President Trump Signs Proclamation Instructing Secretary of Defense To Bolster DHS at Southern U.S. Border…

Today President Donald Trump signed a proclamation directing the National Guard to be deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border.  Earlier today DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen explained the process:

In a memorandum to Defense Secretary Mattis, Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, President Trump states the “situation at the border has now reached a point of crisis.”  The document orders the Secretary of Defense to support the Department of Homeland Security in securing the southern border to stop the flow of drugs and people.

FROM THE WHITE HOUSEWHAT: President Donald J. Trump is authorizing the deployment of the National Guard to support the Border Patrol in its mission to protect our country and stop the stream of illegal immigration.

To give our Border Patrol agents the support they deserve, President Trump is authorizing the deployment of National Guard units to the southern border to aid their mission.

America’s Border Patrol agents work incredibly hard to do their jobs of enforcing our Nation’s immigration laws and protecting our national security. These law enforcement personnel are tasked with securing thousands of miles of border, however, and often do not have the manpower or resources necessary to stem the tide of illegal immigration into the United States.

Given the importance of secure borders to our national security, the National Guard, in coordination with governors, will remain in a support role until Congress takes the action necessary to close the loopholes undermining our border security efforts, including ending the practice of Catch and Release.

This is not the first time in recent history that the National Guard has been deployed to the southern border. In 2012, President Barack Obama authorized the deployment of guardsmen to the border. President George W. Bush also authorized deployment of 6,000 guardsmen to the border as a part of Operation Jump Start, assisting in operations which resulted in the arrest of more than 173,000 illegal aliens, the rescue of 100 persons, and the seizure of more than 300,000 pounds of drugs.

WHY: The President is taking action to protect America’s national security because congressional Democrats have obstructed efforts to secure our border.

Throughout his campaign and Administration, President Trump has called for greater resources and legal authorities to end the national security threat posed by our porous borders. The President has repeatedly outlined a series of steps that are crucial to fixing this problem, including funding to build a wall securing our southern border; greater resources for manpower and security technology; and the closure of legal loopholes that allow illegal immigration to flourish.

More than a thousand people a day and more than 300,000 a year violate our sovereignty by illegally crossing the border. With our current laws and resources, we cannot stop illegal aliens from crossing the border or remove all of the illegal aliens we catch. Of the over 75,000 family units apprehended in FY 2017, only 2,605 were removed.

Stonewalling by Members of Congress, however, has prevented our dedicated Border Patrol agents from getting the resources they so desperately need. Inaction has left glaring loopholes open and crucial legal authorities unauthorized, so the President is taking action and using his existing powers to fill these gaps.  (WH Link)

DJT’s approval rating should jump at least another 15 points.

If he starts to understand that the American People support his efforts overwhelmingly, in rising poll numbers, in contradiction to the portrayal by the media and the criminal political class in D.C., just imagine what he could accomplish…

We think Donaldus Magnus knows very well that halfway decent, normal U.S. citizens overwhelmingly support his border policies. But if we didn’t, this unusual man would go ahead in any case, making every effort to educate us in the process.

First we will need some honest pollsters. If we actually had more than one or two, his poll numbers would have been in the 50s all along and in the 60s by now.

Reserve is a little different than Guard, but yes. Plenty of two week summer drills could be rescheduled to be spent at the border, very little additional cost.

FF to ~ 8:30 . Did I hear HDS secretary indicate that President Trump has assembled a legislative body to craft legislation in FAVOR of the American people ? SUNDANCE had well outlined this need very early in the administration . Same with the main street parallel banking system . We also see signs that POTUS has his own parallel intelligence service “Q” .

LEVERAGE to be applied to the UNIPARTY to pass the TRUMP STREET LEGISLATION pending !!

One could speculate that same leverage POTUS used to get his tax bill passed is coming in for a second round of sorties !!

Linear thinking when deserving the Trump administration subjects the viewer to many bouts of on the Trump Train off the Trump Train .

Understand the tactics we saw with POTUS handing of DACA , Mitt Romney , gun confiscation , and more requires a 3 dimensional thinking process .

What would a mention of ” giving permanent status ” keep our enemies off guard all the while capturing votes for the 2020 election ?

Trump is growing support by this tactic and making the enemy domestic look as if THEY ARE the ones who are against DACA and a path to legal citizenship .

In this asymmetrical war using the enemies own STRENGTH as your strength requires a mastery well beyond level 1 chess IMO .

Trump is a master of STEALING power from our enemies by usurping it !! Just as Bobby Kennedy and JFK stole black voters from the republican party by saving MLK from the Atlanta jail . It was that event that had mostly republican blacks become MLK democrats .

Why not have Trump capture democrats from that party that has gone full commie ? Why not be the Hispanic communities JFK ?

IMO president Trump is winning EVERYTHING on levels 2&3 of #3Dchess and level 1 stuff simply doesn’t matter . You will recognize level 1 as anything show by the MSM .

