdich or Legal Counsel Dana Boente, that has addressed the internal corruption identified throughout their institution.  Quoting the IG Report:

Instead of exposing the issues, what we can clearly see is an effort to avoid discussing and exposing that corruption at all costs.

No, they were already spying, then when they realized they were going to lose they panicked and this bogus Russia crap was all they had for cover. They, the media and the Democrats have done yeoman’s work turning that flimsy, ludicrous essay into a full fledged scandal they they have kept alive for over 2 years.

They must have crapped their pants thinking about how fixable Vlad my be when President Trump takes office after Candidate Trump said he would like to have good relationship with Russia.

For the record, the author is not “depressed” in any way. When FBI agents do not “know” that child trafficking is a crime; when they lie in one breath, fess up in another, antennae rise… There can be no peace nor safety for honest citizens in the USA, until O, H, W. This is actually a VERY important article, and I wish it would be published – under a narrative engineering subject line – at RealClearPolitics and AmGreatness. EpochTimes should be shamed into sharing the transcripts, minimally with SD. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO EMAIL Jeff@themarketswork.com. SD is right to be frustrated. We should be demanding truth, not accepting narratives that are improved in comparison to the NYT and WaPo. It is important to note that many of the researchers backing up Epochtimes writers come out of the intel community. There is no reason to suspect their motivations yet, but the intel community created the mess we’re in today. Why should we be trusting them?

Having said the above, I will note these guys do supply extensive evidence and make logical arguments. They are not spinning up crap or pretending to be Q inspired (the better ones anyway). Unless they’re getting inside help, the researchers (dawsonsFields, chaos actual, Shem Horne, many others) are coming up with very creative theories, which they test against facts. You can watch the product being made if you have the time and interest. Their stories are not just BS.

Based on their evidence, I think there is a good possibility the mueller probe is not corrupt. My spidey sense tells me Rosenstein is not a bad guy even though he didn’t ultimately try to tackle a corrupt institution by himself. There is no theory where Comey isn’t crooked, and Epochtimes isn’t trying to rehabilitate him. It does look like there were two investigations, one by the folks trying to topple Trump, and one that discovered the DNC attackers were likely our own intel people. It does look possible the contractors accessing FISA data, before Adm Rogers stopped them, might have stumbled on a counter intel sting that Trump had assisted. And Steele was certainly an information washing machine as SD discovered.

It’s quite possible Epochtimes is not publishing transcripts because they contain information that is still being used in ongoing investigations. Trump needs a way to get his story out and NYT will not change their stripes in spite of being caught lying repeatedly, at least to those who even bother to look.

I suspect the Epochtimes guys are trying to go for a massive red pill suppository, as the only way to wake everyone out of their insanely wrong views. Won’t work on my brainwashed kids, but these guys do have seem to have some expertise in shaping views. Our country is at stake, so I’m sort of ready to give anything a try.

However, I’m with SD when it comes to addressing institutional corruption. I want DOJ ripped apart. It is a cluster-fck disaster. Every single person working in DC SHOULD be fired. They all had a hand in covering up shady stuff. It doesn’t matter what they prevented or the lives they saved if they did it corruptly. They obviously took a very wrong turn somewhere and destroyed the institution. It has maybe always been like that. I don’t care. We have a right to a DOJ comprised of men of integrity.

If integrity is not restored to our Justice system, all of Trump’s efforts will be for naught and he will not be the greatest president ever. The outcome is entirely on him. And in spite of any narrative engineering by those who support him, those of us who care about the truth will know Trump failed.

Thanks for fighting this fight SD. I pray you will prevail.

    • It strains my credulity to think Trump appointing Sessions was a blunder, Trump appointing Rosenstein was a blunder, Trump appointing Wray was a blunder, Trump appointing Barr was a blunder. At this point one pretty much would have to conclude Trump is a moron and quit going on about how clever Trump is about trade policy and geopolitics, etc.