Stormy Daniels , The HOGGster ,Russia Russia , and Trumps in chaos …all level 1 and irrelevant

Here is the problem, Gov. Brown, who believes Brown will send California’s National Guard?. Why can the US Military protect the citizens and borders of other country, fight wars to protect the EU, yet can’t protect the borders of this country?
Don’t cite the 1878 law, I’ve read it, it does not refer to using our Military against Foreign invaders on US soil. Fox News Jennifer Griffen proudly touted “a 100 year old law that stop Military forces” on US soil, Ugg… Pres. Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock, Arkansas, without congressional approval. Lots of other examples.
1 Million illegals have driver licenses in California, I guess they aren’t “undocumented” anymore.

    • swampcat says:

Perhaps with NG at border in Texas, NM, and AZ they can move more Border Patrol to CA, thereby overriding Gov. Moonbeam.

On this issue of 1 million+ illegal aliens who’ve obtained Commiefornia drivers licenses… No one is talking about the result… now us legal US Citizens have to apply, in person at the DMV, for a “Real California Drivers license” (yes, that’s the actual name). All so the Commiefornian’s could make illegals lives easier.

@scarlettbr: I live and the California political leadership has gone way beyond what within the law: Illegals are voting en masse and their votes are counted each and every one. The conservatives who live mostly in the valleys have no political representation as they are outnumbered by the left and illegals that keep these leftist politicians in office.

American citizens not on the left field are disenfranchised in sanctuary cities across the board. Illegals are assigned the low income and affordable housing where they live and squat while the citizens become homeless. The housing waiting lists are closed for the next 10 years.

They will never assist to guard the open border dispatching the National Guard. They need the border to remain open. Then there is the dark underbelly of open border because it also facilitates human trafficking and even more child sex trafficking hidden away within the massive ‘unaccompanied minors’ influx. You have no idea how many of children go missing that come in via open border as well as the transport out of the US and into the pipeline to Europe, Middle East and other places.
In due time the Q-team will assist in dropping major info and videos about this subject because ‘those who know can not sleep, those who know don’t want this continue’. But we all know it takes time to built airtight cases in taking these monsters down.

Re: :”100 year old law” (aka Posse Comitatus) which prohibits our Armed Forces (aka Title 10 status) from conducting law enforcement. National Guard can be in federal status but NOT Title 10 but Title 32 (federal status but under the control of the governor). Posse Comitatus does not apply to Title 32 forces so they CAN do law enforcement. (Already being used in fact for drug enforcement missions). I would just make sure that troops tasked to do law enforcement activities, such as apprehensions, first get officially deputized to give them legal protections akin to other law enforcement officials. They would also need training but many Guardmembers are already law enforcement officers in their civilian careers so this may not be all that difficult.

    • Luke of the D says:

But would the NG be conducting law enforcement? Or would they be used to protect the border with a hostile foreign nation?

      • Aleks says:

Great point. Could be doing both under homeland security. Because of Posse Comitatus restrictions threats to our homeland that are not either an attack by another nation’s military, insurrection or protection of key assets gets defined as a law enforcement mission. With the modern threat to our domestic soil from terrorists, cartels and uncontrolled illegal migration, we need to consider a hybrid third type of mission…manned and equipped appropriately…and this Guard mission is starting to look like this third type. Only don’t ask the Guard leadership to go along willingly. They hate law enforcement, calling it “a constabulary” mission, not consistent with its primary combat role. You can’t blame them. They got badly burned during the 70’s first as a safe harbor for draft dodgers and then with the killing of four young people at Kent State.

    • Gary says:

I may very well be wrong but IIRC Posse Comitatus only lists two branches of our military. (wink, wink)
We need to stop thinking inside the box.

Mexico is invading the USA in an attempt to annex the Southwest. In addition, criminals are crossing the border to pursue illegal activities. This has happened before. Last time (Pancho Villa) the USA Army crossed into Mexico and ‘solved the problem’. Mexico is a failed narco state and is a clear and present danger to the USA.

They need to be in full combat fit out for this mission. If they go in without being armed, then they are just a bunch of tour guides in matching outfits……….

  15. C R Lord says:

How about moving the wall back about one mile and having our guards patrol the wall on the other side where the illegals normally come to seek ways to get across. Since the one mile of land on the other side of the wall is still American soil they could arrest them before they ever reach the wall and send them packing. As long as they are not allowed on American soil on the other side of the wall they have no legal rights and no recourse in trying to enter America.

————————–ANOTHER OPTION THAT MIGHT WORK ———————————-

Maybe we could pass legislation that would make that one mile of land neutral or something so that no illegal or drug dealer could claim to be on American soil and that would invalidate any claims to rights based on American law. The potential drug dealers and illegals would be met with armed force — a great deterrent. Those attempting to cross the line at the one mile zone would have the option to return to their own country or be shot for trespassing the zone. After a few deaths I think people would think long and hard about coming here.