What if Trump new before hand when Mike Rogers came to see him, who the corrupt people were. What if he let Sessions hire Rosenstein knowing he was part of the corrupt group. What if Sessions knew Wray was part of the corruption and also hired him. What if Trump waited until the exact right time to fire Comey knowing that Rosenstein would Hire Muller, the other corrupt team player. So what if this was all a set up to let them sink themselves, knowing he had all the documents and servers to put all of them away for a long time. Trump is no fool. Then Trump has this guy that has been on his team from the beginning, that is Mr Barr… Session steps down so Trump can bring in Barr to put the hammer down on the whole group of them at one time. This seams more like a Trump move to me. Makes more since than him keep on hiring crooks tied to the Clintons. He told us they were going to take this Country back for us.. And I think that is what they will do. He knew everything from the beginning with Rogers telling him, you think he is not going to use all that info.. He is the greatest President of all time and he will take the bad players down.. just wait and see!!

I took heart when Trump started saying “Wait until you see…” because it indicates that before he is out of office, he will make sure all the facts come out. I hate that we don’t have the facts out yet but I still believe that the CIA is being slowly torn down and the FBI and DOJ will be significantly cleaned up. I pray that Trump stays strong through all of the attacks.

      @RJones: Great comment!

I am a anon/8ch board-type but I strongly disagree with the notion of Mueller and Rosenstein being good guys or white hats.
On the contrary – the evidence over the nearly 2 years points to Mueller and Rosenstein to be agents of the globalists.
Uranium one, emails, CF, Weiner laptop and Crimes against children, FISA fraud based on treason colluding with a foreign agent (UK, AU) can not be explained away washing the filth of Mueller and Rosenstein due to their involvement.

Having said that it is of the utmost important to look at Mueller et al for what it is and was: The Old Guard trying to sabotage a duly elected president and his administration while acting on behalf of a foreign agent and interference in the 2016 election while covering up the treasonous activities of the Hussein white house and uni-party in DC.

For all its worth they all need to hang!

Mueller has run out of options while his activities as SC – engineered SC appointment 6 days before Hussein and crew vacated the white house via the EO where Hussein laid out Sessions replacement and more.
Mueller’s career is littered with fraud, waste, abuse while railroading innocent men to prison. Mueller is not an honorable man and in my opinion an embarrassment to our Marines.

Unless I am missing some critical detail, in order to accept the premise of Epochtimes, I would have to know that the only counter to McCabe’s attacks was the assignment of SC Meuller. With all that is known now and with all that must have been known internally long ago, was there no other alternative? If AG Sessions was on the up and up, would not addressing a crooked McCabe, Strzok and Page outright with termination or whatever would go along with attempting a coup as opposed to recusal been more apporpriate? None of it adds up in my estimation. It does point to how big the challenges are that PDJT faces….

No matter what their political leanings, the present leaders in DC all have their specific jobs to do, and almost all of them want credibility restored to the FBI.
Wray has his job, which is to clean out the remainder of the FBI and make sure everyone knows what is acceptable going forward and what is not. He is the primary guy wanting to restore the FBI in the eyes of the public as well. The old guard, except for Rosenstein, are gone at the top, so Wray doesn’t CARE about any of them. It’s not part of his job for the FBI. It’s the future of the FBI itself that concerns him.
Horowitz is in charge of internal ethics violations for the FBI and that’s all the IG is supposed to do. Every department and agency has its own IG. He doesn’t investigate anything outside of the FBI, although that certainly gives him plenty to investigate. He doesn’t CARE about Hillary, the DNC, etc, etc, except as it has to do with actions of FBI employees. He gave his report which uncovered leaks, lies, bias, cover-ups, and probably the original coup attempts. He couched all of this in far less forceful ways than they deserved, but everyone at the top was ultimately fired or forced to resign based on his report and some were presumably referred by him for further investigation and prosecution. That’s all his job entailed.
Those two men are there to protect the FBI’s ethical integrity and credibility in their own ways. Their jobs have nothing to do with investigations of crimes outside of a narrow focus.

The Attorney General is the only one really concerned about investigations beyond that. Sessions appointed Huber to do some of the work of investigating FISA, etc. The FBI in Little Rock, Arkansas appears to have been investigating the Clintons and Clinton Foundation. There have been hints that there is a prosecutor outside of Huber who is investigating other aspects of it. The appearance is that the various investigations were done under different prosecutors, each with their own aspects to focus on. There have been several mentions of grand juries and continuing investigations in all the hearings before congress, and not all were being done by Mueller and his crew. Mueller has less than two dozen investigators…the DOJ has over 470 of them. And no leaks.

Rosenstein MIGHT be a very reluctant white hat. He MAY have been offered a deal he couldn’t refuse. But he has serious conflicts which give him real incentive NOT to cooperate with the good guys, and I think his natural inclination is to try his best to get rid of Trump. He can either cooperate with the good guys and hope he is offered a deal when they win, or he can hope that HIS side wins out and he escapes justice totally. Who he cooperates with most is whomever he thinks is winning, and that might change from day to day.

Likewise Mueller. What DID he and Trump discuss the day before he was appointed special council? It is definitely apparent that Mueller is a dirty cop with natural sympathies toward Hillary and her gang. But he’s also very intelligent and cunning and will go with the winning side, whichever that is. He knows what his own risk is, as far as possible prosecution of himself is concerned, and he will stay out of all traps. I think he made a general deal with Trump. But the guy is a loose cannon, for sure.

I see a game of chess between Mueller and Trump with Rosenstein squeezed in the middle just trying to survive. It’s all out of Rosenstein’s hands and has been ever since Sessions left. Whitaker, and soon Barr, will not recuse themselves, so Rosenstein has no power left. He has no other choice but to get out of it completely. Mueller, in the meantime, has probably had his wings clipped as a result of all this. He has to wind up his game soon and do what he can to save whatever he can…Rosenstein can’t help anymore. Whitaker has probably reduced Mueller’s range of investigations to whatever it was originally. Barr won’t even allow Mueller to make the report public…Barr will do that in his own way. So Mueller is being essentially neutered except for some ugly innuendo here and there.

But the chief thing we should focus on now is NOT so public: The other investigators outside of both the DOJ and FBI. The ones not in DC. These are the guys who will matter most going forward, and Huber will do most of the prosecuting. They are the ones doing the grand juries and indictments that Horowitz et al have alluded to. They have been silent. No leaks. No public appearances. Just quietly working. We will be hearing from them.

If any of Mueller’s angry Democrats leak the report which is certain to contain confidential grand jury information protected by Rule 6e of the Federal Code of Federal Procedure they would not only be prosecuted but they would also be disbarred! Grand jury information is any document or information obtained as a result of using a grand jury subpoena or from someone testifying before the grand jury. There’s no doubt that everything Mueller obtained is going to be grand jury material!

There are different reports of what Barr said. Some say that Barr would release what he could but that much of it would still be redacted. What I heard him say was that he would be releasing his OWN report of Mueller’s investigations. If he does that, I don’t think he will earn himself much credibility in one political camp or the other…he will be accused of bias in his report, depending upon whose side he takes.

CAN’T DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS JUST SUBPOENA MUELLER AND HIS REPORT?

Sure. And New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the Democratic chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has said as much.

“We could subpoena the final report. We could subpoena Mueller and ask him in front of the committee what was in your final report. Those are things we could do,” Nadler said in October on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

But Trump, as the leader of the executive branch, could direct the Justice Department to defy the subpoena, prompting a court fight that would almost certainly go to the Supreme Court.

I did Internet marketing and search engine optimization for a living, and I will spend my ad $ with Google and FB because unfortunately that’s where the best ROI is. Niche opportunities are opening up on Bing and Yahoo for small advertisers (under $100k) so the ad market is getting a little bit more competitive.

The censorship of conservative voices on socialist media and search is getting WAY out of control. They need to be classified as publishers because they select what gets shown, not protected by special rights as “platforms.” SD and every conservative voice must turn up the heat on this issue as we move into election season.

Everything Schumer accused PDJT of doing actually describes Obama’s presidency in accurate detail including his and his supporters’ political control over the DOJ and FBI. Hillary was already engaging in the same political weaponization of gov’t agencies while she was just a candidate. Tucker Carlson is correct—Whatever the Dems are accusing others of doing, they are doing or have already done themselves. It’s the tactic of always being on the offensive to avoid exposure.

Arguably, the worst examples are the daily accusations of Trump subverting and obstructing justice when it is clear that the Dems and their connected insiders have been hiding evidence and obstructing justice for over 2 years.

Exactly. When Comey announced that no reasonable prosecutor would indict Hillary, I fell off my chair! After reading off all the reasons she should have been indicted! It made no sense. He should’ve never read off all her offenses if she wasn’t guilty. Not guilty, period.