    • Gary says:

A third option you might not have thought about would be dredging the REO and purchasing a dozen or so mating pairs of fresh water crocs, but hey I like to do things with a little flare sometimes.

    • Pat Frederick says:

sad part of your plan is the phrase “…pass legislation…” that involves Congress and they can’t play together nicely with each other or our President.
if they could pass legislation, they could fix the immigration loopholes to begin with–the whole catch and release mess.

Dah, that is where the salt water mote with the crocs and sharks is going to be.

  16. George says:

I retired from ICE and previously was a BP Agent. I have seen National Guard deployments. They really are just for show. The most productive thing I saw them do was drive some of the transport buses.

The things that must be done are build the wall and change the immigration laws. The changes in law are the most critical. Immigration should be completely taken out of the realm of the federal court system and the current immigration court system should be done away with. People from all over the world come here illegally and then have their cases wind through the courts for years while they drain the welfare systems. There should be a review process that is streamlined and very quick. If countries do not take their people back then we stop issuing visas to that country and apply economic sanctions.

In addition the legal immigration numbers should be drastically reduced. The truth is that now legal immigration is just as dangerous, if not more so, to America than illegal immigration. We are getting the same types of people through the legal system.

Agreed. This move by the President is simply a chess move to justify the use of DoD monies to build the wall. Then following on the EO of late they will utilize seized assets from Mexican cartels to pay for the wall. Yes Mexico will pay for the wall.

  17. LDave says:

I’ve seen and heard reports that say agents are required to treat illegals like suspects once they set foot on American soil. They should be treated as invaders. That said, if this is what the rules say, then I support our military actually invading and occupying a small stretch of land on the Mexican side of the border – maybe even just 100 or 200 yards would suffice. Then, defend it militarily. POTUS could do this for something like 60 days without Congress’s approval under the War Powers Act. (Obama and Hillary used this power to invade Libya.)

To those who object to our invasion of a stretch of barren land, I’d point out that Mexicans invade our country on a daily basis.

    • Orygun says:

We could sign an agreement with Mexico giving us control of a 100′ deep part of Mexico that we could use to interdict the flow of illegals. The real issue here is the law should look at people illegally in our country as invisible. They have no rights and by law should not even exist except to be removed. We are doing them a favor by not throwing them into a prison.

      • Luke of the D says:

If by sign and agreement you mean we simply waltz over the border and take the land, I am all for it! Take a 100ft – hell 100 mile – zone of Mexico over as US territory, install a wall with land mines, put 10,000 soldiers along the wall, and patrol it with drones. What could Mexico do to stop us?

  18. Running Fast says:

Growing up and living in California I personally know and have worked with/ around many illegal aliens. In general they are nice, hard working people doing what we all do to take care of their families. At the same time they are generally very simple and uneducated. They are here illegally because it is easier than being legal. They don’t think for themselves, lean socialist, and do not value our country (other than what value they can get out of it).

Unfortunately for them they are pawns. They are slave labor. They are cheap capital to be used by companies to do the jobs that are menial and low paying. It is these reasons that illegal immigration has not been stopped… there are trillions at stake.

Confronting it head on is genius by POTUS. He is literally taking on the major illegal dealings impacting our way of life in one single move. Calling up the military will kick in to action war time powers, if you follow Q, these may be the same powers necessary to hold military tribunals (one can hope).

  19. Pyrran says:

If there were a way to make a 50 yard wide strip on the border a military reservation, then DOD funding could pay for the entire wall and the comrades in California couldn’t stop it. Don’t know the legislative mechanics of how to do this.

  20. Why doesn’t POTUS strike out catch and release? He can do it by executive order

    • Linnéa says:

There is no extra room to hold people. The omnibus bill ensured that. Also, there are too few immigration judges to hear cases (the wait is 2 – 4 years). Jeff Sessions could hire 75 more judges tomorrow but that won’t happen.

      • I don’t understand why they aren’t caught and released back into Mexico!

        Liked by 1 person

        • Linnéa says:

Actually, most Mexicans caught at the border illegally entering the US are almost immediately returned to Mexico after being stopped by Border Patrol agents.

Citizens of other counties and anyone requesting asylum as a refugee, including Mexican citizens, are turned over to ICE for processing and then released with a court date often 2 to 4 years away. A decision at that court date (if they show up) is often appealed with the full process sometimes taking 10 years or more

  21. J.W. Lee says:

Language is critically important here: what we’re experiencing is not “immigration”…it is illegal entry (e.g., invasion) of our nation state. The “intent”…is multifaceted and well organized…and not in the U.S.’ best interests.

    • Linnéa says:

An “immigrant” is a Legal Permanent Resident (i.e., green card holder). The correct word is “migrant” or “economic migrant” and that is the term used in Europe.