Comey’s exoneration of Cankles was the national debut of the unprovable, totally subjective “intent” nonsense. I realize that intent does play a role in say differentiating manslaughter from other forms of homicide but extending that beyond a very specific set of circumstances is legal lunacy. We now have Kreskin-type mind readers determining legal guilt or innocence.

If Trump enacted leverage on Rosenstein as was theorized when he held off on releasing the docs and after McCabe drove the NYT hit-piece on Rosenstein, then that leverage would include an ‘out’ for Rosenstein, and hence narrative engineering to expose as much as possible while protecting Rosenstein would make sense. This of course means there is design going on here driven by a deal between Trump and Rosenstein, where leaking is being performed to Epoch Times in line with this.

    “Leverage” hypotheses from Sep-2018:

    1/ Sundance: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/09/21/leverage/

    2/ Jeff Carlson https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-art-of-war-how-president-trump-gained-significant-leverage-with-declassiciation-order_2668079.html

… if what I hypothesize here is true then it would appear to me that Jeff Carlson has been more than joining dots over the last several months, i.e. he has had direct knowledge coming out from the White House (the narrative he has been pushing of Rosenstein undercutting McCabe).

Chuck U. Schumer is either a really poor lawyer or he is being disingenuous by claiming to be disappointed by Barr’s refusal to commit to his demands that Barr give Herr Mueller unfettered leeway to pretty much do anything he wants for the remainder of his investigation and not be subject to scrutiny or sanction by the AG even if there is wrongdoing by Mueller or any of the lawyers on his team.

Schumer is either ignorant about how a real lawyer (not one who got a law degree and then became a career racketeer in politics) would respond to such demands (a real lawyer would, as Barr did, refuse) or he knows and is once again reverting to partisan politics out of his hatred for President Trump.

Just a reminder: Schumer is the Senate Minority Leader. Emphasize Minority. The Democrats lost seats in the Senate in the 2018 Blue Wave. Republicans also hold the Presidency and the Supreme Court has a conservative majority. In the House if 19 out of 435 races had gone the other way the Republicans would still control that chamber too, that’s a pretty tenuous majority for the Democrats. When will Republicans start using all that to their advantage?

Does anyone else wonder whether those Russian Trolls were actually the Hillary-super-pac paid Hillary Trolls, while blaming the Russians (sound familiar?) The article below references the paid trolls in response to Bernie, but I would imagine they doubled down on their paid trolls and pointed them from Bernie to Trump.

      https://www.theverge.com/2016/4/21/11485090/hillary-clinton-super-pac-1-million-online-critics

      From the linked article:
Super PACS like Correct the Record can raise and spend unlimited funds for their chosen candidate, but are technically banned from co-ordinating with their campaign, as their official name — “independent-expenditure only committees” — denotes. But Libby Watson of the Sunlight Foundation, a nonpartisan advocate for more transparent government, has noted that Correct the Record could use a loophole in these rules to communicate directly with Clinton’s campaign. “It’s not totally clear what their reasoning is,” Watson tells The Daily Beast. “But it seems to be that material posted on the Internet for free — €”like, blogs — ”doesn’t count as an ‘independent expenditure.” Writing last year, Watson specified that the FEC “only regulates Internet activity when it is communication placed on another person’s website for a fee.”

The task force says it will attempt to sway the internet’s legion of Sanders supporters to Hillary’s side as the election draws closer. Behind that effort will be people from a variety of backgrounds, including former reporters, PR specialists, designers, bloggers, and other “Hillary super fans.” The new investment will see more of Hillary’s critics addressed directly in the future, but the super PAC says it’s already taken 5,000 individuals to task over their personal attacks on their candidate, an effort noted by one Reddit user who said a deluge of replies on a disparaging post from pro-Hillary users turned their inbox “to cancer” this week.

You’ve wasted time if you’ve followed and believed anonymous reports and sources used by narrative engineers.

Always best to stick with facts and data. Start there. Build your model with that. Work out from that framework. Always recognize that the narrative engineers lie just as easily as they take their next breath. The people who provide them the anonymous reports and sources are worse.

Nothing is truth unless you can confirm it’s truth, and an engineered narrative is not truth, absent facts and data.

I can see both sides of this coin: 1) The democrats ‘fight’ Barr’s nomination, presenting Barr as a Trump ally, or at least present that he’s not on the same playing field as the democrats. Once that’s established, Trump ‘wins’ a battle against the democrats for his nomination.  After establishing that public image, Barr later decides, after reviewing all of the ‘facts’, that we really DO need to release that report for full transparency (or even take us in yet another direction we haven’t seen yet).  Because if the Democrats are the only ones pushing their narrative it will be seen as a lefty thing. But if someone the Democrats desperately tried to keep from being nominated later AGREES with those same democrats – well it surely now has credibility as being bipartisan and the right thing to do. See how that works? OR, alternatively, 2) Barr really does want to do the right thing and attends meetings with dems individually because he is on to them and wants to know what they say behind closed doors. And maybe, just maybe, he’s wired up for those meetings and has an even bigger plan.

Remember the fine upstanding boy scout type Republican, Comey, that we could trust to do the right thing?  From all appearances he was a straight arrow.  While I don’t exactly trust another FOM (friend of Mueller), I wouldn’t count him out either because, well, we don’t know what we don’t know.

Been thinking about that article and I feel heartened again. Huffington https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-giuliani-cuomo-cnn-collusion_us_5c3ff0a1e4b027c3bbbdf224 and other lib rags are all over Giuliani backtracking on whether or not he said there was collusion or not.

But someone on one of these threads the other day pointed out that the Democrats are getting wise to the fact that it’s not good for them, personally, if in fact that DJT was or even was suspected of actively colluding with Russians, because THEY were all working with him and doing things for him for years prior to this election, so THEY could be investigated for the same reasons that DJT could.

So, it would make sense that Giuliani is now attempting to backtrack and say that he never said there wasn’t ANY collusion…IF the good guys, whomever they may be, have used the fact that the Dems claimed DJT was colluding with Russians as a reason to spy on the Democrats and ANYONE/EVERYONE who could have been colluding with DJT, a suspected Russian agent. Oh man, talk about beating someone with their own stick.

So, stay with me here, if there WAS covert investigation inside the small group, as I have always hoped there was, then this is all starting to make sense!

    1. Chuck deserves an Oscar for acting shaken, but really it’s all theater to make us think Barr is an independent thinker, worthy of our trust and the corruption continues as is; or

    2. Schumer is shaken because he said to Barr, “All this I will give to you” and Barr said, “No thanks”.

Barr may not be what we were hoping, look at his thoughts on second amendment rights. When it comes to guns he is NOT on our side.

Text below is a portion of the text at this link: https://gunowners.org/alert11619.htm

Even the most liberal, anti-gun Justice on the Supreme Court — Ruth Bader Ginsburg — didn’t sit in the witness chair in the Senate Judiciary Committee and tell us she intended to shred the Second Amendment.

So, when Barr openly spat on the right to keep and bear arms on Tuesday — and threatened to break down our doors in the middle of the night in order to confiscate our guns — well, that’s a problem for us.

Listening to William Barr, there is no doubt that he will be an enemy of the Second Amendment. He even talks like an anti-gunner.

On Tuesday, he told Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) that “there’s room for reasonable regulation” on firearms laws — which is exactly the same lingo that Michael Bloomberg or Chuck Schumer would use.

But now it has become clear: Barr’s history as an enemy of the Second Amendment goes back a long way.

Consider that in 1991 — in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee — he endorsed semi-auto bans, magazine bans, and background checks. Said Barr:

On the assault weapon front, the proposal before us is the DeConcini amendment. And I think … I would support both the Brady Bill waiting period and the DeConcini amendment [semi-auto ban], provided that they were parts of a broader and more comprehensive crime bill that included … very tough provisions on the use of firearms in crimes and illegal purchase and trading in firearms…

Barr went on to endorse a comprehensive magazine ban as well.

Amazingly, when speaking before the Senate on Tuesday, Barr may have perjured himself by denying he ever supported a semi-auto ban.

When asked how his views from the early 1990s had changed after the Heller decision, Barr said: “I think I opposed an assault weapons ban [in the early 1990s].”

Of course, that’s clearly not what he said, and he’s obviously hoping that people don’t view the C-Span footage from 1991. [You can see Barr’s remarks at the 1:42:23 mark in this C-Span video.]

Barr currently supports “Gun Confiscation Orders”
